German Yugioh Cards

This topic contains two questions:

 

1. Are German yugioh cards really that different from the English ones? I noticed that German Dante is darker than the English print, and a lot of people value the German ones at a higher price.

 

2. Where can I buy German yugioh cards? I'm particularly looking for Gale Dogra (who I know is ridiculously freaking hard to find period) and Exxod/Rock Sphinxes

It's not that German cards are different to English ones but that European cards are different to American ones. American ones are a little lighter and, well, generally a bit different, whereas cards over here, which are English, look no different to German cards but do look different to American ones even though they're the same language. The only time there was a difference was during CBLZ when the first-ed prints of the secrets were misprinted in every language other than English.

 

The best place to get German cards is, well, from a German. I picked up a whole bunch when I went to YCS Bochum as well as from a German guy who was in Sheffield for Uni or something and had a load. Price-wise over here they're the cheapest of the foreign cards, presumably because they're so common, but every non-English card bar maybe Spanish ones is going to be more expensive in America because it somehow has to cross the pond. If you ever go to an event, just look out for them because often people don't value them anymore than English, and also look out for French and Italian cards (especially Italian, from what I've heard - Italian Ultra MSTs apparently go for over $10 more than English) because you can use them to trade for German cards. If you don't, you can order them directly from Germany on eBay or tcgmarket or something like that, but be prepared to pay for expensive postage, not to mention paying more for the cards because cards in Europe cost more in general.
