It'd probably be really out of place in a tropical themed region to have extremely formal clothing as an option, but no one said we shouldn't. (Heck, if they import the X/Y options, that'll be cool)

Can I have option to wear a business suit / tuxedo around Alola now? Or heck, even a riding uniform (can give this to females too)

MORE CLOTHING

MORE VARIETY OF MEN'S CLOTHING

also maybe less clothing like just swimtrunks maybe

MORE HATS

OR AT LEAST JUST BRENDAN'S HAT

if they give me just brendan's hat and swimtrunks i will die happy

ALSO MORE BACKBACK OPTIONS LIKE HONESTLY

MORE HAITCUT OPTIONS TOO FOR THAT MATTER

More of everything plz.

I doubt Gamefreak will let you run around in your swim trunks with a bare chest, but it's not like we haven't already gotten swimmers wearing nothing but speedo shorts.

Heck, I'd probably be down for wearing swim clothes in general or something.

Given the current images of the Alola region only show an island which houses 1 or 2 towns/cities, I have a feeling there will be more islands... otherwise the game could end up very bare bones. The shallow water however seems mostly enclosed by rocks and deep water with little of note in the line of sight. That and the thing that is reminiscent of a port makes me think that most transport between islands will use boats rather than (one of the few viable HMs) Surf. Other ways I can think of in regards of transport between the different parts of the region include underground tunnels between the islands, or flying; be it the back of a Pokémon (Eon Flute) or with by plane (like in Black 2 and White 2). Most of these could indicate that HMs in this region are more for "side-questing". Also fun to see how out of all regions this is the one where there seems to be put a lot of thought into the cars, despite the small distances you could travel with them before needing a boat...

Also, if transport between islands requires ferries and alike, I wonder how they would stop you from taking another ferrie. I could see them hand out tickets once you beat a Gym Leader as to maintain linearity, but I'm hoping for something else: in the anime Gym Leaders use different teams based on the amount of badges the challenger has acquired (or at least the Pokemon Origins Special); I would like to see something like that. In that case the wild Pokemon around each major city and town (as well as the routes connecting them) would need to be quite weak; remote places on the other hand could house the stronger species. It wouldn't even be much of a stretch, in most cities I am aware of most animals you would encounter are either pets, small birds, and stray dogs/cats. As opposed to forests where you could find wolves, bears, etc.. Due to HMs and alike certain remote areas could only be accessible once you have beaten enough gyms.

As for Gym leaders themselves, I would like to see something different than a focus on 1 specific type. Moreso base it around a gimmick like a gym leader who uses various Pokemon with "Pressure", "Protect" and "Spite" to PP stall your team, or a gym leader that puts up "Stealth Rocks"/"Spikes"/"Toxic Spikes"(/new entry hazard) after which they constantly try to force switches. Speaking of entry hazards, in the anime gyms are designed to benefit the gym leader's team; therefore these battles could have said hazards/weather up by default (and impossible to override?), similar to routes where it is sunny/raining. But with the games catered to younger players I highly doubt this would be the case.

Regarding the selection of clothes, it would be nice if they included some more options. But given the tropical climate I wouldn't be very surprised if the selection was limited to shorts and t-shirts for boys. On the other hand, people in the desert are often copletely covered in clothes to protect themselves from the sun. Lastly, if you look at the size of the mens' department and compare it to that of the womens', you can see a huge difference (not to mention the amount of clothing stores that target a specific gender); as a result female characters probably will once again have more clothing options in this iteration.

To be honest, I don't dress up that much even in the video games (I tried the fedora on in X and it just seems awkward for me; idk why; the other clothes are fine). Most I ended up wearing in there was either the down jacket with jeans, or the striped shirt/vinyl pants combo at its most expensive.

I do hope it's more than just a T-shirt and shorts though for male clothing (though admittedly, that is what I generally wear down here). Even adding gloves would be a nice touch. (I'd be down with wearing the previous generation clothing too.)

I always found it weird how speedos and some two-piece female swimsuits (and midriff-baring clothes, for that matter) are considered too risqué for children in American media, even though any normal kid who goes to the beach will probably see people wearing those types of clothing.

I like to blame that on oversensitive parents making remarks to the government to push THEIR (extreme) views on what is acceptable for small children (see soccer moms). But yeah, you will see people running around in speedos / bikinis at the beach (heck, even some kids go swimming with only shorts on; what's wrong with that?)

(doesn't get the fedora hate)

He probably looked at his character after putting it on, and it made him look goofy.

I think that's got to do with how fedoras are associated with a certain unpleasant kind of nerd :/

This is off-topic, but I'm only mentioning it to clear it up-

Fedoras, in this case, are associated with 1 of the following:

1) Your stereotypical, overweight, basement dwelling 'neckbeard'; Sometimes depicted as a Brony, but in this case it's mostly for joke purposes.

2) Someone who wears one with a trench coat(bonus points if its black) and/or carries either a katana or a waifu/body pillow; This is the worst offender, due to how cringeworthy it is; jokingly referred to as an alpha male because they feel no shame for being this socially awkward, but deep inside a lot of us wish to be like this(but would never admit it).

3) Stereotypical atheists/social justice warriors/"male feminists"/etc. Not as bad as 1, per say, but arguably as cringeworthy as 2 because it's prone to having similar characteristics to both 1 and 2 at the same time. Bonus points if they play games like Call of Duty, because then it's a non-ironic version of 4 and just adds to the level of cringe.

4) A prop that's incorporated into MLG/montage/etc related things and used as a sign for 'achieving maximum euphoria'/etc. The signature hat for Faze clan members/people who can trickshot/etc, but again, this is all for joke purposes.
