I've been talking with Nai, and I reckon they're going to do what DPPt did, and go with inverse advantage. I reckon Popplio is going to end up becoming Water/Ice so it bests Rowlet's evo, and Nai joked that Litten is going to become Fire/Fighting, so it beats Pop's full evo, while also being weak to flying.

None of the starters appeal to me currently. Rowlet and Popplio just look derpy and Litten is a bit dull. I reckon Litten will be the best fully evolved though. Those legendaries though!

One question I have is why the hell isn't the professor called Professor Palm? Would have made so much more sense.

looking at the revealed stuff in sun and moon it looks amazing. Still for the Legendars I am making a guess that its going to be something like Apolleo and Dianat (in regards to Apollo and Diana for the Sun and Moon theme.) Though am speculating here.

There was leak suggesting that the names would be Solgaleo and Lunaala. I think Solgaleo is pretty obvious now, and the Moon Legendary being a bat would lead credence to the idea that it's Lunaala.

Watch, Litten is going to be like Froakie. Everyone thought it looked lame, then boom. We get Greninja.

I mean, it does already look like a ninja. I really hope they don't make another starter > ninja though, honestly.

On another note, I think both legendaries look pretty cool, but why is it that the past 3 gens have all had a legend with wings/wing-like appendages?

Also this is the first time since gen 1 that there has been a dual-type base stage starter.

[spoiler=Starter details]

Rowlet

Rowlet-Art.png

Grass Quill Pokemon.

Grass/Flying,

1’00”, and 3.3 lbs.

Rowlet can attack without making a sound! It flies silently through the skies, drawing near to its opponent without being noticed, and then lashing out with powerful kicks. It can also attack from a distance using the razor-sharp leaves that form part of its feathers.
Its visual abilities are impressive. The darkness of night is no obstacle to Rowlet! It can twist its neck nearly 180° from front to back so it can see directly behind itself. It has a habit of turning its head in battle to face its Trainer and receive instructions.
The move Leafage attacks an opponent by striking it with leaves. Rowlet knows this move from the moment it becomes your partner!

Litten
Litten-Art.png
Fire Cat Pokemon.
Fire-type,
1’04”, and 9.5 lbs.
Logical but also passionate, Litten always remains coolheaded and doesn’t show its emotions on the surface.
Litten can attack with flaming hairballs! Its fur is rich in oils and immensely flammable. Litten grooms itself by licking its fur, and then uses the collected fur as fuel for fireball attacks!
When the time comes for Litten to shed its old fur, it all burns up in a glorious blaze.
The move Ember attacks an opponent by firing a small flame at it. Litten knows this move from the moment it becomes your partner!

Popplio
Popplio-Art.png
Sea Lion Pokemon.
Water-type,
1’04”, and 16.5 lbs.
Popplio’s swimming speed is known to exceed 25 mph. It’s better at moving in the water than on land. Still, when it’s on land, it takes advantage of the elasticity of its balloons to perform acrobatic stunts and jumps. Popplio can snort out balloons made of water! Watch it spin water balloons into a playful battle strategy!
Both frivolous and hard-working, Popplio can easily get carried away—unleashing enough power in battle to make quite a spectacle! But Popplio’s determined spirit means it can usually be found practicing hard on its balloon skills.
The Water Gun move attacks an opponent by firing a jet of water. Popplio knows this move from the moment it becomes your partner!

So

I came back from my morning final and I watched the trailer again as well as the adorable one with the kid moving to Hawaii.

The starters are growing on me. My sleep-deprived, anxious mind this morning didn't register that Rowlet was an owl and, well, that's pretty great. I'll choose him in Sun.

I do think Popplio is goofy as funk, but I suppose that shouldn't be held against him. And Litten's basic, but fine.

And that's awesome that trainer customization is back; I'm a fan of how the characters are more fully rendered in this game too.

Trainer customization is back, that's all I needed to know!

Starter wise, I love that goddamn owl. It's such a cute little ball of derp! And I honestly like the Moon legendary better than that generic shiny lion thingy, although I don't really like either of the legendaries that much.

Anyway, now that I know starters, legendaries, an that customization exists, I will now attempt to learn as little as possible about the game. Wish me luck.

"When the time comes for Litten to shed its old fur, it all burns up in a glorious blaze."

That sounds really cool and I hope they build on that. Makes Litten some kind of phoenix cat. Maybe they could turn it into a move of some kind?
