Level 1 monsters
This face-up Attack Position card cannot be destroyed by battle. When you take battle damage from battles involving this card: Inflict damage to your opponent equal to the amount of battle damage you took. If this card battles an opponent's monster, during damage calculation (in either player's turn): You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; your opponent takes any battle damage you would have taken from that battle.

Rank 1 was a deck I used to use literal years ago, recently remade it in a more competent form and having rectified my initial error of omitting this hero it's now working much better. I've always liked this card and, as I just experienced, he fucks with Kozmos like nothing else. Running him into Dark Destroyer, and then my opponent not getting it and swinging at him with Forerunner pretty much won me the game. The one thing I'd prefer is if he were 2 or more materials rather than a fixed 3. It's hardly a game-breaking power effect . Discuss anyway.

It's fun battle-wise. But how would you protect this card, considering it's vulnerable to everything under the sun?

You can't and don't protect it with cards, you just have to play it right. Dropping this turn 1 is obviously a shit idea, but later on or when they just have out a Towers-like monster, this can win games because it's awkward to deal with. You don't generally run multiple Castel or 101 or whatever so it becomes tricky to remove and can do huge damage.

literally everyone runs 2 castel

I see where you're coming from though. It fills a niche very well. One question, though: if you run him into, let's say Blue-Eyes White Dragon and detach an Xyz material, does your opponent take 5800 or just 3000?

In what century do people use double castel?

This one?

Anywho, card is nice in Piper Spam or something along those lines, but it isn't something I would personally want to lean on unless I HAD to

I have literally never seen this.

Is this like a thing people do now? I mean i'm fine with it because I've used 2x castel but wasn't aware other people were doing it.

i do run 2 castel in my familiar deck, just in case 1 got solemn'd or something, i have other

but of course it takes space for it, but why not?

OT: boss in my Stall Machine Gate Material deck (along with blaze fenix and friends)

since a lot of removal today, so yes, its just fun card in a fun (casual) duel

Idk what the funk you people are on about. Double Castel is not a thing that generally happens, except when it comes to scrubs.

There are better Rank 4s to run than extra Castel. It is not a thing. Don't delude yourselves into thinking it is because low level players often do it, because low level players do a lot of dumb sheet.

Double Castel was a trend that started in DUEA with the release of Tellars, surprised its still around now even tho ive seen it around in NECH despite the fact the deck received Triverr.

This card was one of my fave numbers around the time Number Hunters came out, managed to pull it off my first pack ggggg

This card feels so much like it deserves a shounen protagonist. Its' effect would normally be terrible if playing against a common deck, but then the opponent does something stupid, and shounen protag takes advantage of the situation to defeat the dark destroyer once and for all.

of course, this is real life, and you will likely get kozmojo'd because the villain is aware of the tropes that bring them down.
