Can a non-binary/intersex person be hetero/homosexual?

Just for all you newbies out there: some people don't feel 'male' or 'female'. Maybe they have a different 'third' gender, or no gender at all, or something else, such as a changing gender or something that I haven't heard of. All of these are called having a non-binary gender.

Intersex is when you are born with genitalia such that the doctor cannot assign you a sex at birth. Chromosomes can also be something such as XXY instead of the usual XX or XY.

Heterosexuality definition, according to google

And ditto, for gay

https://www.google.co.uk/#q=define+homosexual

Obviously, some people are polysexual. This encompasses bisexuality and pansexuality.

However, this topic is not about polysexuality. I am specifically looking into how heterosexuality and homosexuality seem to be measured relative to the sexual person's gender/sex. Are these concepts fit for purpose in a non-binary context?

Basically:

Can a non-binary/intersex person be hetero/homosexual?

What are you thoughts on this?

Please no homo- or transphobia.

From what I can tell I believe they can; it comes more along the lines to the individuals attraction and the desired gender of their partner. I've dated a non-binary before and she identified as heterosexual for the most part, some days it was hard to tell. So I go to the former of it; its based on the individual, there is no blanket idea of it.

Well given sexuality can't really be properly categorised for anyone, regardless of gender, it doesn't really matter. People are attracted to what they're attracted to, no need to label it. I gave up trying to define my own sexuality a while ago and am more at ease for it. Sure, sometimes the terminology can help people understand things better, but they're not definitive labels. If people of non-binary gender want to identify as a certain sexuality, then they're entitled to do so.
