GarlandChaos
Lore: A fiend that dwells in a blinding curtain of smoke. So apparently the OCG has been using this as a side card about a month or so ago. Why? It's a Normal Monster with low stats, never mind the DARK Fiend support. I SUPPOSE you could use it in BA as an Unexpected Dai target. I do like it personally, though, since it's an old-as-dirt Normal Monster, which I tend to li- ...whoops. Wrong card. Lore: You can Tribute 1 monster, or no monsters, to Normal Summon (but not Set) this card. The ATK of this card becomes the combined original ATK of the Tributed monsters. Cards cannot be Tributed. I've seen this thing used in OCG as a side card. But why this over Mask of Restrict? Discuss.
Toffee.
Mask can die to things like Twin Twister/etc. This can't.
Ryusei the Morning Star
Twister/Duster kill Mask Monarchs can't get over this easily if you make it have any decent amount of atk
IQuitDolphin
King Fog is a sick BA tech. Fog King is better than Mask of Restrict in the Monarch mirror, but Landrobe is an out.
玄魔の王
Fog King is part of that legion of monsters like Big Eye that Have similar English names to other cards. By accident. I don't see it catching on here.
The Nyx Avatar
An Unexpected King Fog. Anywho: If you didn't Tribute Summon this card, wouldn't your opponent just Normal Summon a monster and run this card over? I have used this card before, but it was mostly for easy Rank 7 Summons. I think the key is that no matter what you Tribute Summon, depending on what you face it wouldn't matter because it would be hard getting something to topple over it in the first place. Something like Kaijus would be set back a lot unless they ran Graydles or Yosenju, Majespecters can't use their S/Ts against your plays, and Monarchs completely die. You could Summon just about any Level 4 or lower monster, and even a couple of higher Level monsters at the cost of reduced ATK. Also, this card is sided in OCG; kaiju and Greydle are from TCG. Majespecter doesn't need to use their Spell/Trap Cards to get rid of this card. And keep in mind, I brought up the scenario of this card being NORMAL Summoned without Tribute. Also, unless you draw a hand with nothing but Spell/Trap Cards and Level 5 and higher monsters, Monarch doesn't die. Idea the Heaven Knight and Eidos the Underworld Squire can be Normal Summoned. Ryusei the Morning Star
Well in that regard, sure OCG doesn't have Kaiju, but it sure as hell has a ton more traps than TCG or things like 2 Book of Moon. If King can be good there, it'll be god damn amazing here
玄魔の王
If you didn't Tribute Summon this card, wouldn't your opponent just Normal Summon a monster and run this card over? Then don't do that. P-Decks can just spam then Tribute Summon this guy. And Magicians can benefit from him as R7 fodder.
GarlandChaos
'K, so: >Go second>Opponent summons some sheet>Play Cyber Dragon/The Fiend Megacyber/whatever>Summon this>???>Profit 'Course, this is probably stupid in hindsight, but it's worth a thought. Zauls
I remember having a convoluted idea to play this and Masked Chameleon in Mermails because it helped rank 7 plays and gained access to Star Eater, while Chameleon also had Dragoons and Marksman as targets. What a terrible idea that was. I knew this would have it's use one day though.
