Phantasy Star Online 2: When commercialism and CGI goes too far

So who's watching this? Frankly it's kinda s*** for an MMO anime but I feel the second and third episodes were easier to take in than the first. The premise is really ridiculous and kinda ego-inflating for Sega and the CGI is atrocious. The school setting doesn't really help since it's so outlandish yet has all the usual tropes going on. And seriously who the f*** uses a Gunblade? Gunblades are s***. And despite all that I'm kind of enjoying it enough to keep watching. It felt pretty good to recognize the various tracks used in-game and the monsters/area, and I was really hyped when they had an Our Fighting concert in the second ep, although I'm still waiting for the ver.miyabi version of the song.

 

I'm trying to install the game again so I guess the anime succeeded, it sure made me feel like playing again.

it's trash really, it's just another promotion anime for this season. low budget, low effort and all around mediocre if not sub-par. PSO2 has a perfectly good plot that they could have chosen to animate, but they decide to take the SAO route and make it about people playing a video game. .hack did it first, but .hack was actually good, so there's no comparison  if this anime does anything actually amazing i'll eat my words, but right now, it's trash. and i stand by that assessment.

I think I mistook this for something else that caught my interest that at this point I've actually forgotten what exactly it was... but when I realized it was a mistake (can at least tell that much), I realized I had no interest in this, so good thing, too.
