If you Control no card in your Spell/Trap Zone: You can activate this card from your hand during your opponent's turn. Target 1 card in your Graveyard that was sent there this turn by your opponent's card (either by battle or by card effect); If the targeted card is a monster: Special Summon it, otherwise Set it to your Spell/Trap Zone, Quick-Play Spell Cards and Trap Cards set by this effect can be activated this turn. You can only activate 1 "Card Rebirth" per turn.

Card B
Child of Rebirth
Rank 2/ EARTH
Fiend/ Xyz/ Effect
3 Level 2 monsters
You can also Xyz Summon this card using a Rank 1 monster as Xyz Material (if you do that monster's Xyz Materials are attached to this monster). Once per turn: you can target 5 cards in your Graveyard; your opponent randomly chooses 1 to add to your hand, and the rest are shuffled into the Deck. During your End Phase: Detatch 1 Xyz Material from this card or destroy it.
1600 ATK/ 2400 DEF

I was going to vote yesterday, but stopped to re-read both of them a bit (because A looked like something that wouldn't be good for the meta at present).

Anyway....

Card A is effectively a hand trap if you have no backrow, but recovers either a used S/T card or whatever monster that got blown up.

It has its uses if the opponent uses effect removal to pop stuff (which is common, given MST and some other stuff).

I am probably skeptical of this card being triggered from the hand in certain Decks that do not run heavy backrow, because it enables a lot more combos that we'd like to imagine from them already. Sort of reminds me of an anime card that did something similar (ah yes, D/D/D Twin Dawn King).

As a whole, it at least softens the blow of getting blasted via Mirror Force/Raigeki or whatever (since you get something back), so there's that.

Now that I look at it, doesn't appear that this card will lead to any nasty combos like I noted earlier (or not as bad as I think). At the very least, you only get 1 card out of it, so that's fine (although in the case of monsters, some of them will use it to recur stuff but think those got neutered a bit with the recent lists).

----

Card B is a Rank-Up for R1 decks (however useful they are nowadays) that functions as a sort of reverse Painful Choice (you choose cards from the Graveyard + whatever opponent doesn't choose goes back into the Deck). It'll probably help with recovering resources that you can either re-search with other effects or something; though its usage comes mid/late game for the most part.

I guess some Rank 2 decks might have a use for it (only ones that come to mind are probably Burgesstomas, and likely for recycling certain Trap Cards for setup), but a bit iffy on if they really want this. They can probably find space for a copy of this, because it would be nice to reuse certain cards. The 3 mat thing might be an issue though (but they already have that 24/0 one [i can't remember the name at the moment], so...)

In all, it's nice for recovering stuff mid/late game if you need it; though it is on a timer for how long it can stay on the field.

---

So yeah, I think I'll go with A for this one for overall usability.

While I do have some power concerns about it, I don't think it's as abusive as I initially thought.

B is nice though, but is a bit limited to its applications.
