We join a struggling Colin (Main Character) as he is being taken down by Lance (his enemy.) Colin LP 1300; Lance LP 2800. Colin: [Oh jeez, I'm in trouble...] I remove Archland Duke from play to activate Arch Exchange! I Special Summon Archland Overlord Marakaul in Attack mode {ATK 2900} and his special ability kicks in! Lance:Oooo... Colin: My Overlord gains 300 ATK points for every Archland monster in my Graveyard! {ATK 3800} and I remove all cards in my hand and Graveyard from play to destroy all your monsters! And now Marakaul can attack directly! Lance: I don't think so! Colin: Whaa...? Lance: I reveal my face-down Trap, Grease Trap! Your monster loses 1000 ATK points and you lose 300 points! Colin: Aaugh! {LP 1000} {Marakaul ATK 2800} At least Marakaul takes you down to 100 Life Points! **BOOM** Lance: Aack! {LP 100} My last chance! I activate my Gravekeeper's Special Effect! See, when my Gravekeeper Omnik is in the Graveyard while I take Battle Damage, I can Special Summon him with doubled ATK! Gravekeeper Omnik {ATK 2800} And then I summon Fire Trooper! {ATK 1000} Omnik attacks! And since neither of us take damage, Fire Trooper will finish this duel! Fire Trooper's attack heads for Colin. Colin: I don't think so Lance! I activate Aftermath! During your Battle Phase, if one of my monsters was already destroyed this turn, you take the same amount of damage that I do! Lance: That means we'll tie! Colin: Of course! Both get hit. {Both LP 0} Colin walks over to Lance and helps him up. Colin: Well Lance, how was that? Lance: Get your hand off me, you jerk! Colin: Where did that come from? Lance: The fact that you were able to tie me after being behind so far! Lance storms off, Colin looks around, and... Tyrell: Hey, aren't you that new duelist that just beat Lance yesterday? Colin: ...ummm... Oh, yeah, why? Tyrell: You did good out there, kid. You oughta try out for the schools duelist advancement program. It's for duelists like you who have been scouted out by higher-ranked duelists like myself. You gain access to exclusive new strategies, and once a week, the school holds a custom card session, dedicated to help duelists get the cards they've always wanted. But of course, there are restrictions within the advancement program, you know. But anyways, I must be going. If you want to sign up, just go to the Dueling Stadium floor. There'll be a sign-up sheet outside room 7. Just write your name and the name of the duelist who scouted you. Colin: Great! And you are...? Tyrell: Oh, how rude of me. My name's Tyrell. Colin: Ok, thanks Tyrell! Colin runs down the hall towards the elevator. Tyrell: Excellent. My plan is falling into place. Once I get all these good Duelists, I can beat them in the DAP's tryouts, and take all their best cards! Absolute... GENIUS!! Colin is standing in the elevator, unable to stop his ecstatic jumping.
