Add 1 Union monster from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand, then you can add 1 monster whose name is included in the card text of the added monster from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand.

Print pls Konami. There's nothing really to say about this so I don't expect any comments but just wanted to post it as it's the bare minimum required to acknowledge that Unions do actually exist and bring them slightly closer to usable.

I've tried really hard to make a Union Deck compete on the dueling simulators, and I have to say not even this is inherently strong enough to help Union's get to where they need to be. Unions are to , put it bluntly, horrendously f***ing slow! Sorry just had to get that out... Phew~ Okay I'm ready to continue.

If you really wanted to reinforce Unions as a whole to compete with the current meta: I would say something like "Target 1 Union monster from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard: Special Summon 1 monster whose name is included in the card text of that card from your Deck or Graveyard. Immediately after this card resolves, equip the Union monster to the Special Summoned monster. You can only activate 1 'Union Genesis Generator' once per turn." Of course, with that you might want to add some sort of draw back since the Union could Special Summon itself for extensive XYZ, and Synchro plays.

Though adding 2 cards from the Deck merits a plus (which is a good incentive to be playing Unions), most Unions with their named counterpart, aren't going to set up fast enough without cards like "Frontline Base" (which is in itself a very outdated card). I don't really think +1 via merely adding them is an incentive enough. The only union pairs that I can think of that can get their set up quick enough are "Vampire Orchis" and "Des Dendle", "Decayed Commander" and "Zombie Tiger".

But if you decide not to take my approach on reforming this card to the best it can possibly be. At least give it a solid OPT. Though I strongly accentuate strong Union support, I don't think this thing should be used than more than once per turn: it is a +1 mind you.

This card reminds me of preparation of rites because its a +1 and searches stuff. Which reminds us that giving a currently underdeveloped type ridiculous foundation cards is just going to be cancer in the long run.

The thing is... Konami made a mistake by not adding enough drawbacks to "Prepreparation of Rites". I think they were under the assumption that the Ritual Spell would in most cases nullify that +1 since you are not searching for Ritual Spell that doesn't tribute or make up for the minus Though, they missed a few things that can mitigate Rituals Spells minus like Hieratics, I think "Preprepation of Rites" served its purpose well: promote usage of a lot of the non-archetype affiliated Ritual Monsters.

Now back to this card's purpose. Yes, this does blatantly +1 at the expense of promoting an typing that has fell behind along time ago. But, most of the Unions with their named counterpart aren't going to do a lot on their own by simply adding them. They need to get equipped ASAP to do what they were intended to do. And even then all those old Union's effects are so far outdated that they won't make much of an impact on the game.

Now for those Unions that can set-up quickly with such a powerful search power (e.g. "Vampire Orchis" and "Des Dendle", and "Decayed Commander" and "Zombie Tiger" : they Special Summon their own Unions.), they could possibly promote XYZ and Synchro plays, but with the proper drawbacks you can always make the +1 justified.

The only real thing that is the biggest issue here is that it isn't once per turn.
