[MtG] [OGW] Let the lack of colors begin! Daily Spoilers 28/12

Love these spoilers overall - OGW is already shaping up to be much better than BFZ. My more specific thoughts:

• Colorless Nameless Inversion is neat, and like its ancestor is definitely constructed playable.

• Reckless Bushwacker could make allies (finally!) playable: they needed a cheap haste enabler and this seems to be the guy to do it.

• Jori En is an awesome storm enabler - while I don't think she's necessarily constructed playable, she would make a great commander. (And she's Kiora's sister, to boot.)

• Not a big fan of cohort, though, particularly compared to rally. I know they had to do something different, but rally already worked so well, and allies don't want to be tapping down unless it's in combat.

EDIT: One missed spoiler:

Spatial Contortion: Crazy good in limited, judging by the stats we have seen so far. This is really good motivation to invest in C sources early on in a draft. It plays a lot like a Bolt, either removing a threat or pushing for 3 extra damage.

Unknown Shores: Well, at least it isn't Transguild Promenade

Scion Summoner: Feels like a generally worse Skyspawner, but I suppose it is less susceptible to Boiling Earth so I suppose that is nice.

Munda's Vanguard: I don't like 3/3s for 5, but this one has potential to get out of hand fast. Obviously too slow for constructed (would have a chance if cohort didn't use the tap symbol) but a pretty sick bomb in limited.

Shoulder to Shoulder: This feels like it was an instant in design, then they decided they didn't want to give white too good of combat tricks after the effect Gideon's Reproach had on BFZ limited. Mechanic is cute.

Gladehart Cavalry: A seven drop that requires 5 other creatures to fully accomplish the effect? This is the problem with support as a mechanic. It is just so damn bad if you are in a losing position. The lifegain is cute, and will determine a lot of limited games this lands in, but even then... This is not how I want to spend 7 mana.

Comparative Analysis: So... Instant speed divination. Sure, ok. Seems pretty good. Hell if I know what this will see play in, it seems interesting to pair with end step anticipates.

Tyrant of Valakut: This is what I want to spend 7 mana on. Because it only costs 5. This thing is sweet. Decent body with built in removal. Would have liked an extra point of toughness, to avoid Reproach, but you can't have everything.

Crumbling Vestige: Not a new spoiler, but I didn't comment on it before, so I will now. Seems like it might have a sliver of a chance in Amulet decks in modern, since it gives them faster mana or something, bloom is far from my forte.

Endbringer: Card is really interesting, but just feels too slow for much of any impact. I would like it better with hexproof.

Reckless Bushwacker: Oh, sheet. This is a gem. It is a lot like a Goblin Bushwacker, and has most all of the same tricks, but not requiring double red is just fantastic. And even in standard, this guy is sure nice. Granting haste isn't as significant in standard right now than elsewhere, but the immediate impact this has synergizes crazy well with Surge. Being another copy of Bushwhacker for EDH is just icing. I'd say this is the best spoiler yet.

Jori En: Decent stats as long as you don't compare them to Ayli, and the ability just feels really fair, but at the same time powerful. Would have been really strong with hexproof. I would say this fragile yet not overwhelming advantage engine is at home in multi-player environments, where opponents are less likely to capitalize on the investment.

Walker of the Wastes: If wastes isn't going to be available with the other 5 basics, I feel it is going to be really hard to properly enable this in draft, let alone sealed.

Mirrorpool: I can't wait to find out why this thing is mythic. The abilities are fairly costly, but being available on a land instantly makes them worth it.

Dread Defiler: THIS feels abusable. I want to see if any goofy standard combo decks spawn from it. Do we have good Reanimator spells right now?

Deepfathom Skulker: One part Thassa, one part her Bident. The mana cost is high, but scions should help a ton, as well as the chip damage the create becoming much more relevant when this translates it directly into advantage.

Stone Haven Outfitter: Ayy, it's a bear! That one sword thing from BFZ is dece in limited, and the hammer has so nice synergies, so equipment has potential as a draft archetype. I would really like to see that.

Thoughts.

Spatial Contortion: Seems fine in limited. Getting the colorless sources might be hard, but seems doable.

Unknown Shores: Perfect reprint for the set.

Scion Summoner: IMO worse Nest Invader. Still solid.

Munda's Vanguard: Cohort seems pretty slow overall. Curious if any of the cards will be good enough for constructed. Still seems very powerful in limited.

Shoulder to Shoulder: I don't get why this needed to be a mechanic. Card is fine.

Gladehart Cavalry: Basically a lord but WAY to expensive for it to be worth it.

Comparative Analysis: Was hoping the surge would be 1U and not 2U. Still, I get why they wouldn't do that.

Tyrant of Valakut: I like Surge. The cards all seem pretty cool.

Crumbling Vestige: I really like the design of this.

Endbringer: I feel like in older formats you have better options. Insane in limited though.

Reckless Bushwacker: I too thought of Bushwacker when I saw this. Needing to have cast enough spell makes it worse, but because of the ability you'd want to have anyway. Very nice card. Feels like one of the better uncommons.

Jori En: Only getting the ability once per turn makes this unlikely to see play outside of standard. I think it has a shot there once Khans leaves.

Walker of the Wastes: Even with 0 Wastes this is fine. With 2 in play this get out of hand real fast. Not sure how good it will be though since getting a decent number of wastes seems hard.

Mirrorpool: Still seems strong.

Dread Defiler: As a reanimation style player I'd rather leave my creatures in my graveyard thank you very much. Still, seems solid.

Deepfathom Skulker: Combining the Bident and Thassa ability has to give you something good right?

Stone Haven Outfitter: Thi seems really cool. Going to have a home in a lot of EDH decks.
