heraldry_lord Posted December 11, 2015 Report Share Posted December 11, 2015 A card that uses the Underdog mechanic grants you additional benefits if you happen to have the lowest number of permanents and/or the lowest life total of any player. Examples: Sudden MightMana Cost: {2}{G}{G}Instant Target creature gets +4/+4 until end of turn. Underdog - If you control the lowest number of permanents or have the lowest life total of any player, that creature gets an additional +1/+1 for each opponent and gains trample until end of turn. Underestimated PowerMana Cost: {3}{W}{W}Sorcery Destroy all creatures and all permanents attached to creatures. Underdog - If you control the lowest number of permanents or have the lowest life total of any player, Underestimated Power can't be countered, and creatures destroyed this way can't be regenerated. Slave's RetaliationMana Cost: {1}{B}Instant Underdog - Cast Slave's Retaliation only if you control the lowest number of permanents or have the lowest life total of any player. Destroy target creature or planeswalker. False HopeMana Cost: {2}{U}{U}Instant Counter target spell. If that spell is countered this way, exile it instead of putting it into its owner's graveyard. Underdog - If you control the lowest number of permanents or have the lowest life total of any player, False Hope costs {1} less to cast for each opponent. Unexpected FlareMana Cost: {1}{R}Instant Unexpected Flare deals 2 damage to target creature or player. Underdog - If you control the lowest number of permanents or have the lowest life total of any player, Unexpected Flare deals an additional 1 damage to that creature or player for each opponent.
