Tinkerer
If you guys have any questions about things related to 2099, ask here.Either Darkness or another member will answer your question. [spoiler=Original text]Hello, fine peoples! (sorry, kinda just a habit for me to start every topic like this now)I just had a few questions about this format. After seeing some of the comments in the card submission thread, I have to ask: Is there a general power level that 2099 is aiming for? Secondly, is there some kind of generic vs archetypal ratio? Finally, are we trying to make the card pool realistic (and have very jank-level cards like Blue Medicine or Sparks?), or are should it be more-or-less idealized? Flash Flyer - Sakura
1. I would assume that Darkness is trying to avoid the power creep that currently exists in the actual game, with EmEm and some other common threats constantly showing up.Mine were initially designed with the current era in mind, but in this format, that might've been too much considering that the game is still fresh. 2. I don't think there is such a thing, but you are allowed 15 Archetypal cards and an equal number of generics if I read it correctly.Probably similar to the normal DP pool thing (which hasn't been updated in quite a while from observation). 3. Not sure on this one, but ideally we should make the cards we submit to the pool have a use in some shape or form.Basically, you should try to make sure people have a reason for using said cards. ----I may be wrong, but this is what I get from the thing (and from some PMs with Darkness about how he wants to do things). VampireofDarkness
1. While I can say probably around DUEA/NECH would be a fair point to work with, I would also like to admit that it's not really much about a power level as it is to avoid terrible design in general. To declare a power level is to declare the level of unfair or whatever, but realistically it's more about keeping it all together and not getting too crazy with it.Not quite if this is the question to put this in but that being said, archetype wise I have been really looking for design that goes a little bit out there in the way it does itself. I'm not saying it's present in anyone specifically, but sometimes in YCM in general I tend to see archetypes that are pretty damn standard and/or clone others, with others replicating exactly that of something from another game. While this is understandable sometimes, having it around so much can be kinda disappointing at times. 2. Not really, but there is the limit of 10 generics per month and 15 archetypal cards per template 3. Idealized would be moreso the key deal. As much as it is amusing to have a few cards here and there, wasting space for those when you can be redeeming more PP and contributing great cards is something really unnecessary. ÆƵ–
I also have some questions 1. Would it be possible to make this an official Question thread for 2099? 2. Even if you aren't involved in 2099, could you still submit cards for funsies?
Flash Flyer - Sakura
1. You can probably use the Intro thread for any future support questions and all. 2. I think you should be able to still submit stuff, even if you aren't involved.Should probably register though, so you can accumulate points in the event that you start to play for real. Though you do have to sign up and follow the rules everyone else abides by and such. I do realize everyone has their own obligations and such and as a result I am fine with users doing their own thing. I just would like to see some quality control is all. Tojin
I've just got the one question: Are you still accepting new applicants? I probably should've asked this before I signed up, but now's as good a time as any, I suppose. I'm not trying to rush you into accepting me, either; just asking in a moment of uncertainty. As such, new registered users are always welcome, and simply filling in to register is all you need to do! No need to wait on acceptance really, just fill in and then go to accounting to redeem your starting PP
Tojin
Oh, sweet! I'll go do that right now, then! Actually, I have another question: what exactly is a template?
Flash Flyer - Sakura
Basically, you need them to submit more Archetypal stuff to the pool and build more Decks as you go along. You get templates from the card shop (which I am in charge of), either a blank one for your own needs or whatever has been accepted thus far. At the time of writing, Skateboards are the only one available (though there will be more as the lists come in). Again though, if Darkness/Kano haven't responded to your query about how your stuff turned out, PM them directly.
Tinkerer
I'm pretty sure this was stated somewhere, but is there a banlist?
VampireofDarkness
I'm pretty sure this was stated somewhere, but is there a banlist?Unless stated otherwise, we use the official TCG banlist. Problematic custom cards are addressed directly, not through hitting them on the list, though TCG cards can be hit if absolutely needed.
Lyris1024
Aside from the maximum of 15 cards per template, what do these archetype templates look like?
Flash Flyer - Sakura
They really don't look like anything; they're simply blank slates you can use to submit more than 1 Archetype to this format. You can buy more than one if you want, though (just ask me about those, because I'm responsible for dealing with those). Tinkerer
So this feels like a dumb question considering the revamp was about a month ago now, but what was the status of our previously made archetypes? I can't seem to get into the card database to see...
Flash Flyer - Sakura
So this feels like a dumb question considering the revamp was about a month ago now, but what was the status of our previously made archetypes? I can't seem to get into the card database to see... They got reset, so if you want to re-add them back, gotta resubmit them. Any generics you submitted are in and up for pack placing though. However, a note that just because they were approved in the past doesn't mean that they'll automatically get re-accepted this time (especially if you c/p it verbatim from earlier). You might need to make some changes, depending on whether the judges think your cards are too aggressive for the format they're going for right now; power level shouldn't be too different from the previous one. (I PM'd Darkness about this earlier on to be sure, and more of a general idea of how their meta is going.) ----For players new to this format, there is a database of cards that currently exist in this format (you can find it as a sticky, but I don't know if it has been updated yet). If you want your stuff added, just use the submission thread at the top of this forum to do so.
Tinkerer
Ok. I wanted confirmation on that mainly because I actually wanted to submit a completely different archetype instead of renewing that one. Good to know.
