epicmemesbro
http://www.hardcoregamer.com/2015/12/03/hideo-kojima-barred-by-konami-from-attending-the-game-awards-2015/180770/ So Konami decided that it would be best to keep Kojima from attending The Video Game Awards because that would prevent him from getting an award that he was supposed to get. For those that don't know Kojima quit Konami a few months ago. And people thought Konami couldn't get any worse.
mitchermitcher
On Konami's side, they insist that Kojima is simply on vacation. And I believe they blacklisted the guy who revealed why Kojima couldn't come too.
vla1ne
why do they have that kind of power in the video game world still? and even beyond that, why would they use it in such a counterproductive way? this is just making them look bad in even more ways. Flash Flyer - Sakura
Konami keeps digging their own grave deeper and deeper, don't they?I guess Kojima could just send someone to accept it in his place, but I don't know about that (or if Konami will allow it). Flame Dragon
Konami is no longer a relevant name in gaming. Its been a slow process but with MG5 they basically finished dying their slow death.
Yosuke-kun
On Konami's side, they insist that Kojima is simply on vacation.f***, I was hoping I'd be the first to say this... But yeah Don't worry guys. He's NOT REALLY FIRED. He's just on vacation. A very very long vacation. Otherwise, this is kinda old news. Not THAT old, but I heard it like 3 days ago. It's really jacked up, but it pretty much just confirms that Konami is lying about him being on vacation. Personally, I hope that Kojima either starts his own company or goes in with Square. I say Square for a few reasons, but chief among them that he was seen a couple times with some of the higher up Square employee's and because I personally think that Square could use a creative writer like Kojima so we never get any disasters like FF13 again >.>

Guardsman Sly Marbo
Has this got anything to do with MGSV defying all expectation and sucking ass? Probably.
Yosuke-kun
Has this got anything to do with MGSV defying all expectation and sucking ass?Probably. You may have a point there. Oh wait, there's a few problems: Konami's attacks on Kojima started weeks before MGSV was announced, and a lot of the decisions that lead to MGSV being so lackluster were made by Konami, not Kojima, after Kojima was fired. MGSV is actually a pretty good game, the twists and stuff just go right over most of the "Loyal Fans" heads because they didn't play the early MGS games. There's really nothing wrong with it other than that it's unfinished, which has been established is a fault of Konami's not Kojima's.

Well, to really understand what the actual funk is going in you play the games in this order; MGSV: Ground Zeroes MGSV: Phantom Pain Metal Gear Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake MGS1-4 and Peace Walker, wherever that one goes. And then suddenly you realise this isn't just about a clone-baby soldier stumbling into the rest of his clone family's plot to control the world with nuclear devices and censorship. This series covers issues with government censorship, cloning, child soldiers, terrorism and even the Illuminazi 'Patriots', and violence that is endemic in human nature. It's a humungous mindfuck but when played in that order, your brain won't die instantly.
