YuGiOh Riding Duel D-Duellists Championships 2008

This is my new fanfic. Once per year I will hold the YuGiOh Riding Duel D-Duellists Championships.

 

Chapter 1 “Round 1! Damen vs Rukio!”

 

“Welcome Ladies and gentleman to the the 1st annual Riding Duel D-Duellists Championships hosted by your grant master of ceremonies, Paragus!” The huge stadium finally became visible. Above the huge stadium there was a skybox, where the public announcer was, accompanied by a man with long white hair and a silver suit. “I give you, Paragus!” The man nodded and stepped forward.

 

“Welcome D-Duellists, welcome to my grand Riding Duel championships. I hope you have a pleasant time here and a lot of fun in duelling in the ring. Remember, cheating will be punished with exclusion from the tournament. Further, you all have your D-Wheels, you are allowed to change duel-systems mid-duel, but the duel continues with lifepoints standings and decks. Further, you each must choose a deckmaster for in your deckmasterslot of your dueldisc or D-Wheel. You are supposed to select the deckmaster before the tournament and you can’t change it throughout the tournament. Now all rules have been said, I think the tournament can start!” Paragus left the balcony and the crowd separated.

 

Standing were Damen, a 17-year old boy with red-black hair, is standing beside a girl with long brown hair and dressed in nothing more but a red bikini. “Hey, don’t you think it is a bit cold for just a bikini?” The girl turned to Damen and smiled. “No, I think it suits this situation. I am Nathalia, the ESP-duellist.” Damen looked up. “I heard of you, you are famous. But for an ESP-duellist you are not dressed like it.” Nathalia smiled. “Well, big fan, what is your name?” Damen smiled.

 

“Damen, my name is Damen. I am here to become the best Riding D-Duellist.” Nathalia nodded. “Well, big shot, I think we will see eachother during the tournament.” She headed of towards a red D-Wheel and drove of. Damen smiled and walked of to find his own D-Wheel.

“Ladies and gentleman, the first round is about to begin. In stadium A Damen Lagrosse will face of against Murdock Salwell. In stadium B Syler will face of against Matthew Carnov, the Russian Champ!” The PA was roaring loudly like the crowd. These were two exciting matches. Damen is an unknown D-Duellist against Murdock who is known for his rough tactics.

 

They were both waiting in the hangar where they would be starting. Damen had his motor already ready to duel, Murdock was taking it easy with it. “Hey, we are starting. Get ready.” Murdock smiled. “Oh, I am not going to lose because of you.” He prepared his visor and set it up.

 

“D-Duellists ready?” Damen and Murdock nodded. The umpire brought his flag down. “Duel!”

 

Damen – 4000

Murdock – 4000

 

“Duel Acceleration!” They both pressed the image of Speed World. “D-Wheel automated systems and Auto-Pilot online.” Damen sped of and took the first turn, while Murdock took the other turn.

 

Damen`s first opening hand showed him some good stuff. “Because I have 4000 lifepoints, I gain 4 Speed-Counters. I pay 1 Speed-Counter to play this, Sp – Vision Blur. Your monsters cannot attack in the first turn they are summoned as long as this card is in play.” A spellcard appeared at the left side of his speeding D-Wheel, but his speed lowered to 3 (author`s note: since I do not yet know how the speed of the D-Wheel works with the Sp-cards and everything, I’ll do it my own way).

 

Damen took a card from his cardholder and set up to the board. “I summon Speed Warrior (900/300) in attackmode and then I set one card and let you go.”

 

Murdock smiled. He had already drawn one card from his deck. “I play the spellcard, Sp – False Turn, allowing me to gain 2 Speed-counters, but I cannot Special Summon or Synchro Summon this turn.” He took another card from his cardholder. “Now I summon Leveller-Dragon (1500/1200) and I end my turn.” The grey metal spiked dragon appeared. “I end my turn.”

 

Damen headed to one level below Murdock. “Draw!” A new card was added to his cardholder. “You have a problem, Murdock. I have a card here that can destroy your dragon an instant.” He held up the card and a monster appeared on his side. “Axe-Raider (1700/1150).” The yellow—red costumed warrior appeared holding a large axe in his hand. “Axe-Raider attack his Leveller-Dragon with Axe-Slicer!” Leveller-Dragon was destroyed.

Murdock – 3800

 

“I can still draw one card.” He sped up to his maximum of 5. Damen smiled. “I will lower your speed with my Speed Warrior. Attack with Raging Speed-Punch!” Speed Warrior went up with Murdock and attacked him lowering his lifepoints to 2900.

Murdock – 2900.

 

“Now I end my turn with two cards facedown.”

 

Murdock draws one card. ‘I can’t take out his Axe-Raider. It has a to high attackpower. I can take out his Speed Warrior.’ He took a card from his cardholder, sped up and moved up one higher floor, which had more light. “I summon X-Saber Airbellum (1600/200) to the field.” The lionlike warrior appeared.

 

“NO! Solemn Judgement!” One of the two trapcards of Damen flipped up on his right side. “I pay half of my lifepoints (2000) to destroy X-Saber Airbellum.” Then the second of Damen`s facedown flipped up. “Then I play Angelic Speed, which allows me to gain 500 lifepoints and Speed-Counters per 1000 lifepoints I lost.” So Damen was back at 4000 lifepoints and had 5 Speed-Counters.

 

Murdock growled. “Anyway I play the spellcard Sp – Double Strike, which allows me to summon one level-4 monster from my hand to the field.” On his side of the field the brown monster appeared. “Vorse Raider (1900/1200) attack his Speed Warrior!” The blade of the warrior destroyed Speed Warrior.

Damen – 3000

 

Damen immediately slowed down. He growled this turn. Murdock sighed. “I end my turn with one facedown card.” Damen nodded.

 

The cardholder was filled with an extra card. Damen smiled. “Me too. I have a Sp – Double Strike as well. I can summon one level-4 or lower monster to the field.” He held up a card. “Tune Warrior (1600/200) appear.” The red soldier-clad warrior appeared. “Now I have the exact requirements to synchro summon!” Tune Warrior and Axe Raider became balls of light and flew into eachother.

 

“Meet my new Synchro, X-Saber Urbellum!” The grey monster with two swords on his back and a bull like head appeared on his side of the field. “X-Saber Urbellum attack with X-Saber Slash!” The warrior stretched his blades and stroke Vorse Raider.

Murdock – 2600

 

“Now due to Speed World you need to pay 1 Speed-Counter.” Murdock`s Speed-total went down to 5. “Now one more card, Sp – Misschief Referee. Your turn hasn’t even begun or it is over.” Urbellum grabbed his swords and stroke again, lowering Murdock`s lifepoints to 400.

 

Murdock growled. He stood no chance against this youngling. Damen took a card from his cardholder. “I summon Nitro Synchron (300/100) and equip it with Synchro Hero, raising it`s ATK by 300 to 600.” The red bottle attacked. “Nitrp Synchron attack with Nitro Blast!” Murdock`s lifepoints dropped to 0.

Murdock – 0

Damen – 3000

 

Murdock`s display showed DEFEAT and his D-Wheel went of. “It looks like you want to finish your duels to quickly, young one. Why?” Damen took of his visor. “Because I want to win and get to the big fishes as soon as possible.” He rode of.

 

“Ladies and gentleman, in a stunning show Damen Lagrosse has defeaten Murdock.” Damen looked up to the stage. There stood Paragus. “I will take you down, Paragus. After what you did to my family, I will take you down.”

 

Damen rode of to the resting spots of the stadium and Nathalia who came back from the resting room looked at him. “What is going on with him? What happened in the past that made him this angry? I can’t worry about that right now, I have a duel to win.”

Chapter 2 “Round 1! Psycho Nathalia vs Ferocious Victor!”

 

Nathalia was adjusting some stuff on her D-Wheel, when Damen passed by. “I heard you are having your match now?” Nathalia saw this already coming and nodded. She just switched on a switch and then sat down on the motorcycle.

 

“Damen, what drives you?” Damen looked up. “What do you mean?” Nathalia smiled. “I have ESP. I know when something bothers people. What bothers you, Damen?” Damen thought for a second she was kidding him, but then he realised she was serious.

 

“Years ago, in the areas far below the satellite-state of the city of Neo Domino-City, me and my parents were accidently walking through territory of a gang, financed by Paragus to flush out the weak and that`s what they did. They defeated my father first and then my mother. My father was taken by NDC Security, my mother felt heartbroken and died shortly afterwards. Since then I became a streetduellist, taking down as many NDC Personel as possible. This was the ultimate chance for me to take revenge on Paragus, so here I am.” Nathalia nodded and Damen drove of without saying anything.

In the private quarters of Paragus, he was watching the multiple screens showing him duels of the first round. He smiled, while seeing Damen duelling Murdock. “Ah yes, Damen. I know him, I remember him. Much potential, way less possibilities. But I want something from him too. He has the Guardian Birthmark. I want it.” He smiled and zoomed in on a tattoo-like scar on Damen`s right arm.

 

“Only eight duellists have it. He is one and I am sure there is another one carrying the Guardian Birthmark in this tournament. Unbeknownst to them, they are attracted by the others. Unbeknownst to them, I am after their Birthmark`s. Only then, only then I can unleash the eight Guardians. I have looked over the world, I have searched, I found nothing.” Paragus watched out over the duels displayed on the field below his office.

 

“The Guardian Birthmark can only be carried by a person with a pure heart, Master Paragus. A duellist with exceptional skills is chosen by the Eight themselves in order to carry it.” From a side door, a man in black suit appeared. “Yes, Alexander. Pure good or pure evil.” Paragus smiled and watched a duel with two D-Wheels riding at topspeed.

Syler – 1200

Matthew – 500

 

Syler was right in front of Matthew, who was defending itself with Big Shield Guardna equipped with Big Thunder Shield. “Arch Rider (2500/2200) attack with Motorized Melee.” A skulled motorcyclist appeared and stroke Big Shield Guardna with his twin blades. BSG was destroyed.

 

“Why, why was Big Shield Guardna destroyed?” Matthew wondered. Syler smiled. “You never read books or rulebooks, eh? Arch Rider cannot be destroyed as a result of battle but can immediately destroy a defending monster.” Arch Rider disappeared. “It has to be removed from the game after he used this effect twice. And as you should know, weakling, I did use it twice.”

 

The ground exploded and Matthew tried to turn around, but a big monster with a huge eye appeared. Having spikes and claws everywhere, it looked terrified. “I attack with my Death Core Eye. Destroy his last tiny bit of lifepoints with Shaking Catastrophe!” It destroyed the last bit of lifepoints of Matthew, who flew of his D-Wheel and didn’t move the moment he had fallen on the ground.

 

Syler – 1200

Matthew – 0

 

“Syler Wrostdale won the duel! He once again shows he is one hell of a duellist!” The PA and the public cheered loudly. “Wait, is it true what I see? Did he faint? Did Matthew the big duellist faint? I think he needs medical attention.” Medics immediately rushed over, while Syler was already gone.

 

“Unbelievable gents, Syler just leaves without seeing how Matthew is doing.”

Matthew was resting in his room, when the door opened. Nathalia entered the room and he kept himself asleep. “I know you are awake, Matthew.” Matthew opened his eyes. Nathalia, who was now covered in navyblue pants and a red top took his hand. “Let me reach into your mind.” Matthew relaxed.

 

Death Core Eye fired his attack. ‘Impossible,’ Matthew thought,’Death Core Eye`s attack normally isn’t that powerfull. I feel rage inside, I feel anger.’ Matthew turned his face to the attack, but he couldn’t get away. He was closed in and he was the target.

 

“What did you see?” Nathalia looked up. It was not Matthew who asked, but a blackhaired boy in a corner of the room. “There is more to that Syler then we can see from the outside. Maybe he is one.” The boy nodded. “Come on, let`s get moving, your duel is up now.”

“The next duel in Stadium A will be Nathalia Boanasera, the famous ESP-duellist against the lesser known Victor Graves.” Nathalia and Victor were waiting in the docks in order to be launched into the arena. Nathalia put on her visor. “Sweet face, I will wipe that ESP-smirk from your face.” Nathalia shook her head and started her engine.

 

“D-Duellists ready?” The umpire brought his flag down. “Duel!”

 

Nathalia – 4000

Victor – 4000

 

“Duel Accelaration!” They both flew out of the dock and pressed Speed-World on. “D-Wheel automated systems and Auto-Pilot online.” Five cards were drawn into the cardholder and the speedcounter was set on 4. Nathalia was allowed to go first.

 

“I summon Speed Jinzo (1500/1200) in attackmode.” A monster similar to Jinzo appeared, but with thunderous stripes along his body. “Each turn it gains 300 attackpoints.” Speed Jinzo (1800/1200) sped along with Nathalia around a corner. “Next I add Sp – Psy Lock as equip to Speed Jinzo and end my turn.”

 

Victor turned around a corner. He draws one card from his cardholder. “I summon Battle-Ox (1700/1200) to the field and then I play the spellcard Sp – Speed Lockdown, which allows me to play Beast Fangs, increasing the attack of Battle Ox to 2000. Now Battle-Ox slice that Speed Jinzo apart.” Speed Jinzo was destroyed, but in it`s place came the real Jinzo (2400/1500).

Nathalia – 3800

 

Nathalia lost 2 Speed-Counters. “I now got a stronger monster, Victor.” Victor smiled. “I set two cards and end my turn.” Two brown backed cards appeared on his side of the field as he took a turn to the left and sped down to a lower platform.

 

Jinzo flew beside Nathalia as she sped down. “Sp – Psy Lock returns to me and I can equip it to Jinzo.” Jinzo was surrounded by a weird blueish glow. “Now I summon Mental Master (300/100) and use it`s effect to tribute itself to summon another Speed Jinzo from my deck.” Another smaller version of Jinzo appeared. “I do lose 800 lifepoints, but that`s a small price to pay.”

Nathalia – 3000

 

“Now, Jinzo attack Battle-Ox!” Battle-Ox was destroyed, lowering Victor`s lifepoints to 3600. “Now Speed Jinzo attack Victor directly!” Speed Jinzo`s attack hitted Victor and his lifepoints dropped to 1800.

Victor – 1800

 

“I play the spellcard Sp – Quick Interferance, allowing me to play a new monster from my hand. I summon Inka Masden (1900/1200) in attackmode.” A brown male warrior appeared. “How? This is not your turn.” Victor nodded and smiled. “Correct, but I can still do it.”

 

Nathalia sighed. “I play the spellcard Sp – Speed Lockdown as well and I play Swords of Revealing Light.” The lightening swords came from the sky and rained down around Victor`s D-Wheel. “I end my turn.”

 

A new card was added to Victor`s hand. “I Synchro Summon my Jackal Boar (2400/1800) by tributing Inka Masden and another Battle Ox.” The warrior and the Ox were transformed into two balls of light and formed together the boar with chains and golden harness pieces who ran alongside Victor. “Jackal Boar`s special ability allows me to destroy any card on the field and deliver 500 lifepoints of damage to the controller of that card.” Sp – Speed Lockdown of Nathalia was destroyed and so was the Swords of Revealing Light. “Now I am free to attack your Speed Jinzo!”

 

“Jackal Boar, attack with Jackal Horn!” The boar ran forward and hit Speed Jinzo right in the belly. It was destroyed, but a new Jinzo appeared. “Oh no, not another one.” Nathalia`s lifepoints dropped to 2400.

 

“In the meantime my Sp – Psy Lock activates and any spells or traps targeting my monsters are negated and destroyed as long as my Jinzo is on the field.” Victor shook his head. “Wrong, Jinzo is a machine-monster, not a Psychic-monster which is required for the spell.” Nathalia smiled again. “Right, but my facedown card is Sp – DNA Note, which allows my Jinzo to act both as a machine-monster and and Psychic-monster.” Victor gulped, that was something he did not count on.

 

“I end my turn. I can do nothing more.” Nathalia nodded and draws a card. “I summon Psychic Geist (400/400) in attackmode and tributing it along with one of my Jinzo I can destroy your Jackal Boar.” Jackal Boar shrieked and was destroyed.” Victor turned his D-Wheel to Nathalia, facing her directly. Her Jinzo was on the verge of attacking. “But first I deliver a blow of 400 lifepoints to you.” Victor`s lifepoints dropped to 1400.

Victor – 1400

 

“Now Jinzo, attack him directly!” Jinzo`s blast blasted Victor from his D-Wheel and lowered his lifepoints to 0.

 

Nathalia – 2400

Victor – 0

 

Victor`s D-Wheel turned of and showed the sign of DEFEAT. “No, how can I lose?” Nathalia helped him up. “It is easy, I was much better then you.” Victor took his D-Wheel and got of the stage and Nathalia looked around, smiling and seeing the brown-haired boy and Damen in the stands, she knew they were rooting for her, she felt more happy. She wasn’t that happy about what she saw in Matthew`s mind before the duel.

 

“Good duel Nathalia.” The brown-haired boy and Damen walked up to her. “Yeah, you did okey.” Damen left the arena and Nathalia and the brown-haired boy. They shrugged and left the arena as well.

 

One platform above them, a boy in a green jacket was overlooking the stage. “I guess it is going good until now. It is time for Raiden to come in.” He jumped to a second stage and went to a cafeteria. “But first I gotta eat.”

About the fan-fic itself, it's nice to see how you have implemented the D-Wheel into the story. Keep it going.

In no way Syler is referenced to Heroes, I have only seen what, the first few episodes of that show and don't know any Syler. No I came up with it myself.
