Solemn Notice

When a monster(s) would be Special Summoned, OR a monster effect is activated: Pay 1500 LP; negate the Special Summon or activation, and if you do, destroy that card.

Well, this seems to be the new card that everyone must have in their Deck. It's only 500 Life Points less than Solemn Warning, and in some ways more effective, considering the current meta game. Discuss?

Noone runs Ariadne anymore? I mean that shouldn't surprise me, but have people realised they could be using the space for something else or something?

Yes, the simple answer is that it isn't a good scale nor is it a good card on its own.

The cards that you would use to trigger it would be better on other cards (Plushfire, Monkeyboard)

All I can say is, took them long enough, it didn't strike me as a card that can be splashed into everything anyway.

Well I mean the luster-Wizard play that could net you 2-3 counter traps is pretty damn good, only thing is if you don't make shock (O) or CDI (T) a well placed Twin Twister or Typhoon if the opponent has that foresight could blow you out of the water in contrast with 2-3 XYZ's and set up for days by popping Plushy

Pfft, fair enough, though I feel that making it a Pendulum was a bit much though.

The main problem with this is (especially in PePe where you generally need 1 turn to set up) that just 1 well placed Notice can ruin an entire play, especially if you needed the effect of a normal summoned monster. This means that the cancer of this format is free to set up and dick around all it wants turn 1, set Notice, and then probably win next turn. In that situation the card becomes a win condition, rather than something to slow the format.

As I said, this card should have had some kinda restriction on your summons/searches for such a lenient cost. It's not helping anyone and is probably just making it worse. Pendulum as a whole is a shitty mechanic, but it's so freaking powerful that it SHOULD be sheet. There are just so many cards where if they were just banned, the mechanic would actually be fine. If the Dracoslayers, pendulum call, skullcrobat, etc. never existed, I think this card would be fine. Powerful, but still fine, cuz you didn't automatically lose if you couldn't make any sort of counter play due you getting cock blocked.

I see this having a very similar issue to Solemn Judgment in that, if the card is legal, you max it out or play Royal Decree. It's very overcentralizing in deckbuilding in that there is no middle ground. A card like Book of Moon is strong but situational whereas this card is good in any format due to the fact that monsters are a must in any deck if you plan on winning.

Basically, deckbuilding comes down to 37 cards and 3 Notice or Decree until this gets hit. Like Judgment, the only time you'll see this card not being played in everything is when it gets banned.

That's not really true because people aren't running 3 in everything and solemn Judgement was definetly not run at three in everything lol

it's not at the level of judgement because it isn't always live, but it's pretty close seeing as most decks this format rely on monster effects and pendulum summons, both of which are stopped by notice. 3 notice in a deck gets it to you faster, and the deck that can set up while preventing the opponent from setting up is a deck that has pretty much won the game.

The only time I can see Scolding not run at 3 is if your deck core is so greedy that you can't fit 3 and still have a 40 card deck.

Judgment was ran at 3 in pretty much everything mainly because Judgment counters Judgment so why not have the negate anything card if it is a direct counter to the negate anything card.

I still have to say, how many people would run 0? It's going to be played at least at 1 in everything.
