Aerion Brightflame
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-34814203 For those of you who don't know; Multiple shootings and some explosions in Paris have left at least 40 dead. 60~ are currently being held Hostage in an Art Centre where a conference was. I'm not labelling it a Terrorist act until more details come in. The attack occured the same night as a France Germany football game, and appears to be co-ordinated. Whilst maudalin to say, it's somewhat reassuring this happened now and not in an hour or two when thousands of football fans would be in the street. Discuss of course;
ENMaker
It's terrorism regardless of who ends up claiming it or if nobody even does. Co-ordinated attacks like this can't be labelled as anything else. Fucked up stuff. And just since I mentioned it on another site, if they had intended to kill as many as possible they would have surely waited the hour or so for the stadium to empty and streets to fill. Makes you wonder what's going to happen next.
Ryusei the Morning Star
Heard it was Al Queda related. String up the bodies of the Terroists and let them rot in public for the scorn of rats and other vermin like themselves
Shalltear Bloodfallen
I.... honestly dont know what to say here, mostly because I'm struggling to even fathom why on earth a human beings would unleash this level of bloodshed on others. Call it what you may, but it does seem like a clear cut attempt to further instill terror on the people of France, aswell as also serve as a reminder about Charlie Hebdo. Eventhough I'm not religious I pray to whatever god might listen that those still alive can be rescued, and my most sincere condolences to family and friends of the victims. Why is it that we, as human beings, just cant play nice with one another *sigh*

Face McShooty
It boggles my mind how anyone could do this... It's a terrible tragedy that happened in yet another great country. From what I've read though, those behind the shootings have been apprehended.
Βyakuya
This is the worst kind of catastrophe being recorded here in France, and it's an incident worser than the pride of a cartoonist being killed by terrorists. The whole place and its citizens are just now in its own pit of despair. Lots of people on Reddit now are reporting their personal accounts and encounters with the violence and shooting; it's absolutely and vividly horrifying, like a hellscape. I'll never understand these heathens who kill innocent bystanders to achieve such radical purposes. These kinds of innocent people are just those will just want to enjoy the night life, and spent time with their family and friends, now it can't ever be the same, all because their lives were ended or scarred by the barrel of an assault rifle, or the burst of a bomb. These are the kind of people that have completed detached from their morality and become totally different, antisocial monsters.

Saiba Aisu
To clarify, the borders haven't been closed, but they are implementing further border control measures. Hm, I was going off what President Hollande said, word-for-word, but perhaps he misspoke? Also, several French news publications that I follow have clearly said, "the borders will be closed..." Strike First: I love that!
Face McShooty
Saiba I saw both on my Twitter feed, I even saw Las Vegas turn off their Eiffel Tower EDIT: here's another I found, it includes some of those in the first pic, but there's also a couple more
Resident Fascist
I don't know really what to say other than condolences to the victims and their families. I'm very much not one to talk about this type of topic, especially when the perpetrators appeared to be motivated by Radical Islam, considering I have very strong Anti-Islamic views in general, more so than the majority of other religions, while I acknowledge not every Muslim is bad, the number of incidents related to Islamic Extremism are much higher than any other religion. All this does to me is reinforce the fact I was actually right in my beliefs, and while I believe freedom of religion is a mandatory freedom for any state that aims to be democratic in nature, part of my mind wishes to hold a hatred against the entirety of the religion for another 150 innocents killed by extremism. Flash Flyer - Sakura
Considering what happened to France earlier this year with Charlie Hebdo, this is opening that wound again and throwing salt onto it.All of these people involved didn't deserve to die the way they did; obviously referring to the people who got taken hostage / terrorized. According to news thus far, it seems that they have killed three of the men responsible (maybe more, but I didn't hear anything else beyond this), though it has resulted in France locking its borders to find out the others. No matter what other people might call it, this was an act of terrorism intended to kill as many as possible. Hopefully they do find the others responsible for this, because indeed this was a senseless mass killing. We may never truly understand why certain individuals decide to carry out these random acts of violence, even here in the United States. But surely, the people who survive this incident will be emotionally scarred for life. At this point, we can assume the attackers are linked to Al-Qaeda or ISIS (like Winter mentioned); considering the circumstances and from previous incidents involving terrorism, it's likely. Saiba Aisu
Sakura: ISIS has applauded the attacks, but has yet to claim responsibility. Some US Intelligence Specialists seem to feel that the attack does not match ISIS or Al Qaeda's style; others think it fits like a glove. Time will tell. The attackers' weapons (AK-47s) are very difficult to mobilize within the Schengen zone, suggesting that they had a transportation network. The injuries inflicted by these weapons are severe; the death toll is likely to continue rising as the injured succumb to their wounds.

Honestly, and call me a conspiracy theorist if you wish, I wouldn't even be surprised if this was all some elaborate scheme to turn more of the EU populace against the migrants and/or Muslims in general (whether to encourage further radicalization of said Muslims for ISIS' ends, or for other reasons).
