Ritual Beast Ulti-Cannahawk

Recommended Posts

It's the integral part of the ritual beast combo and ritual beast were after all probably the 5th or 6th best deck and all the decks above them except arguably Infernoid got hit. The deck can actually still do the same t1 combo as it did last turn but it needs to modify its t2 OTK play because you summoned double Cannahawk during that, plus obviously if your first Hawk runs into trouble you more or less lose the game.

But yeah, it got limited for being a damn good card in a damn good deck.

Give an example; I've never seen anyone use this card (which is kind of sad). You mentioned a combo, but didn't elaborate on how it worked.

a) I topped a regional playing this deck

b) Open Elder+Cannahawk, summon Elder, summon Cannahawk, Cannahawk banish Rampengu, fuse into Ulti-Canna, tag back out into Canna and Elder, Canna into Lara, fuse into Ulti-Canna, use effect to target Rampengu and Elder, chain to summon Rampengu and Lara, return Elder to grave to fulfil the condition of Ulti-Canna and search for Steeds/Ambush, Rampengu banish Ulti-Apelio to send Apelio, fuse into Ulti-Canna, return Ulti-Apelio and Rampengu to grave, search the other one of Steeds and Ambush. This leaves you with Cannahawk and Lara banished, Apelio and Elder in grave and an Ambush to bring back Apelio and another Tamer and basically you can play Ambush/tag out Ulti-Canna during their turn to ensure your field gets 2 Apelio boosts which, between that and Bond, gives you all kinds of ways to OTK next turn. There's a few weaker variations of this combo, which give you the same searches but mean you need to play Ambush pre-emptively so that Apelio can banish the second Rit Beast to tag Cannahawk out into, such as Cannahawk+Teleport, Elder+Rampengu, Teleport+Rampengu (this one's really bad), Wen+Gold Sarc not to mention later in the game Lara, Wen and Zeframpilica are all basically 1-card combos on their own.

There are only 2 reasons I can see it getting limited: 1. It made turns go on for too long and matches consistently went into time where shenanigans may occur or 2. It's a deck that konami wasn't expecting to top at all.

Besides that, it seems like an Infernity Archfiend worlds hit, despite this deck not making it to the finals.
