Toffee.
I really hope they fix all the glitches (specially the Psychic-Ghost one). You clearly never played Red/Blue/Yellow.
Pchi
I would honestly be sad if they removed the Psychic-Ghost screw up. Though even if they did it won't matter. The best Ghost attack is Lick and comes of Gengar's nonexistent physical stat to throw extra salt on the wound. Female PC would be cool, but again, unlikely. With Gen 1 coming out the others are options, but they don't carry the same nostalgia as Gen 1. That or the same degree of broken. The 20th anniversary focusing on Gen 1 is likely what will happen. That and the release of Z at the end of the month. That's pretty stupid TBF. All this pandering to Gen I only contributes to increase the genwunner sentiment and alienate new possible fans. I'm sorry, FD, I know you're a big Gen I aficcionado, but I'm sick and tired of watching the other generations being ignored solely for the sake of nostalgia. People refuse to acknowledge all the progress the franchise has made over the years just because it came after the Pokémania pinnacle. They tend to remember things as much cooler than they really were, specially when compared to what we have today. Also, I don't see how it could be a good thing to keep the glitch that makes Psychics immune to Ghost when it's mentioned in-game that Psychics are weak to them. A few NPCs even tell to bring a couple of them with you when you're about to challenge Sabrina. It's totally illogical to keep things like that. Astro Dude
Yeah, the Elemental Punches weren't good on Chan until Gen 4. That's true. Like I previously mentioned, I never bothered with fighting-types in Gen 1 at all (except for that one instance I mentioned).True, but they rocked on Alakazam if you can breed a Hitmonchan from Gen II with a female Alakazam to get an Abra with the three elemental punches and transfer it via Pokemon Stadium 2 and it would wreck your competition. ~British Soul~
True, but they rocked on Alakazam if you can breed a Hitmonchan with a female member of the Abra line to get an Abra with the three Elemental Punches and transfer it via Pokémon Stadium 2 and it would wreck your competition.I did that in Gen 3 to help me in the Battle Frontier. Ofc on the flipside, the Elemental Punches sucked on Alakazam post-gen
Toffee.
I had an Alakazam with Mega Kick once.I don't really know why I did that, since I thought it was kinda' funny/ironic for a Psychic-Type to be physically kicking everyone. Also- TM1 being Mega Punch again; Oh how I missed this.

I'm honestly half hoping that the genwunners who go back and play R/B/Y realize how bad things were. Again, my fascination with the game is for that reason. The have aged terribly and I want to see just how bad it is when I play through it. The reason I think this year should just be for Gen 1 is because its the 20th anniversary. The a big milestone for a franchise and I feel Gen 1 deserves the attention for it. The other rereleases can come later. Again, making Ghost actually do damage to Psychic types won't do anything. Lick is the best move and you'll be better off with any Base 70 move on Gengar since that would out damage it. As for the trainer, as far as I know it was a single trailer actually in the gym. The line is something like "the only thing Psychic types fear are ghosts and bugs". In Yellow that line is edited to just be bugs since they couldn't make the change without causing issues when connecting between R/B and Y. The reason I want it to remain is simply because its another example of the crap show that is Gen 1.

I wanted to mess around with Charmander though and started a new game not realizing that when I went into the PC it would save over my first run. 👀 REP 👀
I think I got a general idea of what my in-game team is going to be (with the help of friends obviously) Charizard (I've used both Blastoise and Venusaur to death and have never used Charizard in an in-game run)Exeggutor - Victrebell if I get super unlucky in the Safari Zoneeither Starmie, Slowbro, or Vaporeon - not 100% sure yetGengar (maybe Golem or Rhydon)Machampsome Normal Type - between Snorlax, Tauros, and Chansey depending on how Safari Zone goes (half tempted to just that old Safari Zone glitch just to get either a Tauros or a Blissey lmao)

Flame Dragon
In terms of Gyms it depends on how you counter resisting the gym type. In that regard Bulba has the easiest time resisting or doing x2 vs 5 gyms and only being bad vs. 2. Char has the hardest time being weak vs. 2 but those being the starting ones where you have crap in terms of move selection. In fact, I'm like 90% that almost every Pokemon you can get before Brock does half damage in R/B. Only exception I can think of is Butterfree with Confusion. Nidoran doesn't get Double Kick early in R/B and Mankey can only be caught in Yellow.

Speaking of which.... You could totally Level your Charmander into a Charmeleon if you were motivated enough.

Flame Dragon
One of the nice things about the Brock fight at least is that while you really can only do 1/2 damage with Charmander, Brock doesn't actually have any Rock moves. Plus if you get Ember you can go after the crap special stats his pokemon have.

👀 REP 👀
Wow, I'm just now noticing that Charmander has it really rough early RB (I always usually roll with Bulba / Squirt). Why does Nidoran get Double Kick at like level 40ish in RB ;_;
