Flame Dragon
After 20 years the games are finally returning. Available on the release date of the original games (2/27) we can revisit the land of Kanto and all the bugs and glitches. I wonder how many will be kept. I'm pumped. Fusion X. Denver
I dunno man, I was guiltily hoping for a Yellow remake or something. But this is cool too.
Βyakuya
This might be interpreted as a cheap copout for some since there was no sign of a sequel game or new generation, but hey, at least we got some nostalgia finally available here, especially for those who haven't played the original games. ~British Soul~
I also think it's cool that they're releasing the originals on the eshop tbh. I might pick 'em up.
Flame Dragon
I've talked about this many times before but I've wanted these for so long. The original is so flawed and bug ridden I just want to experience it. Pretty sure they are going to have a main series game. Rereleasing Gen 1 on VC is great, but capping off Gen 6 is how you really ring in 20 years of pokemon.
Astro Dude
A few things will have to be worked on. Trade for example. Players will need a link cable to trade. How can it work, like how can we evolve our Kadabra's into Alakazam's? Plus, what can they do. I mean it's not like they can take pokemon from all three versions and put them into one game. Flame Dragon
If you watched the direct they have worked out the connection issues. It is a nonissue.

These games will be its own thing that only has compatibility with other R/B/W games on Nintendo. If you actually paid attention to the Direct, or even watched at all, the link cables are linked with the new infared technology/ local connection basis, it just that the games are now altered so that it properly shows something like a link cable connection. Yui
Time to finally earn that Boulderbadge that was so harshly denied from me in my childhood....I was not a smart child when it came to some things. And Brock had type advantage all day erryday.
EliminateHRN
I've always wondered why they didn't have the old Pokemon games on the VC. I honestly never thought they would get put on there, but I guess I was wrong. Words cannot express how excited I am for these. I'm pretty sure Yellow was the first Pokemon game I played, so I'm definitely going to pick up that one. I still have the cartridge for that game and a GBA to play it on, but I haven't played it in awhile and I was just thinking about starting a new game on there recently so this announcement was perfect timing. I never played Red or Blue, at least from my knowledge, so I'm interested in getting them and playing through them. Especially if they have the glitches and everyone still in them. I'm so hyped for these.

Though the technical bugs like Ghost doing 0 vs. Psychic or the CRAP move pools for most type are built in and thats something I'm really looking forward towards. Astro Dude
I'm looking forward to having ALL 3 Legendary Birds learn Sky Attack. My old game I had to redo 3 times just for that. Fortunately I had Pokemon Stadium at the time so when learn time came, I traded with one version, delete data from the other, and when I had enough, trade back. The result was All three of my legendary birds learned Sky Attack. Since TM's were disposable pre-Gen V.
~British Soul~
When I play Yellow, I'm defo gonna try and use most of my original team.I remember using Pikachu, Dugtrio, Articuno. Can't remember what else if any though. Hopefully the Mew glitch is still there, cuz I'd love to do that IRL too.

They both take two turns, but being more or less immune to damage for a turn makes it preferable. Though if you can get Drill Peck that is strictly better. 80x2 damage over two turns vs 140 over two turns. I remember needing a lot of help to beat Red my first play through. Also remember using Missingno too. One of the things I'm looking forward to is a legit run.
~British Soul~
To expand on from my previous post, even though it was like 15 years ago, I still remember beating Yellow predominantly using Pikachu and Dugtrio for most of the game.I'll say this though, I'm definitely not looking forward to "missing" the wild pokemon when I toss balls at them (like the birds for example). I wonder if they will keep the blank grass patches in the forest. For this that don't know, Viridian Forest has grass patches with a flower on the bottom right square of the tile. Because of how the game is programmed those tiles don't give encounters.

Kingdom Xathers
... I wonder if they'll somehow make it so that the Pokemon you catch in the Virtual Console R/B/Y can be transferred over to the Gen 6 games. (Probably not; this is more-or-less wishful thinking.) Agro
It's the single greatest announcement in the entire direct. Then after that, maybe the Mega Man amiibo. Then the 5 seconds of Zelda Wii U footage.
