[C15] Let's rev it up! Daily Spoilers 02/11

So funking hyped for Daxos. Probably gonna switch to him from Heliod. He seems more fragile than the gods (and vigilance really helps), but those beefy tokens and the ability to use black could easily offset that.

I like Mazirek and Kaseto too. Mazirek looks like he could get out of hand very, very quickly, while Kaseto is the reason for me to hold onto those Kamigawa-block snakes from that quirky deck I tried to build once.

Not too enthusiastic about Mizzix or Kalemne - while Mizzix is powerful, spellslinging just isn't my style, and Kalemne just doesn't seem that competitive.

I doubt we'll be seeing many ETB effects on myriad creatures, because of the inherent synergy. Thus, I expect Blade of Selves to be pretty damn broken in any deck that can abuse it.

Kalemne we've seen already. Killing by commander damage is the name of the game there it seems.

Captain seems really good. Though its a bit too much of an investment in mana for my taste.

Kamigawa lives on in spirit. Card is neat.

More living weapon. Neat

Mizzix seems insane.

Myriad seems pretty strong, especially when you can give it to any creature. Curious which of the 5 decks will get the blade. After looking over my various commander decks, Grenzo, Sharuum, Karador and MAYEB Rith seem like good places to put it.

Confluence seems pretty good. Controlled board clearer that can also get artifacts is pretty strong.

Mazirek seems like he can get really stupid really fast. Lots of way to just sac things infinitely.

Daxos seems really powerful. Though sad that my enchantment deck is WU and not WUB.

Forgive me for assuming the new cards would all end up here. Its never constant where they go.

lol.

Bitter about Karmic Justice being included since I just bought one and it was like $7.

its okay

i forgive you and all of your kin

I quite Karmic Justice in the old frame, as much as I do love the new frame as well.

Blade of Selves would be bropken if it didn't have such a high equip cost. I came up with, like, eight silly comcos with it almost immediately. For example, this plus Zealous Conscripts and any instant speed sac outlet. Bonus points if that outlet is a swinging Prossh. Bonus points if you have out Dictate of Erebos/Grave Pact. Bonus points if you have out Death's Presence. It goes on and on. Myriad synergizes INSNELY well with ETB effects, and I really hope it doesn't get too crazy, cause this mechanic looks REALLY easy to break.

Izzet commander is... so boring and predictable. Good, but predictable.

Simic one is specific, but it's also real good. Blue/Green is a really good legend for Snakes to finally have to reach their full potential. Given the Karmic Justice reprint, Mystic Snake reprint, mayhaps...?

The Golgari one can get of hand REAL fast. That's outight terrifying. Picture that in Ghave or Kresh (basically anything that forces opponent sacrifice). It's also just the best non-general creature of the lot.

Daxos is my favorite. Wish the expression on his face wasn't so derpy, but he's got a REAL strong ability that's very flavorful, given the Constellation mechanic from Theros.

All in all looking to be a solid set. Just hope Myriad isn't TOO insane...

I went through all my commander decks to see what kind of stupid combos I can do. Various cards I found to combo with the sword are Terastodon, Bogardan Hellkite, big Atarka, Phyrexian Ingester, Paleoloth, Deadwood Treefolk, Zeganna, Solemn, Packleader, Woodland Bellower, Chancellor of the Forge, Rune-Scarred Demon, Flayer of the Hatebound, Goblin Marshal, Siege-Gang Commander, Beetleback Chief, Murderous Redcap, Lieges, various lords, Ashen Rider, Craterhoof, Angel of Despair, Horent Queen, Elesh, Kamigawa Spirit Dragons, Sun Titan, Phyrexian Delver, Reveilark, Karmic Guide, Siege Rhino, E-Witness, Avenger of Zendikar, Filigree Angel, Sharuum, Myr Battlesphere, Sphinx Summoner, Magister Sphinx.

It gets even dumber when you can sac the creatures before they would be exiled.

I have realized that Myriad gets worse and worse the later in the game it is, to the point where it does nothing at all when you and your opponent are the last two left. That kind of acts as a natural curb to its power, but still leaves it potentially very threatening.

Which is why using it with the White or Black Kamigawa Spirit Dragon seems insane. One locks down all but 1 of your opponents and the other drains for 15 and gains you 45.

Ezuri (tentative)

2UG Legendary Elf Warrior

Whenever a creature with power 2 or less ETBs under your control, you gain an experience counter.

At the beginning of combat on your turn, put X +1/+1 counters on target creature you control, where X is the number of experience counters you have.

3/3

Certainly less awesome than snake jesus
