ResidentSleeper Posted November 2, 2015 Report Share Posted November 2, 2015 http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Cyber_Dragon_Infinity Since the DOCS format doesn't seem to bring much new to the table aside from Majespecters and forcing us to figure out which of the leftover decks are good, let's do a little timeskip. Cyber Dragon Infinity is pretty broken for sure. But what decks will he be the best in? Any rank 4 focused deck will be able to summon it alright, but I think it warrants discussion which decks can supplement it the best with another lock piece (be it Masked HERO Dark Law, Traptrix Rafflesia, backrow and such). From already established decks, I don't think it fits many places. While Majespecters, Infernoids and Kozmo can summon it, I don't believe they want to. Tellarknights seems like a go-to option. Mermails and HEROes, from less established decks. Then there's also the unknown factor of EmEm. It's unconfirmed whether we will get Performapal Pendulum Wizard in BOSH (although it's pretty likely with the way things are shaping up), or whether Konami will pre-emptively hit the deck, which they shown their capable of by announcing the ban of Dragon Rulers right before Dark Matter Dragon arrived, not giving the deck much time to wreck tournaments. So to summarize, Cyber Dragon Infinity on paper is seriously broken, But how broken is it gonna be in practice? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Resident Fascist Posted November 2, 2015 Report Share Posted November 2, 2015 Contrary to popular belief Cyber Drag Infinity aint broke at all. You might actually want to elaborate on that so you don't look like someone disagreeing with the popular and generally accepted opinion to make yourself generally edgy. Blake Posted November 2, 2015 Report Share Posted November 2, 2015 It's good against every deck except Performapal variants. It's good against Ppal variants if you pair it with good backrow. And it gives a boost to Tellars, alongside Rafflesia, and to Igknights sorta. It'll be played. For sure. Even if we get Sorc. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
ResidentSleeper Posted November 2, 2015 Author Report Share Posted November 2, 2015 It's LaDD wearing a XYZ suit Just play your chain links properly Pretty much, except it's not mandatory, so you can't exactly bait it out with a weaker thing since they can hold onto the negation until you drop the thing they actually want to counter, so it's a bit more of a puzzle than LaDD. Contrary to popular belief Cyber Drag Infinity aint broke at all.This time the popular belief is right. Sure, it's not as broken without Tellarknight Ptolemaeus, but with him it's slightly bonkers. It's good against every deck except Performapal variants. It's good against Ppal variants if you pair it with good backrow. And it gives a boost to Tellars, alongside Rafflesia, and to Igknights sorta. It'll be played. For sure. Even if we get Sorc.Oh for sure, I'm not denying if it sees play. Just wondering where exactly will it see play. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Blake Posted November 2, 2015 Report Share Posted November 2, 2015 Oh for sure, I'm not denying if it sees play. Just wondering where exactly will it see play.Igknight, Tellarknight, possibly Yosenju, possibly Harpies, and definitely Ppal/Pepe variants. Not all of those are relevant, but they're what can make it and possibly would make it. Oh, and Dinomist. But.... Yyyyeah. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
ResidentSleeper Posted November 2, 2015 Author Report Share Posted November 2, 2015 Igknight, Tellarknight, possibly Yosenju, possibly Harpies, and definitely Ppal/Pepe variants. Not all of those are relevant, but they're what can make it and possibly would make it.Igknights and Tellarknight are a given. I'm holding my breath on Performapals and variants since it's still unknown whether we actually get Pendulum Wizard. Yosenjus would probably leave it as a last resort. If it goes for the irrelevant decks like Harpies, Mermails, Geargia and whatnot, I'm not really counting them since they won't become top tier just due to inclusion of Infinity, but it's a nice boost to make them slightly more competitive. Ryusei the Morning Star Posted November 2, 2015 Report Share Posted November 2, 2015 Fields like Law/Infinity and Law/Rafflesia are going to bring Lava Golem back into real relevance you heard it here first.No. It was heard first in OCG as early as 6 months ago. Kaiju might see splashing too though vs m&m's Ra is better since they WILL have three cards and flipping vanity will do nothing. Vs Rafflesia Infinity you're better just getting rid of CDI with Kaiju, tellars have no guarantee of being able to sheet out both. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
ihop Posted November 2, 2015 Report Share Posted November 2, 2015 Well, it's good. Whether it's going to be as gamebreaking as people are making it out to be, I'm not at all sure. It seems to me that it's only really amazing when it can also eat something, which means you make it sometime other than T1, which in turn means it's much more at risk of Notice, Majespecter Traps or whatever else. It's pretty good on its own but it really needs to be backed up by something else because when it's not in front of backrow between E-Tele and Goodwitch Kozmo can out it fairly easily while also not caring about Raff as much as other decks (well, at least not Treacherous). Obviously we don't know whether we'll get Pendulum Wizard yet which makes a pretty big difference to how good Pepe will be, if we get it it's going to be so easy to make and easy to back up that it really will become a major threat, if not then I'm not convinced because all the decks that can make it are either mediocre (Tellarknights) or can't back it up very easily (Igknight, Lightsworn). Yeah, it'll be good and threatening, but it's not going to bring an end to Yugioh as we know it. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Synchronized Posted November 2, 2015 Report Share Posted November 2, 2015 The card is way over-hyped, and it's annoying. There's no doubt that it's strong as hell and provides a strong opening play for many Decks, while also requiring your opponent to waste plenty of resources to out it sometimes, but it's not this game-breaking card that everyone says it is. The community as a whole tends to build things up way more than they need to be. Will it see play? Obviously. But there are more than enough ways to get over this that it's not going to make anything Tier 0 that wouldn't be Tier 0 on its own (Emem). I expect a Ptolemaus hit, but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't, at least to promote product. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Also, it's an interesting card flavour-wise. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

~~~~ Posted November 5, 2015 Report Share Posted November 5, 2015 I'm looking forward to Ptole being banned and me being able to use this in my Speedroid deck. It provides a fantastic amount of control over the game, which is just what I need for OTKing with Chanbara. Off topic: feeling fairly annoyed because someone offered me their trade-box to look through, they had a Chanbara, but then, without even looking at my trades, declared that they didn't want to do any trading because they already had "all the cards they needed" and that they "weren't used to trading because [they] only bought cards" srlsy tease me then ;_; Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Maeriberii Haan Posted November 5, 2015 Report Share Posted November 5, 2015 The rarest of Pepes. So rare it's a secret rare. definitely a true meme. Honestly, am more worried on how will this card's price be once it drops. The BOSH doubling on pull ratio is going to help but this is ridiculously hyped, and kind of feeling it'll be even more expensive than Eccentrick...or heck, Dark Destroyer. Maybe I should just buy BOSH boxes but.... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
