Lava Golem

I know Kaijus are doing this as an actual cohesive deck now but this itself still has a lot of merit because of the amount of stuff it outs, ie everything. Infinity + Dark Law? No problem. Double Quasar? Nah. Rafflesia Infinity? No bother at all. Typically only used in stupid decks like Inferno Tempest or chain burn but could still have applicability. With m&ms tending to spit out big fields, this seems quite a nice way to deal with them. This is just a ramble by now and I'm still up at 6am so that's why but still, discuss. I somehow forgot that this is a massive fuck you to Majespecters, while it won't really accomplish anything it at least gets rid of the annoying cunts.

I never really understood what that thing in the cage is supposed to be.

Card itself is a big pain though. Non-targeting non-destruction double removal is nothing to sneeze at.

Pretty sure it's a person that the golem has captured. Prefer not to think about what happens to the chap.

This is one of my favorite cards to ever be printed. When I was a wee lad and starting to actually know what I was doing with this game I remember having a troll ass Final Countdown deck with 3 of these because I could. It was an out to everything, particularly Beast+Barkion which I saw a lot at the time or Shien+Great Shogun Shien

i absolutely love this card, remove overprotected/immune monster, also deal 1000 burn next turn, trade-in target

work with grinder and that 3000 atk kaiju in remove brainwashing deck for Rank 8, the burn also happen before opponent can potentially use this card for attack/tribute, unlike the volcanic queen

never thought this would be good out for majespecter/infernoid though.... good catch...

Setting up your Fixed Text in the menus of the WC game series (specifically 2k6) taught me that the dude in the cage is the standard stand-in for a player. So your opponent doesn't just kill your monsters when they Summon him... they're also locking you in the cage.

Personally, I prefer the Kaijus (for use generically) now, because they don't block your Normal Summon, can be revived by CotH etc if you need, and can allow you to get a free beatstick if you draw multiples of them. Kumongous is also super-fun to use in a generic Insect-Type deck (haven't really tested the others, so IDK) as it is searchable by Resonance Insect.

This card still obviously has its merits as being an out to 2 annoying monsters, not just 1, which can make a lot of difference when dealing with things like the mentioned Cyber Dragon Infinity + Traptrix Raffelesia field.
