Apoqliphort Towers

Recommended Posts

I can't get over the fact that there are people in this thread genuinely against a Towers ban. Like wtf have you guys played yugioh for the last 2 months?

I have. I can take on Qlis consistently, but then again it's almost like my deck was made to be anti-Qlis. The other decks though... Nope. Have to fight for the few victories I got.

The deck is already dead. We dont want the deck to carry on doing what it did but they basically just cut off it's limbs and then stabbed it, it was complete overkill.

I...gotta agree with TEW.

Wavering is definitely the problem card here. But Wavering push new products while Towers isn't so Towers got killed instead.

Konami fuel melts steel beams.

Not like the deck functions with 1 Scout anyway, for that matter.

In any case, this was far from healthy, so... eh, I have no big opinion of this ban.

I mean I really think people are just nitpicking and complaining for the sake of complaining here. Most people will agree that Towers was aids, it limited deckbuilding and forced people to play a bunch of sheet cards in the way that Djinn did (hello Cyber Dragon Core) and it was incredibly boring to play against since it was normally a matter of having a Towers out vs not having one (again, see Djinn). I know Scout to 1 means the deck's more or less dead anyway but is there really anything lost by banning this too? It's a horrible card for the game and, yes, although Wavering Eyes definitely deserves to be hit as a card I am never going to be unhappy with this being banned.

Likely why it was banned, anyway.

Cue the Yugioh community making tasteless 9/11 jokes like 7 year olds. Also, ban was totally deserved. Something this easy to summon that completely changes the face of the game the moment it hits the board and is basically the most uninteractive piece of shite ever is not something that's good for the game. I mean, Wavering Eyes is absolutely the devil in practically every Pendulum deck, but the entire mechanic of Pendulum is completely stupid and now Konami are pushing them. I picked a baaaad time to get back into this game, clearly.

"is there really anything lost by banning this too?"

^about this part... If Qliphs are now dead because of the Scout hit, didn't Towers just get relegated to a casual boss for next format and onwards here?

I mean, yes, it was unfair and relevant, but it won't be so much anymore because of the other deck's hit. It almost sounded like you don't mind irrelevant cards to clog the banlist, and I say "irrelevant" meaning that it'll most likely be after the deck is dropped unless somebody pulls something amazingly creative in the future.

You know people here are complaining about this being hit in addition to Scout for the sake of Qliphs, not about this being hit on its own, so your previous comment of "wtf people are defending Towers?" is inaccurate. I don't think anyone's really saying the card is fine and that they'd love to keep going against it. Well, Gongenzaka up there did, but come on.

Just like anyone else, I don't think it was a bad hit per say, but I don't think it was completely necessary, and probably neither was it the best hit they could have given them since Towers completely depends on Qliphs to exist so a hit to Qliphs is automatically a hit to Towers and if they already killed Qliphs here, I... uhh no I wouldn't really ask "why?" since the list was pretty blatant with its intentions.

Despite the overkill on pretty much the whole meta and having an idea of what the replacements for the meta will be, I kind of want to experiment with all the hit decks to see if I can come up with interesting stuff now that some of these are deemed dead.... Wonder if that was also part of the plan all along?

*shrugs*

There honestly is no reason for the Banlist to take casual play into account. If you are playing casually, you can just ignore the Banlist, for all Konami should care.

What I mean: If it will become a casual boss now that the deck is pretty much dead for competitive, why is it there?

I don't care that it's hit, per say. I just wanted to be able to kill it once in a tournament setting, but since there's the banlist, that dream is dead.

Honestly, we all know they're just pushing the new stuff. Does that mean they think the old can beat them?

Yeah I knew you didn't mean it that way xD
