Sheep Goddess Lambdaria

Attribute: EARTH
Type: Beast/Fusion/Effect
Level: 1
ATK: 0
DEF: 0

2 "Sheep Token" and/or "Lamb Token"
Must first be Fusion Summoned with the above Fusion Material Monsters. Other monsters cannot change their battle positions or attack. Once per turn: You can target 1 monster on the field; equip that target to this card (You can only equip 1 monster at a time to this card with this effect.) This card's ATK and DEF become equal to that equipped monster's. If this card would be destroyed by battle or removed from the field by a card effect while equipped with a card(s), you can destroy 1 of those cards instead.

Descent of the Sheep Deity

Spell Card
Type: Quick-Play
Fusion Summon 1 "Sheep Goddess Lambdaria" from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your side of the field as Fusion Materials. During either player's turn: You can banish this card from your Graveyard; Set 1 "Scapegoat" or "Stray Lambs" from your Deck. That card can be activated during the turn it is Set, also during either player's turn. You can only use 1 "Descent of the Sheep Deity" effect per turn, and only once that turn.

A sort of homage or tribute to Goat Format.

Lambdaria is basically a TER, but with an improved protection effect and of course different Attribute/Type that matches Sheep Tokens. Keep in mind that this shouldn't be Summonable by Instant Fusion because of the restriction.

The Fusion Spell is intended to reflect Metamorphosis used in Sheep Tokens back on the day; also it doubles as a searcher for Sheep Tokens, while making a bit more practical to play around their Summoning restrictions. The "during either player's turn" clause over there is intended to allow "Stray Lambs" to be played as a Quick-Play Spell, although as a Normal Spell, and thus Spell Speed 1, I don't know if that would be the case, or if I need to further add a PSCT.

Thoughts?

Polymerization is probably still better since the spell is so limited on what it can Summon, the materials you need to already have, and the Spell's searchability compared to Poly's. Though it is cute if you get it to the Graveyard by other means (Magical Hats, Summoner Monk, etc) to help you activate a second copy at least once during the duel.

Personally, rather than the ability to play them immediately, I think it'd be very need if you found a way to have them eliminate all lingering effects and Summon restrictions of Stray Lambs and Scapegoats.... That's be soooo worth it. Still an interesting take.

In Goat Format, Poly is probably a more balanced and restrictive Metamorphosis in exchange for a better version of Thousand-Eyes Restrict.

I like how it has a limit to what it can absorb, but nothing stops the owner of equipping regular Equip Spells or cards like Blast with Chain to it for extra protection.... Actually, Black with Chain is a must.... I think there's a deck for this almost ready to be made.

I've always been a fan of these little fluffballs. When Joey first flashed them in the anime, it was a feeling of "I want that card" that few other cards have given me ever since.

The Fusion is a beast (pun intended). To be completely objective, the protection might or might not be too much considering how much it blocks battles... though would need to see it in action first.

Thank you for your comment.

What this Spell offers over Poly is that, in addition to the search effect, it is Quick-Play, making it easier to play around the restrictions of the Tokens:

Summon Tokens ---> Set this --> Fusion Summon during the opponent's turn.

But, one can always play both this Spell and Polymerization to get or draw into a Fusion Spell faster; adding Blazeman, King of Swamp, etc. could further assist a Deck focused on this Fusion.

Eliminating the restrictions on Tokens instead is a clever idea in my opinion, and it would be cool indeed; but I have no clue on how to write it at the moment without ending with a mess in the card text, or venturing with made-up effects since there are no official cards for reference, as far as I know.

Yeah, the protection being compatible with all kind of equips was intended, and meant to further strengthen the effect. To be honest, I didn't think anyone would notice it, let alone bring it up, so... I'm glad that you did and paid that much attention to the cards.

Oh yeah... now that you mentioned, I did miss the part where this being Quick-Play makes it playable with Stray Lambs unlike Poly. That makes sense.

And also true: You'd have to be venturing with some pretty out-of-the-box text to add something like that to this since no effect in the game has ever really done something like that xP

Hmm not quite. That'd unlock the ability to Summon despite having used them, but not the ability to use the Sheeps/Lambs themselves for said Summon(s), so it'd need a little bit more than that. Though the wording would be tricky so I can't figure it out quite right myself either....
