Greetings my name is Thanatos-Zero, fellow YuGiOh player on YGOPro.

I decided to join the forum because of a card, which really couldn't hold its own water anymore against new cards, which rather remove cards from the field instead to destroy it. Both the Anime and the OCG/TCG version of this card fall victim to those.

That is why decided to use your editor to grant it a big buff, as well supporting the new Exodia support from the Millenium Box Gold Edition.

Rank 10s are also now possible with "Exodius The Ultimate Forbidden Lord" and "Summoned Lord Exodia".

Here without further redo, here my errata or retrained version of Exodia Necross and now Contract with Exodia.

Lore:

Exodia Necross - The Reanimated Forbidden One

Level 10**********

Spellcaster/Ritual/Effect

You can Ritual Summon this card with "Revised Contract with Exodia". If this card is Ritual or Special Summoned by a card other than "Revised Contract with Exodia", this card(s) effect(s) are negated.

This card cannot be targeted by card effects. The original ATK of this is equal to the number of "Forbidden One" card(s) with different names in your graveyard x 1000 (except "Exodia Necross - The Reanimated Forbidden One"). If this card would be destroyed (by either battle or card effect) or banished, you can instead target 1 "Forbidden One" or "Exodia" card in your graveyard (except "Exodia Necross - The Reanimated Forbidden One"); shuffle that target back into the deck."

Copy/Pasted, yes. But the anime version only protects from destruction, it isn't unaffected by any other card effect.
Have fun doing all the hard work to bring it out, only for a "Castel" to shuffle it back into the deck or to be banished by a "Dimensional Prison".

Also, this card can be summoned with "Advanced Ritual Art" as well serving as a qualified monster for to Special Summon "Summoned Lord Exodia".

Well considering the work it seems to be fair, however I would add a hole (which is difficult to hit), then again rhapsody in berserk could make it vulnerable again and considering the work to bring him out usual rank 4 spam decks just do not deserve to win after this card successfully touches the field (without real efforts).

However without a hole it has the towers problem, which is that the card is indeed not horribly expensive to remove, however forces everyone to main/side answers, just for the chance of encountering that deck.

Good idea The Highlander, so let us give it a Malefic-like restriction.

"While this card is face-up on the field, Level/Rank 9 or lower monsters under your control cannot attack and their effects are negated, also their original ATK is halved."

This atleast prevents swarming. However train railgun deck cards won't be affected by it.

I am going to buff up "Contract with Exodia" as well, so this thread will need to be moved to the Advanced Multiples subforum.

Interesting, however if you were to nerf exodia necross a bit (at least making it removable by regular means, excluding easily spammable answers like castel, then again this should not turn into another towers forcing the other players to main terrible answers to deal with a threat they otherwise could not stand up against, also considering you are making it more consistent with the buff of Contract, the new contract is indeed more than a valid base to assume Necross should be nerfed, one way would be to turn the monster immunity into targeting immunity, however that would leave it open to other more rare cheap removal like queen tiaramisu, however would not lead into a general hole, we might also reflect this on spells and traps, considering the story behind exodia leaves no room for regular spells or traps to stand up to, one way would be to allow the other player to easily pierce through necross and the other one, which would not lead into a scenario in which you would force a player to spamm, which itself is not desirable, would be to leave a hole in necross itself, considering the anime version of necross I would suggest you would nerf the boosting effect to only apply if the player attacks with it, while also making necross damagable by battles, meaning that, while considering exodia player could easily use exod flame to stop one attack, the battle protection should only be able to protect necross once per turn, so 3 monsters are able to run over it (or 2 if you can remove exod flame or no exod flame appears), alternatively you could add another clause, which allows the opponent to somehow remove certain exodia pieces from the grave, for example forcing pieces from the grave into the hand or deck by adding a somewhat painful cost (for example discarding one card under strict circumstances), one possible way would be to allow the opponent to discard a card (or something similar), while that player controls no monsters that were special summoned from the hand and(/or if you want less strict restrictions) from the extra deck, that would honestly be a fitting weakness, cosidering how seto kaiba deals with it in the anime, which would include the sudden end of the atk boost.).           (Yes one bracket, I am afraid I were not able to stop myself).

I would also suggest adding a strict condition for the original exodia win condition within another threat to make sure searching potential for exodia deck would not eventually lead up to a scenario in which exodia would have to be hit and the deck would fall apart, also I would suggest you would turn the alternative summon  condition into something less helping exodia necro recycling strategies, however the prior change would already deal with that problem, in any case it would be good if the contract would at least keep its original means of being backup for exodia landing in the grave, rather than just planning to ditch it to beginn with, in which case it should also summon the monster for free from the hand if you control nothing (define nothing however you seem fitting) and if you fullfill the condition of getting all pieces into the grave of course.

You are free to collab with me to create a more nerfed card. As such I allow you to rewrite the lore of both cards.

In any case, these two cards as they are now, should represent their anime power.

Also I like to test them on YGO Pro first, as I wish to feel the true power creep beforehand.

In any case Exodia Necross "The Reanimated Forbidden One" will come in two variants [Anime] (the currently present one) and the nerfed [OCG/TCG].

edit: So could a Moderator please move the thread to the Advanced Multiples subforum? :)

It seems alright, not leaving an open spot for lazy removals like castel, while still not doing too much for the investment, all in all quite an interesting addition, I would perhaps limit the protection of the ritual monster and add a floating effect, however that would be pointless without further exodia support ... actually you should difintely limit the protection effect ... perhaps you could also give it the original effect (anime version), which is affected by the pieces in the grave, and just add targeting protection (this way would be possible (e.g.):

You can Ritual Summon this card with "Contract with Exodia". This card gains the following effect(s) while a "Forbidden One" card(s) is in your Graveyard.

● "Exodia the Forbidden One": Once per turn/Up to twice per turn his card cannot be destroyed by battle. (Damage Calculation is applied normally.)      (Both would be "justified")
● "Left Leg of the Forbidden One": This card is cannot be targeted by Spell Cards and their effects.
● "Right Leg of the Forbidden One": This card is cannot be targeted by Trap Cards and their effects.
● "Left Arm of the Forbidden One": This card is cannot be targeted by Monster Cards and their effects.
● "Right Arm of the Forbidden One": Whenever this card attacks an opponent's monster, it gains 1000 ATK at the end of the Damage Step.

You can discard this card; add 1 "Exodia" card from your Deck to your hand, except "Exodia Necross - The Reanimated Forbidden Lord".   (this would be for the later case).

You can only use this effect of "Exodia Necross - The Reanimated Forbidden Lord" once per Duel.

Interesting work nevertheless.

The only thing you might change would be the fact that the ritual and ritual spell are mostly carried by the rest of the deck, however considering the revival effect of the ritual spell it would otherwise be a bit too much.

The last advice I could add would be to remove the revival effect of the ritual spell (by banishing it from the grave) and adding a nekroz-like hand effect for Exodia Necross - The Reanimated Forbidden One to search other exodia cards or to mill 2 forbidden ones from the deck, that way the ritual would be less strong, however more consistent and splashable in an exodia engine, not requiring certain setups for them to not be dead. (perhaps the most effective way would be a nekroz of brionac type of effect/ nekroz of clausolas effect)(an example has been added below the other effects, with a clause to prevent too much searching abuse).

By the way ... why does it a second copy of the same effect right after its first effect (one with a cost and one without a cost) ?

(e.g.):

This card is used to Ritual Summon "Exodia Necross - The Reanimated Forbidden One", when 2 or more "Forbidden One" monster cards with different names are in your graveyard. Tribute "Forbidden One" monsters equal to the difference between 3 and the number of "Forbidden One" cards in your Graveyard to Special Summon 1 "Exodia Necross - The Reanimated Forbidden One" from your hand or graveyard (This Special Summon is treated as a Ritual Summon).
You can only use 1 "Revised Contract with Exodia" effect per turn, and only once that turn.

(That is one option if you would want those 2 cards to be more true to their anime version and not create consistency problems (or at least not that many)).

(Figured that with the original effect of counting the ones in the Graveyard the player would have a problem anyways, if he would summon an incomplete necross).
