Yoshi's Wooly World

Flame Dragon

Picked up the game a few days ago and am having a ton of fun. Does an amazing job capturing the original's charm while still doing its own thing. Game itself isn't difficult but going for 100% is a pain. Especially the stamps since unlike the Flowers and Yoshi Pieces you don't have any kind of general idea where the one you missed might be. Still really great game for a great system.

The only thing that could be improved is the mid boss variety. I mean you fight a flying Hookbill the Koopa and a giant Monty Mole 3 times.

Agree that only having 2 mid bosses sucks. I mean, I like the 1st rematch with them, but it still would have gathered different bosses.

Anyway, halfway through world 4. Having the "see hidden stuff" power up makes 100% SO much easier. Only using it after I've cleared a stage since I'd rather try and find the hidden stuff on my own, but not needing to run around aimlessly makes me very happy.

Over all the game is really great. The levels are all unique and cool as well as look gorgeous. The music is solid, though I feel a lot of tracks repeat a little too fast. Lava Scarves and Red Hot Blargss is a sweet song, but it loops too quickly for my tastes.

Split second jumps/etc, and pointlessly revisitng levels in this game tends to annoy the hell out of me.

But aside from that, This game is rather enjoyable. I like the 'Mellow Mode' idea, since it just means you can hold the jump button down to continuously float in place, instead of having to keep pressing it.

Trust me when I say a lot of them are hidden super well. You get the "show hidden stuff" power up about half way in so that makes it easier, but its still possible to miss stuff if you don't walk over a trigger or something.

I'm about to start the final world and its been a ton of fun and the level design has been really cool. Looking forward to seeing what the last batch of stages will have in store.

I do too, but its still pretty easy to miss one. I remember one being hidden on top of an egg box and totally missing it because I never would have thought to look there. Another recent one was an invisible cloud at the end of a gem chain and while I feel like I should have passed through it I didn't and missed it.

Only power ups I've used so far have been find hidden stuff and Poochy on a stage I just wanted to durdle around on.

Anyway, very near the end. Just beat 6-5 and I think its the first stage I don't like. The idea is cool, but its far to touchy to be enjoyable. That or I just suck at throwing yarn.

5000. Honestly, I doubt you'll need to worry about gems since I finished the game with over 300K.

And yea, all I have left now is the final special stage and then I'll have 100%. Checked it out a little and its pretty long, but a neat stage. Didn't want to bother with it tonight so I did boss rush. All the bosses moving at speed is something. Not overly difficult though.

But why would you want to not be made of wool?

Anyway, beat the game 100%. Its annoying that you need to egg things to get them in the enemy book thing since a bunch of them aren't really things you'd throw and egg at. Still, had a ton of fun. Might play through the game with a second player, though I don't think I'd go for 100% then since its more fun to just play together.

I had a lot of fun using him in the volcano stage following you getting his badge. He swam through the lava without a care in the world and saved me from falling in as well since I could ride on his head. Whenever a Blargg showed up it was instantly taken out by him, too. And it's impossible for him to get left behind, too. I'm glad he's only 500 gems.

Did not know he could insta kill Blargg. Thats pretty cool. Though you also went over the other reason I didn't use him. I wanted to beat the stages without any help and while I would be cool going back through it with him, the first play through was without any badges. The second was with the item finder and by that point I don't want to do it again.

Its funny you say he saved you from falling into the lava since the final stage in the game has a Poochy segment at the end and I missed landing on his head and had to do the whole stage over. That kind of sucked.

I want one so bad.

I don't really have a problem getting Poochy's help for two reasons:

1. He's adorable. Literally the only thing I need.

2. It's not as if I couldn't beat the levels without Poochy, this is a Yoshi game after all, I don't feel bad about having him tag along.

I love the Sweet themed world, it was my favourite in Kirby's Epic Yarn too. I'm honestly in love with the fact that Nintendo's taking their cutest mascots and giving them such cute games with such adorable graphics. (Kirby's Canvas Curse, Epic Yarn, Rainbow Paintbrush (or whatever it's called), and Wooly World) I really want to see more games with these sort of graphics
