you have to trigger his effect for it to work and triggers are only SS1 not SS2 like MST and OttD

This isn't about chaining DAD to OttD, it's about priority when he's Special Summoned.

It's the same reason Raiza can spin a monster even if you use Bottomless against him.

go dowload and read the rules and then tell me DAD gets priority

DAD gets priority.

Want to know another card that gets priority? Exiled Force. Want to know a card that doesn't? Breaker; he can't use priority to destroy a spell/trap (though he can use it to get a Spell Counter, if it matters).

DAD still has priority.

You you're so sure that he doesn't, prove it.

read pg 21 again

order of activation

1 DAD

2 OttD

resolve

2 OttD

1 DAD

Precisely. DAD's effect activates, and DAD's effect resolves. Such is the nature of priority.

This is what I've been saying this entire time. Even if you try to destroy DAD with Offerings, he'll still be able to use his effect once.

No, DAD is already on the field; the chain of his summoning (in which you could have activated Solemn Judgment or the like) has ended. Then a new chain begins, in which DAD's effect, if its controller wishes to use priority, is Chain Link 1.

I'm sure the wiki has an article on priority. Look it up there.

ender: the cards HAVE NOT PRIORITY!!!

priority is for players if they decide to activate effects when their monsters are summoned... EVERY monster card gets priority if the owner ask for it... DAD have no priority itself, but the player who plays it can ask for priority to activate its effect BEFORE the opponent's response... then, when the player who plays DAD has paid the cost of its effect, the opponent can activate a card on response of DAD's summoning and a chain is started... that's how priority works...

before applying the law, understand the law...

Are you complaining that I said "DAD has priority" rather than "DAD's controller can use his or her priority to activate DAD's effect", or did your post have an actual point? "_____ has priority" is common shorthand for "_____'s controller can use his or her priority to activate _____'s effect"; the two are understood to mean the same thing.

Also, some cards, such as Breaker, cannot benefit from the owner's priority, so distinguishing which can and cannot is vital.
