Mycosynth Lattice

Mana Cost: {6}

Artifact

All permanents are artifacts in addition to their other types.

All cards that aren't on the battlefield, spells, and permanents are colorless.

Players may spend mana as though it were mana of any color.

I'm a big artifact fan, and this card is one of my favourite artifacts in the game, because it's just so versatile, especially in Commander.

  • It lets Karn and Sydri pop lands.
  • It turns multicolored decks into pseudo-monocolored decks, and can make even difficult casts like Progenitus a cakewalk.
  • It allows Sen Triplets to play anything from the hand of anybody you choose, thanks to the difference between generating mana of a color and spending it as though it were another color.
  • It makes Memnarch much more efficient at taking over the board.
  • It makes any creature fodder for Arcum Dagsson.
  • It makes practically anything fodder for Daretti.

In the case of Dagsson specifically (Daretti can pull it off too, but he's much slower), a setup with this, Darksteel Forge and Nevinyrral's Disk straight up wins the game.  Also, when you combine this with Unwinding Clock, every untap step becomes your untap step too, and that + Vedalken Orrery makes every turn your turn.

I'm sure I'm missing other crazy interactions with this card, but what do you think about this?

Since manarocks are so ubiquitous in Commander that any red deck worth its salt will run Vandalblast (with a few exceptions), Mycosynth becomes a target to remove or counter before Vandalblast allows one to shut everyone else out of the game for the low low cost of 4R.

It's also super rude with Hellkite Tyrant as you snag up a single player's permanents, locking them out of the game and putting you in prime position to win instantly.

Whoever threatens to cast Mycosynth usually becomes a hate magnet - unless someone's prepared a counterspell.

Congratulations, you've made a combo with Mycosynth Lattice. You are now officially part of the Commander community.

You also forgot Vandalblast overloaded, for people who don't want to assemble a Dagsson combo (especially since dagsson either gets hated out by turn 5 or wins the game anyway due to being insane).
EDIT: Ninja'd by Trebuchet MS.

There are numerous combos with this card in EDH, but many playgroups will agree that essentially none of them belong in a "casual" setting due to generally being degenerate or game-ending. (Of course, this relies heavily on "casual" meaning 'not degenerate', which may not be the case for everyone, although this is the case for most of my playgroups.)

I'm knocking myself on the head for forgetting Vandalblast overload; Hellkite Tyrant, on the other hand, is something that didn't even occur to me before.  That's just unreal, even compared to the Dagsson combo, because at least Dagsson destroys them, which can be evaded by indestructible things and Disk comes in tapped, although there are ways to untap it prematurely.  Tyrant just straight up takes them all at once, and can even auto-win (as you mentioned) if he takes enough of them.
