Being shown to where it was she was going to be doing her job, Marie seemed oddly amped up to get to work and listened intently to what the person who tended to their room had said. She was a bit weirded out by the person continually calling her "sweetie," though all the same it reminded her of some of the way older people she knew from back home. As the person mentioned the term "VIP," Marie repeated softly to herself, "very important person," as if to make sure that she didn't forget this valuable term, and continued to listen. She wasn't really sure what a "wailord" was, but as the door closed behind her she soon found out. "Mother of Pearl," she whispered to herself. The bed was far more massive than anything Marie had ever had to work with in the past, and the sheer sight of it made her tremble a bit. Put to the fact that generally beds were made before people were in them, so she wasn't sure how she was going to get around it while the massive gijinka was in the bed. However, steeling herself to get ready for it, the girl took a deep breath and cracked her knuckles as she went to work. Praying that the wailord was a heavy sleeper, the girl walked over to the bed and began to try and fit the covers around the bed and, sort of on top of the sleeping person. The process was definitely strenuous for the girl, mostly due to sheer size of the covers and the frailty of the girl pulling on them, but she persevered through it all the same.

With his flames having struck Jabari, the Zebstrika seemed to then be sent into another wave of pain from something else. It was clear that he was now unfocused and unsteady on his feet, but all the same Nine knew that the fight still wasn't over. This was only further reinforced as the Godslayer started to intake all the electricity around him, seeming ready to let loose another burst of shockwaves. He wasn't sure if the attack would be as devastating as the first time it was used, but even still he wasn't going to underestimate them. As such, he began to rush up and close the distance between the two, getting close but not in melee range. Following that, he shot out one more flamethrower from his hand, having closed the distance so that it'd either be harder to avoid or assist in any follow up from someone else.

"That maybe the case... Hey, can legends have children? Maybe the 'Child' is his own. With that scar, it would be hard to defend them on his own."

Legends having children? Fawkes certainly hoped that wasn't the case. Just having these super-powerful gijinkas running around on its own was already stressful enough, given half the ones she'd met so far seemed to just really like destroying things. If they were running around having kids, that meant there would be a whole new generation of them at some point, and for all Fawkes knew, they'd be just as violent as the current ones.

"I don't see why legendaries wouldn't be able to have children, but I've only heard of one. Manaphy, Prince of the Sea. Though its offspring don't hold nearly the same power. And maybe it is his child, but then that's pretty careless of him to just foist it onto us."

"Yeah..." Fawkes agreed. "Whoever they are, they must be important like Brooke said. I'm sure we'll know them when we see them." Fawkes found herself in the same boat as Brooke, both literally and figuratively. She didn't want to get tied up in all this legend business. She just wanted the quiet life. But with how things had been going over the last few days, that felt rather unlikely.

Bravery comes in the moment, huh? But when's the moment?

"I was born in Southshore. My parents were mighty warriors, the strongest ever, but I wasn't strong. I was far too timid...Everyone always picked on me. Also I had a weird scar in the shape of a skull. So they were afraid of me. They both were afraid of me and made fun of me. At the same time. It was tragic you see. My parents took me out to fight Legends one time to try and show me what being strong was. And then a Gijinka...the most powerful Gijinka I had ever seen...Burned them alive in front of me. I went back to my home and found that the town thought I was an ill omen. And so they kicked me out. And that's when I became a bandit; and that's why I'm here...It's nothing personal, kid."

Talk about cheesy. If Kah still had both her hands, this would be the part where she sarcastically applauded the tragic past of this man she was speaking with. Not to say Kah wouldn't have done the same under his circumstances. Although she almost wanted to laugh at the way he presented his story, she got where he was coming from near the end.

"Alright. Next question: When you get whatever kind of power you're trying to get killing Legends, what do you plan to do with it?"

Adarid Team Karaoke

Lok felt a sudden surge of electricity coming from somewhere, likely the arena. His heart seemed to stop for a brief second as his knees started to feel a bit weaker. He stumbled a bit, leaning on the outer wall of the arena for support. "What was that!?" Fiona didn't seem to concerned about it, mumbling something Lok wasn't quite able to catch. "Oh, sorry, uh, where was I?" Lok glanced at the arena, before turning to the girl. "Didn't you just feel that... that... power?" The girl seemed very nonchalant about the whole situation. He turned to the arena, various thought crossing his mind. "Just what are they doing in there..." He thought out loud, walking in front of the arena entrance. He was concerned about his friends, but at the same time any fear he had of going in there was amplified by the surge of electricity that had just came over him. His fear kept him mostly immobile, until he turned away from the arena gates, walking the other direciton. "I hope they're ok..."

Icecrown Team Showdown

"Er... I'll pass. Hehe..." She shuddered a bit, rejecting the meal offer of Sneasel. Something about the idea seemed... wrong to her, although she had seen gijinka eat each other before. The group continued on their trek up the mountain ever so slowly, the harsh snow impeding their adventure. The mountain seemed to rumble above them, part of it cascading over them. They ended up finding a cave to rest for the night, one that seemed to have some sort of occupant in it. However, they didn't have much of a choice in shelter for now.

Scarlet had woken up early the next morning, only to find their food supply had gone missing. She noted the foot prints left in the snow around the gap that used to be their supplies. It didn't take much to connect the dots. "Damn it!" She hissed, turning to see if anyone else had awoken. Her eyes met with Tianzi's who didn't seem all too pleased with their situation.  "My my, it seemed that when we are still in la la land, someone or something apparently stole our supplies and took off with it. While perhaps I could say that I had little issues with it because I has the choice of eating one of you three should the situation called for it, the fact that the foot print was still there perhaps would mean that this insolent thief had not been gone for too long. Would any of you be kind enough to track down the little sheet?"

Scarlet nodded. She was still a bit groggy from having just woken up, but they didn't have much time if they wanted to even have a chance to catch the thief. "With pleasure." She cracked her neck, brushing off the snow on her shoulder, before walking towards the exit and following the prints on the snow. "Can't believe I let that happen..." He muttered to herself.

Taiga had finally gotten a rather good nights sleep, her belly full of cold sneasel.  It was the best thing she had eaten in days, but there wasn't much competition for that title to begin with.  The last time she had a meal that good was probably the reward she received in Oasis.  She really should have eaten that pie.  However, the voice of their fourth team slot occupant woke her up with a grown.

"Shove it up your-"

"With pleasure."

Scarlet was the one to take Tianzi up on his offer.  Taiga couldn't help but grind her teeth, watching their armored cohort walk back out into the snow.  Taiga rose from her slumped position to walk over to the freak.  Taiga picked some flesh out of her teeth before continuing.

"You know...I've met some other Xatu in my travels.  Put you're a real piece of work.  Why don't you look into the future next time, maybe make yourself useful."  Taiga bared her fangs.  "Or else you'll be used some other way...Fufufufu."

Brooke laughed at Dora’s question as they headed down the stairs, preemptively catching the child before she could stumble. “They don’t do much of anything, kiddo,” she said fondly, making sure that Dora took the stairs slowly. “They grown down in the the ground, where it’s super dark, and then we pull ‘em up to eat them. Wait… If you’re a potato, how come someone didn’t eat you up when they pulled you outta the ground? And where are you roots?” She prodded Dora’s stomach as they stepped into the dark and dank space below the deck. “I don’t think this theory about you being a potato adds up. I think you’re actually a gijinka! Whaddaya say to that, kiddo?”

She shook her head. “Yep, sorry to say, all the evidence points you being a gijinka. Simple as that… but a gijinka is better than a potato anyways. Potatoes don’t do anything but hide underground in the dark and then get eaten. Now how about you do me a favor, Ms. Not-A-Potato?” she pulled off her hat, shook her long, orange hair free, and then laid the hat on Dora’s head. “Watch this for me while I train, will ya? It’d get dirty if I wore it, but it’s really important to me, so I need someone I trust to watch it. Think ya could do it?”

She looked at Dora very seriously.

Team Alola, Day 7, Northshore

Randy

The Poliwrath watched with a frown as Randy went about his work. He was chewing on an incense stick as he watched and, not liking what he saw, spit it out to yell even louder. "YOU CALL THAT TRASH COLLECTING? FASTER! I WANT YOU TO PICK UP ALL THIS HERE IN SIXTY SECONDS OR NO PAY FOR YOU!"

Randy would notice that the stretch of beach he had to clean was large enough that it would take thirty seconds just to get to the end of the trail of garbage. And not only that but it seemed that the beach goers wouldn't make it easy as several of them had set up shop, and beach chairs, right in the path that Randy was taking.

If he managed to push himself to do this, however, he would only find MORE trash behind him. The culprit would be clear soon though as he would notice a Garbodor walking with a bag full of trash, eating it and spilling all over the place.

Keanu

"Ey, little wahine--I mean, missy. Don't you want to build a sandcastle? Or, uhh, swim with the others? Over there, that girl's gathering sand dollars. Looks fun, right?"

"Sand dollars are lame mister, everyone knows that." The girl said in a know-it-all tone. She tilted her head to the side and gave it some thought. "I can build a sandcastle...but only if you do it with me mister!"

At that a pair of children, a Trapinch and Gastly, approached the two and the Trapinch called out. "Hey she's just a girl she can't build sandcastles!"

"Can too!" Came the response.

"Oh yeah, wanna bet? Whoever wins gets the other's allowance for a week!"

"You're on!" The girl said, then, turning to Keanu. "You'll help me, right? Right?" She pleaded.

Marie

Marie was making good progress in making the bed. It would expend quite a bit of energy, especially due to the sheets almost not being large enough to fit over the bed in the first place.

But then the Wailord began to move. Right into Marie's path. The large Gijinka was now rolling right for the little girl. This caused the sheets to once more become undone but more importantly meant that a Gijinka much heavier than she was about to roll right on top of the Popplio.

Team Mac, Day 15, Southshore

"Hey! Wh-what will you do now?" He asked. "It's hard to grow strong b-by yourself, and it's dangerous to g-go alone,"

"What no I don't want her with us!" Mac complained as she chased after Kazo. She couldn't believe that Kazo would try and do something so bold, unless...

"Safety in numbers, right?"

Well Ari agreeing made sense. But Kazo? There was only one thing she could think of for why he would be doing this.

Melody responded as Mac caught up with the group. "Now why would I go and do that? Babysitting is not exactly my style." Melody said with an indignant sniff, casting her gaze over Ari and Mac.

"I know what's going on." Mac said darkly, approaching Kazo. "You're trying to get on her good side. You're trying to get all...all...lovey-dovey aren't you?" She accused of Kazo.

"Oh my, your owner doesn't like that does she?" Melody said, her tears gone by now and replaced with a smirk. "Maybe if it were just you and I..." She winked at Kazo, causing Mac to fume even more.

Team Neo Not Dark, Day 24, Water Route to Mioter

“Yep, sorry to say, all the evidence points you being a gijinka. Simple as that… but a gijinka is better than a potato anyways. Potatoes don’t do anything but hide underground in the dark and then get eaten. Now how about you do me a favor, Ms. Not-A-Potato?” she pulled off her hat, shook her long, orange hair free, and then laid the hat on Dora’s head. “Watch this for me while I train, will ya? It’d get dirty if I wore it, but it’s really important to me, so I need someone I trust to watch it. Think ya could do it?”

Something about that didn't quite add up to Dora...But she couldn't place a finger on why...mostly because placing a finger on anything was a bit difficult to begin with. But that was all driven out of her mind when the hat made contact with her head. Suddenly Dora felt...taller, bigger, adult-er, was the hat magic!?

She nodded vigorously, almost losing the hat, before giggling and adjusting it, a hard task without using hands, and then nodded less energetically. "I will watch it even better than a potato could!"

----

The trip would last for another four days, their progress being helped along by a stronger wind than normal, and, noontime on that last day, they would be within sight of a large island.

The island had little to no vegetation on it, merely a few harder breed of trees, and not really any remarkable features.

What was remarkable, however, was the thing high in the sky above the island. Floating hundreds of feet in the air was a huge chunk of earth, looking as though it were torn right from the island. On top of it could be barely made out various buildings and spires. The city seemed to be connected to the ground via a pair of huge chains, each link being the size of one Brooke, and these appeared to keep the city from swaying or floating too far from the island.

As they approached the captain would explain that there was an area cleared off under the city. A paved square that was manned by several Psychic type Gijinka who would teleport people up into the city proper.

Team Showdown, Day 26, Icecrown

As Scarlet left the cave and began to follow the tracks they would notice how much colder it was out there than in the cave itself. Isole, following behind the group, didn't really notice anything out of the ordinary. She watched the group from behind as they followed the tracks, observing the snow covered rock face of the mountain. Amusing herself by seeing how it glistened in the sunlight. Watching as small bits of snow would occasionally fall..

Before anyone could react there was a snarl from above them and a large snow leopard leapt from a cliff above Scarlet. The animal bit into her shoulder, though it was a harder object than the leopard had expected, and used the momentum to drag Scarlet off the side of their path.

The fall was only several feet but Scarlet would land mere inches from a much larger fall.

Isole moved swiftly, getting to the front of the other two due to her levitation, and paused at the area Scarlet had fallen. She didn't want to attack and risk causing them to tumble further but the leopard was now on top of the Scizor and looking hungrily at her.

A bit farther down the path, a fox could be seen, with a strap of the bag with their missing food in its mouth, watching. After a few moments it would begin to run away, taking the food with them.

Team Karaoke, Day 20, Adarid Arena

Jabari was hit by the flames dead-on. However his body was glowing with energy and he managed to Endure the powerful attack. Gwen, realizing that she had to react quick, launched a flurry of Magical Leaf at the Zebstrika...to no avail.

Jabari released his energy, cutting through the attack, and striking the trio with a powerful blast. Nine and Gwen both would be knocked unconscious by the assault and Clotilde would be injured, as well as suffer a minor paralysis effect.

"Is this not enough, Avatar of Victory?" Jabari shouted. Getting no response he nodded. "I see. It is total victory you want...very well." He looked towards the last opponent standing, Clotilde, and his body became wreathed in flames.

------

"I hope they're ok..."

"Oh, yeah, I'm sure they're fine!" Fiona said with an awkward, empathetic, wave of her hands. "Not like there's anything we can do anyway, right? Those three are so strong after all. If they can't do it what can we do right?" Even as she said this Fiona felt herself edging towards the Arena. Stupid stupid. She couldn't fight one of the Godslayers. If the others lost then so be it. She'd take Lok away and...do something. She wasn't sure yet. But she did know she wasn't about to run in and fight on her own. But if they did lose...then she would be alone with only Lok for protection...and they were still in a city during a riot...No, no, she would stay right there.

Kah

"Alright. Next question: When you get whatever kind of power you're trying to get killing Legends, what do you plan to do with it?"

"I'm going to be the very best like no one ever was...and stomp all those idiots who dared to laugh at me! What else is there?" Edgelord scoffed at the Dragon.

"Now now, your love-talk can wait, we have to get moving." Ankou said suddenly, interrupting the two. She handed something to Kah. A talisman made from onyx, in the shape of a flame, which was warm to the touch. "You will need this. You're going to Mioter...alone. But not the city itself. Not yet. You are to go to the far side of the island and find a hidden tunnel. This will allow you to open it. Once there...well you'll find out."

With one last chance for any parting response or questions from Kah, the pair sent her on her way, directing her to a rowboat that was at the water's edge.

"YOU CALL THAT TRASH COLLECTING? FASTER! I WANT YOU TO PICK UP ALL THIS HERE IN SIXTY SECONDS OR NO PAY FOR YOU!"

sheet...sheet...I really wish I could learn Extreme Speed right now... Randy thought, gritting his teeth. "Yes sir!" He gripped the trash bag in his hand tightly and started his best to pull the lead out, running faster as he grabbed a few things of trash here and there to immediately throw in the bag.

The Incineroar was doing alright for the beginning of it, but noticed that plenty of beach goers were now directly in the path he was going for. Setting up shop, setting up chairs, you name it. However, this didn't deter the Fire type, as he exhaled a bit and started doing a serpentine maneuver between the beach chairs and even the shops as he grabbed every piece of trash he could see.

However, on the last chair he jumped, Randy stepped wrong and began to tumble forward. Luckily he had a tight hold of the trash bag, so nothing spilled out. With a slight groan, he got back up and collected the last little bit of trash in front of him. A-Alright...alright that should be... Randy thought, before turning back around and seeing the area he left before running through the beach goers, more trash. "Arceus DAMNIT!!" he growled before finally noticing the culprit behind all of this: a Garbodor eating from a full trash bag and it spilling all over the place.

Right now this caused the Incineroar to get quite pissed, as he began to run full force back towards the newly dropped trash, immediately picking it up. He had lost count right now on time, but at this point, if the Poliwrath didn't pay him just because he was being thorough with this, that was his loss. With the last little bit of the new trash picked up, he set his sights on the Garbodor, rushing up towards him.

"HEY!!!" he shouted, before coming to a skidding halt near him.

"Hmmm? Can I help you?" Randy heard the Garbodor speak, his mouth full of garbage...charming.

The Incineroar exhaled deeply before looking at the gijinka. "I'm sorry, but could you find a place to eat that where your not spilling it all over the beach? Your making my job harder!" Try the nice approach first...and hope that works.

Now that Randy got a good look at the gijinka up close, it was clear that this Garbodor was a huge bear of a guy. It seemed like he could possibly content with the likes of an Ursaring, Pangoro, or even Beartic. Nevertheless, he watched the Garbodor start to squint at him. "And you're making my mealtime harder, why are you hording all the grub for yourself, fatty."

Fatty?! Randy thought, beginning to grit his teeth at this point. He did his best to keep his cool, only exhaling again, before speaking again. "First off, I'm not eating this. I'm cleaning up. It's my job. Second, couldn't you just take that over to at least the docks or maybe to your own chair and enjoy it there? It's a lot less hassle on both me and those on the beach."

"I don't see nobody complaining cept you." the Garbodor said, looking uncaring at Randy.

This was true, as the beach goers seemed to stay at least twenty feet away from him. But right now...Randy was on edge. This guy was literally on his last nerve. "Yeah well..." he immediately paused, before contemplating what he was going to say next. He WANTED to say it was because of his smell that no one else was complaining, but right now he didn't want to start a fight. Randy only breathed deeply. "Listen, my boss is on my hide to keep this beach clean right now. So if you could please do me the favor."

"And what" the Garbodor started, still munching away. "Do I get outta it?"

Randy thought for a good long minute, before smirking slightly. "The entire bag of garbage I'm holding. Some of it happens to be the scraps you dropped. I'll give you this bag if you promise to try and keep the littering down when you eat."

The Garbodor was silent as he eyed the bag greedily. He glanced at Randy and let out a harrumph. "Fine...But you should work on that attitude fatty...and that face, yeesh." And without a second word, the gijinka took the bag out of Randy's hand and headed over towards a large beach towel and flopped down on top of it.

With a sigh of relief finally escaping his mouth, Randy fell on his rear on the beach with a groan. "M-Mission accomplished..." he muttered. At least I hope...

Adarid Again/ ~

Seeing the Zebstrika turn to her, ready to finish her off, Clotilde prepared herself again. "I know not who or what you are, or what you desire. Why are you here and why do you fight, how are you this strong or what this Avatar of Victory may be, but I will defeat you, and interrogate you for any information about Dialga."

With the other two down, she didn't have to worry about the aftereffects of what she was going to do disrupting them too much. Clotilde stomped her foot on the ground, intent to unleashing and Earthquake. She hadn't utilized it so far so her opponent shouldn't have seen it coming, but just in case she willed the Aftershock to come a few seconds later. Now it was a matter of hoping she'd pull it off despite being paralyzed.

Taiga was shook by the sudden sound of what rang in her ears as the surprise attack of a predator.  Taiga had often used that noise herself, but it had been a while that she had encountered another type of predator in the wild.  Was it a gijinka, or the elusive animal?  Taiga looked at the mouth of the cave to see that the armor-clad Scarlet had disappeared from sight.  She ran out of the cave to see Isole hovering in mid-air, in front of a ledge.  Below the ledge, Taiga could see that Scarlet had been dragged down by what appeared to be a leopard.

"These things really confuse me..."  She growled.  A flick in the snow caught her predatory eye, as she saw a small fox with the food bag in it's mouth.  "Ain't nobody gonna steal my hard earned food!"  She yelled before making a mad dash for the fox, and the direction it ran.  Scarlet could handle herself...it was just a dumb animal.

"I'm going to be the very best like no one ever was...and stomp all those idiots who dared to laugh at me! What else is there?"

"Now now, your love-talk can wait, we have to get moving."

Kah turned her attention toward Ankou. With good timing apparently, since the Gardevoir held something out for Kah to take, prompting her to extend her hand out for Ankou to drop something into her hand. A talisman. Shaped like a flame, made of onyx, and warm to the touch. Whatever it was she was about to do, Kah presumed this was important to her task.

"You will need this. You're going to Mioter...alone. But not the city itself. Not yet. You are to go to the far side of the island and find a hidden tunnel. This will allow you to open it. Once there...well you'll find out."

The Hydreigon nodded in response, and answered with a simple "Got it." She was led to a rowboat, before Ankou and Edgelord left her to her own devices. Best to get to work then. Kah seated herself in the boat, reached for one oar with her right hand, then the other with... her arm that didn't have a hand. How am I supposed to row with only one hand? Kah glanced around to try and come up with something on the spot. She was on her own from here until she finished her mission, so it wasn't like she could ask for help. Her eyes stopped at her feet.

...worth a shot. Kah removed her shoes, removed her socks, then put her feet up to the oars. It was uncomfortable to sit like this, and the rowing caused as a result was clumsy at best. Kah kept on thinking as she started rowing, trying to think of some clever way to speed up her progress.

Four days ago, the group had met Lugia. Today, the island on which Mioter rested had finally come into view. Or so Fawkes had thought. Contrary to everything she'd suspected, the city was indeed floating. There was no city on the island at sea level, but looking up revealed a massive chunk of earth floating up above. It was held to the island in front of her by massive chains, and the captain explained that up ahead would be a group of psychic-type gijinkas that could teleport them up into the city itself. Fawkes was simply blown away by the fact that it really was a floating city. She'd seen some sheet lately, but this - rather than fear or anything like that - inspired a sense of awe in the young Zorua.

"What are we waiting for then? Let's go!"

With that, Fawkes started ahead of the rest, checking behind her every so often to make sure she wasn't speeding off too far ahead of the rest of the group.

Ari didn't react much to what the others said until Mac accused Kazo of trying to be lovey-dovey with Melody. The lion shook his head, his urge to defend Kazo overcoming his torpor somewhat. "Kazo wouldn't do th-that. He was just trying to be nice," he sniffled, turning to look at the Gabite. "Right?"

After Melody invited Kazo to go alone with him, Ari clenched his fingers in the dragon-type's jacket. Oh. Well, if Kazo wants that, then that's...fine. No, it's not fine, but, but he knew he was a burden, and he knew he was weak, and he knew he wasn't good enough, and Kazo was so big and strong and brave and why would he want to bring along someone like him, someone who was dead weight no this was bad this was very bad what was he going to do he'd be all alone with just Mac--

Ari closed his eyes and tried to think happy thoughts.

"Yeah..." Fawkes agreed. "Whoever they are, they must be important like Brooke said. I'm sure we'll know them when we see them."

"Maybe..." Easter wasn't so sure. He hadn't recognized Meloetta, after all.

The trip lasted another four days, the wind hastening their journey. Easter chose to spend that time helping the sailors with their tasks. The whirlpool had taken quite a lot out of them, so they didn't protest as much as they normally would, and he appreciated the fact that his body would be too exhausted to focus on other things, such as how being on a ship again caused a familiar upswell of bittersweet feelings. Every so often, his fingers would twitch, and he would whip around, expecting to see a bloodied body, but no--nothing. The others were fine, nobody was badly hurt, it was...fine. Not long after, the anger would come, and then the hate, and then, like the tide, it would recede with the knowledge that he was avenged. The Sylveon would then realize that he had been staring at the waves for a minute or two like this, mop frozen mid-swing. This pattern would repeat multiple times, a sickly familiar song that he tired of hearing.

He was beyond relieved to see land when it finally appeared.

However, much like the S.S. Showdown, the island had two forms, one land-bound and one sky-bound, and Easter could barely make out what looked to be buildings on the latter. Gigantic chains kept it tethered to its sea-swept sibling, as if it were straining to break free. So is it the M in this situation then? The captain explained that there was a cleared off area where they could be teleported to the top. Easter had to admire the efficiency of that, though he didn't envy the ancillaries their job.

"What are we waiting for then? Let's go!" Fawkes started ahead.

The fairy type chuckled, going at an acceptably moderate amble. "Sure, sure, let's." He approached the nearest psychic type and bowed respectfully, keenly aware of his emotional state at the moment--a mixture of relieved and curious. "Greetings, we hail from the mainland, and were blessed to arrive without trouble." He specifically did not linger on that thought in case there was a mind-reader among them. He wasn't sure if they knew or not. Either way, he wouldn't be the one to let the Delcatty out of the bag. "Once we've all gathered, would you and your compeers be so kind as to bring us above?"

"Sand dollars are lame mister, everyone knows that."

Keanu scratched his cheek at that, cursing his genes for the reddish blush that formed. "Oh, hehe." He had been one of those that hadn't known that, had in fact enjoyed that, along with other beachgoing activities such as making sandcastles, exploring tidepools, sheltering baby sea turtles, and of course, surfing.

"I can build a sandcastle...but only if you do it with me mister!"

At that a pair of children, a Trapinch and Gastly, approached, and the three started squabbling over whether girls could build sandcastles or not. All very childish and all very likely to give Keanu a headache if he listened to it much longer. But of course, he had to, being the lifeguard, and of course, the Adarid Poliwag decided to drag him into the beef.

No! "Ehh, sure," the Pikachu said, resisting the urge to slam his head into the lifeguard chair.

Past experience made him really good at building sandcastles, and he decided to give the water type some tips while they worked. "I like to start by digging into the ground first, till I hit da water. Then I don't have to go runnin' back and forth. Also for every scoop of sand you have, you need that much water. Don't let it dry, or it won't stick. But if you don't let it drain, like this," he showed the girl the trough he had dug to drain the water, "then it'll just make a puka--I mean sinkhole. S'why I don't use buckets 'cept to mix the sand and water in advance." He continued on like that, the words flowing from his mouth as he went back in time to when he was a child himself.

In the end, the two of them won with a sandcastle that looked like the Hano Grand Resort, but when the losers begged to be taught how to make sandcastles like that, Keanu showed them as well. A couple children nearby approached curiously, and then more, like Wishiwashi shoaling to a school leader, until he was surrounded on all sides. The Hano Grand Resort was joined by Konikoni's gateway, Wela Volcano, Blush Mountain, and the Vast Poni Canyon. The Pikachu didn't just stick to sandcastles. He migrated to the sea when it became difficult to navigate the shore, what with all the sand sculptures. He enjoyed showing off his ability to run on the water's surface, laughing when the others failed to imitate it, but letting some of the smaller ones piggyback. He made seagull noises and fought an entertaining match against a crab with a stick, showing how once they had grabbed hold of the piece of wood, they wouldn't want to let go.

By the end of the day, he could say he had fun. Even the Poliwag had loosened her vice grip on his arm after some time had passed playing with the other children, though she still wanted to marry him. He promised her he would think about it, but that she shouldn't wait for him. Was a hau'oli day, he thought, chuckling.

"Oh, yeah, I'm sure they're fine!" Fiona said a bit awkwardly, waving her hands. "Not like there's anything we can do anyway, right? Those three are so strong after all. If they can't do it what can we do right?" As she spoke, however, she inched towards the gates of the arena. It seemed that she was also conflicted in whether they should go in or not. Lok nodded awkwardly. "Yeah... Yeah, you're probably right, haha..." He rubbed the back of his neck. "Still, that was a powerful force... can they really handle it?" He let out a sigh. "I guess it doesn't really matter... if they can't handle it, I doubt we'd be able to help. Still..." He glared deep into the arena doors. "I'd like to know if they're ok..."

"... let's give them a few minutes, I think. If they don't come out soon we should at least go and see what's happening. I think that's a good idea." He said, trying to reassure himself.

Icecrown Team Showdown

Scarlet followed the foot prints left by the thief, feeling the sudden rush of cold from the outside. She shuddered as she marched onward, pulling her scarf up to her nose. Suddenly, the deathly silence of the mountain was broken by the snarling sound of some sort of animal. Before anyone could react, a large snow leopard had lept from higher up towards Scarlet, digging its sharp teeth into the girl's shoulder. "AAUGH!" She screamed as the two tumbled down the mountain, landing right next to a deeper fall.

While she was fortunate enough to not have tumbled down the drop, she found herself directly below the snow dwelling predator. It gave her a blood-thirsting look as it bared its teeth at her, slamming its paw directly onto her shoulders. She let out a short yelp in pain, gritting her teeth as the beast's breath blew on her face. Her right shoulder seemed to scream in agony as the leopard applied more force onto it. She grimaced as she stared into the hungry beast's eyes, trying to come up with a plan to get out of her situation. She took a deep breath as the beast let out a roar.

Time seemed to slow down as she brought her legs in towards her self, before thrusting them forward into the predator's chest. Her assailant, not expecting the kick, lost its balance, removing its paws from her shoulders. As it staggered backwards, Scarlet started to get up, rolling away from the edge of the cliff. As she stood up, her eyes seemed to lock on with the leopards, before the large cat lunged forward with its fangs out. This time, however, Scarlet was ready for it. As the beast got close, she launched a punch at the side of its head, knocking it over. The leopard stumbled and rolled towards the cliffside, falling down the mountain. She let out a sigh of relief, before falling to her knees. As the adrenaline started leaving her body, the pain of her injury came rushing in. She could feel the icy temperature bite at her open wound, causing her to wince. She placed her pincer onto it almost instinctively.

"Now why would I go and do that? Babysitting is not exactly my style." Melody said with an indignant sniff, casting her gaze over Ari and Mac. Kazo scratched his cheek in confusion.

"R-really? I thought you were good with kids, y-ya know, how the small army kids tackled you back at the South Inn," Kazo mused. "Although, it's not really b-babysitting, more like---,"

"I know what's going on." Mac said darkly, approaching Kazo and interrupting his train of thought. "You're trying to get on her good side. You're trying to get all...all...lovey-dovey aren't you?" She accused of Kazo. Kazo's face turned a bright red as his mind rapidly processed what was just said. Where did she get that idea? Why the heck did she think he was trying to get 'lovey-dovey'?! Seriously, why?! Did it seem like he was trying to do that?!

"Oh my, your owner doesn't like that does she?" Melody said, her tears gone by now and replaced with a smirk. "Maybe if it were just you and I..." She winked at Kazo, causing Mac to fume even more. Melody wasn't helping matter either! Kazo turned even redder as he began to wave his arms around frantically.

"Kazo wouldn't do th-that. He was just trying to be nice," he heard Ari sniff, turning to look at the Gabite. "Right?" Thank Arcues someone understood.

"Th-that's not wh-what I'm trying do, M-Mac!" he stuttered. "I-it's just... I've done the s-solo Chaser thing. I-it's not easy, a-and it's sure as hell not safe. A-and after what's happened... I figured it'd be best to stick t-together," He sighed and scratched his cheek. "That's only if she wants to come though," Again, he figured he should extend the offer, even though he highly doubted she would come along anyways. He then patted Ari's head before addressing Melody. "Wh-while your offer is... noted... I-I couldn't abandon these...," He looked over at Mac. Well, at this point, he really couldn't. Earlier, he had the excuse of Kah and Suiten. But now? "two. We've been through too much together,"

"I don't see why legendaries wouldn't be able to have children, but I've only heard of one," Easter answered. "Manaphy, Prince of the Sea. Though its offspring don't hold nearly the same power." He thought for a second, "And maybe it is his child, but then that's pretty careless of him to just foist it onto us."

"Guess we're better than nothing, I suppose," Denku stated. "We're not really a normal group anyways," He really didn't have anything else to add, so he walked off to watch over the scenery. It was so peaceful here....

The trip was a peaceful one, which suited Denku just fine. The last few days were just chaos for him, and he really appreciated the rest. He felt bad about doing nothing, however, and attempted to help out. Keyword being attempt. The Syvleon was always a step ahead of him when it came to doing chores. Oh well.

Four days later, they arrived, and it was mind blowing. The city was floating high above the sky, the only thing keeping down to the ground was chains. They even had to be teleported up. Man, that was crazy, and a lot to wrap his mind around.

"What are we waiting for then? Let's go!" To his surprise, it was Fawkes that was the first to run off. Denku chuckled and shook his head before he went to follow her. Time to explore a new town.

As Marie continued to work on the bed, she could tell that she was making good progress here. Her breathing was starting to get a bit heavier, mostly as a result of her overexerting herself from dealing with such a huge set of sheets, but her worksman pride was not allowing her to give way to this fatigue. Just as she was about to finish, however, disaster struck. She could hear a strange creaking noise, and a sudden shift in the covers. While at first she was both confused and dismayed at the covers undoing themselves, her eyes went wide as she saw the wailord starting to move towards her. At first frozen in fear and awe at the sheer size of the person that rolling towards her, the girl then realized that she had to get away from it to not be crushed by them. While she had managed to move away from the bed, one of her arms suddenly felt a large weight press down on it, unable to move herself any further. At first, the girl wasn't really sure what to do. Standing at the bed side, she attempted to yank her arm free by brute force, though was decidedly unable to do so. Staring, the girl's expression became more flat as she looked at the wailord. She couldn't disturb the very important person's sleep, but she couldn't do her job if she was unable to move. A slight panic to set in as the girl tried to wonder what to do in this situation.

While she stood there, a bit dumbfounded, she could feel that the pressure and weight that was on her arm was starting to go away. Which was odd because the wailord wasn't moving any. Immediately thinking this was a bad thing, the girl started to pull harder, but the feeling in her arm was starting to grow number. Thinking that something had to be done, the girl muttered a, "sorry," before firing off a small jet of water from her trapped arm, giving it enough force and slipperiness to finally pull it free. Stumbling back, rolling on the ground, the girl shook her arm out, putting her small aqua veil around her arm to make it heal back up. She then looked back to the bed, both sighing in dismay and beginning to have fear grow in for what she did. Maybe the wailord didn't wake up from that? Or maybe they wouldn't notice! That would be good. She knew she couldn't just fail her first adult job she was given, and so she decided to simply go back to work, trying her best to pretend that nothing just happened.

Team Alola, Day 7, Northshore

Randy

"M-Mission accomplished..."

The Poliwrath looked to Randy, looked at the beach, and back at Randy. He stepped forward until he was right in front of the, taller, man, and slowly, ever so slowly, raised one of his large hands to point at a spot two dozen feet away. Looking over there Randy would see the entire beach was clean...except for a single piece of trash. A broken toy shovel that some kid had been using to dig a hole and then abandoned once it snapped in twain.

"You call that accomplished? Pah! Can't find good help these days...you're dismissed but you will be only getting HALF PAY and NO COMPLAINTS." The Poliwrath sent him along his way with his pay for the day, 100 Poke.

Keanu

"You did an excellent job. Simply excellent." The middle-aged Seadra who had hired him for the job said as his work shift ended. "No one drowned at all! A new record! And the children simply adore you...could I perhaps tempt you with a permanent position?" She glanced the boy up and down and smirked. "Or perhaps....something else?" She leaned in as she said this, fluttering her eyelashes at the young man. Regardless of the response he would be given his 150 Poke for the day, plus a bonus 50.

Marie

When Marie hit the Wailord with water the woman seemed to relax ever so slightly, moving to the side willingly. It didn't seem the woman was about to fall over again but Marie wouldn't have much time before they began to stir again and flail about. There was a very light knock on the door. "You best be done soon sweetie I'm coming in to check in a couple more minutes sweetie."

Team Karaoke, Day 20, Adarid Arena

Jabari stared at Clotilde, his last opponent, as she spoke to him. Why did they all keep trying to talk to hi-

The thought was knocked from his mind as the ground trembled, rolling through the sand and striking Jabari with an extremely powerful attack. He braced himself to Endure the impact but the aftershock that came later broke through.

Jabari fell to his hands and knees, the damage he had taken racking up and causing him to struggle to even stand.

"I...am a warrior. I cannot allow myself to fall again. This is my only chance and I can't let you take it from me." The area once more was covered in his Ion Deluge as he struggled to his feet. He began to launch Shockwaves at the maid. Were she to approach he would assault her, using a startling reserve of energy, with another Trash attack.

-------

"... let's give them a few minutes, I think. If they don't come out soon we should at least go and see what's happening. I think that's a good idea."

Fiona didn't like this. She didn't want to go in there...but she was also uncomfortable with how hesitant he was. This was the one ally she had? This just wouldn't do...They were silent for a couple minutes until Fiona spoke up. "Have you ever considered...form change?" She asked Lok. "I...I know how it could be done, if you were...."

Team Showdown, Day 26, Icecrown

As Taiga took after the fox it began running faster. Though the Sharpedo would be able to keep up just fine. If she continued after it the fox would lead her on a chase that lasted a full twenty minutes, putting distance between her and the others in the group, and would only catch up just as the fox began to dive through the snow and into a small space that would be just big enough for Taiga to enter.

While Scarlet was on her knees in the snow she would start to feel it shift. Soon after she would begin to slide down the mountain, and had started falling off the cliff herself when Isole reached over and grabbed onto her, barely holding her up with her levitation. "...Heavy." She said.

Meanwhile Tianzi, standing near the entrance of the cave, would suddenly be assaulted by a heavy barrage of snow, burying them entirely in the cold, wet, substance.

Team Neo Not Dark, Day 28, Mioter

"What are we waiting for then? Let's go!"

"Yeeeeah goooooooooooooooooooooo!" Dora shouted, staring open-mouthed at the city above her. "I bet I can't even jump that high!"

She pulled and pulled at Brooke, who was lagging behind, attempting to drag the much heavier woman with her...not very successfully.

But they eventually reached their destination.

The Psychic types here were robed and it was hard to tell any defining species features but they didn't seem aggressive in the slightest. In fact the one Easter greeted seemed downright passive as they nodded. "We will transport you. But first, a donation to the temples would be much appreciated." They didn't demand it, nor was it a price of entry, but they did seem to be expecting it, waiting longer for them to donate before getting to work. If there was no donation they would be colder but if any of them donated they'd be much more pleasant.

Either case they would gather the group and they'd feel a tingly sensation as they were suddenly transported.

BGM

Map

The floating city of Mioter is an incredible feat of pure mental power. Held aloft by the high amount of Psychic types in the city, commanded by a charismatic and young leader, it's a wondrous place. The city is well known for its devotion to the Legends and its has the most, and largest, temples in all the land. There are temples for nearly all of the Legends, though the most popular is for Jirachi. Other than temples the city is known for its impressive variety of stores, with an entire section of the city dedicated for battle items, and its school. The only place in the whole region dedicated to teaching such a large amount of children.

The group would arrive in a large, dimly lit, room with a trio of Dark type Gijinka, a Houndoom, Drapion, and Absol, watching over the place. The Absol approached the group first and, in a somewhat cold tone, welcomed them to the city and, more specifically, to the headquarters of the Shadow Guard. He then warned them not to cause any trouble or they'd be cast out.

He directed them out of the room and told them that all newcomers must first meet the leader of the Shadow Guard before being allowed to step foot into the city proper.

They were brought to another room, circular, and empty but for a stone slab in the center. Upon the slab was a Gijinka who was meditating upon the rock. As the group approached he would open his eyes and look at them. His gaze even colder than the Absol's. "You are the first visitors we have had in a long time. Why did you come to our city?"

Upon answering the man would mull over their words and then let out a grunt. "I sense nothing dangerous from you at this moment. Feel free to enter our city. If I hear any complaints you will see me again. But if there isn't anything pressing be gone from my sight. I must continue my meditation."

Team Mac, Day 15, Southshore

"Kazo wouldn't do th-that. He was just trying to be nice,"

"Oh Ari, you just don't know yet. I've seen it before. Boys can be very stupid when it comes to pretty girls." She glanced over at Melody. "Not that she's so pretty anyway." She added.

"Th-that's not wh-what I'm trying do, M-Mac!" Kazo stuttered. "I-it's just... I've done the s-solo Chaser thing. I-it's not easy, a-and it's sure as hell not safe. A-and after what's happened... I figured it'd be best to stick t-together," He sighed and scratched his cheek. "That's only if she wants to come though, Wh-while your offer is... noted... I-I couldn't abandon these...,two. We've been through too much together,"

Melody almost smiled. "Look I don't want my style cramped okay? I can't be seen with them. You...you just keep on doing what you're doing and...well...It's not like any of us are going to get any stronger if we don't try and make it on our own."

With that she leaned up and kissed Kazo's cheek. "Take care." she muttered without looking at him. She then left, with an extra sway in her steps.

"See? We don't need her." Mac said. "We're going to become the strongest on our own." Her stomach rumbled. "Now let's get going!" She said, a bit louder in an attempt to cover up the sound, "I'm sure you all are hungry and tired."

Kah

It took a long while, and she was more than exhausted by the time she got to the island, but she made it. The island itself was...rather unremarkable, though the chains that held the island in place were quite impressive. It would take her a day of exploring, and avoiding the Psychics that were at the teleportation station, to finally find what she was looking for. But eventually she would stumble across a symbol etched on a seemingly normal stone. The same symbol she had been given.

A beam of light would come from the symbol and connect to the stone. As it did the ground would open up with a low rumble and Kah would find herself by a large platform. Once she stepped onto it it would lower slowly into the earth.

After fifteen minutes it would open up into...a rather unusual, seemingly Gijinka-made, cavern. The sights she would see would confuse, excite, and even frighten, her but she would be drawn deeper into this mysterious place. Deeper. Deeper...

Finally she would find herself at a door. A massive structure made of black stone that would open up several minutes after she reached it.

In the room, sitting on a throne at the other end, was a Houndoom Gijinka. His chin rested on his hand, and his arm was itself resting on one of the arms of the throne. He looked bored, unimpressed, as Kah came in. She would feel something the closer she got to him. An awe and reverence that she couldn't understand. "I am Kura, of the Godslayers." He said at last. "Ankou told me she'd be sending me a minion. I did not expect such a pathetic individual. What do you think you could possibly do for me?"

Randy exhaled a few times, before noticing the Poliwrath now standing in front of him. Needless to say, the Incineroar was getting pretty worried. He glanced up and saw the gijinka slowly lift his large hand and began to point. Oh Arceus please no...no..no...no... he thought, swallowing hard before slowly turning to face the direction where the Poliwrath was pointing. He immediately had zero expression on his face to see what was being pointed at.

A broken toy shovel. Where the hell did that even come from!? It couldn't have just been missed over in the whole ordeal! Randy made sure to double...triple check even, just to make sure he didn't miss anything. Once he saw it, he swallowed hard once more.

"You call that accomplished? Pah! Can't find good help these days...you're dismissed but you will be only getting HALF PAY and NO COMPLAINTS."

Randy was dumbfounded for a few moments, as he got up and just looked at the Poké he received. It was half pay...just because he missed one piece of trash. One he didn't even notice at the beginning. Oh how the Incineroar wanted to chew the Poliwrath out right now, but two things were playing a factor: 1. He DID need the Poké and right now, he took the job knowing that he'd be working under someone like this, and 2. The gijinka in question WAS in fact a Water Type, so that played a factor heavily.

With Poké in his hand, he walked off and sat down on a bench to wait for Keanu. Sighing heavily, Randy shook his head. Jeez...this blows. I got rid of ALL that trash...and for what, a stupid broken toy shovel to be my downfall? Tch...I bet I did 10x better than any other help that ass has had. he thought, grumbling lowly.

"Look I don't want my style cramped okay?" Melody explained. Kazo tilted his head a bit, confused. Well, just because he hadn't seen her style didn't mean she didn't have one, but... how would Mac and Ari--- oh. Would it be because people would think they were a family and she couldn't flirt or something? That was the best explanation he had. Honestly, he could see where she was coming from. "I can't be seen with them. You...you just keep on doing what you're doing and...well...It's not like any of us are going to get any stronger if we don't try and make it on our own."

Kazo nodded, still worried for her, but before he could say anything else, she leaned up and kissed his cheek. "Take care." she muttered without looking at him. She then left, with an extra sway in her steps. Kazo was left stunned in his tracks, his face and neck now a complete red. Man, if only the people in Juyu could see him now. Heck, he knew Sai would be having a field day with this.

"See? We don't need her." Mac said. "We're going to become the strongest on our own." Her stomach rumbled. "Now let's get going!" She said, a bit louder in an attempt to cover up the sound, "I'm sure you all are hungry and tired." Mac's voice raised him out of his stupor. He watched Mac leave before shaking his head and following after her. It was funny to think that they just ate not too long ago, but they were going for a second round. Oh crap. He'd have to pay huh? That... oh boy. He better figure out a way to make money.

"Looks like this dysfunctional family rides off again," Kazo joked as he followed Mac. He looked onto his shoulders. "Hey Ari, are you okay...? We never really got to check on you after the battle. Are you hurt?"

"We will transport you. But first, a donation to the temples would be much appreciated." The psychics stated to the group. Denku rubbed his chin. Yeah, that seemed fair enough. They were taking them to the city, after all. He... didn't have much though. But... he could spare some, he supposed.

"Here, then, for your temples," He said, passing over 100 pokes. Now he only had 400 left... he'd have to be careful.  Not only a few seconds later did he suddenly feel tingly... and the group was teleported away. The room they landed into a dim room, a trio of Dark Types in the room as well. An Absol approached them, and in a tone that could produce snow, welcomed them to the city. They were then warned of the fact if they caused trouble, they would be cast out. Denku shook his head as a feeling of deja vu filled him. It was like he was back in the Pride Lands. Why did he keep coming to the worst cities?!

They were lead into another room, where a gijinka was meditating on a--- that was Jabari, wasn't it? Well, not the actual Jabari, but like, if people corresponded with people in the Pride Lands, this guy would totally be Jabari. Fun.

"You are the first visitors we have had in a long time. Why did you come to our city?" The gijinka asked.

"Well, we're on a journey, and this city floats. It's kinda somewhere we'd want to visit," Denku stated. "But besides that, I'm looking for my family member. A floating city seems like a place he'd want to visit,"

"I sense nothing dangerous from you at this moment. Feel free to enter our city. If I hear any complaints you will see me again. But if there isn't anything pressing be gone from my sight. I must continue my meditation."

"Alright, have fun with that," Denku stated. He then turned to the Absol. "Hey, is there like a marketplace or something? If you point me in the direction of it, I'll get out of your hair. Might as well start my search in a logical place,"

Between all the rowing and sneaking around - neither of which were things Kah was particularly amazing at - Kah was feeling rather irritable today. She even had to eat her spelon berries to keep her hunger in check. She'd been saving those for if she had to fight Edgelord again, but at this rate it seemed that wouldn't be the case at all. So she ate the berries, because it was that or ponder how her severed hand tasted. Even if it was dragon-type flesh, she couldn't imagine it as tasting very good. That, however, was not important to her mission. Eventually, she found what she was looking for. On an otherwise-normal rock, a symbol was etched in that resembled the amulet Ankou had given her. The amulet even turned that humble rock into a small entrance. A platform, that once she stepped on it, descended into the earth.

Down, down, down... How far down does this thing go?

After some time, she was brought down to a cavern. It certainly wasn't a place lacking in sights to see. After heading deep enough, she was met with a door. And behind the door, a room, with a Houndoom gijinka sitting on a throne across from her.

"I am Kura, of the Godslayers. Ankou told me she'd be sending me a minion. I did not expect such a pathetic individual. What do you think you could possibly do for me?"

Something about this Kura person. For some reason, he was someone to look up to. Kah didn't get it. More importantly, he'd asked a question. What Kah could do for him. "I can fight," she answered. "I can fight, and I can kill. There are no pathetic dragons, let alone of my breed."

"We will transport you. But first, a donation to the temples would be much appreciated."

Fawkes was considering making a donation. But what if she needed the money down the line? That, and it was still a gut feeling that what was hers was hers. Fawkes wanted to work on that a bit. She'd reached for her wallet to make a donation, but Denku was one step ahead of her, giving them a bit of money before they sent the group up to the city. Fawkes was expecting to be dropped into the midst of a bustling city of psychic-types, but instead, she was in a room with the rest of her group and three other dark-types. An Absol, a Drapion, and a Houndoom. The Absol was the first to approach the group, welcoming them to Mioter but explaining that they had to meet the leader of the Shadow Guard before going into the city proper. With that, they were brought to another room.

There was only one other person there. A Spiritomb. His gaze was colder than any Fawkes could recall seeing. He wasn't someone she wanted to get on the bad side of.

"You are the first visitors we have had in a long time. Why did you come to our city?"

"Well, we're on a journey, and this city floats. It's kinda somewhere we'd want to visit. But besides that, I'm looking for my family member. A floating city seems like a place he'd want to visit."

After Denku had answered, Fawkes followed up with a small nod and a "I didn't even think something like this could exist. We're just here to take a short break on our journey, and also to maybe find his family."

"I sense nothing dangerous from you at this moment. Feel free to enter our city. If I hear any complaints you will see me again. But if there isn't anything pressing be gone from my sight. I must continue my meditation."

"Thank you." While Denku was asking the Absol about a marketplace - something Fawkes kept an ear open about - the Zorua's attention was instead at the Spiritomb and his meditating. What does meditating do anyway?

"Oh Ari, you just don't know yet. I've seen it before. Boys can be very stupid when it comes to pretty girls." She glanced over at Melody. "Not that she's so pretty anyway." She added.

Ari felt a bit confused at that, but he didn't feel motivated enough to ask why she thought that way.

Kazo scrambled to explain himself, since the girls seemed to have some sort of misunderstanding. But...hearing him say that he wouldn't abandon him...that made him feel really, really happy. Ari clenched his fingers tighter in the jacket, blinking back tears of relief.

Melody smiled, turning down his offer, before...kissing Kazo on the cheek. Which was a bit gross, but Ari was just happy he wasn't leaving them.

"See? We don't need her." Mac said. "We're going to become the strongest on our own." Her stomach rumbled. "Now let's get going! I'm sure you all are hungry and tired."

The Litleo wondered, tiredly, why the Helioptile had to be that way. It was obvious she was the hungry one out of them all, so why did she have to hide it?

"Looks like this dysfunctional family rides off again," Kazo joked as he followed Mac. He looked onto his shoulders. "Hey Ari, are you okay...? We never really got to check on you after the battle. Are you hurt?"

"I'm...fine," he muttered, looking down at Kazo's jacket. I'm not, really, but does that matter? There's no medicine for weakness.

"We will transport you. But first, a donation to the temples would be much appreciated."

Easter stared at the psychic type before asking what gods the temples were dedicated to. He wasn't the biggest fan of the legendaries, but after hearing about Jirachi, his face lightened, and he handed over 50 Poké without much thought. He noticed that Denku had also donated, briefly wondering if there was a particular legend that he was thinking of, or if he were just that type of gijinka.

They were then led into a room where a Spiritomb was meditating. He seemed wholly uninterested in their group. Easter wasn't sure whether he should be annoyed or relieved, and settled on annoyed.

"You are the first visitors we have had in a long time. Why did you come to our city?" The gijinka asked.

Fawkes and Denku gave their responses. Easter merely shrugged and replied with, "Going along for the ride." He wasn't particularly interested in explaining his reasoning to these gijinka, nor to anybody, if he were being honest.

Denku was asking the Absol where the marketplace was, while Easter glanced around the room. His eyes lingered on the Absol, remembering with a hint of wistfulness one Absol in particular. I wonder how she's doing? If all went well, he would meet her again, and he would challenge her to a fight this time.

"You did an excellent job. Simply excellent." The middle-aged Seadra who had hired Keanu for the job said as his work shift ended. "No one drowned at all! A new record!" the words caused the Pikachu's eyes to widen, disturbed. Drowning was...a regular basis here? "And the children simply adore you...could I perhaps tempt you with a permanent position?" She glanced the boy up and down and smirked. "Or perhaps....something else?" She leaned in as she said this, fluttering her eyelashes at the young man.

Keanu floundered for a moment in embarrassment and shock. As it was, his cheeks were bright red, but he still managed to summon a smile. "Sorry, ma'am, but ya know, can't mix business with pleasure. Now, if you wanted to meet up for coffee on the side..." She wasn't half-bad looking, after all. He was delighted to receive 200 Poké in total, and was whistling as he approached the bench Randy sat on.

"So how'd you do?" he asked cheerfully, then paused at the dour look the Incineroar wore. "That bad, huh?" he winced.

As he walked out into the outside of the cave, Tianzi noticed the presnce of a fox carrying their stuff not long after Scarlet fell to her demise...not, but a moment of him blanking out made him unable to realize the danger lurking nearby. She stood just in position to be buried by a sudden avalanche from the unstable snow. Mount Icecrown used Avalanche! It's super effective! Tianzi fainted! Those thoughts passed throughout his mind as he felt his bone breaking and the chill seeping into himself moments before she lost consciousness.

Only to regain it a moment later, and before the avalanche crushed her again a second time, the excess of psychic energy from her revival was used by her to teleport her just outside of the snowpile burying her. Four uses left today. Tianzi then went towards Scarlet's position, and it seemed that she's doing pretty badly so far. Noticing Isole helping her, TIanzi then went to her side and helped her hold the Scizor and started to pull her up. In the meantime, Tianzi silently used Power Swap to trade her miniscule strength with Scarlet's for the time being.

It's a bit rude, but well, any way to help. It'd suck to see one of her traveling companions fell to her death this early in the group's journey.

Adarid Again/ ~

"How persistent!" Even after tanking what was effectively two earthquakes in a row, the Zebstrika withstood it. Clotilde could certainly try again but the returning Shock Wave would knock her unconscious, which she would rather avoid. Instead, using another Protect to receive the full brunt of the electricity seemed to be the best course of action. Her joints were aching from even the slightest movement from all the previous consecutive uses but it really was her only option, unless she was willing to use one of the three downed combatants' bodies as a shield. However the side-effect of Protect would also render her immobile, possibly long enough for the Zebstrika to launch yet another strike that she would have to risk Protecting from again. Protecting herself would only lead into a painful loop that she could not uphold very long.

Clotilde squatted down and shifted her body so that her right arm and leg covered her head and vitals from the incoming wave. There, she waited for the moment the Shock Wave would reach her, and tried to activate Protect such that it would only take effect on her right side. At the same time, she tapped the ground with her left foot, sending another wave of earthquake that would hopefully hit the Zebstrika while the half-Protect would hopefully work.

In the heat of the moment, she even forgot to include an Aftershock effect to the quake.

While the girl was trying to catch her breath now that her arm was free, her breathing went a bit still as the Wailord started to stir a bit. Letting out a sigh of relief, as the gijinka seemed to be still asleep, she then jolted to attention as she heard the knocking on the door. As the older lady's voice rang through the door, Marie's eyes, slightly panicked, looked over to the bed. With most of her work having been undone, she wasn't entirely sure how she was going to get this job done. Standing still for a bit, somewhat lost in thought, she then shook herself back and decided to get back to work. Saying, "um, uh, yeah, I, uh, just a few more minutes." She could barely stammer out. She then scurried over to the bed and did her best to try and get the covers over the Wailord as fast as she could.

"So how'd you do?"

Randy looked up some, seeing the quite cheery Pikachu approaching him, only to immediately pause at seeing the obvious dour look he was wearing on his face.

"That bad, huh?"

"Welp, let's see..." he began to slowly sit up and cross his arms. "I get there, and I find out immediately this Poliwrath guy is already yelling at me. Nothing new for me, but its still pretty annoying. But I start getting the trash picked up and immediately start missing stuff, for reasons I'll let ya know in a sec." Randy shook his head, watching Keanu sitting beside him. "So the first time, I was told to do about fifty push ups. Again, nothing out of the ordinary."

He took a pause before sighing greatly. "Then comes the FUN part." he growled. "The guy gives me sixty seconds to pick up the bulk of the trash or no pay. I literally jumped and weaved through the vendors AND beach patrons in order to pick up the trash, before noticing that guy right there!" Randy stopped for a short second and pointed at the Garbador that he had previously dealt with. "Most of the trash I was missing was cause of that guy! Either way...I got him to stop and sit down rather than walk and eat. Plus at the same time, got rid of the trash by giving it to him. Ya think, awesome, job finished and I'm getting paid!"

Randy's face turned a bit more sour before he grumbled a bit. "One...little...broken...toy shovel." he simply said. "I missed...ONE broken toy...and he gave me half pay!!" He just wanted to let out a loud yell and get really pissed, but what was the use right now. Instead, he sighed extremely heavily, before glancing at Keanu. "Enough about my crap...what about you, Keanu? How was life guard duty?"

Adarid Team Karaoke

"Have you ever considered...form change?" Lok tilted his head slightly, before recalling someone talking about that back in his home town. At the time, he did't fully understand what they meant, and honestly he wasn't quite sure about it now. He nodded his head, visibly confused.  "I...I know how it could be done, if you were...." She trailed off. "A form change?" He thought to himself. It didn't sound very pleasant, and he wasn't quite sure what it fully meant. His train of thought was cut short by shockwaves of the earth shaking below him, directing his attention to the arena. He thought about how he wasn't able to help his friends because of his weakness. "If it'll make me stronger, then..." He took a deep breath, before turning to Fiona. "I don't know exactly what you're going on about..." He turned back to the arena. "but if it lets me be helpful to my friends, then I'm in." He turned back to Fiona. "So... what exactly is form change?"

Icecrown Team Showdown

As she winced in pain, Scarlet felt the ground below her to start shifting. Without much warning, the snow below her dragged her down towards where the animal had fallen. She barely managed to toss her arms onto the mountain side to slow her descent. Isole had rushed in to help her get up, although from her struggle it was clear that she alone wasn't going to be able to carry Scarlet up. She could probably carry herself up under difference circumstances, but any attempt to do so send a surge of pain through her shoulder.

Suddenly, Tianzi appeared and started helping Isole. As the Xatu grabbed onto her pincers, Scarlet felt something strange inside of her. Like someone was draining the muscle out of her. She could also feel herself start moving towards the duo ever so slightly. Acting quickly, Scarlet fluttered her wings as fast as possible and, using her minimal strength, pulled herself up as much as she could. She grit her teeth as her arm screamed in agony, threatening to snap off at any moment. Luckily, her arm managed to stay in one piece as Scarlet plopped onto the snow, barely avoiding falling down. She let out a gasp of air, before breathing heavily. "Thanks..." She managed to say, although it was partially muffled by the snow. Despite her best attempts, she could not get herself off of the ground. Instead, she laid there, letting her wings rest. Her bleeding shoulder made the snow almost as red as the scizor was; the wound stung from the icy cold snow it was rubbing up against. Still, she was relieved that she was not dead.

Team Showdown

"Get back here with my stuff you little rat!  When I catch you, you're going to become part of what's inside that bag!!!!!!"  Taiga said, as she was easily able to keep pace with the fox she was chasing.  However, each of her attempts to grab the thing were thwarted with a quick dodge.  This only led Taiga to continue the chase, she wouldn't let this furry freak get the best of her!  It almost felt like an eternity, before the fox decided that it wasn't going to shake Taiga off of it's trail.  It bailed, and jumped into a rather generously large hole in the snow.  When Taiga came up to it, she placed her hands on her hips, a disapproving smirk on her face.  She looked behind her, noticing that she may have lost sight of the objective a tad.  She must've been running for a good long while now.

"What?  You scared now you filthy animal?  Well I don't give up that easy!"  Taiga took a diver's pose, before hopping into the hole herself.  There was enough wiggle room for her to squeeze through, but just barely.  "Just you wait you....you...I'm running out of insults here.  Whatever!  Like you even understand anyways!"
