Adarid Team Karaoke

Lok watched in horror as the icicle impaled the young leader, killing him on the spot. His attention was kept by the Durant, whom was chasing down the remaining stragglers and brutally sending them to the dirt. He had barely heard what anyone around him said, but he followed as the group started making their way away from the elite soldiers. As he walked he turned back to the soldiers, specifically the Durant who seemed to be returning from his chase. He could see blood on the hands of the steel-clad soldiers as he got farther and farther away.

"The political climate here is unpleasant. The ruler of this city does not hold a good reputation, but he does command a strong army. That is not a combination that would lead to much good. You all witnessed for yourselves when we met, how violent the gangs were. That level of chaos was unusual but the anxiety behind it was not." Lok nodded in understatement, his mind still lingering on what had just happened. His attention was brought back to them, however, as Clotilde finished her sentence. Her condition was clearly taking its toll on her as she gestured the group to continue. "Yeah, it would probably be best for us to leave here as quickly as we can." Silently, Lok continued onward, trying to clear his mind. Nine was right, they had to focus on leaving here as soon as possible. Taking a deep breath, he continued onward.

Juyu Team Showdown

"It is understandable for either of you to not notice my humble presence here while you are locked in your fierce combat. If my person here is being obstructive, then heed me no mind, you shall continue with your honorable duel." Scarlet helped the stranger up as they spoke. Apparently, they were trying to rob them while they were fighting. As they were talking, Scarlet noticed that the sky seemed to be getting darker. "Now that I've said that, may I ask about your names, fine ladies?"

"My name is Scarlet. What's..." She was cut off "You two seemed to be travelers, and I am interested to know where you are going next, on the interest that I might be able to tag in with you, and subsequently mug your group midway before running away with your money. I jest, of course. That would be quite unbecoming of me. But where are my manners? I have to introduce myself first. My name is Tianzi. I am a traveler myself, on a journey across this land for a personal reason. Shall we find another place to talk however? The sky seemed to be not in approval of us standing here right now." The more the Xatu spoke, the more it intrigued Scarlet. Tianzi definitely had an interesting way to talk. "Are you daft, pea brain? That city doesn't have a solid structure in the place...good luck finding shelter from the rain." Scarlet turned to Taiga, seeing her rub her arm. "Take it up with Red here. She's the," Taiga put her fingers and provided air quotes, "Team Leader. Blech." Scarlet couldn't help but let out a sigh as making her way back to the town. It seemed that her plan of trying to calm her down with battle had done the complete opposite. "I'm gonna go find Ice. See what she thinks of the whole ordeal." Scarlet nodded, before turning back to Tianzi "She's right - it'll be difficult to find a good shelter considering how ravaged the town is." She gestured the Xatu to follow her. "Still, it'll be better than nothing, right? Let's get going."

Brooke was back in her element. Shopping, inventory, markets (or the remnants thereof); falling back into step with it all was like donning a familiar cloak. She lead them--’them’ being Easter, Fawkes, and Dora, because Denku stayed back to find a place to sleep--on the shopping trip with the barest hint of a smile on her face. Once they ventured a bit further into town, it became obvious that not very many vendors were open. In fact, a lot of them weren’t even standing. Brooke’s heart went out to them, because she had gone through losing her business not but a week ago, and it still hurt to think about it.

"Probably trying to recover from the attack," Easter chimed in.

Brooke nodded, holding Dora on her hip to make sure the little gijinka didn’t wander away. “I never thought that I’d live to meet a legendary… now I just wish I hadn’t,” she said wistfully, watching the survivors shuffle about, scraping together what little they could from the wreckage Kyurem had left behind. It reminded Brooke so much of the night Deku had fallen, reopened wounds that were still too fresh for her to fully deal with. She held Dora tighter and kept walking, looking for any shops that were open.

Easter wandered off in search of candy at some point, leaving her alone with Fawkes and Dora. They spent a bit just searching for Fawkes’ MooMoo Milk, but found nothing, causing Fawkes to ask, “Come to think of it, do we need to buy warm clothes if we're leaving Coldharbour tomorrow? Just a warm hotel room for the night would work just as well, right?"

Brooke stopped walking to face her, and shook her head. “Trying to save me some Poke?” she asked, smirking. “Not that I don’t like your thinking, kiddo, but we aren’t just looking for new clothes because they’re warm. All of us’re in pretty dire need of a change of clothes, don’tcha think?” She patted Fawkes on the shoulder reassuringly. “Besides, I promised to buy you some new clothes when you first got to my house, remember? Can’t be making a liar out of me, can we?”

She ruffled Fawkes’ hair, and then they were back to searching for their supplies. Given enough time, they managed to find a decent amount of what Brooke was looking for: a) food, mostly canned goods, b) a few sets of clothes, for both Dora and Fawkes, and c) a Burn Heal to treat her own wounds. It totalled roughly 325 Poke, leaving Brooke at around 800 Poke in total, a fact that she didn’t share with the rest of the group.

“Anything else, or you all ready to turn in for the night?” she asked, carrying several bags from her shopping haul. It wasn’t very heavy, but it had forced her to put Dora down.

"She's right - it'll be difficult to find a good shelter considering how ravaged the town is."

"Ah, indeed! Truly the condition of this city would be quite unsuitable for us now to find shelter - such shelters should be for the residents here too in the first place. As travelers we have no right to have it over them. Pardon my humble self for being too carried away earlier, even though I had been hollered up in this city for a while and assisted the fine residents here with the reconstruction, it seemed that my mind harkened back too much to the state of other cities, like the beautiful city of Adarid where I came from.

So, Miss Scarlet, isn't it? Truly, meeting you here is quite a wondrous event - I wonder if this has been fated by the heavens above. Your friend the shark was quite rough, wasn't she? At the very least I am of absolute certainty that she's not up to no good, and I believe she was quite a wonderful ally for you to have, wasn't she?

Ah, as now I'm following you, perhaps I may inquire more about this "Ice" your friend was talking about? And perhaps, may I ask about the reasons of your travels? It tickles my curiosity membranes, truly. Lovely ladies like you two, traveling through this continent at this time of peril. I myself only am doing this for the sake of seeking the trail of Legends, so to be said. I might appear weak and small, but inside I'm as weak as small as you can see me - this humble me is just good at pretending that yours truly has the capability far exceeding my lithe and unassuming frame. A double-blind of trickery, if I might say so.

So, where are we going now, Lady Scarlet?"

Team Karaoke, Day 22, Adarid City

Gwen stared at the soldiers in dismay. But why? That wasn't necessary. It was all over already and...and he was so young. Why had it come to that?
And the others...they just accepted it. Clotilde's explanation made sense but...but why was this just accepted as the way things were? A life was taken just like that...But what could she do about it? Fight them? Was violence really the only answer in this place?

She barely noticed their surroundings as the guard shakily led them away. Her mind was reeling and she was feeling faint. There was just so much death these days...it wasn't like this back home, right? Why was the rest of the region so...violent?

She found herself drifting to the side, dizziness overtaking her. Something came to mind. Claws. Dark claws. Red eyes. Hunger. Intense hunger. Absolute fear...

Gwen woke up with a start, having fallen to the ground and blacking out for a brief time. She looked around wildly and set her gaze on Fiona. The girl was looking at her curiously. Not with concern but with...realization?

The look passed as Fiona quickly adopted a more concerned look. "Oh my, Gwen too, now? We should hurry."

They reached their destination before the sun went down. It seemed to be the training field for the soldiers and guards. A large stretch of land that had contained things such as targets, obstacle courses, and the like.
But now all that was pushed to the side as it was a makeshift camp. Near the center of it was their destination. A massive tent with which had a harried, but determined, Audino girl who was attending to two dozen sick Gijinka at once.

"Oh, Xerneas, another? Come in, please, find a cot, I will be with you shortly."

Team Mac, Day 15, Southshore

"So, this is all your skill you got from the Arena thingy you keep talking about? Are these skills how you won all your fights? It's incredible, really. You must have had your brother Dragon Dancing on the sidelines for you all the time, No wonder why the people hated you. You couldn't win a match without cheating, You're a fraud, and killing Latios with the same underhanded tactics isn't going to change a damn thing,"

Ryu tilted his head at Kazo's words. "You think I haven't heard all that before? That's just it, squirt." Never before had the word "squirt" been said with such venom. "People don't give a damn about anyone else. The moment they see something that they might be able to use to make themselves feel better about their sad lives by tearing another down they take it. So why should I care? You're no different than those curs. That poor Litleo is gonna find out the hard way that his hero is nothing more than a punk bastard."

Ryu was in front of Kazo in an instant, slashing a large wound in the Dragon's side. Another claw swipe hit Kazo at the side of the head. And then he was grabbed by the face and slammed into the dirt. "You thought provoking me would be a good idea? I'll just rip your head off and move on to each of your little friends. You're all going to die today. Welcome to the real world, and goodbye."

Ken was sent backwards by the sudden forceful blast of electricity. The brat was doing more damage than he would have expected. How was that even possible? It had to be the influence of that one.

Ken looked towards Suiten as the Samurott launched another blast of ice. Ken attacked with Hydro Pump. It didn't stop the ice entirely but it forced it to shift around the torrent of water and only barely clipped the Salamence.

Still, this wasn't good. They could win, but they had to be sure to take out Latias before anything else.

As Mac moved to kick the Salamence, Ken grabbed her by the ankle and whipped her at Suiten.

Glancing over at Latias, Ken grunted in surprise as he saw the Hydreigon attacking her. Well, that would help end this quickly. He rushed towards Latias, wings spread and prepared to hit her from behind with a Wing Attack while Kah attacked from the other side.

However as Kah went to strike Latias she'd notice something interrupt her, a solid body, almost like steel, and a hard strike landed upon her forehead.

Ken noticed something amiss as he saw not one but three new figures darting on the scene. He couldn't slow down now though he was almost...

He felt three attacks, like blades across his body, land on him. He didn't even have time to cry out before he dropped to the ground.

A voice sounded. Commanding, powerful, and angry.

"Latias. We're sorry we could not arrive in time to save your brother. However we can give him one thing."

Three figures stood upon the dock, and they all cried out a single word in unison. "Justice!"

Ryu stared in shock as he saw his brother cut down in seconds. Letting out a pain filled roar he took the to skies. He must...he must...he must kill them all!
"Brother." He heard, weakly. "There are too many...We failed...just...run...please."

Ryu cringed as tears fell from his face. If that was what his brother wanted...he'd swallow his pride. For now. "Before my end I will see every one of you dead." He growled before speeding away, the boosts from the Dragon Dances making it impossible to catch up.

Mac stared at the trio in awe. Then her gaze slowly turned to Suiten, wondering what his reaction to this surprise would be.

Team Neo Not Dark, Day 15, Coldharbour

Mr. Funny Name decided he wanted to nap. That was okay. Naps were nice. Dora, though, couldn't find it in her to nap. She was just too full of energy. She wiggled around in Brooke's grip as the woman talked about legendaries. "Alien Friend was nice though, wasn't she? Wasn't she, Brooke?" Dora squirmed around so that she was looking up at Brooke.

She then began to giggle at the strange feeling of being upside down. And decided to stay like that for the rest of the trip.

Until she had to be set down. At which point she immediately began running around the group. "Buying things buying things buuuuying thiiiiiings" she sang.

Brooke wanted to know if they wanted anything else. Dora had to think about it. Very very hard. Then began jumping up and down. "I want....fish! No wait popsicle! NO, WAIT. FISHSICLE!"

Team Showdown, Day 20, Juyu

Taiga would find "Ice" speaking with a rather young looking bird girl. Well, speaking wasn't the proper way of saying it. It seemed that Isole was the one being spoken too. And Isole seemed to be clearly having trouble getting away from said girl. She was just nodding along abscently to whatever it was the girl was saying.

She was almost relived to see Taiga. "Hello." Isole said. "I have learned some things...Where's Scarlet?"

Once the group was gathered, with Isole giving the newcomer a weird look, she explained what she had learned about Fryst. The existence, and death, of Regice, and the strange Gijinka who seemed to be on some kind of mission to get revenge. She then stated that, from her information gathering, the best places to go would be the mountains that could take them around the city of Adarid, the dangerous but possibly rewarding Mount Icecrown, and the land of Pride Rock, which evidently had some sort of war ending recently.

I've got you n--

POW!

Kah felt something powerful strike her forehead, reeling her back and pushing her under the water's surface briefly. When she resurfaced, three figures were standing at the docks, and behind them, she could see one of the Salamence twins was dead.

"Latias. We're sorry we could not arrive in time to save your brother. However we can give him one thing. Justice!"

Kah didn't recognize them. They were no dragons, but they were definitely something of a higher caliber than your average gijinka. And since they'd targeted the twins, and were aiming to avenge Latios, they were definitely not Godslayers. Which meant...more legendaries. What sort of legend hotspot was this town? Kah's expression twisted and sank. If she stayed and continued her assault on Latias - especially with the other twin having retreated - she'd effectively be fighting a one-on-eight fight. Her versus four legendaries, and the group she got here with. There was a line between confidence and stupidity, and even Kah knew trying to fight would cross that line far into stupid territory.

On the other hand, was running away even a viable option right now? Latias was definitely going to be faster than her, so if she chose to fight, Kah was effectively dead. Not to mention these newcomers had seen Kah's attempts on the dragon legend's life, and were too fast for Kah to even see as they attacked her, so it stood to reason that they could definitely outrun her. Plus, if she ran away, who knew what kind of punishment that Gardevoir would have in mind? Kah definitely couldn't fight her if it came down to that.

For the first time in her life, Kah genuinely felt that she was in danger. That she could very well die here. Like a forest fire that was promptly extinguished, Kah's aggression quickly subsided, as her hands were raised in the air above her head. "I surrender," she reluctantly muttered. "I won't explain my actions to anyone but Latias herself, but I know I can't win here. I can't fight all of you, and I can't run away. Just...don't kill me. Doing so wouldn't avenge Latios. My fight was purely with Latias. If I have to die anyway, don't let it be in front of the whelps at least. They've seen enough." With that, she started swimming again, past Latias, and past the docks. Hopefully they had honor enough to accept a surrender.

If you want to hear about it, Latias, come with me, she thought. Hopefully the legends about mind-reading were true.

Poké: 800

Inventory: Dusk Stone

"Trying to save me some Poke? Not that I don’t like your thinking, kiddo, but we aren’t just looking for new clothes because they’re warm. All of us’re in pretty dire need of a change of clothes, don’tcha think? Besides, I promised to buy you some new clothes when you first got to my house, remember? Can’t be making a liar out of me, can we?"

"I want....fish! No wait popsicle! NO, WAIT. FISHSICLE!"

"Now that you mention it..." Fawkes opened up a bag at her side, revealing its contents to Brooke. It was a ragged little thing, with some holes here and there, but it served its purpose. Short of a smaller bag containing her money and a single Dusk Stone, the bag was empty. "I'm out of Moo Moo Milk. And I probably need a new bag; this one's been through a lot." Especially in these last few days.

Nine continued along with the rest of the group, the atmosphere still a bit somber from what they had seen, until something else had happened to them. Hearing a slight thud against the ground, Nine turned around to see that Gwendoline had collapsed onto the ground. While Fiona was the first to show concern at her tumble, Nine soon walked over to the woman, offering her his hand. "Are you feeling alright, Gwendoline?" As Nine had aided in getting the woman back up, he was briefly reminded of the last time they had been in Adarid. While it was less loud this time, she had certainly passed out when they were here earlier. He wondered whether she had some kind of ongoing issue with the city or if it was just the adventure taking its toll on her in general. Regardless, she seemed in need a bit of rest herself and so the group would once they had reached where they were going to.

After following the guard around, the group had eventually reached a camp that seemed to be tending to quite a lot of the injured. The sight wasn't one that livened the spirit of Nine any more, and it only enforced that the more time they spent here, the worse things would get for them. Gesturing to the two ladies who had fallen ill recently he said, "well, you should both get yourselves checked out. It wouldn't be good to get ill while we're walking through this city, and the walk from here is still a pretty long one at that." He then turned towards the guard who had guided them there and nodded his head saying, "and thank you as well. I apologize for putting you through those dangers."

Lok followed the group out, his face pale. Despite his best attempts, he couldn't get the brutality he saw moments ago out of his mind. He was so lost in thought that it took him a second to registered what the sudden thudding noise behind him was. "G-Gwen!" He rushed towards the ghost girl. "Didn't this happen last time we came here?" He thought to himself as Nine helped Gwen up. "Why..." He took a deep breath before continuing to follow the group. He stuck close to Nine, despite him being busy with everyone else. It didn't take long before his mind drifted back to the earlier scene before them, and for his expression to return to its pale, grim demeanor.

They eventually reached the camp, which was filled to the brim with sick people. He let out a sigh of relief as Nine said his goodbyes to the guard that had escorted him. Lok waved at him as he walked away, before returning his gaze to the ill people around him. He couldn't help but feel a sense of dread creeping up on him, with all the sick people around him and the brutality of the elite guards. His mind became cluttered with thoughts, although there was one idea that stood out above all - he wanted to leave as soon as possible.

Scarlet chuckled as Tianzi seemed to eagerly keep on with the conversation. "So, Miss Scarlet, isn't it? Truly, meeting you here is quite a wondrous event - I wonder if this has been fated by the heavens above. Your friend the shark was quite rough, wasn't she? At the very least I am of absolute certainty that she's not up to no good, and I believe she was quite a wonderful ally for you to have, wasn't she?"

"Yeah, she can be a bit rough at times. Still, there's a beautiful flower underneath those thorns." She responded, as the two started walking towards the town. "Ah, as now I'm following you, perhaps I may inquire more about this "Ice" your friend was talking about? And perhaps, may I ask about the reasons of your travels? It tickles my curiosity membranes, truly. Lovely ladies like you two, traveling through this continent at this time of peril. A double-blind of trickery, if I might say so." Scarlet chuckled a bit. "Truth be told, our goals aren't much different than yours. We're just chasing our own Legends, trying to find some sweet loot along the way. Nothing noble or anything." She shrugged. "As for 'Ice'. She's a Rotom we met not too long ago. She says she wants to see the world, so she teamed up with us seeing as we were adventurers." She responded, trying her best to avoid the subject of the cold girl's piracy. "So, where are we going now, Lady Scarlet?"

"W-Well..." Their conversation ended when they regrouped. "Hello. I have learned some things...Where's Scarlet?" Scarlet waved at Isole, not too far behind from Taiga. Isole informed the group with information she had gathered - about Regice and the Steelix gijinka from earlier primarily. "Oh my..." She said somberly, as Isole continued to give information. Scarlet thought about the their next destination. All of the options sounded dangerous, except for Pride's Rock, but danger was part of the reason why they were adventuring. Plus, she secretly wanted to meet up with the Steelix again. "I think Icecrown is our best bet. It'll be dangerous, but the idea of getting some treasure is appealing." She stretched her arms. "Any objections?"

Kazo was in extreme pain, but he grinned, looking up at Ryu. "Provoking you is the best idea I've ever had," Kazo stated, all while blood ran down the side of his face. "You misunderstand my intentions. I'm not trying to beat you. I'm stalling you. I'm not under the delusion I can win, but I can stall long enough for Latias to get away, then I did my job," He then looked up, staring Ryu in the eye. "I know what's it's like to be torn down. My childhood was nothing but that. Even now, I would love to see Juyu burn to ashes. But... just because some people treated you wrong... doesn't justify you murdering others! You're so blind to how lucky you are! You're strong, and you have your brother! I'd do anything to have those things!" He gritted his teeth before he managed to say "YOU'RE THE ONE THAT NEEDS TO GET TO THE REAL WORLD!"

Suddenly, Kazo heard a cry of pain, and Ryu's grip loosening on him. Suddenly, a loud, commanding voice rang out.

"Latias. We're sorry we could not arrive in time to save your brother. However we can give him one thing." Looking up, Kazo could see three majestic warriors, standing with weapons in hand.

"Justice!"

Ryu let out a roar of rage, standing up. However, his brother urged him to run away, which Ryu decided to do. Kazo sat up, groaning and holding a hand to his side, trying to stop the pain.

"Th-thanks... um...," He didn't know who these people were... "You guys," He managed to say as he stood to his feet. He wobbled a bit. Man, he felt so bad right now... He didn't know what else to say either. What, that things could have been better if they got here first? Things could have gotten worse if they didn't come at all? It sounded really insensitive... Still... the day was save--

"I surrender," Kazo suddenly heard Kah mutter. Wait... what...? Kazo looked over in her direction. They've seen enough." Kazo's head was a hurricane of thoughts and emotions. Was Kah...? But no, she couldn't be... but...

"There is a Godslayer out there." The clear memory of Latios saying that with so much anger suddenly came to his mind. angrily. "In fact there's one right here, isn't there?"

No. Kazo defended her... stood up for her. Despite her irritable views on the world, she wouldn't go so far as to...

"STOP WHERE YOU funking ARE!" Kazo roared as he rushed to the shore as fast as his injured body could carry him. At this moment, his rage consumed him. It flowed through him, letting him push his body beyond what he could normally do, and filled his mind with hate. Right now, not even Ari was saving Kah from the storm of words that were about to come from his mouth. "YOU AREN'T GOING ANYWHERE!" He managed to fire a Dragonbreath in the waters in front of her, all for good measure. "Not explaining to anyone but Latias herself? I THINK THAT WE---," he motioned to the group and himself. "WHO RISKED OUR funking LIVES TO ATTEMPT TO SAVE LATIOS AND LATIAS DESERVE TO KNOW WHY YOU funking DECIDED TO TRY TO KILL HER!" He continued to yell from his spot. "WHAT funking POSSESSED YOU TO SUDDENLY TRY TO MURDER A WOMAN WHO JUST LOST HER BROTHER? ARE YOU THAT funking HEARTLESS?! AND WHAT ABOUT US? YOU LITERALLY JUMPED IN THE WATER ONLY TO KILL HER? YOU LEFT US TO DIE FOR YOUR SICK, TWISTED GOAL? WHAT THE ACTUAL funk, KAH?! 'NOT EXPLAINING TO ANYONE BUT LATIAS'?! I NEARLY DIED TODAY TRYING TO DEFEND THEM, YOU'RE GOING TO funking TELL US WHY, YOU funking jabroni!!" He roared, blood streaking down his face as he did.

Denku went to the lower quarters of the boat, looking around. There seemed to be a sleeping area... but that had to be for the crew. He wasn't going to steal someone else's bed. He found a nice corner, curling up againstg the wall and covering himself with is cloak, soon falling asleep.

Ari was sitting down, trying to...well, not to cry any more than he had already. But it was so hard. There was...nothing. Nothing was going right. They couldn't save Latios, Latias was gonna die...everything was so bad, so dark...

"That poor Litleo is gonna find out the hard way that his hero is nothing more than a punk bastard."

What? Ari lifted his head at that. What was he going to do? To Kazo? He soon found out, the Litleo watching exactly how the dragon Godslayer swiped at Kazo's side and head, before slamming him into the dirt. The fire type's eyes were wide in undisguised horror. "No..." he whimpered.

"You thought provoking me would be a good idea? I'll just rip your head off and move on to each of your little friends. You're all going to die today. Welcome to the real world, and goodbye."

"No!" He had to stop this. But his legs couldn't move...they were shaking, too much to stand. This was too much...

And then...Kazo spoke, grinning as he looked up at the dragon. "Provoking you is the best idea I've ever had," he stated, all while blood ran down the side of his face. "You misunderstand my intentions. I'm not trying to beat you. I'm stalling you. I'm not under the delusion I can win, but I can stall long enough for Latias to get away, then I did my job," He then looked up, staring the angry dragon in the eye.

Ari stared at Kazo with wide eyes. For some reason, he hadn't ever imagined that his hero would have ever...well, suffered. Everything he had ever heard of, every tale, every experience, had shown the opposite. People loved heroes. They loved the strong, the brave, and the bold. Kindness was rewarded with kindness, the golden rule was what one had to abide by. How could anybody treat a hero like Kazo, a gentle yet courageous soul, with anything other than absolute respect?

It just...did not make sense. That there were that many stupid people in the world. He had thought Suiten was just particularly stupid, for not recognizing Kazo's greatness, but maybe he was just one stupid person among many stupid people. That was...sad. Very sad. But that also meant that maybe, the dragon twins had been heroes, once upon a time. Maybe. He wasn't sure what was sadder to think about.

Suiten caught Mac more out of reflex than anything else. He was finding it more and more difficult to concentrate on the battle, but concentrate he must...or it might spell the end of them all. A tad dramatic, but true, he thought wryly. They were spread far too thinly for one of them to fall now.

Then, three figures darted onto the scene, blades flashing across Ken's body. The Salamence dropped to the ground right afterward.

"Latias. We're sorry we could not arrive in time to save your brother. However we can give him one thing." Suiten startled at the unexpected voice.

"Justice!"

Soon after, Ryu left, roaring that he would see them dead before his end. Ari followed the figure of the fleeing dragon with his eyes. Honestly, he wasn't sure what to feel anymore. Maybe he was all feel'd out. One thing was for sure though. He was still too weak. Weak enough to let somebody turn to grass right in front of him. He barely noticed the three newcomers.

"Th-thanks... um... You guys," Kazo stood, wobbling a bit.

For some reason, Kah decided to raise her arms over her head. "I surrender," she muttered, those two words dragged out as if against her will.

"Huh?"

"What."

Two pairs of baffled eyes stared after the dark dragon.

Kazo reacted much more readily than they did. "STOP WHERE YOU funking ARE!" he roared as he rushed to the shore as fast as his injured body could carry him. "YOU AREN'T GOING ANYWHERE!" He managed to fire a Dragonbreath in the waters in front of her, all for good measure. "Not explaining to anyone but Latias herself? I THINK THAT WE---," he motioned to the group and himself. "WHO RISKED OUR funking LIVES TO ATTEMPT TO SAVE LATIOS AND LATIAS DESERVE TO KNOW WHY YOU funking DECIDED TO TRY TO KILL HER! WHAT funking--" it was at this point that Mac covered Ari's ears, so the rest of Kazo's rant sounded muffled.

Meanwhile, Suiten could hear the rest, quite clearly. He felt a bit overwhelmed, actually. Because from what it sounded like, Kah had tried to kill Latias, and now...these three were here. He hoped he wasn't staring.

He needed to stay calm. And figure out exactly what had happened during the fight, as he was attempting to keep himself alive. He hadn't really had the chance to pay attention to what the others were doing at the time. Was Kah...one of them this whole time then? Had he really been so blind? No, he just couldn't believe that. He would have noticed it before...right? But...he had to remember his manners. "Thank you," he bowed to the three gijinka in front of him. "We would have been lost without you." His posture had relaxed unconsciously. Finally. It was over. For now, anyway.

Ari stared after Kah. Was she...one of the bad guys now? "No way," he shook his head. "That's not true, that's not possible. Kah's not a bad gijinka."

Easter wandered around some more, but he was mostly done with his "shopping." Finished, he went back to the ship. Asking the captain where to sleep revealed the existence of passenger quarters. Descending to belowdecks, the Sylveon spotted Denku, curled up against the wall in just his cloak. Shaking him awake, he pointed at one of the two rooms set aside for passengers, and entered.

Inside, he was surprised at the relatively spacious room. Then again, it was a ferry ship, not a cargo or, say, a pirate ship. Two bunk beds were lined up against the left and right walls, one for each wall, allowing for a total of four passengers overall. A nightstand with four drawers was set up between both beds, and a ladder rested against the end of each bunk. A couple of chests sat pushed up against the wall in front of them.

The Sylveon flopped onto one of the top bunks. He had seen what happened when you slept on the bottom bunk. Cabinmates who couldn't hold their drink, disturbed every time somebody climbed the ladder, and every creaking noise made by the person above you was like thunder when you were trying to sleep. Sure, it was a little warmer up top, but they were right next to Coldharbour, which lived up to its namesake.

He slept surprisingly soundly, the gentle rocking of the ship sending him to sleep.

--

Yuffie had been sooo worried. After all, she had lost track of...her. She thought she saw her heading toward Juyu, but...maybe not? She had stopped multiple people so far, asking if they had seen her. But nobody had. But, but then! Sunlight at the end of the cloudcover, a port in the storm, there! A Rotom, who looked just strange enough to have met...her.

"This must be the will of the gods!" she squealed. "Ay me, I've been looking far and wide for my dear sweet Ronnie," she blushed at those words, "and now, to think I might have found a clue! You have to have seen her!" she affirmed. "You have to have seen the light of my life!" The Rotom nodded absently, which caused the Fletchling's heart to pitter-patter like craaazy. "Oh, you have?! Why that's just simply marvelous! Do you have any idea where--?"

She was interrupted by the ice gijinka turning to face a Sharpedo. "Hello." She said. "I have learned some things...Where's Scarlet?"

There were more not far behind, and Yuffie stood there somewhat awkwardly as the Rotom explained some pretty crazy things. Regice, a strange revenge-seeking gijinka, and places to go. The girl had obviously forgotten about the sweet adorable birdie right behind her.

"Oh my..." a Scizor said somberly. "I think Icecrown is our best bet. It'll be dangerous, but the idea of getting some treasure is appealing." She stretched her arms. "Any objections?"

"I have one!" Yuffie spoke up, crossing her arms. "You still haven't answered my question, Miss...?" she peered at the electric type. "Miss Rotom? I was wondering where my darling Ronnie has gotten to. You see, she never waits for me," she pouted. "But that's just part of her charm. So, since you said you'd seen her," she completely did not acknowledge the fact that it was just a nod, and that Miss Rotom might not have been entirely listening, "do you know where she is? I thought I saw her heading this way, but alas," she sighed. "I've seen neither wing nor hair of her."

She glanced at the others before blinking. "Oh me oh my, I completely forgot that none of you know who I am!" she giggled. "My name's Yuffie, nice to meet you!" she bobbed a small curtsy. "What are you all called?"

Team Showdown: Juyu

"I think Icecrown is our best bet. It'll be dangerous, but the idea of getting some treasure is appealing.  Any objections?"

Treasure?  The word...it made her start to drool a little bit.  Her chest hadn't expanded the whole time they had started this stupid journey, and this was the first lead they had to obtain any sort of treasure...If only Taiga had gotten a fin on that prized flute...

"You're poking at my weak spot here red...hyunnnnn~!"  Taiga said, fidgeting slightly.  Her anger wanted to erupt again, and lash out at the Gijinka who was obviously taunting her with the thought of treasures in a dangerous spot.  But she couldn't deny the fact that she wanted what she wanted!  To be the richest sharpedo in all the lands!  "FUFUFUFUFUFU!"  She let her thoughts burst outwards.  "Let's get a move on then ay?!  I'm tired of this eyesore of a dump-town anyways."  Taiga noticed that the one Xatu from earlier was still tagging along.  Seeing them here was almost enough to put a damper on her mood again.

"Food for the road?  Good idea, Red!"  Taiga licked her lips.  "Now if only we had that Geezer...we could roast it easier..."

"Oh me oh my, I completely forgot that none of you know who I am!  My name's Yuffie, nice to meet you!  What are you all called?"

Taiga hadn't even noticed by now, but another Gijinka stood in the shadow of Isole...another bird.  Great...it was just her lucky day.  Birds brains surrounding her, and not a spit roaster in sight.  Taiga reared her head back, giving off a threatening aura as she made a smug grin.

"Whatsittoya..."  She groaned.  "Don't tell me we're letting these feathered freaks into our group!  AWWW GEEZ!"  Her breathing became heavy, as she tried to find a sense of composure.  She frazzled her hair and ran screaming outside of the town at mach speeds to escape the situation.  In a moment's time, she would be back with the group, with a smile on her face.  Once she saw Scarlet, she let out a sigh of relief.

"Oh wow...Scar...You'll never believe the craziest dream I had..."  She took a second look to see that both the Xatu, and Fletchinder were still among them.  "Scratch that...nightmare, I'm still in the nightmare..say treasure one more time...please..."

"Any objections?"

And then the other, chatty bird decided that this was a good time to be chatty. She didn't seem to be a part of this group originally, so the group seemed to be having two new birds in it so far. The shark didn't seem to welcome neither of the birds however.

"Food for the road?  Good idea, Red! Now if only we had that Geezer...we could roast it easier..."

"Ah, so it seemed that you has the desire to delight yourself with pleasure by indulging in my meat. However, I am a traveler, not a lover - I simply would rather not sleep with someone I had barely known myself. I am also still a minor, of which it might not be the best for any of us to do such an act of fornication for the time being. Alas however, if what you are referring to was talking about eating me in the literal sense, then I had to say that you would have not much joy in eating this skin-covered skeleton that is my humble body. A malnourished child like me would not even be decent for a snack, wouldn't it be?

And I must say that the notion that this is a nightmare is unfounded - for I am no wraith of your unconscious. Let me introduce myself again as Tianzi, a traveler seeking the legends of our land. While I have no desire for such thing called treasure, I would find joy if I am were to help you reach your goal, so wouldn't it be quite neat, so to be said? My capabilities are few, but I am able to serve as an extra hand as necessary.

As for you, little bird...Yuffie, wasn't it? I have this belief that you are a little bit too chatty. It might be for the best interest of us all that you don't talk as much."

Location: The docks, Southshore (Team Mac, Day 15)

Poké: 290

Inventory: Poke Puff Bag (empty), Berry Case (contains 5x Spelon Berries)

Kah kept swimming. This was, in every way she could think of short of dying, a worst-case scenario. The fight was lost. She'd have to report that she'd failed the mission that was supposed to give her all that power. There wasn't even a guarantee the legendaries aiming to avenge Latios would let her just go away that easily.

"STOP WHERE YOU funking ARE!"

...and now they know. And here I thought I'd surrendered quietly enough that they wouldn't hear me. The cat was out of the bag. Kazo even fired a shot in the water in front of Kah to make sure she wouldn't just go away without any resistance. The Hydreigon listened as Kazo went off. He was mad. Very mad. Kah actually couldn't recall a time she'd ever met anyone as angry as Kazo seemed to be right now, let alone toward her. I have an idea. Kah winced a bit as Kazo's volume suddenly went up at the end, but otherwise didn't move from where she was when Kazo shot the water in front of her.

When he was done talking, she turned to face him directly. She didn't seem angry or proud, or anything like that. It was a bittersweet expression on her face. She'd gotten involved in something she probably shouldn't have, was now to pay the price, but Kah had every intention of turning that price in a direction she wanted to turn it. "I guess...at least partially, you're right. You deserve to know at least the short version. If Latias wants to hear me out then spill the beans on the full story, then that's her business, not mine." With that, she turned slightly, and started swimming toward land, taking care not to put herself on a course where she'd land too close to Kazo. In his emotional state, he'd try to fight. He'd demand she fight back. In his physical state, it'd be hard to win that fight without seriously injuring him even further. Some distance was needed. Once she was on the move, she began to explain her actions.

"I wanted to kill two birds with one stone. I want power like those Godslayers have, and this was my ticket to getting it. At the same time, I wanted to get that bug freak off everyone's back, and even deal with the Salamence that just ran away; I figured if I was as strong as they were, the next time either one of them ran into us would be the last. I didn't want to be the one that took Latios from you though, so I targeted her instead." As if it weren't obvious enough who Kah was referring to, her top pair of wings pointed back toward Latias. As she closed in on land, she continued "When Latios died, it was my best shot at her. I wanted to do it quietly so that none of you would notice, but...well, that didn't work out. That's the short version."

Kah put her hands and feet on solid land once again, and took a moment to catch her breath before continuing even further. She was not one for swimming. Not to mention my dress is soaked. I don't even have a spare. Kah shook some of the water off her body as she got up to her feet, then turned her eyes directly to Kazo, briefly glancing at Mac, Ari, and Suiten before returning to the man confronting her right now. "I'm your villain now. I'm pretty sure we can all agree I won't go down easily in a fight, so you're going to have to get pretty strong if you ever want to put me in my place properly. Go get strong. I'm looking forward to seeing the heights you lot can reach now that you have a villain - multiple, in fact - to defeat. Especially you." Kah pointed directly at Kazo with that closing note. With that, she turned, and began walking away in the general direction the Salamence had fled. This whole battle had turned out to be one giant disaster. "I'll see myself out. Hopefully, you all get much stronger by the next time we meet. I know I will."

I'll have to make a note to ask that Gardevoir about the annoying bug, come to think of it. Hopefully, at least trying to help kill Latias was good enough.

Team Mac, Day 15, Southshore

Between Kah's confession, Kazo's rant, which Mac felt necessary to censor for Ari, he didn't need to hear Kazo saying such things, and Kah's attempt to leave, Mac was...confused to say the least.

There were no less than four Legends here right now in front of her...yet she could only think about Kah. Had she been right? Was Kah actually a bad person? She didn't seem to regret what she did, even going so far as to claim it was the right thing to do, and was just about to bail like that? Well Mac wouldn't let...

She didn't really get a say in things, as the three newcomers moved before she could so much as open her mouth.

The trio seemed to be, while not shocked by the confession, a bit unsure at first how to process this sudden dump of information from all ends.

However the largest of the trio, Terrakion, had something else in mind as well.

"Thank you. We would have been lost without you."

He went straight for Suiten, wrapping his muscular arms around the Samurott and lifting him up. "Its been a long time little guy!" He called out boisterously. "Where have you been all this time? Fighting the good fight, apparently, good on you!" He set the Samurott down as his face took a bit more of a grim edge. "Not sure about your choice in company though. That one, she tried to kill a friend, one of my comrades, that's not any kind of good."

As Kah tried to leave she'd be cut off by Cobalion himself. He had a stern, almost emotionless, look on his face. "You do not get to run from your crimes that easily. A criminal must face trial and punishment. Attempting to kill Latias is a grave crime indeed."

"Come on now, Cobalion." Virizion said, sliding beside the Steel-Type. "Do we really have to harm a lovely lady? She did wrong, yes, but she failed. Latias is alive still, does more blood need to be spilled today?"

"She failed this time. But what of the next? We should just let her go and give her another chance? No, Virizion, it's not so simple. Justice cannot be so lenient."

"It's true." Terrakion said, coming to Cobalion's other side. "She is a threat to all of our comrades..." He looked over at Suiten. "But she was a companion to someone dear to us. Maybe...we should let him speak his mind before we do anything else."

Latias, as this was going on, was gathering up the odd essence left behind as Latios died. As she did it began to form something in her hands. A crystal of some sort.

Team Neo Not Dark, Day 15, Coldharbour

As it seemed that everything was taken care of, once Fawkes got a few more bottles of milk, they headed back to the ferry. Though Dora was a bit sad to have not gotten her fishsicles.

The captain saw they were ready to head out and informed them they would set off as soon as everyone went below deck. It seemed there were two rooms, each with two bunk beds, and that the group of five would have to split up for the night.

Dora immediately ran into one of the rooms, which turned out to be the one without Easter, and attempted, and failed, to climb into the top bunk. She kept at it though, determined to get up there through any means necessary.

---

The night would pass quietly, for the most part, as the waters were calm. A change from the previous action for certain. Once morning rolled around they'd be woken up by a loud bell, signalling it was time for breakfast.

Team Karaoke, Day 22, Adarid City

Gwen let out a sigh as she floated her way to one of the beds. She just needed...a little time to sit still probably. Once more she had been helped by Nine, despite how Clotilde was in worse shape. Gwen wondered about that and gestured for the Houndoom to come over as Clotilde, clearly in a hazy state of mind, stumbled her way into a cot, crashing into it. Luckily they were already on the floor so nothing broke, but it did make quite the racket.

The Audino quickly made her way to the Aggron. "Oh dear oh me oh my what's this? Hmm...you seem to have gotten sick on the way here, yes? Well, you just relax and let me help." She began to let loose a barrage of Heal Pulses combined with Heal Bell on the Aggron. Once this went on for a while she'd tell Clotilde to wait there as she prepared some medicine, having stabilized the Aggron's condition.

"Nine...you should be more concerned about the others." Gwen told her companion, in a somewhat scolding fashion. "Lok is young and scared, and Clotilde...well, you saw her. You shouldn't be worried about me when they're in so much more need. I'm...I'm not helpless."

Meanwhile Fiona was picking at the hem of her skirt nervously. She didn't like being here. With all these sick people. No, with all these people. And those soldiers who were here kept giving them suspicious looks. She found herself at Lok's side. "We should just...get out of here...now. I don't like this place." She said. "They can catch up later, they know where we're going, come on let's just...go."

Team Showdown, Day 20, Juyu

So...Icecrown seemed to be their next destination. As decided on by both Scarlet and Taiga.

...And this strange Xatu that had accompanied them. Who was this? Was she with them now? "Er. I guess we have a new group member?" Isole asked. She didn't really mind, they essentially just replaced the last one in this case.

But what to do about this other one. "If you're looking for someone...a name and description is usually a good place to start." She told her.

Team Alola, Day 6, Northshore

Map

Northshore, a tropical resort and the most peaceful place in all of Adarid. The outskirts of the city, as well as areas of the beach itself, have traces of the jungle nearby, large, ancient, trees that have withstood the test of time. The most notable feature is the massive beach that takes up half of the city. It's kept meticulously clean and sports dozens of shells that give it a unique and colorful look. The city proper is dominated by the fancy hotels and restaurants which were built near the beach.

The homes are kept towards the western end of the city, in order to give visitors the prime location via the beachfront hotels. The people seem to be happy and almost blissfully unaware of the troubles of the rest of the world.

On a large hill to the north-west is the largest building in the city, a mansion that is kept securely guarded. It is said the mysterious benefactor that funded this place, and the many mercenary guards that keep it safe, lives there. But none have ever gotten close enough to find out.

The group managed to steer their boat safely onto the beach, scattering some swimmers in the process, and they were immediately beset by mercenaries demanding to know what they're doing there.

After interrogation they were allowed to go about their business, being told by surprisingly friendly interrogators to enjoy their stay, but were also told that their boat would be taken by the city and used to pay off the fine that was their rather extreme disturbing of the peace.

Lucine seemed to struggle with some inner conflict and ultimately told the group she wished to explore on her own, and that she wanted to get far, far, away from the water.

The Sky Temple

"Solgaleo, Lunala, welcome...I'm glad you made it in one piece. Magearna has already told me of what happened...I am sorry." Rayquaza looked solemn as he greeted the two Alolan Legends.

"We should have stayed." Solgaleo said fiercely. "We ran like cowards and left our home to those...Beasts."

Rayquaza shook his head. "You did well to leave. If the two of you fell...that could be catastrophic. Leave it to the Tapu. They are the Guardians of Alola after all. Trust in your comrades to see Alola through this...Now...These Beasts. Are they truly as dangerous as you say?"

"Hmph...I've never seen anything like them. They were powerful indeed...Which is why we came here. We thought the Home of the Gods would be the most well prepared to face this threat."

Rayquaza let out a sigh. "Usually this would be true...but now, I fear there has been....stirrings of dangerous foes. You two should stay here, in my temple, for now. Until we figure out what to do."

"This foe cannot be a match for all of us right?"

"As we once were...no. But we are...more scattered than back then. Fear, pride, many reasons have kept us from joining together. And with Arceus gone...no, this foe is not to be taken lightly. But enough of that. You have traveled far, you must need a rest..."

Somewhere in the mountains

"Took you long enough."

"You were meant to find Ho-Oh, have you done your task?" The Lucario said, not responding to the other Gijinka's words.

"Yeah, I sure did...Was about to attack when out of no where Registeel. I hadn't seen him during my entire search of this damn place why did he just suddenly appear now?"

The Lucario didn't answer. "Leave Registeel to me. Ho-Oh must not be allowed to escape again."

The other shrugged. "Sure, you take down that tin can. As long as Ho-Oh is on their own I can bring them down in one blow. You're not the only strong one here, Mr. Godslayer."

"Don't get in my way."

As if it were longer than he originally thought, Randy hopped off the boat as it finally reached land and felt the sandy beach beneath his feet. He let out a sigh of relief, finally happy to be off that boat. Turning towards those on the ship, he finally smiled. "We're finally on land! Albeit...in the middle of a beach..."

As fate would have it, he and the others from Alola found themselves drifting into the harbor of a small beach. The boat probably startled plenty of the swimmers in the water the moment they washed onto shore. It was something that probably never happened to this group of individuals before on this beach. And to be honest, Randy was shocked when he and the group were engaged by a trio of mercenaries.

"You there!" the first, a male Jolteon Gijinka spoke. "What's going on here?"

"Can't you see? It's obvious their ship just ran ashore..." the second, a female Vaporeon Gijinka quickly chimed in.

"Can you both be quiet for a second?" the last spoke, a male Flareon Gijinka. "Least let them explain themselves first."

Randy decided to be the first to speak, since he probably could explain this the best he possibly could. "Alola!" he said, doing the usual hand gestures. It was customary to do it this way, he just hoped he didn't look foolish doing this to them. "I'm Randy Roarton and these are my friends. We're from Alola...and well, we sort of set off to sail to escape some pretty harsh things over at Alola. We were...attacked by some strange creatures...not exactly sure how to explain them, but it was pretty bad."

He paused a bit before rubbing the back of his head a bit, before chuckling. "We've been going non-stop on the sea for a bit of time. Honestly, we were pretty psyched when we saw land. Thooooough we didn't think it was a beach. Sorry about just washing up on shore like that."

"I see, I see. Alola, that is quite a bit a ways from Adarid." the Flareon spoke.

Adarid, so that's where they landed... Least now Randy had a name to go with this location. He crossed his arms a bit and listened to the Jolteon interject.

"I bet their hostile!" the Jolteon seemed like he was ready to fight. "Azar just say the word and I'll shock them to kingdom come!"

"Oh for Pete's sake, Rai..." the Vaporeon sighed. "Didn't you hear that they escaped something awful from their homeland? Why would they be hostile?"

Azar, the Flareon, finally sighed. "Unfortunately, Bay, Rai has a point. We don't know their intentions."

"W-Whoa! Whoa! Hang on a sec!" Randy said quickly, holding his hands out to calm down the obvious tension between the three and them. "I can assure you we aren't hostile in any way right now. If we were, don't you think we would've had some more terrifying crew members along?" This was true...out of the group, he was the only intimidating one, save for Lucine, though she walked off after saying she needed to deal with some inner conflict or something.

"Fair point, Incineroar." Azar nodded, crossing his arms some with a smile. "Then in that case, welcome to Adarid and Northshore. We hope you enjoy your stay. Oh, we'll be commandeering your boat. You DID happen to disturb the peace with it...so it's sort of a fine payment."

"Also, Mr. Roarton, why is a man such as yourself traveling with a young man and two young ladies?" Bay asked.

Randy shrugged a bit, before pointing a thumb at the boat. "Just jumped on the first boat I saw. They were the first on that boat when I got on there...that's pretty much it."

Terrakion went straight for Suiten, wrapping his muscular arms around the Samurott and lifting him up. "It's been a long time little guy!" He called out boisterously. "Where have you been all this time? Fighting the good fight, apparently, good on you!" He set the Samurott down as his face took a bit more of a grim edge. "Not sure about your choice in company though. That one, she tried to kill a friend, one of my comrades, that's not any kind of good."

Suiten chuckled, hugging Terrakion back while holding back a wince. The legend was strong. "Good to see you again," he replied. His expression sobered as he watched the other two corner Kah. It seemed that Cobalion wanted her to answer for her crimes, while Virizion was in favor of letting her go. Terrakion thought he should have some say. Trouble was, he didn't even know what he wanted to say. This was all too much to process at once. Kah...had been the group's protector, but now she was turned against them all. Had she been a traitor all along?

"I don't understand..." he told Kah, voice a quiet plead. "Did we really mean so little to you? Not even me, but them?" he glanced at the group. "You would attempt to kill a gijinka that the rest of us tried to protect, and then leave, as our enemy?" his eyes narrowed, temper rising.

"No, no way," Ari still seemed to have trouble believing all of this. "No, Kah's not mean, she's not bad..." his lip quivered. "I..." he took a deep breath. "I don't...Kah, don't leave," he said. The lion cub still didn't understand why this was all happening. Had it been because of that fight? "Kah, if it's because of the fight from earlier, don't worry," he said. "I already understand...you were trying to keep us protected and fed." He brightened up. "If this was because of that too, that you were trying to grow strong to protect us..." he clenched his fists. "You don't have to be alone," he whispered. "We can all...take care of ourselves. But we can't do it alone. So don't leave..."

Suiten bit back what he wanted to say. That Kah had clearly made her choice, that she was now their enemy, and there would be no reasoning with her. But, he stayed his tongue, and glanced at the Hydreigon with a mixture of anger, hurt, and hope.

Team Neo Not Dark

Easter slept quite soundly, waking up as soon as the bell rang. Smiling at the nostalgia of the action, his eyes narrowed in grief at the turn his thoughts took, then rage, and then calm. "Rest in peace," he murmured, taking up a prayer pose. "Your death has been avenged." Still, it did nothing to free him of the ugly sorrow that had taken hold of his heart. A sorrow mixed with hatred. While there were a couple good legendaries, there were also bad ones, such as Thundurus, Kyurem, and then that arrogant Froslass, the one who thought itself to be a god. He scoffed. Were it not for that one, he would still be alive. Even killing it hadn't entirely eased the pain, hadn't entirely taken away the hatred.

No, a fire had been lit in his heart, and he wasn't sure what it would take to snuff it out. Or even if he wanted it snuffed out.

Controlling his expression, the Sylveon leapt lightly from the bunk, pausing briefly at the other doors to check and see if everybody was awake, even that Denku fellow. "Rise and shine, everybody," he said, tone cheery. "It's time for vittles! Maybe it'll be skilly 'n' duff!" he snickered before leaving, following his nose.

Team Showdown

"Whatsittoya..."  The Sharpedo groaned.  "Don't tell me we're letting these feathered freaks into our group!  AWWW GEEZ!" she frazzled her hair and ran screaming from the group.

"What a weirdo," Yuffie giggled. "But anyway what about--" She stopped when she realized that the Xatu had started talking. She wasn't exactly sure what eating the meat had to do with...oh, wait. He meant that way. The Fletchling blushed at the very thought.

"As for you, little bird...Yuffie, wasn't it? I have this belief that you are a little bit too chatty. It might be for the best interest of us all that you don't talk as much."

Yuffie snapped her head toward this...Tianzi, expression twisting into an ugly scowl. "I didn't ask for your opinion," she hissed out, then brightened. "Unless you know of where my darling Ronnie might be."

"If you're looking for someone...a name and description is usually a good place to start." Miss Rotom told her.

"Well," she chirped, "I call her by many names, such as my dear, light of my life, holder of my heart, and darling, but," she paused, "She probably introduced herself as Veronica, such a wonderful, elegant name befitting of its holder," she sighed, stars in her eyes. "A magnificent Crobat of inestimable form, she seems to sparkle in the sunlight, and glow in the night. She is not among the common ilk, her coloring being different than most. Ay me, there is nothing that is not perfect about her!"

Team Alola

The group was lucky to reach land at a beach. Keanu wasn't sure what they would have had to do if it had been something like a sheer cliff. He might have been able to summon a wave to carry himself up, but the others wouldn't have been nearly so lucky. Or maybe the boat itself...though that would take quite a wave.

Soon after they were engaged by a trio of mercenaries, who seemed to argue over whether they came with good intentions or not. Keanu stared at them as if they were idiots, which, well, they were. Randy was busy explaining their circumstances and that they came in peace. Finally, the trio welcomed the group to Adarid.

"Then in that case, welcome to Adarid and Northshore. We hope you enjoy your stay. Oh, we'll be commandeering your boat. You DID happen to disturb the peace with it...so it's sort of a fine payment."

"That's the most ridiculous fine payment I've ever heard of," the Pikachu deadpanned.

"Also, Mr. Roarton, why is a man such as yourself traveling with a young man and two young ladies?" the Vaporeon asked.

"Just jumped on the first boat I saw. They were the first on that boat when I got on there...that's pretty much it."

"None of us really had time to ponder our choices, what with the beasts attacking Alola and all," Keanu drawled, annoyed with these chuckleheads already. "'Sides, Mr. Tony Tiger here is about as evil as a kitten." He wasn't exactly sure why he was sticking up for him, but he supposed it was the dork you knew to the dorks you didn't. Plus, he seemed the honorable sort, anyway.

He was a bit concerned about Lucine, but, in the end, it was none of his business what the others decided to do. They weren't forced to stay together, after all, and if she thought she could tough it out, what was it to him?

Th electric type stretched, glancing at Marie to see what she thought of this whole mess. Thankfully, they were on a beach, which was familiar territory for him. Were it not for the fact he had been on water for...well...days, he'd probably take that opportunity to go surfing. It was a little more important to find someplace to stay in the meantime though.

"Not to interrupt the malihini initiation," he said, "But where would be a good place to stay? Seeing as our boat just got taken, so we have nowhere to rest up and get our bearings," he glanced pointedly at Azar.

Rai growled. "I don't like your tone, you punk."

"An' I don't like your face, so we're even," Keanu quipped before turning away from the hothead. "I repeat, is there a good place to stay?"

"Well, there are the hotels," the Flareon spoke over his companion's splutters. "However, I'm not sure if you could afford them."

Bay thought for a second. "The cheapest is probably the Azure Rose Hotel, but it's still...pretty expensive." She glanced at their admittedly ragged state.

"Least it's a start," Keanu shrugged. If they couldn't afford it, they'd just have to find a place elsewhere. "What do you think?" he asked the others. "D'you wanna check it out now or bumbye?"

"I guess...at least partially, you're right. You deserve to know at least the short version. If Latias wants to hear me out then spill the beans on the full story, then that's her business, not mine." Kazo growled slightly. Even in a situtation like this, she was still so arrogant!!! It really pissed him off. She then began to explain.

Kazo rubbed his forehead, groaning to himself. She wasn't getting the big picture! Why was it so hard to understand that---

"I'll see myself out. Hopefully, you all get much stronger by the next time we meet. I know I will." Kazo thought to himself, before looking up.

"Forget it. You're not worth my time!" He called out to her. "I'm not going after you, someone that can't even figure that maybe teaming up with murderers is wrong! Hell, you wanna use your power to save them?" He pointed to Ari and Mac. "I took an Explosion for them! I saved Ari from an attack from Regirock, and saved you from Edgelord! All you did was hit the things, which is just you wanting to fight things! The more I think about it, the more I'm not surprised by what you did! If you were helping us instead of trying to sneak a kill, Latios might still be alive! So go ahead and join those Godslayers! As of now, you don't exist to me! I'm going to train to beat that Godslayer, make sure some justice still exists in this world!"

Denku was woken up by Easter shaking him, pointing to two rooms. Oh, well, what did you know? The sleep deprived person in a strange boat couldn't find his way to the beds. Oh well. He stood up and went to the room that Easter was NOT sleeping in. He still wasn't sure of the... Sylveon's gender. Just in case they turned out to be female, he thought it best to sleep on the in the other room. He just got out of a group of crazy women, he was not going to risk it here.

He flopped onto the bottom bunk, sighing himself. It wasn't even two seconds when he heard something squeaking. Looking over, he saw Dora trying to climb the bunk. With a sigh, he rolled out of the bed, gently grabbing her and placing her on the top bunk. "Don't fall out of bed now," He commented before he went back to the bottom, closing his eyes and falling asleep.

It didn't feel like it was that long before he heard Easter again. "Rise and shine, everybody," the Sylveon said, tone cheery. "It's time for vittles! Maybe it'll be skilly 'n' duff!" he snickered before leaving. Denku groaned and rolled out of bed, yawning and stretching.

"The hell are vittles?" He muttered before he sat on the bed, waiting for the kids, just in case they needed help down.

He watched as the Audino started tending his friends, and Gwen and Nine were talking about something. Even in the hospital, Lok didn't feel very safe - in fact, it only seemed to add on to his dread, seeing the injured and sickly people around him. He couldn't help but think about the pancham that had gotten impaled right in front of them. He nearly jumped when his elbow bumped into Fiona, who seemed to be nervous. "We should just...get out of here...now. I don't like this place." She said. "They can catch up later, they know where we're going, come on let's just...go." Lok looked at her like she was insane. "Did you not..." He let out a sigh, glancing around him. He wasn't a big fan of the looks that the guards were giving them. He thought about telling the others they were going to go on ahead, but they were all too busy doing their own thing. "...never mind." He took one final look around him before he started making his way out of the hospital. "We should be careful. It's dangerous..."

Juyu Team Showdown

"Oh wow...Scar...You'll never believe the craziest dream I had...Scratch that...nightmare, I'm still in the nightmare..say treasure one more time...please..." Taiga didn't seem to be the most eager to have new teammates. "Treasure." She said flatly, before coughing. "There's going to be great treasure where we're going." She responded, with a bit more enthusiasm. Scarlet turned her gaze to the girl that called herself Yuffie. "My name's Scarlet, and this here is Taiga." She gestured to Taiga with her pincers, before Tianzi responded to the little bird girl. "He's a strange one, that's for sure." She thought to herself, opting to just listen onto the interactions "Well," Yuffie chirped, "I call her by many names, such as my dear, light of my life, holder of my heart, and darling, but," she paused, "She probably introduced herself as Veronica, such a wonderful, elegant name befitting of its holder," she sighed, stars in her eyes. "A magnificent Crobat of inestimable form, she seems to sparkle in the sunlight, and glow in the night. She is not among the common ilk, her coloring being different than most. Ay me, there is nothing that is not perfect about her!"

"Veronica? Now that you mention it..." Images of the pink crobat they had met a few days ago came to mind. "She's a pink crobat, right? I think we've met this Veronica of yours back in Deku. She was investigating the...incident" She grit her teeth, before awkwardly coughing. "T-That was 4 days ago though. Although, she did say that we might see her at Juyu." She shrugged. "We haven't seen her since, though."

"You do not get to run from your crimes that easily. A criminal must face trial and punishment. Attempting to kill Latias is a grave crime indeed."

Get out of my way.

"Come on now, Cobalion. Do we really have to harm a lovely lady? She did wrong, yes, but she failed. Latias is alive still, does more blood need to be spilled today?"

"She failed this time. But what of the next? We should just let her go and give her another chance? No, Virizion, it's not so simple. Justice cannot be so lenient."

"It's true. She is a threat to all of our comrades... But she was a companion to someone dear to us. Maybe...we should let him speak his mind before we do anything else."

"My fight isn't with the people back there," Kah stated. "Or any of you. With any luck, it isn't with Latias anymore either. Please move."

"I don't understand... Did we really mean so little to you? Not even me, but them? You would attempt to kill a gijinka that the rest of us tried to protect, and then leave, as our enemy?"

"Forget it. You're not worth my time!"

Kah's confidence in the situation was sinking rapidly. She needed a ticket out of here, but one wasn't appearing. She could feel her heart rising up in her chest, but also sinking. Like it was trying to split itself in two; one half ready to fly out of her mouth without any warning, and the other taking up residence in her stomach. It wasn't a pleasant feeling. And she knew where it was coming from too. Kah averted her eyes from the group she'd traveled with, and from the legends blocking her path. She didn't want to look at the latter, and definitely not at the former.

"I didn't have a choice." Kah weakly started. "By the time I got to Southshore I already said I'd do it, and I wasn't going to go back on that. It's just a hunch, but whatever you guys will do to me for this would be way better than what might have happened if I went back on my word to help those Godslayers out. I was looking out for me first. Isn't that what everyone does? The fight's over and I lost. If you're going to have me executed or something, just get it over with already. If not, get out of my way."

A loud bell sounded throughout the boat, signalling that it was time for breakfast. And for Fawkes, that bell also showed that it was time to wake up. As she was roused from her dreams of berry knights and vast riches, she took a moment to re-assess her surroundings and the events of yesterday. There was that horrible fight, then there was some shopping. Fawkes got the Moo Moo Milk she'd been looking for, and insisted that she pay for them. Brooke seemed to be hearing none of it though. She'd have to ask again today. With some assistance from Denku, Dora had gotten up to the top bunk, then the Zorua promptly fell asleep wherever she could find an open bed, exhausted from the hectic day she'd had. Speaking of which, she was in a boat. The boat was going to Mioter. The floating city...if it was really floating.

"Rise and shine, everybody," she heard Easter's voice cheerily call out, with a knock on her door. "It's time for vittles! Maybe it'll be skilly 'n' duff!"

What are vittles? Were they edible? Whatever Easter was on about, besides the "rise and shine" part, it made no sense to Fawkes. Curious to find out just what she was talking about, Fawkes climbed down from her bed, with quite the bedhead to show how recently she'd gotten up, and shuffled her way over to the door. Fawkes, generally speaking, was not a morning person. If she could help it, she'd rather sleep all day then be active at night, but that wasn't quite an option when everyone else was up during the day and asleep at night.

Fawkes slowly pushed open the door, and groggily greeted Easter with a "Goodmornin..." before shuffling on down the hall, looking more like a ghost-type than dark-type, toward the deck. Or that's where she thought she was going, anyway. Fawkes was going the wrong way.

"Treasure.  There's going to be great treasure where we're going."

Taiga couldn't help but tremble a bit at the last line.

"Hnnnng~!  I hope it will be worth it...putting up with weirdo's like these ain't my forte Red."  She sighed, picking at her teeth with a nail.

"Veronica? Now that you mention it...She's a pink crobat, right? I think we've met this Veronica of yours back in Deku. She was investigating the...incident.  T-That was 4 days ago though. Although, she did say that we might see her at Juyu.  We haven't seen her since, though."

"Geez Red...your memory is better than mine.  All bat gijinka look the same to me."  She said, snickering a tad.  She then looked to Yuffie with a glare that could paralyze a ground type.  "So...that means you ain't heading to Ice Crown with us, right?  I ain't fond of sharing treasure..."  She probably wouldn't share with the others as it was already.  She started poking at the Fletchling's chest.  "Better for you to skedaddle anyways, buster...I get hungry on long journeys pretty easily."  She licked her fangs, while wearing a viscous smile.  She decided to stop picking on the kid, before perking up a bit.  "SHEESH~!  Let's get the lead out of our feet then...I'm ready for some treasure huntin'! FUFUFUFU!"

As the gang had situated themselves in the medical area, Clotilde had seen herself off to a nearby cot before passing out. Once she did, Nine saw that Gwendoline had gestured for him to come over. He wondered what the woman was about to say to him, thinking it was probably something along the lines of her discomfort at the whole situation. What he heard, however, was something different. When she told him that he needed to be more concerned with helping the others, Nine had a confused expression on his face as he said, "huh?" As she started to go on about how he needed to stop worrying about her and more about the others, Nine was somewhat curious as to where this was coming from. After all, he had been carrying Clotilde through the city just earlier today, though, he didn't feel like bringing that up. When she declared that she wasn't helpless, Nine let out a sigh and looked back to the ghost. "I'm not saying you are. And if I made you feel that way then I apologize."

Looking around Nine then looked back to the girl and said, "truth be told, I am worried about all of you." He met them in a battle that they seemed to be nearly dead in when he had arrived. Past that they somehow got into a fight with a gang and then furthermore nearly got themselves attacked by an angry mob. Beyond that, Clotilde had gotten sick and passed out here. Gwendoline had passed out twice out of nowhere since he had met her. Lok, despite his physical appearance, was more or less a terrified child in the face of adversary. Fiona was an ex-godslayer aide. Now not only were they going to have to hunt for something in Northshore of all places, but they had to pass through what was effectively a war zone to get there. He wasn't entirely sure how he couldn't have been worried about them.

"And just because you aren't helpless, though, doesn't mean I won't help you. If you're in trouble then I will aid you just as I would Clotilde and Lok. Though," he paused a bit before saying, "I will admit that I probably haven't been of much help to him, but I'm not really sure how to. But I'm sure you do," he had a light smile on his face as he said, "so, helping you also helps him out. It's a win win."

Adarid Again/ ~

"That is enough." Clotilde came in and interrupted Gwen and Nine, having immediately ignored the Audino's directions for recovery. The healing spells made her feel well enough, and it would be a terrible waste of medicine that could be saved for someone who needed it more than her. Anyhow, she emerged from a doorway right into the middle of their conversation. "You, both of you have been more than helpful enough to all of us and each other, there is no need for excessive self-doubt. Anyway we should leave posthas-"

She then involuntary entered a short coughing fit. That signaled her location to the Audino desperately looking for her vanishing patient. She was promptly dragged back to her bed. What followed was a somewhat violent debate on the exact severity of Clotilde's cold, that if she must she'll accept some medicine but she won't need any rest, so on. Reluctantly the Audino handed Clotilde some cold medicine, and sold her a small stock of various cheap cures and such, enough to deal with one or two bumps along the road.

It took a while before she was able to step foot outside the hospital, where the air made her head slightly dizzy, but she could tell her cold was no longer a big ailment. Looking to the side she saw the two younger ones, Lok and Fiona, huddled up by themselves, and she walked over to greet them. Somehow, getting over her cold(or so she'd like to think) made her feel a little more assertive. "Let us gather and then leave."

"I didn't ask for your opinion,"

"Ah, but it is in my opinion that you, who put your dearest in a pedestal worthy of Arceus themselves, would need to listen to what I have in mind, because surely your utmost adoration and love to the elusive night-flier born with unique color palette would blind yourself from seeing reality as it should. From your swooning, rampant rambling that you thought would constitute as a sufficient descriptor of the bat, you could have just said her name and that she looked different from the usual Crobat and you would have elegantly and sufficiently provide the same amount of detail in the end. Isn't it beautiful? Such short form of passage, depicting information in its most direct, meaningful form. Beige prose, or so I have heard it be called.

I am aware that you are still a youth, a hatchling that had just left her nest to take on this brave new world. A quite impressionable one, I must say. Though I still have to make sure that this message from yours truly ends up sticking and lingering inside of your mind, however I am truly worried that your one-track thought would shut yourself from listening to the possibility of any other directions. But it is simply common sense that one should not put any full trust in anyone in this cold world, even the one closest to you. At the very least, it would be pure naivete to believe one to be so perfect beyond all form. Such is the recipe for a disastrous delusion, or a heart-crushing disappointment when your fabricated fantasy of such an image you bestowed upon her form did not fit reality. In the end, it is best to stay suspicious of anyone, especially ones that you have just met. Like yours truly.

Oho, do I take utmost pride in my suspiciousness."

"We haven't seen her since, though."

"Four days? Goodness gracious, that's ages ago! For us travelers, she would possibily anywhere at this point, even with the innocent assumption that she simply didn't manage to reach this city for reasons beyond her control. Wild animals that might have torn her apart, making her their dinner for the day, or bandits that could have mugged and ravaged her. She could have entered a duel she couldn't win, or simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time. She could have fallen and being unable to get back up, or perhaps she simply changed her mind and went somewhere else.

Four days, four days is an eternity for us travelers. Giving this youth some help is appreciated, but I must say that it has a considerable chance of simply ending up as an act of giving her false hopes in the end."

"SHEESH~!  Let's get the lead out of our feet then...I'm ready for some treasure huntin'! FUFUFUFU!"

"With that attitude the only thing that would get hunted is your ass. But nevermind that, she's right. Let's get going."

Drinking some water from her container after doing a few more speech, Tianzi finally decided that it's for the best that she drop her act for a short moment now. As much fun as it was, it's doing terrible things to her throat. At the very least, it seemed that despite of her act, she managed to get in this group, albeit with the shark and the other bird not really approving of her presence, but that shouldn't matter. Their goals coincide with hers to some degrees, and with how they could tolerate her obnoxious behavior so far, they had quite a good chance of being able to be led by her to fulfill her proper aims.

Well, she had to figure out a way to deal with the shark though, but at least she's just obnoxious in general rather than specifically targetting her.

"Oho, if you all are interested in it, we could regale each other with the wondrous tales of each of our own adventures so far. Wouldn't that be an interesting prospect to partake in? Like a merry band of vagrants, seeking the wonders of the world with their own effort to see them with their own eyes."

As the crew of the Alolan vessel had gotten to the shores, it was very clear that they were not landing at any dock. In fact, they seemed very closed to actually hitting other gijinka as they washed up ashore across a beach. While the girl had tumbled across the ship as the sudden impact of the sand bank forced the girl forward. The girl then looked about as relieved as her other companions, though, to finally be back on a mainland. She didn't quite no where they were, but they had managed to brave the open seas. However, not long after they landed did Lucine seemed to have something important that she needed to take care of. Marie's face immediately became one of worry and concern as the girl just left, but, her worries were then replaced as a squad of a three gijinka seemed to apprehend them.

They were, understandably, upset that they run the boat into the ground. The girl was a bit scared at first, feeling the somewhat judging gazes of the trio looking at them, but as both Randy and Keanu began talking to them this started to turn into something different. She was starting to get a bit annoyed at the accusations that they were a suspicious group. After all, they had done everything they could to escape being attacked by invaders, and being treated as one seemed to start to give rise to irriation in the girl's expression. She might've said something, but Randy seemed to tell them the situation well enough. As the electric type looked specifically to her, though, Marie said, "that's right! We all just got on the first boat we could and happened to be together. Honestly," she started to chide. "You shouldn't just accuse people you just meet of wrong doings." She looked to the water one saying, "where did he learn his manners?"

Then the group was presented with a choice of what to do, and Marie thought a bit while Keanu asked what they wanted to do. She then looked to the others and asked, "uh, how much money do you guys have? I, uh, don't have a lot on me." After that was taken care of the girl then simply said, "let's just check what the city is like for now. We're in a new continent after all so let's go look at what's here!" The girl was trying to sound excited and sound positive, despite understanding that the situation they were in was pretty awful.

Brooke took the time to apply the Burn Heal she had bought at the market to her wounds, and then settled into bed herself. It had been a long day, and just knowing that they were all safe for now was more than enough to put her at ease for the moment. “Sweet dreams,” she muttered, before sleep took her and she sank back into her bed.

Her dreams turned into nightmares as she slept. Visions of what could have happened to everyone had Deoxys been just a little weaker, or Froslass or Kyurem just a little stronger, haunted her. She was helpless when faced with Fawkes and Dora’s broken bodies, smoking craters in the ground.

She woke up suddenly, gasping for breath. Her clothes clung to her body, sticky from sweat. Just a dream… she knew that it hadn’t been real, but it certainly felt that way. Seeing Fawkes and Dora safe and sound would ease her mind a lot, so with that in mind, she went about getting ready for the day.

“Rise and shine, everybody," she heard Easter's voice cheerily call out, with a knock on her door. "It's time for vittles! Maybe it'll be skilly 'n' duff!"

Brooke knew that vittles was another way to say food, but “skilly ‘n’ duff” was something she had only heard once or twice before from an old Diggersby. His accent had been so thick Brooke had struggled to understand, but he had an extremely contagious jolly demeanor, so she didn’t mind. She wondered if Easter had met the same Diggers by, but it was hard to believe that they both would have come across the same person at different times.

Brooke stepped out of her room, adjusting her hat and scarf one last time. She heard Fawkes murmur a greeting from down the hall, voice groggy, shuffling away from the deck. “Morning, kiddo,” she said, reaching out and turning Fawkes around so that she was heading in the right direction without missing a beat. “Grub sounds good, honestly. I don’t care too much what it is.”

Team Alola, Northshore, Day 6

As the group made their way around the city they'd find many people wandering about. Some looked at them curiously, as they were obviously out of place, but it seemed most were too focused on themselves to spend much time on the group. Keanu would be the one to get the most interest as several young ladies seemed to be paying close attention to the surfer Pikachu.

If they left the beach the nearest thing they could find would be the hotels that they were debating checking out. They would be able to explore more if they so wished but it was already well past noontime so it wouldn't be long before they'd have to figure out where they'd be sleeping for the night.

Team Mac, Southshore, Day 15

"You really don't even care do you?" Mac said to Kah, speaking up more finally. The Hydreigon didn't even really seem regretful. She didn't think what she did was wrong. "You're...weak." She said, angrily. "No choice? That's what you think? There's always a choice...Fine, go, run, next time we meet though...I'm beating you down, be ready for it!"

She turned away from the Hydreigon but didn't leave, the Swords were here and she wasn't going to go while they stayed, and instead went to Latias. "Um...sorry." She cringed. What was she supposed to say here anyway? Had any of them lost someone important right in front of them?

Latias shook her head. "It isn't your fault. It's as you said there's always a choice...Latios made his." She smiled a weak smile. "My choice now is to stay strong." She glanced at Kazo, wounded greatly, and levitated over to him. "You fought so hard...thank you." She leaned down and kissed his cheek. A moment later a glow surrounded her, and Kazo felt his wounds rapidly healing. In several seconds he was back to full health, and Latias smiled at him before floating to the ground, falling into unconsciousness. She didn't seem hurt, just entirely drained of energy.

"Do you truly chase death so readily?" Virizion said to Kah. "It's a shame to waste a life like that. Especially that of a lady. We are not murderers, right, Cobalion, none of us wish for death."

"But none of us wish to let such a thing go unpunished either." Terrakion said.

Cobalion was silent for a time, though none of the Swords let Kah through, before finally speaking. "You claim you were asked to do this. Was it those Salamence? If so would it not have made more sense to plan more? No, there's someone else, who?"

Team Neo Not Dark, Day 16, Water Route to Mioter

"Rise and shine, everybody,"

Dora was already awake by the time that Easter made their announcement. She was on her knees on the bed. Looking at the floor. Looking at the ladder. The floor. The ladder. The fly on the wall. The floor...

And then she leapt out of the bed and went crashing into the floor.

Laying there for a few moments, Dora was absolutely motionless...Until she popped up.

Or at least tried to. She more or less began splashing in mid air, as though she were a Magikarp, trying to get to her feet. "Mornings are very difficult." she said, nodding in what she thought was a wise way.

Each of the group would be led by one of the crew members, a small crew to say the least, to a dining area. It was a rather strange looking room as both the table and chairs were attached by a pole to the floor and ceiling. The food they were presented with was simple, hard bread, dried peas, and salt pork, one of the crew members made a joke about this to Brooke before being clapped on the back of the head by the captain.

"The trip'll be a long one, lad and lasses, sorry to say. If we have fair weather it'll be 9 days till we reach the city. If we reach it that is, there's whirlpools near that city last I heard."

Dora wasn't listening. She was burying her face in the food, leaning almost onto the table in order to reach the wooden plate with her mouth.

Team Showdown, Day 22, Juyu

"Well," she chirped, "I call her by many names, such as my dear, light of my life, holder of my heart, and darling, but," she paused, "She probably introduced herself as Veronica, such a wonderful, elegant name befitting of its holder," she sighed, stars in her eyes. "A magnificent Crobat of inestimable form, she seems to sparkle in the sunlight, and glow in the night. She is not among the common ilk, her coloring being different than most. Ay me, there is nothing that is not perfect about her!"

Why did she ask. Isole didn't want to know. Why did...oh wait they actually knew who she was talking about didn't they?

Scarlet confirmed things for them and Taiga urged them to leave. It was, from what Isole has seen, the typical interactions she's gotten used to...

And then there was that one. Isole turned towards the Xatu. She put her hand up. And put it to the talkative bird's mouth. "You say...far...too....much." she said.

She looked at the other bird. "You have your answer, goodbye."

Without further ado Isole left. She knew where to go, she had found someone who would be able to more quickly bring them to Icecrown, and that's where she was heading. She didn't get far when, in a disturbing coincidence, she saw the one she was meant to talk to, a Dragonite girl, was currently speaking with...the Crobat from earlier. "Oh no. People." Isole said, unknowingly speaking out loud. She gestured towards the Dragonite. "That's the one who is going to help us get to Icecrown...they seem...busy."

Team Karaoke, Day 20, Adarid City

"We should be careful. It's dangerous..."

Oh he doesn't know the half of it. Fiona was almost amused by the thought of Lok warning her it was dangerous. Yet he was currently walking outside alone with who might be one of the more dangerous people here. She looked around. There weren't as many soldiers, no, there just wasn't as many in a small area. They were busy with their own things now so she no longer felt like she was being watched.

Fiona glanced towards Lok out of the corner of her eye. He was a strangely kind boy. And also kind of pathetic. But she didn't have many options now did she?
She couldn't imagine the others cared much for her, Kiwidinok was the one she was allied with, and barely, the others might not even know she existed. They certainly wouldn't bother protecting someone who failed in her task.

Nine, well, he was strong...But he seemed far too focused on this goal of his. And he didn't seem the type to attach to a singular person.

Gwen was similar in that she just was helpful to anyone...plus she seemed...weak.

Clotilde...no. Something about her creeped Fiona out.

So that left her with Lok. He couldn't protect her, but, maybe he could give her a sense of purpose.

Without thinking further, she went in to kiss the boy.

-----

"I'm not saying you are. And if I made you feel that way then I apologize. Truth be told, I am worried about all of you."

Gwen already knew where this was going.

There it was. He was trying to make her feel better while still protecting her. Trying to make her feel important despite all evidence to the contrary. Still, he was trying, she couldn't exactly punish him for that.

"You, both of you have been more than helpful enough to all of us and each other, there is no need for excessive self-doubt. Anyway we should leave posthas-"

As Clotilde interrupted them, causing Gwen to jump, a strange action for one with no feet to be sure, and them was promptly taken to get medicine, Gwen turned on a perfect smile.

"You're right, Nine." She said, though he wasn't. "I'm being silly." she continued, though she didn't believe it. "Everything will work out we just have to press on." To what end?

It seemed that all she could do was grin and bear it in this world. "Come now, Clotilde is right, we should get out of here as soon as we can."

----

Fiona halted as she heard the others approach, and practically jumped several feet away. "Hello companions!" She shouted awkwardly as they approached. "I guess it's time to go now yes? Yes."

She turned around only to almost run into a young man, a guard, who looked injured and had a somewhat crazed, panicked, look on his face. "You gotta help! The soldiers, they aren't doing anything, they say it's not as bad as I say, they say that she can handle herself, they say they don't need to step in but they are WRONG!"

Fiona's surprised look caused him to stop, take a breath, and continue almost as hastily. "Vita, at the Arena, the Arena Champion, there's someone...ah. Someone at the Arena. Someone really strong. He already beat the others and he's gonna beat her too. I don't know what he wants but he's not holding back at all. He's gonna kill them! I bet he'll come here next, he looked...he looked so fierce!"
