The Slums Team Karaoke

"Huh..." Lok was still in shock as to what had happen. Not moments ago, they were all contemplating as to what they were going to do when they were interrupted by a loud crashing noise that almost made him jump out of his skin. "If you guys wanted to leave, I think a friend of mine might've just helped us open a way out of these slums." He turned to Nine, whom he just noticed had joined the group. “Hey…uh…guys…I have an idea. Nine, can you follow me so I can get some cover? The Dragonite…was it, that crashed earlier, would probably distract everyone enough, so we need to rush ahead while we still get some time. However…since it wouldn’t last long, I can do something. Nine, if your friend is still in a position to help us, can you call them to us? But that aside, let’s go now as fast as we could…and please don’t forget to close your ears if I give you the signal. Ok?” Lok sighed. "Just be careful, alright?" He wasn't sure if she heard him or not. He turned around to the group. "Well, we got our distraction. We should probably head out then...?" He simply gave them a shrug. Specifically, he turned to Gwen for direction.

Coldharbour Team Showdown

While the group was talking among themselves, Isole seemed to have taken charge and gone ahead. "Hey, wait up!" Scarlet followed Isole, turning to the group to gesture them to follow them.
The guard was giving the standard greeting, although he stopped appropriately when Isole turned to glare at him. As it was Scarlet's turn to pass through the guard, she received the same greeting, although the guard seemed much more nervous this time around. However, Scarlet didn't have much time to dwell on this as she felt a sudden surge of cold winds. A small blizzard was forming on the other side of the gate. She held her arms as she shivered, but kept adamantly walking forward; her determination keeping her warm.

Team Showdown
Road to Fryst

Fetching a pen and some paper, Cabrakan quickly began writing a quick note for Bubble that would tell her to meet him at the south gate. He'd sealed it and was about to hand it off to a mailman, but Isole had already taken off before he got the chance, and Scarlet had ran off after her, issuing a wave for the others to follow her. Supposing it couldn't be helped, Cabrakan tucked the letter into his robe, supposing he might have to give it to the guards instead. True, there was the risk that the guards wouldn't follow up, but that was the risk he'd have to take.

...

It didn't take Cabrakan long to remember how cold these parts were. The howling winds caused by the recent blizzard would always cut to the bone... and yet there Isole was up ahead not even shaking. Of course, it wasn't surprising that an Ice-type was incapable of feeling the cold anywhere near as badly as any other Gijinka, but that didn't make that Isole could stroll around happily in this atrocious weather any less annoying. Thankfully, Cabrakan had his own countermeasures. He immediately set his entire body ablaze with his powers, the warmth from the flames easily able to stave off the intense cold... for the moment. However, judging by how brightly the flames were currently burning, it was unlikely that they'd stay burning for long. He could only hope that they'd last for the three days that he'd need them to. There was also the possibility that Taiga would draw too close to Cabrakan...

And of course James went on and kept running his mouth when she came down and literally pointed a sword at him. It would have been enormously cathartic to just shove it in him right then and there, but the Mightyena there saw fit to assume her means of entry were in fact her deadliest forms of attack. Perhaps an appropriate thought in most cases, but at the moment it was a mistake on their part. Of course they had a new arrival before the battle could properly resume, and what he had to say was very interesting.

"James! I have done my part, the king's best men are dead, and you have free reign of Pride Rock. Now give me what I want. Tell me how to find Xerneas!" All of this just to have a chance at a legend? That didn't make sense. Sure, Chasers were a strange sort but this was an awful lot of effort to go through. Moreover, she was under the impression that most such people would simply take the option of searching about the world on their own to try and find one. This didn't seem right for a lot of reasons, and what James said next confirmed her suspicions.

"Well, about that. I would be more than happy to give you that information, so you can do to them what you did to Volcanion-" and that was as much as she paid attention to, before returning her mind to the battle at hand. So, there was more than just the one Godslayer running about. That was something she would have to deal with another time. For now, there was the battle at hand. Though, an idea did come to her as she exerted her Pressure onto the battleground. Meeting deception with deception was an interesting idea indeed, and if she could get this Godslayer off balance then she might have an advantage in what was to come.

"Looking to kill the Lord of Life are we? You should know that the Order has no love for them, and neither does our Lord. If you wish to find Xerneas, I could grant you an audience with Darkrai and you could properly learn where to find them." Of course this relied on Jabari knowing little more about The Order in the first place than most others did, and moreover him deciding that an Assassin was more trustworthy than a would-be Kingslayer, but it could work. "I just have a little business to handle with putting down this Coup, and then we can talk. I might feel even more generous if you kill its leader while I mop up the peons." With that, she split her sword back into the pair of blades she had at first put to use, and turned her gaze onto those that remained.

The Mightyena were already being assailed by the Larvesta's flames, and so she waited until that fire had died down to strike. Moving with speed well beyond what should have been possible for her, she rushed in and delivered a strike to each of them. Though she knew her blades, shrouded with impossible sharp darkness, would not be especially effective against these foes she knew that with the improved chance of striking a vital blow it was still her best option. She did not stay to deal with them though. Instead she rushed the Pyroar left facing the King down alone, and made to drive one of her blades through his left Kidney. To the king himself, she offered a wink while her other hand dipped inside of her robes and retrieved the last remaining Super Potion she'd been carrying. He looked like he needed it more than her, and even so small a gift might be enough to make all the difference in their negotiations when that came about. So she offered it to him, balanced on the flat of her sword.

After Nine brought the hole in the wall of the slums to the group's attention, he awaited someone from the group to step up and figure out a direction that the group was going to go in. The houndoom was a bit interested as the Altaria was the first one to step up to make a decision. It wasn't as though she had a weak presence amongst the four, quite the contrary at that. It was more so that he was wondering what kind of plan it was that that odd head of hers would cook up, and how dangerous it would be to the surrounding area. As such, he felt more than obligated to see what this plan was going to be, especially given that she had asked for his aid as well. Looking back to the group he said, "well, guess you should use whatever it is the Miss is trying to do as your way of getting out of here then." With that, the boy gave a salute to the two ladies and rotom before following the Altaria away.

As she asked if he could call upon the aid of Quincy to help make a bigger distraction, Nine shook his head saying,"I'm sure it's been at least one shake of a mareep's tail, so she's bound to be long gone by now." In spite of that, she seemed to still go to carry on with it regardless. He was a bit confused by what she meant by covering his ears at her signal, but he continued to follow her along regardless. And as he followed her, he eventually hung back as the girl seemed to put herself center stage, so to speak, in front of everyone there. As she started to introduce herself, Nine couldn't help but chuckle, thinking the girl a tad crazy, though in a different way from normal. However, as she continued on, he soon got the meaning of her warning, and thus tried to keep himself a bit hidden, yet covered his ears shut before the girl began her song. Now he was just curious to see just how this would work out for her.

Team Sexual Tension
Pride Rock

One moment Beatrice was trying to reason with Jabari, and the next she was whisked away from his vicinity. Normally, she would berate Denku for pulling her away from such an important fight... but she didn't have the strength to argue with anyone right now. Her main priority for the moment was to keep her breathing in check, and ensure she didn't drown in whatever blood she'd have otherwise coughed up.

...

As Denku went into the main Pride Rock area, Beatrice could see the horrible turn of events unfold right before her eyes. No doubt the Mightyena would have the upper hand in this large scale fight that had broken out. At least the civilians were safe, but still...

"Damn it..." Beatrice cursed under her breath, "Why in the world... did I ever... side with that bastard?"

She paused, partially because she was out of breath, and partially because she was half-expecting Denku to answer that question for her. She didn't know what she was thinking at the time, or why she was so fixated on James' offer or why the only way to get her to change her mind always involved her being on the receiving end of a concussion. Thankfully she did remember that Richard would still be in that cavern in which Fjanna's ritual was meant to take place, and she could see the entrance to that cavern in the distance. She pointed towards it with one lance.

"...there. That's where... James and Richard will be-" Beatrice hacked up more blood, dropping the lance as she did so, "sheet... OK... I lived longer than... I thought I would... I'll give myself that. Probably longer than... I deserve to... at this point. "

She wished she could say more, but her current condition wouldn't allow for it. Whether she was willing to admit it or not, what Beatrice really needed was a moment to recover from her injuries, and she needed to put the thought of exacting revenge aside... at least until she could fight again.

Coldharbour

"I'm surrounded by idiots."

"Well just remember you're one of those idiots now, ya dang square!"  Taiga snickered.  As soon as she had regained her composure, she was left in the dust by her band of freeloaders.  "Hey!  W-w-wait up!"

Taiga ignored the guards pleasantries.  The total one-eighty change in their mood irked Taiga.  People who flipped emotions on a dime were always the sketchiest.  As they left the town of Coldharbour, they were met with the blistering cold winds that gave it's place it's chilly reputation.  Taiga, in her skimpy attire, started shivering almost instantly.

"Boy...maybe we should've taken that fiery one eh?  Fufufufu...."  It was no offense to Isole, just a pretty blatant observation.

As Denku ran back to the giant Rock, he heard Bea curse."Dammit, Why in the world... did I ever... side with that bastard?"

"Because he was a deceptive and charismatic man in a world of honest and blunt idiots," Denku answered. "Don't beat yourself up. I honestly considered joining him to before being attacked by that pack of Mightyena," He looked at her in his arms. Gods, she looked so bad... And it was his fault. It was a quiet run to the main cavern, where Bea spoke up again.

"...there. That's where... James and Richard will be-" Beatrice hacked up more blood, dropping the lance as she did so, "s***... OK... I lived longer than... I thought I would... I'll give myself that. Probably longer than... I deserve to... at this point. "

"Don't say that," he swiftly countered. "You made a mistake... You don't deserve to die over it," He looked into the room and saw absolute chaos. Richard and Fia would doing an okay job of holding back the enemies and...

Hell no. Jabari had somehow beaten them back and was... Holding James by the throat. Either way, Jabari was too much for his broken body right now, and Bea was in no condition to be here.

"Nope," he said simply before starting to walk backwards in a stylish fashion, looking oddly like a man walking on the moon. "Right now, you're more important," he added as he headed back to the room Bea and Fia stayed in last night.

To his relief, his cloak and mask was still in the corner. He gently laid Bea on one of the beds before he took off his shirt, tying it around the cut on Bea's head. He then walked over to his cloak, taking it off and wrapping it around Bea like a blanket. "I'm sorry...," he muttered as he grabbed his mask, placing it over the lower half of his face. Without another word, he left the room, heading back into the battle. He only hoped his body was ready.

Team Mac, Ditto Village

Mac frowned as Suiten gave his name. How very weird. She shrugged, her excitement overloading everything else. Yes even Ari's comment. Mac stuck her tongue out at the boy, and turned her attention to Suiten.

"Really, I'm not that famous. In fact, I didn't think I was famous at all. Still, thank you,"

"Hehe." Mac said, scratching the back of her head. "I guess it's cause I did so much research..."

"So you are Chasers, and you managed to face Regirock and live to tell the tale. Impressive, though I'm sorry for all the trouble my friends have caused you. I suppose it is my turn, then. I am Suiten, and just like you, I am a Chaser. I stumbled upon this place not too long ago while searching for the legends, and have been protecting it since. Though truthfully, they do not require my aid. Rather, I feel more like I have been the one being taken care of. To be honest, you have been the most excitement this place has seen since I got here. I suppose I was hoping you were enemies to fight off. Still, I'm glad you came."

He talks more than expected... "Yeah, also, also, I met Raikou too! I seem to be pretty good at meeting legends, heh." Mac said proudly.

Her bragging was cut off as the Ditto swarmed once more. She pouted, trying to push past them to Suiten. "C'moooon, stooooop." She complained, small sparks of electricity instinctively coming off of her body.

"We've got legends to chase and fights to win. I need to get strong and pay Regirock back for making me lose a fight, and I don't even know where to find R--"

Mac's gaze snapped to Kah. R...R....she didn't buy Kah's words that came later. She was looking for something with an R? Hmm. Why would she hide it?

However there was something else she had in mind. She pushed away from the Ditto to make her way towards Suiten. "Yeah, we're gonna head out...but I have...something to ask you." Mac said. She seemed to realize something and then said. "C'mon I wanna talk to you about something....Hey all of you." She said towards the Ditto with a grin. "We're gonna be leaving soon so you better play with those three as much as possible, hehehe." She giggled as the Ditto glomped the group with even more intensity, while she and Suiten went to have a little chat...

Team Neo Not Dark, Outside of Deku

The sad scene started to break up as people began to gather in groups and leave. It seemed the majority of them were heading towards Juyu, the closest city.

Dora got many pats on her head as the Gijinka left, and she started to feeling a bit more chipper as time went on. It was made only better by the pretty lady asking to join them. Fawkes asked Brooke, but Dora didn't bother with that. She just waddled over towards Easter, looked her up and down, and nodded. "Yaaaay a new friend!" She nudged her head against Easter's side and giggled. Her eyes glanced over towards Sam's grave but she looked away quickly.

The time had come to decide where to go.

The most logical direction was north, to Juyu, however both Easter and Fawkes had just come from there. It was unlikely Fawkes and Dora could handle the trip over the mountains and that just left one direction.

"We're heading to Fryyyyst!" Dora called out, spinning around and laughing.

A few of the Gijinka nearby overheard her and approached the group. "That's a long, cold, way, kids...here you may want these." They seemed reluctant but one look at Dora decided it for them. They handed over a couple thick blankets, and several days worth of food, before sending them off.

Dora led the pack, or at least tried to, she tripped a couple times which made it hard for her to stay ahead of the rest.

The next couple days were fairly uneventful, especially in comparison to the destruction of Deku, but the whole time Dora told random stories she heard about princesses, evil witches, and other such tales. She would break into song during these stories and urge the rest to join in.

It wasn't until the evening of the second day out, as they got nearer to the frozen tundra, since they were taking the road there they had just been skirting it, that something happened.

A sandstorm suddenly whipped up out of nowhere, despite that no sand was around, and that they were near the tundra which should have meant hail would be the weather.

Dora, having never experienced a Sandstorm, was extremely excited. It didn't seem to hurt her like the others and she ran farther ahead of them, vanishing from vision on occasion.

The group would soon enough hear a sudden yelp coming from Dora and, if they went to investigate, they would find her laying on her back and staring at the sky. "Hehe I fell." She said.

The sandstorm around them started to fade, and they were able to see the darkening sky above. Dora tilted her head and pointed upwards. "What's that?" A blazing trail could be seen far above them, as some sort of object raced across the sky...

Team Karaoke, Adarid Streets

Gwen wasn't sure what Alleria planned but she put her trust in the girl that things would work out. She watched as the girl made a great show of making herself visible. Was she planning on sacrificing herself to let them sneak out? No, that just wasn't right...and then the girl began to sing. Memories of earlier encounters alongside Alleria went through Gwen's head and she covered her ears to muffle the sound.

She was so focused on the girl that she didn't even notice Lok was waiting for her to say or do something.

Fiona, noticing this, groaned and grabbed Lok's hand. "L...Let's go." She said, firmly, but with a nervous twang, as she practically dragged Lok out of the area, covering one ear to try and block out the sound.

Gwen gave a start as Fiona blazed past her. "Well then, she's Rapidashing right along." She looked at Nine and smiled. "Shall we?"

The group hurried through the hole in the wall, as Alleria's singing caught the attention of the guards.

Who, it seemed, were starting to doze off at the noise. Gwen knew that wouldn't be enough and, loath as she was to do it, launched her leaves at the nearest guards who seemed to be ready to attack the singing Altaria. Fiona, with much less hesitance, fired off pins in their direction as well.

One guard got closer, and dodged around the attacks, coming up with by Alleria.

And then Quincy fell from the sky, asleep, and landed on him.

"Come on everyone, we need to go, fast!"

Looking around, Gwen decided it would be best to go east as quick as possible, avoiding the main streets where she could see Gijinka, mostly Flying and Ground, fighting. As well as the Imperial Guard, many of which seemed to compose of Lucario footsoldiers.

Thankfully they had left the slums somewhere behind the library and was able to, for the most part, avoid the major roads as they made their way to the gate.

The group could see the last guard station which stood between them and leaving Adarid.

However they also could see the Al, the Nidoking gang boss, waiting there. "Seems things have gotten really funked up since I decided to help you. I don't think I can just let you go like that."

Gwen narrowed her eyes. There was just him alone but...she noticed the ground shifting around them. Something was there, many somethings. "We can't afford to waste time fighting." Gwen said. She looked towards Fiona. "Hit me." At the confused look Gwen repeated. "Hit. Me."

Fiona shrugged, knowing it was a weird group. One of her twintails glowed with dark energy and she slammed it into Gwen's stomach, causing the girl to double over.
Gwen coughed, feeling her energy slip from her, but she carried forward. She locked eyes with Al and suddenly she started to feel better, as she split the pain with him. "You jabroni, you'll pay for that, I'll kill you all!"

This savage threat would be heard by not only the group, but also a young Aggron girl who had ended up in this part of the city, during the mayhem.

Al was distracted, though not for long, they'd need to all work together to get past him fast enough so they could escape, otherwise they'd be trapped in this city at war.

Team Showdown, Road to Fryst

"Boy...maybe we should've taken that fiery one eh?  Fufufufu...."

"Edna would probably warm you with a Thunderbolt if you tried to get her to heat you up...hm. Not a bad idea..." Isole said in an indecipherable monotone.

The hail wasn't all too heavy and they were able to move along despite it, though they'd be extremely battered if they didn't find some way to protect themselves.

The next day the hail was almost gone, however something even odder happened that evening. The sun suddenly grew extremely hot for several minutes, and Isole ended up passing out from the heat. Though she was safe, she woke the next day with an intense migraine. Which, for some reason, she blamed on Cabrakan.

Finally, they were nearing Fryst. They could see the giant fortress, which stretched at least a hundred, perhaps more, feet in the air. And that was just the wall. The three spires at each corner added another twenty feet in height. The gate was massive, thirty feet tall, and seemed to open horizontally. Standing guard in front of it were a trio of large Avalugg, though none as unusual and deformed as the one they fought earlier.

As they approached, they would hear a cracking. The intense sun from the day before had weakened the ice, and Scarlet would find herself suddenly plunging into the ice cold water, as the cracks began to spread out along the ice.

Team Sexual Tension, Pride Rock

The Mightyena that Fia dodged, again, seemed to be getting angry at her repeated maneuvers. They yelled at her to come back down and fight. And got their wish as she crash landed on one of them, slamming them into the ground while they let out a yelp. The other backed away as she unleashed her flames, but managed to keep from getting struck by most of them.

From behind her she heard the Mightyena she had landed on Taunting her. "That the best you got? Granny has more oomph than you, haaaaaahaaaahaaaaaaa!" The words were petty, yet, Fia felt something stir in her mind as they were issued. Something that made her want to attack more.

The other Mightyena took advantage and touched his hand to the ground. The floor which he touched turned wet and mud launched out, slapping Fia across the eyes.

But then the Absol came in all of a sudden. The one who had used Mud Slap was able to avoid the attack, as she was not focused on striking him. Though the other was cut across the face by the blade, and cried out while bringing a hand to his bleeding wound, distracted from making any further attack.

The Pyroar let out a shout as he was pierced suddenly, his wound being a grievous one. Richard looked at the potion the woman offered but didn't take it.

The enemy Pyroar, shaking from the exertion, turned a hand towards Whisper and launched a gout of Flamethrower at her. In that moment Richard grabbed the traitor by the head and pulled him towards the king, then slammed his skull into the wall.

Meanwhile James was thinking about the assassins words. She was clearly trying something, and he didn't like it. If Jabari decided he could find Xerneas another way...he wouldn't have need of James. With reluctance James spoke. "I will...tell...let...go."

Jabari glowered at James and loosened his grip slightly. James whispered something to him, evidently giving the information needed. "Now." He said louder. "If you would be so kind to le-" Jabari tightened his grip suddenly around James' neck, and a sharp snapping sound could be heard throughout the cave. With a grunt, Jabari turned and hurled James' body aside and headed back for the gap in the wall he had entered from.

The nameless Whimsicott acted suddenly, moving at high speed towards the Zebstrika and blasting out a pink energy beam at the man. Jabari dodged to the side and waited for the Whimsicott to get closer before hitting him with a roundhouse kick and sending him across the room. Without any more words Jabari slipped out of the passage as the wall closed once more behind him.

The two remaining Mightyena paused, before suddenly rushing out of the room. Richard let out a pain-filled roar as he went to where his brother lay, dead. He fell to his knees and brought a hand to the man's chest. "He is...dead. My brother...He may have been a traitor but...he was still my brother..."
Richard knelt there for a short time, when the shouts from the battle still ongoing came to his ears. He stood. "This must wait. My people are still in danger, our enemy is many." He looked towards Fia and Whisper. "Jabari is heading for the Bringer of Life as we speak. I would not have expected him to be any threat to them. However after today...I beg of you, go, with Rafiq, go and protect them. I cannot offer you anything, as I do not know if I will be alive for long. I ask you this because I have no other choice. Whatever you choose, choose it quickly. I have a battle to finish." Richard stood and walked out of the room, heading for the heart of the battle.

Rafiq somberly approached the Whimsicott and helped him to his feet. "We go now. Follow if you wish." He said simply, as the two left. They headed up a thin stairway, barely noticeable, that led to the rock shelf that stuck out from the side of Pride Rock. From there they would take several pathways out of the mountain. If either Fia or Whisper wished to join them they'd have to go quickly. And if they needed to get anything, or find someone, before leaving Rafiq would give them a brief time to do so. However beyond this, the Ambipom and Whimsicott had a destination in mind and nothing would stop them from getting there.

Adarid City
A brand new morning was best greeted with calming, appreciative silence and a bright smile on one's face. Both of these were sadly lacking in Clotilde Cavendish's immediate vicinity. While the Aggron lady was never able to form a satisfactory smile, she at least often woke to a tranquil morning. That day it wasn't quite as tranquil.

Due to her strained financial situation she had decided to stay at a cheap inn near the slum area of Adarid city the previous night and now she was starting to regret it, and regret was bad. Very bad. Outside there seemed to be some sort of conflict occurring. Some sort of gang violence. They were trivial and petty fights, Clotilde was sure, but even those quickly escalate if the involved was remotely competent in combat, and most residents on the continent were for some reason. The noise from the conflict was more than audible even in her room two floors up and she wondered, were they fighting out in broad daylight? If someone was accepting noise complaints then she would certainly like to file one in.

Perhaps she could stay in and wait out the conflict...That was certainly the safest choice. She would've loved to, absolutely.

But as she sat on her bed(which barely qualified as one, she felt) attempting to read through her novel backlog, the distraction kept her from pouring her full attention into her book and before she knew it, she was sneaking out the inn with her belongings. Perhaps she was more fickle than she thought she was but she shall not tolerate this disturbance any longer. It was time she leave Adarid again. Can't an unemployed maid-slash-chaser read her smut in peace? Plus it wasn't as if she was having much luck finding relevant information on what she was searching for here.

Unfortunately the gang conflict did fill up the streets. Violence was everywhere. For the first time in a while she felt truly thankful of the days she spent maid training, because without that it would've been impossible for her to stealthily navigate through the chaos without being noticed. On second thought it did not seem like the sort of thing one would usually learn from maid training but Clotilde supposed, elite maid schools were always unorthodox.

"You b****, you'll pay for that, I'll kill you all!" Eventually Clotilde reached the area near Adarid Gate when she saw an injured Nidoking aggressively confronting a bunch of distinctively strange-looking people. It was hard to tell the circumstances behind this scene but it was apparent the Nidoking was trying to prevent them from leaving. As a fellow person trying to exit Adarid, as someone gunning to Adarexit, this was most troublesome. Perhaps they would appreciate her assistance, Clotilde thought.

She walked up to the Nidoking who did not notice her short stature at first, and with the manners she picked up from her maid academy days, flashed him her best attempt at a smile yet. "Excuse me, you're being somewhat of a nuisance. There are people trying to leave, so could you kindly step aside?"

“Well, uh, that went better than expected.”

Alleria’s singing was interrupted as a Dragonite fell from the sky near her. Looking at how the dragon was soundly asleep, perhaps it was another one of the unintentional audience she had. It’s a pity to see a fan of hers ended up taking the brunt of her Sing, but at least, for the most part she managed to subdue the guards enough for her group to “sneak” past them, if that’s the right words to use. Either way, Alleria followed the others’ lead after making sure that there wasn’t much of the guards to chase after them by using her Dazzling gleam on anyone she saw to be still conscious enough.

The streets were filled with combatants, so much that the group couldn’t risk going anywhere near it at all. To think that just two days ago she almost joined one side of this war, Alleria was thankful that the decision ended up getting withheld. Although, seeming the bloodshed on the streets somehow felt pretty nice. Deplorable as it was, it looked exciting enough and had it not for her needing to make sure her group and Fiona to be safe, she would’ve joined in, at the very least to try stopping it. Although maybe joining in to fight wouldn’t be too bad…

“You jabroni, you’ll pay for that, I’ll kill you all!”

Huh, something happened while she was too focused watching the carnage on the streets. Alleria turned around to see a Nidoking, perhaps the boss of one of the gangs, currently threatening Fiona and the others after Gwen used Pain Split on him. They couldn’t waste time fighting him, but he’s standing in their way as a threat. Alleria considered using Sing again, but with how livid the Nidoking looked like, Alleria doubted that her voice could reach his heart. Then…what should she-

“Excuse me, you’re being somewhat of a nuisance. There are people trying to leave, so could you kindly step aside?”

Alleria looked at the newly arriving Aggron girl…maid something oddly. Asking him kindly on moving away seems odd…really odd. There’s no way the Nidoking would listen…although, perhaps talking really is a way to answer this situation.

“Uh…I’m sorry…but I don’t think any of us has anything to do with this. You’re blind with your outrage, and we are here…well, we’re just bystanders in this entire conflict.

I mean uh…it’s not like keeping us in would do anything for you. If you are here to conduct revenge, then it’s misplaced. There is a lot more important things to do than keeping us in like this. So please, move aside.

I would rather not kill you. If you die while trying to pass on an unjustified wrath to us, I think dying as meaninglessly as that would be quite a disservice to your nephew.”

“That the best you got? Granny has more oomph than you, hahaaaaahaaaaaa!”

The petty insult caught Fia’s attention as she stood up after dealing with one of the Mightyenas and shifted her gaze from what she thought to be Bea and Denku on the distance. As petty as the insult was, she could feel something inside of her snapping the moment she heard that, and she then turned to the source of that insult, looking absolutely livid. One of the other Mightyena slapped her with mud then, which obscured her vision somewhat, but at this point, Fia was only thinking on attacking the insulting Mightyena. Her hands were caught on fire as she started up her Fire Dance again, and went into a trance as she rushed forward to attack the Mightyena.

It was hard for her to see, but all that she was thinking of doing was just attack, attack, and attack. Striking everything she could feel as a Gijinka’s body with her flames, her savage dance continued, and her movements became wilder as she was hunting for the one that insulted her. When she thought she found the source, she focused all of the fire from that dance into him, and ended her dance. She wiped the mud from her face and turned away, uncaring on whatever happened to her target.

“Next time you want to insult me, please use actual effort in making one.

Your careless and effortless insult deeply offends me.”

However, as the Taunt wore off, she started to notice something else that was happening around the same time. She looked at how Jabari murdered James, god riddance, and how the Whimsicott from earlier tried to attack him to no avail. Fia thought about how it was quite convenient that the traitor got rid of himself like that, but she realized how much of a threat Jabari actually was, despite the fact he was the one that ended James.

"He is...dead. My brother...He may have been a traitor but...he was still my brother..."

“That…is something that I can understand.” Fia’s mind wandered to Bea at that moment as she watched the king knelt beside his brother’s corpse.

“This must wait. My people are still in danger, our enemy is many." He stood up, and looked towards Fia and Whisper. I have a battle to finish."

"We go now. Follow if you wish."

“I…”

Fia was faced with two choices now. Should she follow the sage so she could stop Jabari from vanquishing the Bringer of Life?  That was a part of what she willed herself to do when she spoke with the Flames of Rebirth earlier, but on the other hand, Denku and Bea was near…and she knew that they were hurt due to her motherly instinct. With this civil war raging, it was imperative for her as a mother to protect her children, but that would mean defying the oath she made to her own mother.

No…she cannot.

That was it, no? Her resolve, her spirit was being tested now. As much as it hurt her heart to do so, she had promised her mother that she would help her, and it seemed that fate itself had opened this path for her. She was sincerely hoping that both Denku and Bea could find safety somewhere in these rocks. They were grown-ups, after all. Despite her motherly worries, they should be able to take care of themselves. And, if her resolve is weak, how could she even protect her kids?

That was it then. Her heart had decided her next destination.

“I…will follow Rafiq, in that case. The Flames of Rebirth had told me to do so.

My king…I am sorry that I couldn’t tell you about James’ betrayal earlier. I was already aware of it for quite a while, but I am afraid to tell you…because I know it would be hard for you to believe.

I’ll…I will take my leave now. May your flames shine as bright as ever by the end of this day, my king.”

Suppressing her doubts as much as she could, she turned around after addressing the king, and rushed to follow Rafiq and the Whimsicott that had left the group earlier.

The Slums Team Karaoke

It didn't take very long for the group to decide their course of actions, nor did it take long for the group, more specifically Fiona, to make a decision for him. Before he knew it, Fiona had grabbed him by the hand and dashed towards the exit towards the group. Luckily, due to his ability to Levitate and his relatively low weight, he managed to not be dragged across the dirt; instead, he seemed to wave about like a flag. He barely managed to cover one of his free ears while being dragged as he noticed the guards around them dozing off.

Eventually they reached the gate that would allow them to leave the slums. However, it seemed that they weren't going to be able to leave without a fight, as Al stood there. "Seems things have gotten really f***ed up since I decided to help you. I don't think I can just let you go like that." He had a very menacing look in his eyes, which only seem to grow in anger as Gwen used Pain Split. “You b****, you’ll pay for that, I’ll kill you all!” Lok stepped back a bit, instinctively hiding behind the group. Before he could deploy a group of clones, however, an Aggron had joined the scene. "Excuse me, you're being somewhat of a nuisance. There are people trying to leave, so could you kindly step aside?"

If you die while trying to pass on an unjustified wrath to us, I think dying as meaninglessly as that would be quite a disservice to your nephew.” He turned around to Alleria before turning back to Al. He wasn't quite sure if a diplomatic solution would work, but it would definitely be nice if they could leave without entering another big fight. "P-Please, sir..." He stepped up nervously to Al "Please let us leave. We're sorry if we've caused any trouble - we really didn't mean to! We just wanted to retrieve a book..." He grabbed his side, looking down at the ground. "We don't want a fight..." He dropped down on his knees, bending over. "Please, let us out..."

Outskirts of Fryst Team Showdown

The hail only seemed to get more intense the farther they went, although it was never intense enough to deter them from going onward. However, Scarlet did need to use her large pincers to block most of the hail. While it worked for the most part, she woke up the next day a bit bruised on her sides. Oddly enough, the next day was sunny - to the point where, sometime in the evening, the sun seemed to flare up in the heat. Scarlet almost passed out alongside Isole due to the sudden increase in heat. She managed to avoid passing out by sticking closer to Taiga and farther away from Cabrakan during the heat surge, at times asking Taiga to splash her with some water. After making sure that Isole was safe the next day, they continued onwards.

They were exceptionally close, as they could see what seemed to be the walls of a castle. A trio of Avalugg, notably not monstrous like the one on the ship, guarded the castle. Scarlet took the initiative and started walking towards the Avalugg, waving at them. Before she knew it, however, she found herself suddenly dropping into icy cold waters. She had barely managed to cling onto the ice with her claws before completely dropping into the water. It would seem that the combination of the sun and her heavier weight had caused the ice below her to crumble. "H-Help!" She exclaimed before the ice that she was clinging onto gave in, dropping her and a large chunk of ice into the cold abyss. This time she wasn't able to grab onto the ice as she found herself falling deeper into the water. She tried to dash out of the water using the ice that had fallen with her to propel her upwards, but she only managed to hit the surface and get a breathe of air due to the water affecting her wings. It was apparent that the water was not her habitat, as she flailed and struggled to keep afloat. Eventually she found herself sinking into the water again, barely managing to stick one of her arms out of the water as she descended. She couldn't remember the last time she felt fear like this as she entered the depth of the water.

Team Showdown
Outskirts of Fryst

"Finally, an alternate source of warmth," Cabrakan had breathed a sigh of relief as he said this, shutting off the flames around his body now that he no longer needed them. While it was true that the heat wave must not have been natural in the slightest, he wasn't about to complain about its presence. After all, there was no way he'd be able to handle prolonged cold for long.

Though it did cause problems for Isole, who'd blacked out from the heat wave and woke up the next day with a migraine. This was something that she was quick to blame Cabrakan himself for which... wasn't surprising in hindsight. But still...

"Hey, if I had anything to do with yesterday's sudden heat wave, Taiga would've froze from having fallen into the drink already," he'd put out there, "Now let's keep moving. If I recall correctly, we should be able to see the main gate in the distance shortly."

...

Sure enough, there it was. The iconic fortress of Fryst could just be seen over the horizon in the far yonder. The gate was of course right in front of that, or as looked to be the case anyway considering how far away the party was, and standing in front of that Cabrakan had made out three Avalugg Gijinka that were presumably standing guard. It was only these guards that were now in between him and his daughter.

"Well... here we are," he said to himself, before turning to the others, "I don't remember if we need a toll to get past that gate up ahead, and I sure hope none of us would have to pay one. But... should that be the case, as unfortunate as it would be..."

He was just about to either nominate Taiga to pay for the entirety of the toll, or at least call 'not it' if she would be playing that card, but the sound of splashing stopped him in his tracks. As he turned to see what was happening, Cabrakan had noted the big gaping hole in the ice... as well as the severe cracks surrounding it, which were showing signs of spreading. His first instinct was to back away before they got to close to him and the others. But as he did so, he noticed that someone was missing, and not exactly someone he wanted out of his sight either.

"Scarlet?!" he exclaimed in a concerned manner, instantly assuming she was the one to have fallen into the ice. This was later verified by her call for help, and judging by the way that she was thrashing about, it would only be a matter of time before her strength would fail her. To make matters worse, the ice between Cabrakan's feet was weakening by the second, and he couldn't afford to fall in alongside her. Supposing there was nothing for it, Cabrakan lurched forward, using his telekinesis on himself to stay above the ice, and scarcely managed to grasp Scarlet's claw.

"Good grief, Scarlet, you must weigh... as near as makes no difference... a ton!" Cabrakan's own physical strength was pushed to his limits as he said this, beginning to wane before he even managed to bring Scarlet's head above water, never mind the rest of her body. His old age wasn't helping, and neither was the fact that he had nothing he could trust would have his support. But even if those weren't a factor at all, it was clear that Scarlet would need further help if she was going to make it back on her feet. Though in all honesty, one could not fault Cabrakan from trying his damnedest out there.

As the Altaria's plan went into action, it seemed that things were working out for the best for them. The guards were starting to be put into a bit of a slumber, and those that weren't were few and far between. As the gang made a break for it, those guards that remained in awake and alert attempted to bar their path, but both with the combined strength of the five members of this group and an aid from an angel falling from the skies onto them, everything seemed to work out completely in their favor. And so the group made their way down town, trying to exit the place before they were trapped in the city for the foreseeable future. However, as they made their way through the city, they were eventually stopped by someone who Nine was only partially familiar with. "Of all the people," Nine muttered under his breath. There he was, the Fonz "King" of a large gaggle of ground types. One of the two biggest problems of this city, trying to stop them dead in their tracks.

Nine was sure that the five of them could easily take on the Nidoking that stood before them, however it was readily apparent that he wasn't all by himself, and Nine was not exactly a fan of taking on an army of ground types head on. Nevertheless, he'd have to think of something to do fast in order to at least distract the Nidoking, and was admired by the ghost, Gwedoline's, quick thinking on how to start accomplishing this. Thinking of a way to do just that, a Nasty Plot formed in Nine's head as a pulse of darkness went through him, amping him up in order to follow through with it. However, before he could, someone new came in to talk with the man. While Nine thought this aggron's appearance made for a great distraction, two others of their group had decided that this was the time for diplomacy.

While Nine didn't think Al was in the mood to talk, at all, he couldn't really just try something else while everyone else was in the middle of this. So instead he decided to try it their way as well. "Yeah, we're not really looking to pick a fight here with you, we're just trying to leave here as fast as possible. And even if you're looking for a fight, you can't possibly think that you and all of your men with you will get out of this unscathed. And do you really think it's worth wasting that man power on a group of stragglers when Sal's and you are finally having that big showdown of yours." Nine still didn't think it would work, and was ready for the worst case scenario, but he also didn't expect to come face to face with all kinds of legends yesterday, so who could really say.

Road to Fryst/Outer Wall

During the light hailstorm, Taiga made sure to cling close to scarlet for protection.  Her armor was much more suitable at deflecting icy shrapnel than her rough skin...but that didn't stop bruises from showing up on both her and Scarlet the next day.  Taiga's were more scattered than the ones that exclusively showed up on Scarlet's side however.

The next day was extremely strange weather-wise.  The heat from the sun was banging down on them the whole trek to Fryst.  Isole even fainted from intense heat sickness.  They stopped right then, and continued when she woke up with a slight headache.  While traveling, Scarlet constantly asked for Taiga to splash water on everyone, but she barely had enough to keep her skin moist.  She caved in though, and made sure to splash water on the delicates from time to time.  Looking over to Cabrakan, he seemed to have a smug aura about him...they had been in such cold temperatures before, but now that the others were struggling, he was feeling a spry as a Spoink.

When they neared the enormous fortress, Taiga scanned the wall that led straight up into the air.  Her vision was impaired at a certain height, as the sun glared in her eyes.  Three Avalugs guarded the entrance, much more civil looking than the one that had assaulted them before.

"Fufufu...As if Ice-types can guard a giant ice wall from invaders.  These elitist types think that they're safe from anything don't the-"

"H-Help!"

The shout made her head spin on a dime.  She hadn't noticed the ice collapsing beneath them for a second, and now Scarlet had fallen into the chilling waters below.  Cabrakan was the first to respond by grabbing onto a desperate hand.  Taiga turned to the Avallugs and gritted her teeth.

"Some help these bozos were..."  Taiga took a running start before diving into the waters below.  She rushed past Scarlet underwater, heading deeper and deeper into the icy depths.  If Taiga didn't know better, she'd think her skin was freezing over by now.  After travelling down a certain distance,  water began to swirl beneath her, making her rise to the surface incredibly fast.  Once Scarlet was back in site, she braced herself to grab the metal lug.  She wasn't exactly wearing light metals after all.  Taiga rose from the waters surface with Scarlet in her arms, the two riding a rising geyser of water, at the same level that Cabrakan was floating with his telekinesis.

"We're teaching you how to swim...fufufu..." Taiga laughed, noticeably tuckered out.

Well, that certainly did not go entirely as planned. She had hoped to lure the Zebstrika into a trap with that, and thus enable herself to slip a poisoned dagger between his ribs. And of course the King refused her offer of healing. That made sense of course, his brother had called her an Assassin right in front of his face so he had little reason to trust her. So while the remaining peons were finished off, she had slipped it back into her robes and turned around just in time to see James apparently telling Jabari where to find Xerneas before promptly having his neck snapped. All in all, it was a fine mess that things had turned out in and certainly not at all what she had been hoping for.

"Jabari is heading for the Bringer of Life as we speak. I would not have expected him to be any threat to them. However after today... I beg of you, go, with Rafiq, go and protect them." And then everything turned around in an instant. She turned her attention directly towards the king and studied him for a time, before a wide smile crossed her lips behind her scarf. It was not often that an Assassin bowed to a King, but when a contract was being initiated that was only appropriate.

"Your Majesty," she said as he was leaving and Fia was deciding whether or not to go, "If you would indulge me for a moment." Not that she gave him much choice in the matter, as she grabbed him by the hand and knelt before him. It only took a few moments, and there were only a few words to say, but the time must be taken and the words must be said.

"As I have sworn to my Lord, I swear to you.

Your enemies shall die by my hand

Else I shall die by theirs."

As she finished her simple oath, she rose from her kneeling posture and once more stood before the king. "And so the contract is sealed." Still, she felt the need to leave the King with something else. He was strong, but his foes were many and she was obliged to do what she could to protect her contractor in the time that she was bound to him. "We can discuss the matter of payment when we have less pressing matters weighing down upon us. For now, though, take this until I am able to return and properly do my duty to you." So it was that she slipped the charcoal ring off of her finger, and placed it in the King's hand, only to dart off before he had the opportunity to object. She did need to follow the old Ambipom to know where her quarry would be, after all.

Day 10 cont.

"As um... Nice as that sounds," Kazo spoke up. "We... Can't... We have.... Lotsa chasing to do... Ya know, because we're Chasers."

"He's right," Kah added. "We've got legends to chase and fights to win. I need to get strong and pay Regirock back for making me lose a fight, and I don't even know where to find R--" Kah cut herself off there. "Where to find restorative herbs," she continued. "If I keep ending up like I have been, I'll need them."

"Awwww," the Ditto synchronized.

"Yeah, we're gonna head out...but I have...something to ask you." Mac said, pausing. "C'mon I wanna talk to you about something....Hey all of you." She said towards the Ditto with a grin. "We're gonna be leaving soon so you better play with those three as much as possible, hehehe."

"All right!" they chirped, and immediately swarmed the trio, showing off their transformation skills by forming themselves into clones with funny faces.

"Look! I'm doing the worm!" one of them, disguised as Kazo, said.

"Look! My chest is bigger than yours!" another, disguised as Kah, said.

"Look! I'm taller than you!" yet a third, disguised as Ari, said.

"I'll get bigger soon! Just you wait," the real Litleo grumbled.

--

When Mac and Suiten returned, the Samurott glanced at the group before bowing once more. "It seems I am to go with you. You have great timing. I was just thinking of leaving anyway."

"Whaaat?" the assembled Ditto protested. "But nooo! You're our cool and cuddly Sweeswee!"

"D-don't call me that! And it's not as if you brats need me anyway," he grumbled.

Thus, it was amidst a chorus of "don't gooooo" and "byyyyye" that the group left the village. The Ditto even went so far as to cling to the members, and Mac had to pry the littlest Ditto from her pack, where it had decided to hide. But eventually, they left, Ditto-free.

Soon after, they passed by a lake. The water shone a bright blue, splotched with green from the reflections of the needly trees above. No matter how Ari squinted his eyes, he couldn't see the other side, though he knew it must have an end to it. Unless it was the ocean. But it didn't look like the ocean. The waves looked like small wrinkles rather than small hills, and the water didn't smell like salt or fish. Instead, it smelled like plants and fresh things.

Suiten gazed at the lake with a strange expression. It looked like the expression Ari's dad made when talking to him about being a king. A mixture of sadness and...happiness? But why would someone be both sad and happy about something? "I love this lake," the old man guy said. "In all my travels, never have I come across a better one." He liked to speak in a weird order too.

"It's so big," the Litleo chimed in. "Bigger than the hole in Mac's stomach," he couldn't resist adding.

Day 9

"Yaaaay a new friend!" Dora squealed. Easter patted her on the head. Kids. Later, they decided to head to Fryst. Out of all the locations, it made the most sense. Easter himself had just come from Juyu, and though he had originally been headed toward Adarid...well. He had left the place deciding to get stronger. But...he probably still wasn't strong enough to face...her. So he didn't complain when they set on Fryst for their next destination.

And then they were given supplies by the others. Easter didn't try to pull anything this time, still sobered by the loss of Sam the Bisharp. He merely thanked them for their consideration, before resuming his preparations. Fryst was cold, after all, so he had to pack warmly. Been a while since I've been all the way out there. Last time was with...the group. I wonder how they're doing. I saw Rei and Noishe, but the others...? Shaking his head, the Sylveon picked up a parka. I'll need this for sure.

--

Day 10

On the second evening of their journey, a sandstorm came out of nowhere. Easter knew that such things weren't natural. Especially not in the tundra. Glancing up at the sky, he couldn't help but wonder if it were the work of the weather god itself. Wrapping his scarf tighter around his face, he tried not to get any sand in his eyes. Instead, his sensitive ears twitched, attempting to sense his location through hearing. It was hard with the roar of the wind and the sand that wanted to lodge itself in his ears, though.

Dora would run ahead of the group, but Easter paid her no mind. After all, she was part-ground, so the sandstorm didn't hurt her like it did the rest of them. Eventually, he heard a yelp from her, and when he rushed to investigate, she was lying on the ground, staring up at the sky. "Hehe I fell."

Around that time, the sting of the sandstorm started to fade, and the Wooper seemed to notice something above them. "What's that?" An object streaked through the sky, leaving a blazing trail in its wake.

"Huh, I have no idea," Easter mused, though something niggled at the back of his mind. "It doesn't look like an ordinary shooting star. Might as well make a wish anyway, though." He closed his eyes, Jirachi of the wishing star, please grant my wish. I wish to be strong. Still, his chest felt hollow. Strength, it was all he ever wanted. All he ever worked for. But there was no point relying on somebody else to achieve the strength he wished for. No, he would achieve that with his own two hands. Never mind. I have nothing I would wish for, except maybe sweets. Yes. Eternal sweets. Grant me a lifetime's supply of sweets, Jirachi. He started to drool at that.

Outskirts of Fryst Team Showdown

She started to feel numb from the chilling waters that seemed to imprison her. She could feel herself sinking further and her grasp on consciousness loosen, barely understanding the distorted noise from above. However, as she closed her eyes she felt something grab her claw. Before she knew it, she felt a rush of cold air slam on her face; feeling as painful on her numbed skin as when she entered the cold prison. She let out a gasp of air as her head broke out of the water with eyes full of fear, only to be greeted by a certain Chandelure. She couldn't quite make out what he had said, but judging from his facial expression it was clear that he was struggling to lift her out of the water - more than likely due to her weight. She attempted to lift herself up from this position but found her other arm to simply be too numb to be of any assistance. Then she thought about asking for help from the others, but all she could let out was a rather weak cough.

It was then that Scarlet felt the icy cold water splash against her face just when she was getting used to the air around her. Before she knew it the water that had just moments ago nearly finished her off were rising from their position and heading towards the surface. She could also barely feel what felt like someone lifting her. The duo had landed on the surface safely, and Scarlet turned up to her fishy friend. Her hearing was still a bit off from the shock and the cold, so she wasn't able to hear her well. However, she almost immediately threw her arms around Taiga, whom would feel Scarlet's body shivering violently. "T-T-Thank y-you..." It would be hard to tell for Taiga, as Scarlet was exceptionally wet, but tears were rolling down her face. She got up and started limping towards Cabrakan before  basically dropping herself onto him, her arms held around him in a hug. "Y-Y-You to-o..." He, too, would feel the girl shivering violently. She eventually let go of him as well, although she stood near Cabrakan with her arms around herself. It was very apparent that she was trying to warm herself up by standing near the fire-type.

Location: Ditto Village (Team Mac, Day 10)

Poke: 350

Inventory: Poke Puff Bag (empty), Berry Case (contains 5x Spelon Berries)

Mac had signaled that the Dittos should hang out and play with the other members of the group while they still had the chance, and Kah, Ari, and Kazo found themselves swarmed by the gelatinous whelps. Kah, for one, had simply resigned to her fate in this case. While it may have sounded unlike her, the circumstances made it perfectly normal for her. They'd keep going even if she told them not to, and she couldn't very well harm them. Besides, they'd quite generously fed the group, and free food was always something Kah could appreciate.

Not much later, the group - now with Suiten in tow - had arrived at a rather large lake. Kah had to admit, it was scenic in a way Skuldafn could never provide. One of those "colors of the world" her mother used to talk about, perhaps? Whatever it was...it was nice. Tranquil. This was a lake Kah wouldn't mind hanging around for a little while longer.

"I love this lake. In all my travels, never have I come across a better one."

"It's so big. Bigger than the hole in Mac's stomach."

"It's definitely something worth remembering," Kah added. Nothing more; just that this sight wasn't one she'd like to forget.

Location: The tundra (Team Neo Not Dark, Day 10)

Poke: 700

Inventory: Dusk Stone, Moo Moo Milk

Whatever was going on, it wasn't natural. As the group of Fawkes, Dora, Brooke, and now Easter as well, made their way through the freezing tundra, a sandstorm had whipped up. The problem being that there was no sand to be found here just earlier; only snow that crunched under a thick pair of boots Fawkes had retrieved from the supplies gifted to the group before departing from Deku. It was still taking some getting used to that people in Deku were suddenly so selfless, and it hadn't quite fully settled in Fawkes's head. It wasn't really a problem since she wouldn't be seeing the town again anytime soon, but it bothered her regardless.

This sandstorm, however, was very much a problem. The hood of Fawkes's parka had been pulled up, and in a manner similar to Easter, the scarf wrapped around her neck had been pulled up and held tightly to her face, to keep sand out. That wasn't all either. The roaring wind was - for somebody as tiny as Fawkes - a problem in and of itself. Hers was not a body with considerable weight, and the harsh winds of the sandstorm were constantly pushing and shoving her around. Staying on her feet and near her group was a difficulty of its own, or it would have been if she hadn't been holding Brooke's hand tightly. Soon, however, the sandstorm finally died out. Fawkes took a deep breath or two before catching up to Easter and Dora.

"What's that?" Dora had asked, looking up at the sky above them. With all the sand gone, Fawkes could see something moving in the sky, leaving a trail behind it.

"Huh, I have no idea. It doesn't look like an ordinary shooting star. Might as well make a wish anyway, though."

A wish, huh? Fawkes looked at the mystery object, thinking about what she could wish for. Money? No, that was too obvious. She could have wished for a fruitful adventure on the way to and in Fryst, but that didn't sound like it would suffice either. If her recent time in Deku was any indicator, the road ahead would not be a boring one. Only one thing could come to mind at this point. Shutting her eyes, Fawkes made her wish.

I wish for the four of us to stay safe. That's not too much, right?

Now then, Dora was still on the ground. Reaching down and beginning to pull the Wooper up (not an easy task for Fawkes, given the weight difference), the Zorua asked "We should be at Fryst in the next couple of days, right?"

Kazo shook his head as Mac walked off, and they were left with Dittos that were... Creative with their powers to transform. One turned into him, which, hey, that was normal. One was a taller Ari, and another was a... Larger chested Kah. Not this time. Kazo was not making a remark about that.

Soon Mac and Suiten returned, and the Ditto piled on them, trying to keep them from leaving. blinked as he was piled on by a bunch of Dittos. Well, they were a clingy sort, weren't they? Still, they were really cute, and no more than little kids. He just sat there, and soon, the Dittos let them go. Honestly, they were pretty cute, but Kazo felt like he should keep going... He had to prove his worth to everyone...

After some time, they came across a lake. Something about it was just... So beautiful. He couldn't explain it. Heck, it almost made him want to sing... Something he normally didn't like to do around people.

"I love this lake. In all my travels, never have I come across a better one." Suiten said in a tone that seemed both happy and sad.

"It's so big. Bigger than the hole in Mac's stomach." Ari quipped.

"It's definitely something worth remembering," Kah added.

"Man, this is how I imagine how a lake looks when Suicune purifies it...," Kazo added. He heard stories of how Suicune runs around, dashing on lakes and cleansing them. Would this be what it looked like?

Denku returned to a scene of chaos. James was dead... What a shame... While Richard was leaving the room in an attempt to fight off the rest of James's forces. Why where they still fighting? James was dead. Was Richard that despicable in their eyes? He shook his head. Now was not the time to ponder it.

Instead, what he saw was Fia leaving with two people he had never seen before. So, was that it? For all her talks of family, and caring for them, she was abandoning them for people that followed her every whim and idea? He should have known. He should have felt a sharp pang of betrayal... But all he felt was the dull sensation, similar to pain, but it was more of his own body telling him that he shouldn't have trusted her.

Denku turned to head back to the room where Bea was. He wasn't having this. He was angry. He would follow just to spite Fia.... However... The smallest part of his mind that was calmer than the rest told him there had to be a reason. There had to be....

When he came back to the room, he managed to place Bea on his back, using his cloak to tie her to him. His legs nearly gave out as he tried to stand. He was so exhausted... He body was screaming for rest, but his mind said no, he had to keep going. With nothing but determination to carry him on, he ran back to where he saw Fia leave, doing his best to track and follow them. He would get to the bottom of this.

Team Karaoke, Adarid City. Day 9

"Excuse me, you're being somewhat of a nuisance. There are people trying to leave, so could you kindly step aside?"

"I would rather not kill you. If you die while trying to pass on an unjustified wrath to us, I think dying as meaninglessly as that would be quite a disservice to your nephew.”

"Please, let us out..."

"And do you really think it's worth wasting that man power on a group of stragglers when Sal's and you are finally having that big showdown of yours."

Gwen looked at the group, including a strange new person, all trying to convince the Nidoking to let them through. And she felt ashamed of herself. She had tried to force her way through without even attempting diplomacy. How could she do such a thing? Set such a bad example.

She watched for Al's reaction. The man seemed to have paused and listened to what they had said. Maybe they would make it through to him?
"Y'all don't know sheet, do you?" He said. "This little distraction ain't mean jack to me and my crew. We can steamroll you and still have more than enough to pluck that bird brain from the sky." He shrugged. "Guess you want this to be messy, fine by me." He stomped his foot on the ground and immediately there was a trembling.

Around the group, emerging from the ground, came a dozen different Ground Type Gijinka. Arraigned in a semi-circle around their back.

Al dug his feet into the ground and took a deep breath, looking at the prone Lok. A beam of ice emerged from his mouth and struck the boy, with enough force to knock him over. Gwen floated towards him and picked the boy off the ground.

Fiona growled and shot out Pin Missles at Al, who knocked the offending projectiles away with a swipe of his arm.

Gwen looked around at the Ground types surrounding them. They weren't nearly as strong as the Godslayer, or probably Al himself, but there were many of them. "Excuse me." She said towards the newcomer, the Aggron. "I don't know who you are but, my name's Gwen...could you help us get away?"

Gwen's eyes went to the guard station nearby. If they could reach that they would be far enough to make a break for the gate, or head to the raised walkway a dozen feet above them. She could only hope their pursuers wouldn't follow them if they managed to get some distance. She started in that direction, but paused, not wanting to clue Al in. Hopefully the group would notice where she had started heading and catch on.

Team Showdown, Outskirts of Fryst. Day 11

Isole watched as the two quickly worked together to get Scarlet out of the water. She hadn't known what to do herself, given her lack of upper body strength, but now she realized there was something she could do. The ground beneath them, beneath the others that is due to Isole's levitation, was beginning to crack and crumble. She aimed a blizzard at the ice, weakening the force so that it merely coated the cracks with some of her own ice. It wouldn't hold for long but they hopefully wouldn't need long.

"Let's go." She said glumly and rushed away, towards the gates. If the others hesitated it was likely they'd fall right into the water once more.

At the gates the Avalugg guards stood upright as they approached, telling them to halt and explain their business in Fryst. Cabrakan, upon explaining he's from there, and presenting proof of this, was allowed in. One of the Avalugg opened a, much smaller, door that was carved into the gate itself, to grant him access.

If the others tried to follow they'd be stopped, and asked once more to explain their business there.

Team Sexual Tension, Mysterious Grove. Day 9 (Night)

Richard merely nodded towards Fia and Whisper, seemingly too focused on his task at hand to do more than that. He had to leave it to them. The Pyroar King chewed on some rather bitter herbs as he entered the battlefield. His soldiers were vastly outnumbered but the sight of their king seemed to spur them on, and caused many of the traitors to waver. However the many Mightyena were still chomping at the bit and ready to fight. It would be a tough battle.

Rafiq would speak to the two on their way, oddly cheerful. "Oho, this is all exciting, the Bringer of Life hasn't had a guest in a long time...of course last time their guest wasn't trying to kill them, oho...that isn't funny, is it? Oho..."

He led them throughout the rest of the day and, once night fell, they came across what seemed to be a large grove of trees. These trees were glowing with some kind of pinkish aura and, as they approached, they would notice that the trees were packed tight together.

Rafiq told them to stand back and began to chant in the strange language of Pride Rock. Once his chanting finished they trees would open up.

Stepping into the grove the first thing they'd notice is the young girl who was laying against a tree that seemed to have been snapped in two by some extreme force.

The Nameless Whimsicott man rushed to her side and knelt by her. She stirred and looked up at him, then the others, before glancing over down the path. "He was...so strong. He's fighting now..." before passing out.

Rafiq was by their side a moment later. "Go, now, to the Bringer of Life, I will stay with your sister."

Nameless stood, not bothering to motion for the other two, and ran quickly down the path.

Were they to follow him they would soon overhear the telltale sounds of battle up ahead, at the end of the path.

They'd emerge in a large clearing, filled with flowers, with the moon shining brightly into the area. A small pond was off to one side, and some sort of stone fountain kept the pond's water stirring.

However the more prominent sight were the two Gijinka battling.

One was Jabari, but the other was a six-foot tall, elegant, Gijinka brimming with power. This being was clear to any who set gaze upon them. Xerneas.

They stood between two tall wooden structures that were topped with what resembled deer statues. However one of the structures was broken, and smoking, the other had some kind of energy surrounding it.

As they entered the clearing Jabari was rushing Xerneas. Some sort of electrical energy surrounding him as he continued trashing at them. His fist connected with the legend and sent them sliding towards the trees. It was obvious they had been fighting for some time, but Jabari seemed to not be wounded much at all.

Team Mac, Crystal Lake. Day 10 (Evening)

"Man, this is how I imagine how a lake looks when Suicune purifies it...,"

Mac had been staring at the lake, in awe, ever since they first saw it. She had never seen such a large body of water, having lived her whole life in a desert. She was shocked by how clean and...big it was. At Kazo's words her ears perked up. "So you've heard of that? Yeah, Suicune apparently love to stick around water and keep it clean. It's cool...not as cool as Raikou though." She added. She tilted her head and stepped closer. "Wonder if Suicune was around here at all...Do you have any idea...Suiten?" Mac said, stumbling over her words as she addressed the man.

"It's so big. Bigger than the hole in Mac's stomach."

Mac rounded on the boy. "Hey...shut up." She said, unable to come up with a proper come back. She debated kicking Ari into the lake. It'd be so easy, he was so little...

Then she felt a large droplet of water hit her face.

Suddenly a downpour, the likes of which she'd never experienced before, crashed upon them. The rain seemed to come from out of nowhere and was of such intensity that Mac found herself almost forced to her knees by the weight. She had no idea of where it came from but a realization struck her suddenly and she looked back towards the lake.

The water was starting to overflow. Even now the water level had risen past the ground. The lake would begin to flood within moments, and the group was at risk of being swept up in it.

Team Neo Not Dark, outside the tundra. Day 10

Dora stared, opened mouthed, at Easter for a moment. A shooting star? Whooaaaaaaah! She looked back to the star so fast that she almost hurt herself. "Uh wish wish what do i wish for what do I wish for umm...hehe that cloud looks like a fish...what was I doing...Right, wish! I wish...to...to...meet another cool new friend!" She said this wish outloud, though she didn't seem to realize that.

As they watched the falling star anyone with decent observation skills would notice that it seemed to be getting closer, and closer...Eventually it seemed to crash land, and there was a slight tremor that reached them a couple minutes later.

Given the angle it would be safe to assume that it had landed about a days travel south from them. If they were to follow its path they'd need to step into the tundra and off the road for a brief time, though judging from how Dora was jumping and pointing with her head, it seemed clear she was excited to go that way.

"Can we check it out? Can we can we can we? Oh but maybe we should go to Fryst as soon as we can. I've never seen Fryst. Well. Maybe I have! But I've never seen it a SECOND time..."

Ari watched the old blue man watch the lake some more, before he turned away. What a strange old man... he thought.

"It's definitely something worth remembering," Kah said.

"Man, this is how I imagine how a lake looks when Suicune purifies it..."

"Suicune? What's that?" Ari tipped his head. "Wait, that sounds familiar..." Ah! Entei's sibling! Entei was the great fire lion. The one that he wanted to eventually defeat.

"So you've heard of that? Yeah, Suicune apparently love to stick around water and keep it clean. It's cool...not as cool as Raikou though." Mac said.

"Whoa wait! you mean not as cool as Entei!" Ari puffed up. "Entei is totally the coolest of the three!"

"Wonder if Suicune was around here at all...Do you have any idea...Suiten?"

The blue man thought for a second. "Hmm. No, I have no idea," he didn't sound too eager to talk more about that.

When Ari compared the lake to Mac's stomach, the yellow girl turned around and the Litleo prepared himself for an ear-splitting screech. Instead what he got was a, "Hey...shut up." She did stare at him a bit too long after that, though, which made him a bit nervous. Because that stare wasn't a "Wow, you're so cool" stare like his friend Tiana made. No, it was a "How far can I kick you?" stare. He would know, because he had made that stare to Zago many times before.

And then it started to rain. And...ouch. The rain hurt. A lot. Ari didn't like the rain. It probably had to do with him being a fire type, but rain made him feel uncomfortable and weak, like that one time he was down with a cold. His dad actually set aside that whole day to sit by his bedside, and his mom was even clingier than usual. But this time, he didn't have his parents with him. Instead, he was with his friends and an old man. And one of them wanted to kick him.

"Uhh...is there anywhere we can get out of the rain?" he asked, glancing down at the rising tide. "We need to get out of here."

Suiten stopped suddenly, staring straight up at the sky. "Strange..." he murmured. "This doesn't seem like any ordinary rainstorm." His brows furrowed. "What's going on up there?"

Meanwhile, the Litleo was trying his best to walk without slipping, tail puffed straight out. I'm brave I'm brave I'm brave I'm brave, he chanted like a mantra in his mind. His attention was razor-focused on the water lapping around his legs. It tugged at them, and that, coupled with the raindrops falling from the sky, wore away at his strength. "I-I'm slipping," he squeaked. And then there was a splash, and the cub was gone.

"Uh wish wish what do i wish for what do I wish for umm...hehe that cloud looks like a fish...what was I doing...Right, wish! I wish...to...to...meet another cool new friend!" Dora chattered.

Easter chuckled. "You're not supposed to say the wish out loud," he patted the Wooper's head. "It's a good wish, but next time keep it to yourself."

And then Fawkes bent down to pick the girl from the ground. "We should be at Fryst in the next couple of days, right?"

"I'm afraid not," the Sylveon replied, tone soft. "From what I remember, it'll take almost a week to get there. But fret not, we have supplies, and one of us is a fire type," he nodded at Brooke. "If things get tricky, we can always rely on her."

They sat there and watched the falling star for a bit. Easter started to panic when he noticed it seemed to head for them...or near them, anyway. And then it fell below the horizon, and a shockwave reached the group. Steadying himself, the Sylveon shook his head. It really fell...

Dora started to jump about. "Can we check it out? Can we can we can we? Oh but maybe we should go to Fryst as soon as we can. I've never seen Fryst. Well. Maybe I have! But I've never seen it a SECOND time..."

"Well, it shouldn't take us too out of our way," Easter reasoned to himself. "Fryst is southwest after all. Still, it could be dangerous." Normally he wouldn't hesitate to investigate it, but he had the children to consider as well. Then again, he was fairly confident of his skills, and by the look of the Emboar, she wasn't too shabby either. Between the two of them, they'd be able to take on most threats. Also. He needed his sweets. And if that was a real wishing star, then a day's distance away, lay a smorgasbord of sweets. "I think we should go investigate," he declared.

[spoiler=OOC]

I kept forgetting to do this, but I finally made an app for Suiten.

"Understood," Clotilde replied to the ghost girl's request. While negotiations with the Nidoking failed, it was expected. "Until these brutes fall and we all escape, let us collaborate. I am Clotilde and I suggest the rest of you jump. As high as you can."

Saying that, she took a step back towards what was effectively the center of the semi-circle formed by the twelve or so minions, she didn't care to count when those numbers would fall very soon. She raised her feet high in the air, and brought it smashing to the ground.

What sounded however, was much louder than a single footstep. It was as if she mirrored the Nidoking's earlier actions, but instead of summoning her own minions the tremor simply continued and the ground rumbled violently. Inside her head she wished for the earthquake to repeat again, almost immediately after the first one had began. Obeying her mental command, the tremor doubled in intensity.

Things were going about as well as Nine expected them to. Al did not seem to be in a talk mood when they first had stumbled upon him, and having already been injured, it was pretty apparent that the man wasn't going to budge an inch right now. And his way of proving this was with an ice beam directed straight at the poor kid who tried to talk his way out. Kid was an exceptionally good at getting himself picked on by bigger people then him at point blank range, that was for sure. However, as the ground erupted and a large squad of ground types had appeared before them, Nine couldn't help but click his tongue at the darker growing situation. Thankfully, amidst all of this, they had seemingly managed to gain the aggron that had started the talk fad to join with them against this army. As she moved towards the newly unveiled ground types, and told everyone to jump, Nine quickly grasped the situation at hand. However, that single attack was likely not able to bring down all of them at once, and thus would likely find herself in a shitty situation almost immediately afterward. Yelling out to one of his party members, he shouted, "out of the way, kid." Yelling to the rotom, to, at the very least try and keep his head in the game here.

Regardless, with the attack coming, Nine started to take off, towards the nidoking himself. Glancing back, he saw that the girl was already in the air, and so in order to not get himself killed, Nine jumped towards the man himself. While in the air, the houndoom, had flames spurt from his palms. Empowered by the prep he had done before talking to the man, Nine let loose a stream of flames from his hands. While he had looked all ready to attack the Nidoking, the flames had landed to the side of Al and striking with such force to attempt to create a large dust cloud explosion and distract him long enough. As the houndoom's attack ended, he landed on the shaking ground, finding it hard to move forward. While he was able to keep moving forward towards Gwendoline, it started out as a stumble, with each step bringing him a shock of pain and causing him to let out small swears here and there, as his face was clearly pained and he seemed to spit out a small amount of blood as the earthquake subsided. Nevertheless, he was doing his best to get on the fast track out of here.

As the group looked at the lake before them, a large drop of water hit Kah. Was it going to rain?  As she'd find out not long afterwards, yes. It was indeed going to rain. Hard. Very hard. A violent downpour the likes of which Kah had never seen before besieged the lot gathered up at the lake, flooding said lake and pressing down on the group with the sheer force of the rainfall. Simply staying straight and on her feet was becoming a challenge in its own right once the water began lapping up around Kah's feet. However, she was a proud dragon of Skuldafn! A damn strong one too! She wouldn't let a little bit of rain beat her so easily!

"I-I'm slipping." And then a splash. Apparently, Ari would let a little bit of rain beat him so easily. Kah turned around quickly at the sound of the splash, looking around in the water for the Litleo gone missing. Kah ran and waded around in search for Ari; she didn't want him getting too far, and this kind of situation would be even tougher on him than on the other members of the group. The rain didn't sting in any way for Kah as it may have for others, but damn if it wasn't a pain in the ass anyway. "The rest of you get to higher ground!" Kah called back to the group. "I've got some fishing to do!" And off she went, continuing her search, gripping at anything under the water she thought may have been Ari. Most of the time it was just a funny-shaped rock, otherwise she'd find some other inconsequential garbage that wasn't Ari.

"Uh wish wish what do i wish for what do I wish for umm...hehe that cloud looks like a fish...what was I doing...Right, wish! I wish...to...to...meet another cool new friend!"

Well, Dora certainly knew what she was wishing for. Easter was talking about how you weren't supposed to say the wish out loud and that Fryst wasn't as close as Fawkes thought it was, but that they had supplies and Brooke if things went bad. There was also a tremor not long after the mystery thing vanished over the horizon; it must have hit the ground somewhere nearby. However, all of that was flushed out of Fawkes's mind when Dora presented a question to the group.

"Can we check it out? Can we can we can we? Oh but maybe we should go to Fryst as soon as we can. I've never seen Fryst. Well. Maybe I have! But I've never seen it a SECOND time..."

"Well, it shouldn't take us too out of our way. Fryst is southwest after all. Still, it could be dangerous."

Yes. It would be very dangerous. Fawkes was against the idea of checking it out based on that fact. Don't say we should go, don't say we should go, don't--

"I think we should go investigate."

"W-W-Wait, you just said it would be dangerous!" Fawkes interjected. "Besides, it fell out of the sky! Whatever that thing is, it can't be good news if that happened, right? We've already dealt with lots of danger getting out of Deku, so maybe we should just leave it alone and hope it doesn't come looking for us." That was Fawkes's stance on the matter. Of course, she wasn't exactly in a position to take off on her own if everybody opted to go check it out instead. She wouldn't last very long out here on her own; she knew that, and wasn't very pleased with it. For safety or danger, she was stuck with this group.

There were definitely worse people to be with out here, but Fawkes wanted to reach Fryst as soon as possible. Fawkes wasn't the smartest of folks, but she knew a thing or two. Fryst was the closest city to Mount Icecrown, and she still hadn't forgotten just who was headed there a few days ago. Nor had she forgotten who had dropped her off with Brooke in the first place to go chase them down. In an attempt to use it as an excuse to make a selling point for Fryst, Fawkes added "Besides, there's this huge mountain not far from Fryst. I've always wanted to get a look at it myself."

"It's a shame...at least on the bright side, you'll be reunited with your beloved nephew soon."

The attempt of negotiation fell apart as the Nidoking decided that it was having none of it and started to lash out. Alleria could only sigh at that sight, after throwing some looks at Fiona and the others to make sure they're alright. Granted, she was not really trying to negotiate earlier. It was really more a threat rather than anything, and as much as she felt like putting a show here in attempt to calm the situation, something inside her made her decide that it would only just be a waste of time. The Nidoking slammed its foot on the ground, and immediately, there were a trembling that Alleria failed to notice for a bit as she was floating several centimeters above the ground, but the emerging ground-types immediately took her attention. And then, when Nidoking attacked Lok with an Ice Beam, she started to panic a bit and tried to reach him, but Gwen got to him first.

There were too many enemies here, Alleria thought.

She's aware that Lok couldn't afford to fight amidst these gangsters, and with her being a part of the reason why the group ended up in this mess in the first place also did make Alleria feel some remorse. Trying her best to dodge the upcoming attacks from the ground-types, she rushed towards Gwen and Lok, who were now attempting to talk at the Aggron maid of earlier. The Aggron used Earthquake moments before she reached her, but as Alleria floated above the ground, she managed to avoid getting the brunt of the attack.

"Hey...uh...yeah you. You're with us, right?

Uh...I'm really worried about the boy...so can you escort the Mismargius and the boy towards the guard post while the rest of us try holding them off before catching up?

Thanks for listening."

Whether the maid would comply to her words or not, Alleria had decided on what would she do now. Perhaps it would be a waste of time attempting to reach the closed-off heart of the Nidoking with her voice, but perhaps she could at least delay things with it. And thus, Alleria prepared herself for another concert.

"Alright, this might be a bit sudden, but everybody, welcome to the encore of my concert today!

Raise your hands up into the air, because now I shall show you my true entertainment!"

First of all, that was what she needed to inform her allies that she was going to sing. It would be doubtful that the Nidoking and his gang would be aware on what she would do next. Once her message had been said, Alleria opened her show with a series of Dazzling Gleams falling from the skies above, bathing the area with a blinding light. It was not the supposed use for the move, but desperate times call for desperate measures. It was almost like she used Flash, but not quite.

"Lights, on!

The curtain has been raised, this is my show now!

Let's see your best smile, everyone!"

With the preparations done, it was Alleria's cue to start Singing.

Looking at the heavens above, she hoped that her parents would be proud about what she's doing now.

"So that is Xerneas...looks quite pretty."

Looking at how Jabari managed to knock him...her...they? over while not sustaining much injuries, Fia started to think that either Jabari was devilishly powerful, or that Xerneas was hopelessly out of the game. Nevermind that however, with her and the dark-type reaching this place, there's nothing left to do but to stand between Jabari and Xerneas. She noticed the two deer statues on top of the pillars on the arena, and without thinking over it more, she aimed her staff there, and used String Shot to get on the one that had been broken, as the other one was covered in some form of energy right now.

"I don't know what kind of goal do you seek with your intent on vanquishing the Bringer of Life, however, I cannot allow for such thing to happen.

Powerful as you are....I won't let you kill Xerneas. Sorry for this."

Facing the Zebstrika, Fia aimed her staff at him, and fired several ghastly fireballs towards him. While those were small, they're meant to burn directly into Jabari's soul, and if just one of them hits, it would give her and the rest of them quite the advantage over him. She couldn't do much else for now however, as she'd need to wait for the Order assassin to start acting in this battle before she could conjure a proper plan.

"For the wishes of the Flames of Rebirth, I will not yield against you."
