"If...if you're going to Fryst could you...t-try and get my dad back? H-he's our only doctor and...well I miss him. Um. I'll give you a reward I promise!"

"Sure, we'll keep an eye for your father."

"Tch..." Taiga grunted.  This kid had the gall to spy on them, and attack them, and now he was begging for a favor.  Taiga shrugged, as Scarlet agreed to the proposition.  She couldn't really deny the proposal, thanks to Scarlet holding her so tightly.  So now they were on the lookout for a...male...Delcatty on their way to Fryst.  "Just another thing we gotta do for some loser who's to lazy to do it for themselves.  First a pie, now a dad."  It almost made her not want to do it.  After all, she never knew her own father.

After the whole ordeal, Taiga and Scarlet fell asleep.

When she woke up, the customary pillow in her mouth was spat out, and Scarlet faced her with a dreamy face.  Taiga's pale blue face shot to a bright red.  She let go of her tight grip around the gijinka she slept next to.

"J-j-j-just don't go about getting any ideas!  It was cold!"  Before she could spill anymore tsun nonsense, Scarlet spoke with a concerned tone.

"Hey, do you think the others are ok? We should probably go looking for them..."

Taiga bit her lip, trying to remember who the others were exactly.  Oh right...

"You mean hot head and cold shoulder?  I'd imagine the both of 'em would do alright in a town like this."  Scarlet sounded worried, but Taiga couldn't care less about the two.  Although, Isole was with Cabrakan...alone.  That wouldn't be good for anyone.  "I guess we should save that rotom from the clutches of that flaming geezer."  Taiga stretched herself out, and jumped out of bed.  "Let's get a move on then!"

The Slums Team Karaoke

Lok headed outside of the shack and was greeted by the sight of his allies - Gwen and Alleria were outside, talking. They seem to be well, which made Lok very happy. Tears rolled down his face as he rushed towards the group, tossing himself onto Gwen and holding her in a hug. "I thought you ...and I was...we...we...and..." He started to ramble, sobbing loudly in between words, he turned to Alleria, whom he also tossed himself onto. "I shouldn't of...I'm sorry...I won't be reckless again!" He was still sobbing loudly before letting go of the Altaria girl. It was then that he noticed the third person that was standing there. He started to inch away from Fiona, hiding behind Alleria. "W-Wha..." Immediately, he grasps where the Drapion girl had hit him during their fight. It didn't really hurt that much anymore; in fact, he seemed to be mostly fine, but he was still clutching it hard. Before he could question why she was even here, Gwen started explaining to Alleria what had happened, which seemed odd to Lok. Wasn't she there with them. Either way, it had seemed that Gwen, while explaining, had purposely left out the part about Fiona betraying them. Lok was going to interject about Fiona, but Gwen gave him a stern look. The message was pretty clear, and Lok kept quiet.

"H-hey so..." Lok nearly jumped as he turned to his right. Somehow, Fiona had gotten next to him without him noticing her. She seemed...different. She wasn't as shy as when they first met her, and she wasn't as, well...terrifying...as she was when they fought. "...t-that was just...please don't hate me." She seemed to have troubles saying whatever it is that she wanted to tell Lok, as she almost immediately buried her face into her hands, muttering something that Lok didn't quite catch. He was in a strange situation. On one hand, she did seem to be regretful about what she did, not to mention it seemed like Gwen placed her trust on her. On the other hand, she had deceived them with a shy persona before. Not to mention that Lok was still very scared of her. Again, Lok grasped his side before placing his free hand on her shoulder. "Look, Fiona..." He tried his best to sound confident, but his voice was still shaking in fear. "...uh...I dont...how do I..." He fumbled his words, as he stood there. Sweat was dripping from his forehead as memories from the last night seemed to flash before him. He let out a sigh, before taking in a deep breath. "I'm not...100% sure why Gwen trusts you, and stuff. But...uh...I don't hate you, I guess is what...I'm trying to...say..." He gave her a weak smile, still obviously terrified and slightly blushing. He withdrew his hand quickly from her, looking away from her. "I'm just really...scared...of..." He said this as he subconsciously grasped where she had hit him with the Knock Off. "Just...I don't hate you, alright?"

"So...from what I know we have a bit of a problem. That Nidoking probably will be looking for us once we leave, and the Honchkrow as well. If we want to deal with them we'll have to decide now. Otherwise we might have to try and sneak out of the city. I...am not sure what we should do it's all been so much more...violent than I expected. So I guess what I'm asking is...what do you want to do?" Oh right. He had completely forgotten about the Nidoking and the Honchkrow. Honestly, Lok wanted to get out of this city as fast as he could. However, he decided not to answer, as he looked at the ground. His track record of making decisions...well, let's just say that it wasn't a very good record.

Coldharbour Team Showdown

"You mean hot head and cold shoulder?  I'd imagine the both of 'em would do alright in a town like this. I guess we should save that rotom from the clutches of that flaming geezer."  Taiga stretched herself out, and jumped out of bed.  "Let's get a move on then!" Scarlet also got up, finally being able to properly stretch herself. She went into the room and packed her stuff up, making sure not to forget the pies.

"Any ideas as to where they could be?" She asked while the duo walked out of the inn. While she was asking this outloud for Taiga, it was moreso a question to herself. She was trying her hardest to remember which way Isole and Cabrakan had gone. "I guess we should go asking the townfolk if they have seen them. It's not like this is a big town or anything." She let out a shrug before leaning in on Taiga and whispering to her ear, making sure that no one could hear her. "Plus, maybe we'll get more information on those pirates and why they had that rod to begin with." She had a bad feeling about them ever since the crew told them about the rod. She gave Taiga a quick wink before beginning her quest of asking the townfolk about their missing companions. Maybe if they were lucky the two would be together, making it easier to find them.

Team Sexual Tension
Pride Rock

Things were all going wrong. Beatrice's desperate plea for Jabari to do the right thing only served to confuse him instead, and to make things worse, Denku had turned against her appeal as well, having blown it out of the water completely with a few choice words of his own.

"Bea, are you so blinded by your hatred of Dark Types that you're intentionally ignoring what's going on?! James brought them here, promised them more land! You think he has the best interests of everyone in mind? They will hurt people, Bea, and so will James!"

"I'm not ignoring anything! You're the one intent-...!" Beatrice stopped, suddenly reaching an epiphany... or rather, what she thought was one, "Fia got to you, didn't she? They... those aren't even your own words! That's more what Fia would say!"

She turned away from Denku and pouted, as she would. After all this was just another innocent disagreement, or so it began. But then...

"You're willing to kill Fia, someone, while making mistakes and letting this go to her head, also helped you escape that hellhole Deku. You're just going to toss that all aside? Fine. If you want to side with them so badly... then you are now my enemy as well, Beatrice."

Beatrice's eyes widened as she was struggling to process all this, and the color had completely drained from her skin. She stood frozen in place, the only sign of movement being more tears burning a path down her face. Her lips dried up, and her head continued to pound. This was't the first time Beatrice had been betrayed. Far from it. But if she were to turn and try to look Denku in the eye, she'd see an array of rocks lined up to be fired at both herself and Jabari, and then she'd get an immediate feeling that she would be betrayed for the last time.

And so the rocks were launched. Jabari took his half of the rocks pretty well and, despite Beatrice making no attempt to dodge, the vast majority of the other half had missed their mark. However, one rock in particular had slammed into the side of her head and brought her down, and as she fell on her back, another had brought itself down on her chest and seemed to finish her off. After a while though, Beatrice found the strength to push the rock aside before it could crush the rest of her body, and slowly rose to her feet.

"You're... serious... about this... You... really think that... I... want... to kill Fia? I... I...!"she'd been fighting to stay conscious this whole time, but between the concussion that she'd received from Denku's attack and the blood she was coughing up, it was clear that she wouldn't last long.

As he sat there in bed, Nine awaited the response from the legend of knowledge, finding them out to be an, unsurprisingly, analytical gijinka. As they continued talking, Nine couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at the comment about his sex drive, thinking that he had that already pretty well in check. And even if he didn't, he couldn't help his flirtatious nature given who he had constantly found himself in the company of. Nevertheless, while the legend had continued on, it became far more apparent that it seemed somewhat displeased with the life it lead. He could only imagine the stress that came with being a legend, and with someone who constantly wished to learn more, staying in the same place with  the same sights, that boredom and stress could only be worsened. Nevertheless, Nine put a hand reassuringly on the boy's shoulder saying, "eh, I wouldn't worry about having to be with interesting people. I'm sure you've got people plenty interesting enough already in your life."

Nine felt a bit odd, reassuring some legendary being as though it were a young boy, yet couldn't help himself from it regardless. Hoisting himself out of bed, the houndoom gijinka winced in pain for a bit, still feeling incredibly sore from the fight that had transpired the day before. Stretching himself out for a bit, until he felt ready to get to walking he then looked at the legend of knowledge once more. He had been a Chaser, or at least something that aspired to be one, for quite some time now and here he was, in front of a legend. And not just any legend, possibly the one who had the most information for him. As such, Nine then said, "so, Uxie. Sorry for jumping right into this now but, would you mind answering a few questions I have?" The legend seemed up to it, and so Nine continued. "Alright so, have you and the others of your trio always been legends?"

"Uxie, Mespirit, and Azelf were always legends."

With the first reply Nine wondered on it for a bit, raising an eyebrow at the wording of the statement. He wasn't quite sure why Uxie was referring to itself in third person at the moment, but the fact that the lake trio were always legends made sense. After all, they were a trio that were generally associated with Arceus, the progenitor legend, and so them being around forever made sense. He also figured that it meant that the three of them hadn't ever been Chasers, which made some semblance of sense to him. As he continued to think on this more, his eyes went wide for a moment, as if in sudden realization, but clearly if they wanted to share more on it, Uxie probably would have said so, and thus he moved on from that point. "Alright, well you have any idea on where I could find the next closest legend?"

"This city holds many secrets."

Cryptic, as expected. Well, at least had a general idea of where to look. That being, the largest and most complex city of the Adarid region. And given that these three had been living here for Arceus knows how long, it wasn't a stretch to say that whatever else was here had always been here when Nine was as well. Nevertheless, even if he did help save them and even if he had a never ending slew of questions, Nine didn't feel quite right in asking everything that popped to mind. Not only did he not feel like the legend would answer them all anyway, he didn't want to trouble them with anymore that probably came with their job. Not to mention, if he got everything answered with the first meeting, that'd almost cheapen the whole adventure he'd been on to get to this point. And so, there only one thing that Nine felt he needed to find out before he left. "And for when I find them, color me curious on dealing with them. That is to say, how was it that in times long ago, that the Chasers were able to stand on equal footing with the Legends?"

"Because they knew they weren't equals."

Nine raised an eyebrow at the comment, being both surprised and made more curious by it. After a moment more of thinking on it, he let out a soft chuckle as he said, "that so?" As he had truly heard what the legend said, it was an almost obvious fact to him. It was something to keep in mind for when he next met a legend, something to remind himself that just because he had aided in its defeat, he wasn't Godslayer and thus couldn't hope to try and achieve the same things that they had. It surprisingly filled the houndoom with vigor as he now had a genuine smile on his face before saying, "thanks for all the info Uxie. It might not have been what I expected, but it was a pleasure meeting you and your brothers."With that Nine left the room, going on his own way to see that the others who were at the fight were outside as well now.

Walking over to the group, he noticed that all of the battered, bruised and injured people who had been knocked out the day prior all seemed rested and fine. Well that was good, after all, it wouldn't have quite felt like a victory if the three managed to die while he was there. Though, there were two of this group of three that stood out to him the most. The first being the fourth, the one he hadn't seen at all yesterday. He briefly wondered who she was, but she definitely seemed to know them, so he didn't quite care to press that any further. The second was the Altaria. After what he had seen yesterday, the girl was something akin to that of a serene monster. A wolf in sheeps clothing, that even in the act of killing its prey, still pretended to be a sheep. Nine was absolutely appreciative of her assistance in the fight against Godslayer, as he would have definitely been unable to win by himself. Yet the brutal display she had preformed as her last act of violence against the Xatu, it was something that Nine felt went too far and she seemed far too eager and happy while doing it. As such, when he saw her, he was apprehensive, to say the least.

Yet there was something...off, about her. Even beyond the display of cruelty, the girl still had a feeling of calm fury behind her during the fight. The Altaria before him looked like a complete air head, and seemed blissfully unaware of quite anything that happened yesterday. Nevertheless, given that the other two had been unconscious for most of the time he had been fighting and how calm they were around her now, they probably had no clue what she was really like, and so Nine wasn't about to bring it up. After the Mismagius was finished with her explanations of what happened, she then went over what they had to do next. Curious, Nine continued to listen on it, thinking that whatever problem they had with this Nidoking and Honchkrow was probably something very dangerous. The ghost type then looked over to the houndoom, having a slight tint of red cross her face as she apologized for assuming he was apart of their group, only to then introduce herself.

Dispelling any anxiety he had earlier towards them, at least visibly so, Nine simply returned a smile to the young woman. "Think nothing of it. I'm quite honored to even be considered as part of this group, especially one with a rather vivacious ghost like yourself, Gwendoline," punctuating this by giving a gentlemanly bow to her only to then stand right back up.  Looking at everyone else he said,"and it's nice to see the rest of you nice and upright as well. You might not remember me from yesterday but I never introduced myself anyway so it doesn't really matter."Extending out a hand to the ghost type that had greeted him, he kept the friendly smile on his face as he said, "the name's Nine. And given that I only have a message to send to someone and my business left in this city can be seen to whenever, I wouldn't mind tagging along with whatever you're up to for now."

While his words were sincere, the houndoom would be lying if he said there weren't slight ulterior motives behind it. The group had clearly met with Godslayer and the lake trio before he had, which he felt couldn't have been some kind of coincidence. No, these people were probably adept at finding themselves in interesting situations, whether they wanted to or not, and so it would do the traveler good to pair up with them. That and he couldn't, in good conscience, leave them with an Altaria who was quite the heart stopper. So for now, Nine thought it would be fine, maybe even fun, to stop traveling the lonesome road and be a member of this team of misfits.

Kazo yelped in pain as Kah stomped on his foot. Goddamn... He needed to learn how to shut his mouth. Maybe his life would be less of a hell if he did that.

Or not, seeing how Mac tackled some Ditto and they all rolled into some giant blob ball. He shook his head and put his hands on top of his head. What did he do? What did he do to deserve this? He had no idea anymore. He then looked up as some man came out. He looked like some old school Chaser, like he was 200 years from the past. He also kind of looked like he was going to want cheese and wine. The Dittos clinged to him instantly, embarrassing him.

"Hey, get off, you're making me look bad," he muttered before somehow straightening, cheeks a pale pink. "Who are you people and what do you want with this place?" he asked the group.

"Uhh...my name's Ari and I came to eat food!" the Litleo bounced on his toes.

"I'm being held against my will. Help," Kazo muttered under his breath before saying. "I'm getting dragged along for the ride...,"

Denku felt sick to his stomach as he saw Bea. She didn't even try to dodge! She was hit by two rocks, hurting her badly... The way she looked so betrayed and hurt... Even though she was technically betraying them... "You're... serious... about this... You... really think that... I... want... to kill Fia? I... I...!" No, no... This wasn't supposed... She wasn't going to...?

He didn't get to complete his thought as Jabari leapt into the air, bringing down a flame covered foot down on his shoulder. Denku cried out in pain as he was forced into the ground. He growled and clenched his fists, slowly standing back up, though he was trembling due to a combination of rage, pain, and sadness.

"B-Bea," he managed to choke out, tears starting to stream down his cheeks. "I'm sorry... I'm sorry... I don't expect your forgiveness... I-I... James... After what the Mightyena have said... I'm sorry... No matter the circumstance, I should have... Never... Attacked you...," his hands became engulfed in black energy, darker than anything he was able to produce before. It began to slowly creep up his arm, a sense of sorrow and dread nearly screaming from the lingering energy. "I'll end this quickly... We can... Stop all this... Get Fia... And get the hell out of here...,"

More empty words, empty promises. Things he never thought he would give to someone else. He wasn't sure if he'd make it to see tomorrow. All he did know was that he was going to make it through this. He had to make sure Fia and Bea were okay before dying. No more words were spoken as he charged at Jabari, swinging his fist and smashing it into the Zebstrika's chest, the dark energy in his hand exploding into a powerful Dark Pulse. All the while... The black energy kept slowly engulfing his arms...

"...Ah, probably that battle really took a toll on me so I lost my memories again.

Well, at least I still remember you guys!"

As Gwen finished her explanation on what had Alleria missed, Alleria decided to greet Lok and Fiona again, especially as she noticed that Fiona was for some reasons trying to avoid her. Did she accidentally was harmed by her? Maybe she was getting a bit too much into the battle again or something. Waiting for Gwen to continue, Alleria started to approach Fiona, and tapped her shoulders as she smiled.

"Hey...you're fine, right? Listening to what Gwen said regarding what had happened in the battle...I get really worried about your well-being, and Lok's too, but I know he's been traveling for a while already so perhaps he could avoid getting himself too hurt.

If...uh...if I accidentally hit you or something during the battle...uh...sorry for that. I don't know what should I do now since you look gloomy, but maybe we could go check out the Opera Hou-"

Before Alleria could finish her offer however, Gwen had continued with her summary, and it outlined something that managed to ruin her plan before it could even start.

So I guess what I'm asking is...what do you want to do?"

"Well...I...uh...I think from what you said, us getting into trouble with the Nidoking and Honchkrow is my fault...so...well, sorry for that, guys. But, what we should do...

We got no more choice, no? We can't fight them off like this, and it would just cause unnecessary chaos that we wouldn't survive since they're mob bosses that reigns over this city and slums.

Of course, we need to sneak out somehow. But...I don't know how we could even get out of this slum unnoticed..."

However, she was unsure on whether Gwen was listening to her, as now her attention was taken by a Houndoom that had just appeared on the scene, although to be fair this guy was quite hot, Alleria admitted. Perhaps this was the one that helped them take out the Godslayer on that night. Deciding to show him a favor as a form of thanks, Alleria went ahead and greeted him.

"Hey...Nine, was it? Thanks a lot for helping us...I...uh, I don't think any of us would survive if it wasn't for you.

Sorry...I...uh...can't recall anything, but...did you see what I did? I'm still not sure on what exactly happened since Gwen said she was already half-awake by the time you came...so..uh...maybe you can fill the blanks for me...pleaaase?

You're in our group now, so it'll be nice if we get everyone caught up on things so we can communicate easier.

But seriously, thanks a lot. I mean it."

Her voice was still somewhat trailing off despite her attempts on being focused. Perhaps, a part of her head was still stuck in cloud nine, refusing to go down back to her skull.

With his own introductions done, the Altaria had made her way over to Nine. The houndoom was still a bit on the apprehensive side towards her, but kept his calm around her, still having a smile, albeit smaller, on his face as she began talking to him. He couldn't help but raise an eyebrow as the girl seemed to ask for him to recount the events of what happened at last night's fight. Given the tone of her voice and expression across her voice, the girl was quite the liar, or she truly had no recollection of what had happened last night. While the man didn't really think it possible to lose a great deal of memories like that so suddenly and without much warning, he then remembered that Azelf had wanted him to incapacitate the girl so that he and his brothers could do "something," to her. As such, if she genuinely knew nothing of what she did, Nine didn't feel like he should try to make her remember, feeling it would be better if no one knew it happened in the first place.

Nevertheless, he still had to answer the girl's plea. Waving off her compliments he said, "no thanks are necessary for my help, I'm sure a group with a lovely dragon like yourself and Miss Gwendoline on its side would've been fine without my intervention, albeit maybe a bit more bruised. As for what happened, well," he pondered for a bit before thinking of the best way to go about explaining it. "You see, the librarian here in Adarid, I'm sure you knew them, they turned out to be Godslayer."The houndoom paused for a bit as he mentioned her, thinking on it for a moment. Were they the librarian? He couldn't entirely remember when they took over the position of librarian from the previous one, or why in the first place. Wait, previous one? Nine had confused himself for a moment, trying to recall a "previous" librarian, but could only come up with images of the Xatu in his memory. Odd.

Shrugging it off he then said, "anyway, I wasn't there for the start of the fight, as you all seemed well into it when I had finally made my way there, but for whatever reason they seemed intent on killing any who fought it. As such, the resulting fight was a bit...uh, painful." As he was about to explain more of it, he then realized the "tactic" the Altaria used in order to fight the Godslayer, he figured it'd be best to leave it out."So I'll skip all the details of what we did and just tell you that in the end, we won, however the Xatu was hit with, uh, an attack or two that it wasn't quite expecting and fell victim to the injuries they took." Nine wasn't lying. He was almost positive that the attack or two the Altaria did against her, she wasn't expecting at all.

With that out of the way, he quickly tried to change the subject saying,"but never mind that. You all seem to have other issues you need to deal with right now."Nine was fairly curious as to what kind of trouble this group could have gotten into while they were here. "So what kind of business is it that you have with this Nidoking and Honchkrow, I can't imagine it's any bit pleasant given the crowd involved."

Whisper stood there in a daze as she looked over the legend that she and Easter had brought down, barely able to believe that even the two of them had managed to bring down a god. She might have been ecstatic to know that she could win against such a foe even when fighting in a way so foreign to herself, or she might have been terrified to see proof before her that mere mortals could conquer the gods. As it stood though, she was merely exhausted. She was barely standing as is, and the pain in her hands might well have had her weeping if she were more ready to do anything at all. When Easter wished her well and left with Rei, she offered no more than a slight nod of her head. Whether through strength or stubbornness, she managed to hold out until the two Eeveelutions had gotten well out of earshot to collapse to the ground near the legend.

"I burned my hands on your face." That was all she had to say to the legend while they lay there, him healing and her barely conscious at all, on the thoroughly blasted site of their battle. Inevitably the two started laughing at the absurdity of it all, and after that Whisper did not remember much. Most likely because she finally passed into unconsciousness.

When she woke, her burns were bandaged and her pack was filled with enough food and water to get her to the next town when she left. The rest of whatever day it was when she awakened was turned towards Entei teaching her to use Fire Blast, and expressing some amount of distaste towards the way it ultimately came out when she manifested it. Still, he could not deny the power inherent in it any more than he could deny that Whisper showed potential to be an incredibly useful tool in the battle against the Godslayers. In the end the two parted at the days end, perhaps not friends but with a certain amount of respect for one another. Entei mentioned that he had to bring word of recent events to his mother, and Whisper asked him to tell her that she might receive a visit from the Assassin seeking further training in the future.

From the site of their battle, she turned Northwest and made to return to Juyu as it was her only lead on the Godslayer she was hunting. She arrived in time to see the result of his coming, and too late to get any meaningful information as to where he might have gone. In the end, she stayed only long enough to ensure that the town's Watcher was still able to do their duty and then resumed her journey to the Northwest. She had no idea of where he would be going, and so she turned her mind to a different objective. The Order had never been able to achieve a meaningful presence in and around Pride Rock, thanks to its King's insistence on keeping them out. As a result, it would be a significant boon to them when they made their return if they were able to install a Watcher there.

It was simple enough gaining entrance to the place. She did not arrive in her robes or announce herself as a member of the Order, and so they had no reason to suspect that she was anything more than another Chaser tracking one of the many legends that wandered the lands. She was allowed to move about more or less as she wished without concern from the locals, so long as she allowed a guard to keep an eye on her. When a fresh group of Chasers arrived, she elected to avoid them as much as she could simply by keeping out of the way of them and sticking to the shadows.

Of course, that came to an end one night. A commotion reached her there in the room she had been given within Pride Rock proper, coming from the direction of what she had assumed to be the throne room. As she had been unable to sleep yet that night, it was a simple matter for her to ready herself to move...but something stopped her just as she reached the door to her room. If this was what she suspected it to be, then this was an opportunity to promote the Order's presence in the area. Thus, she garbed herself in her official robes, wrapped her scarf about her face so that only her eyes were visible, and darted out into the hallway. Whatever guards were supposed to watch her room were gone, presumably joining in whatever fight was the source of the commotion. So it was that she had ample time to prepare herself. She called out her Blade of True Darkness, splitting it into a pair of wicked scimitars instead of drawing its larger form so as to increase her speed. As she rushed down the hall, quiet as a shadow, she pulled down the front of her scarf just enough to let a stream of that acrid toxin flow forth and thickly coat each of the blades. Enough to potentially make all the difference if she decided to join in on the fight.

Following the sound of conflict revealed that it was coming from a chamber deeper in the mountain, which if she recalled correctly she had been able to see when her wandering about brought her to the back of the room off from Pride Rock's shelf. It took her only a few minutes to confirm this suspicion, and thus come to a spot overlooking the fight below. Thankfully, she remembered to pull her scarf back up to cover her face before she reached a place that she could be seen.

The sight below her brought a smile to her face: a coup. The King's younger brother attempting to overthrow him, and apparently bearing the numerical advantage by a significant margin. James, if she remembered his name correctly, appeared to be the far more cunning of the two. Perhaps the more intelligent leader, and perhaps the more easily convinced to allow The Order to enter the region. Richard, again assuming she recalled hearing the King's name correctly, on the other hand was much stronger than his brother. In fact, there was something reminiscent of Entei in his power. On top of that, given that he was outnumbered, he would likely be appreciative of any assistance he received. Appreciative enough, perhaps, to allow a Watcher to enter his realm. In any case, it was difficult to tell which of the parties were likely to win at such an early stage of the fight, even with the Larvesta on Richard's side offering assistance. To that end, she simply crouched at the edge of the overlook from which she was watching. The hope was that she would remain unnoticed by those below, or that if she was noticed then that one of the two contenders in the fight would call for her assistance. She could then, of course, instruct them in the means of establishing a contract with her for the other's life. That would certainly make things all the more simple. If she was unnoticed, she would instead simply enter on the side of whoever turned out more likely to win.

Fawkes listened intently as Brooke shared the story of the White Fury's...sidekick? She had one of those? Apparently the White Fury had trained this Nook girl, and she got very, very strong. Nook helped the White Fury when she was strong enough...then the latter disappeared. This wasn't really a story with a happy ending, but Fawkes knew plenty of those existed. What followed was a suggestion from Brooke.

“Well, I think it’s about time we headed to bed, don’t you? A bit early, but today has me beat!”

"Yeah," Fawkes agreed. Nearly dying really knocked the wind out of her, and as the adrenaline from earlier began dying down, she felt it, especially now that her excitement from reciting the tale of the White Fury was also gone. Fawkes made for a suitable spot to sleep in, closed her eyes, and let herself drift off to a peaceful sleep. She was too tired to even think about anything else.

DAY 9

Fawkes awoke to the sights of the sky above her, and the ruined Deku off to the side. So yesterday most definitely happened and wasn't some bizzarre nightmare. Of course, with Deku destroyed, there was a lot to think about. The most important question was one that refused to leave Fawkes's train of thought by any means. More importantly, it wasn't one she was able to answer herself. No matter where Fawkes personally wanted to go, there was only one person who had the gravitas among the group to ultimately decide where they would go.

Fawkes nudged the Emboar beside her. Whether she was already awake or not, she hadn't checked. "Hey, Brooke," she asked. "Where are we going now that Deku's gone?"

Poke: 350

Inventory: Poke Puff Bag (empty), Berry Case (empty)

"Sure ya can take a couple, but dunno why you don't wanna just eat em."

"I know somebody who will want these later," Kah half-lied, scooping up a few Spelon Berries and dropping them into her Berry Case. Mac commented about how this kind of good thinking was expected from her top lackey, but Kah didn't think Mac even knew what she was thinking. Kah was about to turn her attention back to the Bluk and Chesto Berries when a voice sounded out.

"What's going on here!?"

Kah turned to face the source of the voice, a handful of Bluk Berries filling her mouth and preventing her from speaking. The blobs seemed to have a fondness for him, as they all ran to him and called out his name...assuming Sweeswee was his name. That was golden. He looked to be about Kah's age, and seemed to be a capable fighter as well, but his name was Sweeswee!?

"Who are you people and what do you want with this place?"

"Uhh...my name's Ari and I came to eat food!"

Ari's answer gave Kah the time to chew and swallow her food before speaking. "My name is Kah, and I came here chasing after a thief. Things are cleared up now, and your friends here gave us some food to make up for it, Sweeswee." Kah had to make an active effort to not snicker aloud upon saying that name. Who even named their kid that!?

Items Gained: Spelon Berry x5

Brooke didn’t sleep well that night. Despite how completely drained she was both physically and mentally, she kept herself up and moving until both Dora and Fawkes had found a place to sleep and drifted off into the land of sweet, sweet dreams. Only after she was sure none of the Gijinka still at the campfire had ill intentions did she lay down to even try, but looking over at the two warily, her mind was filled with worry now that the adrenaline had faded. How was she going to take care of them now? She couldn’t financially support three people without her shop, and it was scary to imagine having to worry about food again. She hadn’t been that desperate since she was kid, before…

She rolled over to look at the stars, pushing away the thought. With all of the lights in Deku dimmed and the noises, always present in such a big city, gone, it was relaxing to just watch them in all their glory. She hadn’t ever seen this kind of view before, each of the countless stars burning bright and refusing to let the darkness all around extinguish them. Why couldn’t she be like one of those stars? Weightless, without worry, with a fire so bright even the darkest of night paled in her presence… If she had that kind of power… If she could be like that… It would be so easy for her to protect them…

d2akEes.png

DAY 9

She woke up some time later, and her first thought was, where did the stars go? It was bright outside, the sun doing its job and rising over the horizon to turn the sky orange and yellow and beautiful. Brooke thought it was strange, in a way; all of them, including her, obsessed over the legendaries, but the true forces of nature weren’t Gijinka. Not a single creature alive was invincible, the last few years had taught her that, but the sun and moon had been there at every moment, rising and falling no matter what. It was comforting to know that, no matter what, at least something was permanent.

"Hey, Brooke," Fawkes asked, catching her attention. Had she been the one to wake her up? "Where are we going now that Deku's gone?"

Brooke looked back toward the horizon, smiling despite herself. “I don’t really know yet, Fawkes. Is there anywhere that you want to go?”

Team Showdown, Coldharbor

The next day Taiga and Scarlet would find that the citizens of the city were extra friendly towards them. Giving them free food samples, and compliments, as well as one particularly happy Greninja woman giving Taiga a necklace that had a bright blue water in it. She described it as "Mystic Water" and Taiga could use it to power up her Water attacks, however every use would use up some of the water and it would only be good for three attacks before running out.

Any confusion about why was cleared up when the Frogadier showed up, calling the merchant mom, and explaining that he had spread around town how they promised to help them get his dad, their doctor, back.

Isole stared at Cabrakan as he went on a long, rambling explanation of the events and his reasoning. After it was finished Isole looked a bit zoned out, shrugged, and said simply "Ok." She thought back to the previous night. "I doubt I can catch that Froslass any time soon. We might as well keep going for now." She looked up at Cabrakan with a blank expression before dragging him off in search of the others, in a single-minded determination.

They eventually found the two, surrounded by smiling salesmen and women, and Isole left Cabrakan to find them. "So, what now?" She said, seemingly oblivious to, or ignoring, the crowd.

Team Mac, Ditto Village

Mac lay on the ground, spread-eagle, catching her breath. She swore her life flashed before her eyes while rolling around like that. So...much....gooey. She shakily stood and shook some slimy stuff off of her that had apparently come off the villagers.

"Who are you people and what do you want with this place?"

Mac stared, open mouthed, as her companions answered the man who had just arrived. She slowly approached him, rolling her eyes at Ari "Really? That makes us sound so lame!" She shook her head and stepped in front of the man.

"So. You're... Oh my gosh so cool! Hi, Hi, I'm Mac! Uhhhh yeah what Kah said, one of these guys took my bag. But now it's worth it cause I got to meet you." Mac was bouncing up and down, clearly knowing this man, likely he was some kind of famous Chaser or battler of some sort.

The Ditto, meanwhile, were still clinging to the man, obviously happy to see him. They shoved berries into his face after realizing he might not have eaten, and seemed to almost be ignoring the rest of the group.

Mac recovered slightly from her shock and gestured at them all. "This is Ari, Kah, and Kazo, my lackeys. See, we're like, tooootally a group of super cool Chasers, and I'm the boss. We just fought Regirock and, well, we lost, but we totally fought him, and oh my gosh I can't believe this."

Team Sexual Tension, Pride Rock

"I'll end this quickly... We can... Stop all this... Get Fia... And get the hell out of here...,"

Jabari had barely had to do anything and two of his foes were already almost spent. This was not an honorable fight, this was a slaughter. He grimaced as he heard the man's words. "You are brave. It is a shame there must be two pointless deaths today." He glanced back, towards Pride Rock. "This will be over soon, I must continue with my duties. Goodbye, Outsiders."

He took the blow to his chest and gasped as the dark energy struck him, forcing him backwards. As he pulled away from Denku's hand there was a clear wound on his chest, with blood leaking from it. Jabari swiped some of it and grunted. At the very least he would be killing a warrior today.

A dim glow surrounded Jabari's limbs, and he counter-attacked. His blows rained quickly, and fiercely, upon Denku, stricking several times with both his fists and legs, in almost a frenzy as he pummeled the Pupitar. So forceful were his blows that, despite Denku's natural resistance to such attacks, they would cause great damage to the man.

Meanwhile Fia's sudden assault on the Pyroar had left him dazed, and he struggled to retaliate with how she rained attacks on him.

“I am Fjanna Vaia Livrais, the daughter of my mother, and the mother of my children. Knights of treachery, come and get me if you dare!”

She seemed to be full of confidence in her abilities, something the Pyroar couldn't help but respect. Regardless the attacks didn't seem to be doing much damage, and the other Pyroar had recovered enough to ram Fia from the side with a Take Down.

The Mightyena, too, seemed to have recovered and rushed her as she was knocked to the side from the Pyroar's attack, their jaws opening as a dark energy crackled along their teeth. Richard was in front of her in a moment, taking a solid and wide stance before roaring. The sound was loud, echoing throughout the cave, and was filled with incredible dignity. The imposing sound caused the Mightyena to pause, and even weakened them evidently.

However Richard leaping to Fia's defense left him open and suddenly James was there, slamming into him with his body covered in intensely crackling electricity. Powered by both the electric terrain and Jame's earlier charging, the attack sent Richard flying backwards into the wall. James laughed as he started moving towards his brother. "Strong as you are, you are nothing here, you can't win this fight brother!" James shouted, spittle flying out of his mouth as he sneered.

Team Karaoke, Adarid Slums

Fiona watched Lok's face go through a whole range of emotions. It was oddly...cute, the way he reacted. Cute? Arceus what was she thinking, she beat the sheet out of this kid the day before. Though she did feel...weaker than she did then. "Ah, well...that's good. Erm...yeah." Fiona looked away, trying to hide the slight smile that had appeared. She had been accepted back, it seemed, just like that. She probably should thank that Gwen at some point...

Gwen noticed Alleria approach Fiona and it almost caused her to panic, before she remembered Alleria had no idea what had happened. She kept watch as Fiona's wide-eyed gaze met Alleria.

Fiona looked everywhere except at Alleria. How should she deal with this? Some of the events of last night was lost to even Fiona but she knew that Alleria had done some...vicious things. Yet here she was, acting like this? "Er...it's...fine?" She said hesitantly, instinctively edging closer to Lok. However she was spared further investigation as Alleria went to answer Gwen.

Gwen nodded, agreeing with Alleria that they had to leave as soon as they could. She didn't know what those people could do but it certainly wasn't anything pleasant. She was going to respond when the Houndoom took her attention.

"Think nothing of it. I'm quite honored to even be considered as part of this group, especially one with a rather vivacious ghost like yourself, Gwendoline,"

Gwen laughed lightly. "Oh my, well, t-that's very Kindler...that was bad, please forget I said anything. That's very kind of you, good sir. We're happy to have you." She gave a curtsy and giggled at the complete change in tone from just last night the group was experiencing.

After this Nine and Alleria chatted for a bit, while Gwen moved over to Lok, smiling at him and mouthing "Thank you" for his understanding her earlier request and not outing Fiona.

Out loud she spoke. "Whatever the case we should really find a way out. Without that tunnel it'll be difficult but..."

"If you guys plan on getting out of here, now's certainly the time." Gwen turned as Azelf floated over to the group, a grim look on his face. "There's trouble brewing. Those mobsters you mentioned? Seems that the Nidoking tried some attack on the Honchkrow's right hand man. He failed, the Honchkrow retaliated. Murdered his poor, blind, nephew." Azelf sighed. "It's all out war out there. We got lucky so far but who knows if the battle will find its way here, the Emperor likely will want to steer their fighting in this direction. You all need to go now or you won't be able to avoid getting caught in the middle."

Team Neo Not Dark, Outside of Deku

As Easter explored the ruins of the sushi shop he would find in it supplies, food, some kitchen utensils, and other such things. As he shifted through the rubble he would hear a groan and, if he investigated, find out that Sam was there, trapped under likely hundreds of pounds of debris. Try as he might he wouldn't be able to budge the rubble enough to get Sam out. "Is...okay, is okay...Go, go far from here. Another storm, a worse storm, coming...I feel it, in bones, yes...Those not broken, ha ha-urgh..." Sam said. He struggled to look Easter in the eye. "The children, children important, children make world better...place. You know this, I feel that, too..." He flinched as the weight of the debris shifted, pushing more force upon his body.

Even if Easter left to get some help, it would be too late, the trip out of the city and back would take long enough that Sam would pass away.

They were able to eventually get Sam's body out, and somberly return him to the camp. Most of the people there knew Sam in some way, and even those who had had disagreements with him could agree his loss was a great one. They planned to have a funeral for him, and in spirit a funeral for Deku itself, the next morning before they all went their separate ways.

When Dora awoke, it was to discover the others were already awake and Fawkes and Brooke were discussing where to go. She rolled over and ended up at their feet. "Mornin...um....um. Wherever we go...I just...let's not go to Merm, kay? Kay? Kay." Dora nodded firmly, oddly serious, before looking around. "What's everyone doing over there? What's wrapped in that sheet?"

She waddled over, only to gasp when she learned the news. "The nice man is...gone?" She whispered.

The funeral was a somber one. Hardly any words were spoken, it seemed most of the people there were unable to come up with words suitable. They lowered Sam's body and gave everyone a chance to say something before filling the grave with dirt. Inquires about Sam's employee went about and, thankfully, someone said they had seen her escape the city last night. However that small bit of news didn't do much to weaken the sadness that spread throughout them.

Dora, unable to completely wrap her head around this, simply stayed uncharacteristically silent throughout it all. Though looking into her eyes one might find a surprising grimness to her gaze. She had seen death before, twice recently in a certain sense, she knew what it was.

And still she remained silent, gazing up into the sky, as the last bit of dirt landed upon Sam's grave.

Nine couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at the Mismagius's comment about him being "Kindler," completely bemused by what she was going for there, but even she thought it was dumb and dropped it. Taking a look around the rest of the group he could tell that they were made up of all sorts, and was definitely going to be an...interesting group to travel around with. But with introductions out of the way, they seemed to be in need of finding a next place to go. While they were standing about trying to figure this out though, Azelf seemed to tell them that a gang war started to break out between the Nidoking and the Honchkrow. Nine pondered on that for a moment, seeing that Azelf definitely seemed to have some kind of concern about the situation at hand, he couldn't help but ask how it'd go for them. "Do you think you guys will manage alright?"

"We've been through worse together."

With a small smile still on his face, he said, "well if you say so." He then looked towards the rest of the group and decided to give his thoughts on the matter. "Personally, I still want to go and explore the city more. Try to find out anymore I can about the legends of the world that I can, and that kind of stuff, you know? However," his expression got more serious as he continued on. "These two, the Honchkrow and Nidoking, are dangerous people. They might not have the same kind of raw power that Xatu had, but it's still not something that you should take lightly." Nine let this sink in for a bit, only to then go into a sigh. Even if they said they had it covered, Nine still couldn't help but feel worried about just leaving the legends high and dry here, most likely an effect of being put into a battle against something that had the strength to threaten them just the other day. Yet, aside from the altaria, these gijinka did not seem like fighters, and trying to force them to be such would just be wrong.

"Regardless, I'll follow you guys wherever you go now, and being the newest member of the group my opinion probably has the least sway here. So, I'll leave it to the rest of you. Anyway, there's something I gotta take care of, so tell me what you decided on when I get back." With that, Nine gave a short wave before leaving the group for a bit, navigating his way through the city in order to find a certain building. The building was small, having a sign that read "Dragonite Express Base" on it, and had an unlit torch on it that seemed to be as big, if not bigger than the rest of the building it rested on. Nine didn't really have many people that he felt in need to stay in constant contact with, and so while he used the service, it wasn't often. Yet, with the current turn of events, there was someone in particular that he felt he owed a report on his current situation to. As such, the houndoom took out a piece of paper that was lying around at the station and began writing on it.
[spoiler=The Letter]
Hey Trevor,

I know it's been a while since I've last been around, but something big happened that I thought you needed to know about. I met one of them, a legend, awhile ago on the road. Also met Godslayer. It's been a bit of an experience. Sorry that I'm keeping things short and vague here, but if I start now I'll probably end up sending you a memoir, so I'll go into more detail when I get back, so you better look forward to me doing most of the talking this time.

See you soonish,
-Nine

When all was said and done, Nine then folded it up and put it an envelope, also provided by the station before he went over to use the torch. Using the station's system of doing so, Nine lit the torch up, causing the it to blaze with a mighty, green flame, signaling to its worker just that they were needed. As Nine stood there, waiting for the worker he started to say something that to anyone else probably seemed like utter nonsense. With a slightly playful voice, yet almost like it was trying to speed through the words, Nine said, "sassy spinarak spinning spitballs softly, ha. Ha."Whether or not the worker had interrupted him mid sentence, though, had yet to be

"Well...it seems like we need to decide now or we'll be dead." Alleria huffed with a displeased tone as she heard about the conflict escalation between the Nidoking and Honchkrow.

"If...uh...if I remember correctly there's a wall surrounding the slums...so that would be our first priority. I suppose none of you has Dig...right? The one we came from would be quite an issue too.

I'd say we should find a way to break it...but...uh...I can't think of a way to gather enough force to do so. Man....I wish I can fly freely in the sky..."

As she complained to herself, Nine decided to leave momentarily, dealing with some issues on her own. Alleria was quite miffed that she couldn't continue her date with Fiona, nor deliver the nuggets that she had with her to...

...uh...

Altera Paindragon? She couldn't remember anything about who she's supposed to be. Perhaps...maybe she could...but that would just make her...But there was no time to be indecisive. They were in a rush, and they could not simply stay there longer. Alleria would be quite worried that any harms could potentially be done to her travelling companions and Fiona, and...the legends being with them could be furthering the issue. But...

"Aaah!" She yelled in frustration, and grabbed at the big pouch she had always been hiding on her and put it down on a nearby surface. The pouch opened, revealing the golds that she had.

"There supposed to be a proper entrance here, right? Can't we just bribe them somehow? Maybe the cute boys could...uh...I mean the legends could tag along with us and help trick them too...

Otherwise...screw it, I'll distract them. I think that's the only way we can escape from this slums."

The Take Down was something Fia anticipated to a degree, but even as she managed to avoid taking the brunt of the attack, what did hit still hurt her a lot. However, something more important soon happened. She realized at the time she was distracted, the Mightyena decided that it was a good time to attack her with a pair of Dark Pulses, but Richard stopped to take the brunt of it and roared. Yet, that was used as a time for James to assault his own brother using a charged WIld Charge, further boosted by his electric terrain, and that managed to send Richard flying.

"...So this is happening." She was not panicking, but her expression clearly showed frustration. She sighed for a bit, and launched herself upwards almost immediately using her String Shot to latch herself to the ceilings and trawling her upwards. The fact that she had always been the one getting protected by Richard in this battle frustrated her to no ends. She was supposed the one to protect the King! That was what her mother would like for her. That was what fate had told her.

"Now...this is...this is for my children...the one whose bonds have been destroyed by you."

She couldn't be on the ceiling for too long. Positioning herself first, she launched a series of Will o' the Wisp to the Luxray below, although perhaps none of those would hit him. However...it was meant to be a distraction. Willing herself to be immolated by her own flame, the string on her back snapped, and Fia jumped from the ceiling towards the treacherous advisor. She rolled herself in a fetal position, and started to spin, creating a big wheel of fire aiming to crush James from above.

"And this is for...this is for defiling this sacred place!"

The Slums Team Karaoke

"Ah, well...that's good. Erm...yeah." He was far too flustered from being around her to notice her smile. "Sure...yeah..." He was relieved with how everything had turned out, despite still being clearly terrified of being around the scorpion girl. He let out a sigh of relief. At least for now he was safe. This period of relaxation was cut short, however, when Fiona accidentally touched him with her shoulder. He nearly jump out of his skin before nervously stepping back a bit. "Sorry! I'm uh...well you bumped in...Sorry!" He stammered out words. He had a grin on his face, although it was clear he was still nervous.

As Nine and Alleria went on their conversation, Lok turned to Gwen, whom seemed to be mouthing "Thank You" to him. Probably for not blowing Fionas cover. He gave her a thumbs up and a grin, although he was clearly still nervous. His face seemed to beg for an explanation. Just then, Azelf started talking about their current situation. Alleria also seemed to nervously place her purse on some sort of platform - was it a stump? It wasn't really important.

"W-Well, if they have an all-out war outside, then..." He stared at their surroundings. "...maybe this is our chance to slip by the guards, while they're distracted by the gang war." He turned to Alleria. "A distraction would help a lot, just...be careful, if you do decide to go through you plan." He rubbed the back of his head. "Don't do anything that would get you stuck here. The team would be incomplete without you." He gave her a smile, a slight blush of embarrassment flashing on his face. It was definitely true, but there probably was a less corny way of saying it. "You know, I never really got the chance to..." he looked around before coughing lightly. "...well, I should probably wait for uh..Nine to get back, before I...well, you'll see." Maybe it was because he was still flustered, but it felt like he was tripping on all of his words today. Regardless, he should probably wait for Nine to get back before expressing his gratitude.

Coldharbour Team Showdown

The next morning they were greeted by crowds of uncannily happy townsfolk. They definitely weren't this nice yesterday - free food samples and complements were basically thrown at them. It was really...odd. One of them even gave Taiga a cute necklace - one that closely resembled a water drop. "It looks good on you." She told Taiga with a light flirtatious tone, tossing a small wink at her. Suddenly, the young Frogadier from yesterday seemed to appear, calling for his mother whom was the merchant that had gifted the Mystical Water to Taiga. He went on to explain that he had told the rest of the town that they were going to save the doctor. "Oh, you shouldn't have..." she said this in a modest tone, although she would of preferred if he had not made a big deal about it. "We'll start as soon as we find out friends."

It didn't take very long for them to find Isole - or rather, it didn't take very long for Isole to find them. The rotom girl seemed to emerge out of the large crowd. "So, what now?" She seemed to be completely oblivious of the crowd she had just parted through. "Isole!" She shouted, tossing her arms around her, before immediately removing them from her. "Sorry, got carried away there..." She let out a small laugh. "Anyways...we need to find Cabr" before she finished the sentence, she looked past the crowd and noticed a rather familiar head. She parted through the crowd to reach him, before almost completely throwing herself upon him. "Cabrakan!" She too, in this situation, also immediately let go of him. "Sorry! Man, I don't know what's up with me this morning..." Of course, she knew exactly why she was all giddy - the thought of being able to teach that Froslass a lesson seemed to fill her with energy. "I should probably fill you guys in." She waited for Taiga and Isole to catch up with her before continuing. "So we all know about the S.S. Showdown and, well, you know what." She emphasized that last part, making sure not to describe the rod itself. She would rather avoid a panic. "Well, as it turns out the lord at Fryst didn't take too kindly to this. Started taking people from Coldharbour - including the only doctor that they actually have. And it so happens that a certain Froslass told a certain doctor's kid that we were part of the pirates. So, now we're going to Fryst to not only do what we set out to do, but to also find the doctor and teach that Froslass a lesson she'll never forgot. Who knows, maybe we'll get back you know what." She turned to Taiga. "I think that covers it all. Anything you want to add?" She felt a little bad that she was, more or less, taking up the spotlight in explaining everything. She couldn't help herself - she hadn't felt a rush like this since, well...since a long time ago.

Ditto Village

The old man gijinka looked at Ari blankly. "Uhh...that's...nice?" he ended it with a question. The gijinka did seem to catch Kazo's muttered comment, though he didn't seem to understand the sarcasm. "Wait, are you really?" he asked, before another glance at the members of the group caused him to shake his head. "No, how could you be held captive when two of them are children?" he mused.

And then Kah spoke up. "My name is Kah, and I came here chasing after a thief. Things are cleared up now, and your friends here gave us some food to make up for it, Sweeswee."

The blue man flushed. "Don't call me that! My name is Suiten, of the proud Samurott. It isn't my fault that these Ditto can't say my name right. Though..." he shot them a look through narrowed eyes. "I wonder why they can't pronounce it when they can imitate voices so well."

"Easy!" one of the Ditto clinging to him chirped. "We like Sweeswee better."

The Samurott groaned. "I should've known, you brats," though the words were sharp, the tone of voice bespoke of fondness.

Finally, Mac recovered. "Really? That makes us sound so lame!" she rolled her eyes at Ari.

"What do you mean, lame?" the Litleo replied indignantly. "You're the one whose stomach was growling that whole time!"

But Mac's attention had already moved on. "So. You're... Oh my gosh so cool! Hi, Hi, I'm Mac! Uhhhh yeah what Kah said, one of these guys took my bag. But now it's worth it cause I got to meet you."

Suiten sweatdropped. "Really, I'm not that famous. In fact, I didn't think I was famous at all. Still, thank you," he bowed formally, miraculously managing that with multiple Ditto clinging to him. Then they started to feed him, much to his protest. "No, it's fine. I already ate, mmph."

"This is Ari, Kah, and Kazo, my lackeys. See, we're like, tooootally a group of super cool Chasers, and I'm the boss. We just fought Regirock and, well, we lost, but we totally fought him, and oh my gosh I can't believe this."

"Stop acting like a weirdo," Ari muttered.

"I see," the blue gijinka nodded when Mac finished. "So you are Chasers, and you managed to face Regirock and live to tell the tale. Impressive, though I'm sorry for all the trouble my friends have caused you." He bowed once more. "I suppose it is my turn, then. I am Suiten, and just like you, I am a Chaser. I stumbled upon this place not too long ago while searching for the legends, and have been protecting it since." He paused. "Though truthfully, they do not require my aid. Rather, I feel more like I have been the one being taken care of." He made a shooing motion when one of the Ditto tried to feed him again.

He glanced at the group. "To be honest, you have been the most excitement this place has seen since I got here. I suppose I was hoping you were enemies to fight off. Still, I'm glad you came."

"Same here!" one of the Ditto squeaked. "You guys are fun!" As if that were a cue, the Ditto swarmed the group. Even the Ditto that were hanging off the Samurott.

"Are you going to stay here forever and ever?" one of the Ditto asked.

"A-a-a-a-a-are y-y-y-y-y-you?" the littlest Ditto echoed.

Outside Deku

Easter hadn't expected to find the friendly Bisharp from before. Well, he had hoped, but he had also hoped he'd be strong enough to free him if need be.

But he wasn't, and they both realized that.

"Is...okay, is okay...Go, go far from here. Another storm, a worse storm, coming...I feel it, in bones, yes...Those not broken, ha ha-urgh..." Easter gave a broken laugh with him. "The children, children important, children make world better...place. You know this, I feel that, too..." And then the debris shifted, and he couldn't speak without gasping for air.

During the funeral itself, he couldn't stop thinking about Sam's last words. To leave Deku. And...protect the children. Yes, he knew exactly the importance of that. The wind shifted, and he blinked, remembering a fresher wind, one that smelled of salt and seawater.

He glanced to the side, seeing Fawkes, that fox kit from before. Not only her, but Dora. Both of them homeless now. He had been ready to leave before, hadn't he? To let them fend for themselves with nothing more than an Emboar who was just as devastated as they were. He clenched his teeth. Wouldn't that have been just like abandoning that one?

Easter didn't have any plans, any goal, aside from getting stronger and beating down those who called themselves strong. He was like the fickle wind, much like most of the fairy types, with little actual attachment to anybody. He would stay when it suited him, and leave when he felt like it. That had always been his way. Only a few had known his company longer than a couple weeks.

And yet, what Sam had said resonated with him. How could he leave another fox kit like this? He would stay with them, at least for a while. When the funeral ended, he approached Brooke and the others. "If you will accept me, I will travel with you." His voice was uncharacteristically solemn.

Coldharbour

The next morning was as almost as annoying as it possibly could have been.  The townsfolk's mood turned a total one-eighty from what it was the previous day, and Taiga wished it had stayed that way.  Everyone approaching her and talking to her, as if they knew her, was about to make her blow a gasket.  When a lady came up to her and put a necklace around her neck, Taiga was about to bite her head off when she heard Scarlet behind her.

"It looks good on you."

She twiddled her fingers while pouting.

"Thanks...I guess..."

Seemingly from out of nowhere, she heard another familiar voice...one that drug on like it was on the verge of dying from boredom.

"So, what now?"

Scarlet took the time to explain the situation for the two lollygags, explaining that they were now to rescue the towns doctor from the icy clutches of the Fryst empire.  When Scarlet turned to Taiga, she was aggressively twisting her finger in her ear.  Removing it, she looked at the finger with disgust, and flicked a large clump of frozen wax from the tip.

"I think that covers it all. Anything you want to add?"

"Tch....not after that long winded explanation.  You pretty much nailed the icicle on the head."  Since there was only one way leading out of town, Taiga took the initiative to start the travelling.  She waved back to the cheering crowd, a lukewarm, almost irked, expression on her face.  After the others caught up, she walked beside Isole, peering at her from every which direction.  "That over-exaggerated candle didn't do anything to you last night did he?  We shouldn't have left a fire type to melt your cute little face off!"  Taiga fufu'd and continued to the front, next to Scarlet.

Team Showdown
Coldharbour

Perhaps Cabrakan had spent too much time trying to explain everything; that much had been evident from the way Isole had zoned out through half of it. Though thankfully she listened to enough that she was OK with the whole thing. However...

"I doubt I can catch that Froslass any time soon. We might as well keep going for now."

"Wait. The Froslass was here?" Cabrakan mused aloud, before he got to thinking, 'That would explain the state Isole was in when I found her. But still... I wonder what her next move is. I should probably write a letter to Bubble in case that cursed Froslass gets to the guards at Fryst.'

Unfortunately, Isole had dragged Cabrakan away before he could act on that thought.

...

He'd been dragged through quite the large crowd, but eventually Cabrakan managed to find Taiga and Scarlet, the latter of which seemed way too glad to see him. After all, it was only a night in which they'd been separated. Thought it turned out they had their own ordeals...

"I should probably fill you guys in. So we all know about the S.S. Showdown and, well, you know what. Well, as it turns out the lord at Fryst didn't take too kindly to this. Who knows, maybe we'll get back you know what."

"No wonder I couldn't find a doctor around these parts," Cabrakan scoffed, "I just hope our so-called "lord and savior" didn't take any mailmen with him as well. I've a letter I need to send to my daughter right away. ...and I heard that, woman!"

Cabrakan raised his voice on purpose as he turned to Taiga, having seemed to immediately catch wind of what Taiga was, presumably, trying to whisper into Isole's ear. Though this may have just been to psyche Taiga out. He suddenly ended up smirking either way.

"For your information, I did less to her than you would've done," he told the Sharpedo, curious to see what her reaction would be. Though all in all likelihood, there were two possibilities: either Taiga would instantly become defensive and/or ask what Cabrakan meant by that, or she would finally get it through her thick skull that the team's fellow Chandelure was completely harmless after all.

In any case, Cabrakan could only hope that the guards haven't been tipped off about the party's arrival.

"Are you going to stay here forever and ever?" one of the Ditto asked.

"A-a-a-a-a-are y-y-y-y-y-you?" the littlest Ditto echoed.

"As um... Nice as that sounds," Kazo spoke up. "We... Can't... We have.... Lotsa chasing to do... Ya know, because we're Chasers," There was also the fact that he did not want to stay here. The Ditto were cute, but something here just put him on edge.

There was also the fact there was no way in hell Ari, Mac, and Kah would stay. And if Mac and Kah didn't drag him away, that would leave Ari alone with the crazies. He couldn't put the poor kid through that. God, why did he do this to himself?

Denku did his best to defend himself from Jabari's onslaught of blows. The Zebstrika was Thrashing away, something under normal circumstances Denku could tank with no issues, however, due to the large gap in power and Denku's already weaken condition, he was getting damaged badly. The worst part is, there wasn't too much he could to to stop it.

Despite the pain he was feeling, his mind was clear enough to formulate a plan. If he could survive this onslaught, Jabari would be exhausted and confused, a bit like Denku would be after Outrage. However, the Chaser could tell his body wasn't going to withstand much more of this pounding. He needed to grab Bea and get the hell out of here. This wasn't their fight. Just needed to get back to Fia.

When the thrashing ended, Denku slowly lowered his arms, wobbling back a bit as his body struggled to stand. He needed to throw Jabari off balance long enough for him to escape.

"At least... I die an honorable... Death...," Denku panted. "Too bad... The one taking my life is so dishonorable...," As he spoke, he silent created a Rock Slide, having all the rocks float and be made behind Jabari. "Tell me, does it fill you with pleasure, pounding on a sick man that had just fought his way through the Mightyena horde? Or resorting to stabbing a warrior behind his back when the battle started?"

He wasn't sure how Jabari would react to his assault on the Zebstrika's character, but if things worked out, he would never have to see him again to find out. "I suppose... It's good I'm not an honorable person either...," Denku snapped his fingers, and the rocks he had lined up for his attack began to rain down on Jabari. Hopefully, it would cause the warrior to flinch.

Denku didn't stick around to find out though. The moment he launched the attack, he turned and ran at Bea, sliding across the ground to grab her without losing momentum. He positioned her bridal style in his arms as he made a mad dash to the giant rock where Fia would be. He only hoped he could make it in time to help both of the women in his life.

Team Karaoke, Adarid Slums

"They all laughed at me." The young lady who was currently soaring high above Adarid City, heading for the slums, said. "Quincy why did you waste money on a beacon in the slums, none of them can afford a letter. Well who's laughing now jerkwads!" The moment she saw the flame light up she had taken off, ignoring the battle going on underneath her.

However ignoring the guards was a bit trickier. As she approached they launched their attacks, and she had to spiral out of the way to dodge them. "Think Quincy think, what do I do...I need to get to that Beacon, it's my promise, my mission, my destiny!" She realized moments after that she was talking to herself and flushed red. Then it hit her. One way to be sure to get in. Through the front door. "But Quincy." She said. "There IS no front door. Well, Quincy, you're right there isn't...yet."

A blazing blue aura enveloped Quincy and she rushed forward, diving down as the guards sent out a second volley, and crashing into the side of the wall, blasting through the wall and into the slums on the other side. She kept going, moving at a blur overhead the rest of the group, until she reached the far end of the slums where her beacon was...and slammed right into it.

The beacon tilted, started falling over, and Quincy panicked, grabbing hold of it and adjusting it upright. Once it was in place, albeit a little skewed, she turned to the man who had summoned her. "Hey hey hey." She said, pausing, out of breath, before continuing. "The name's Quincy, of the Dragonite Express, whatchu got for me?"

Gwen nodded grimly at Alleria's assessment. "I don't like it but I think you're right. We're in a bad spot here. A distraction is just what we..."

A loud crash caused her to jump and turn towards the wall, as a Dragonite hurtled overhead. "I wonder how we'll find a distraction." Fiona said sarcastically.

Team Sexual Tension, Pride Rock

The Mightyena leaped at Fia just as soon as she shot upward, and cracked their heads together, stunning themselves and stumbling back and forth for several moments. The Pyroar, however, waited for Fia's attack before moving. They put themselves between James and the Will-O-Wisps, taking the flames without feeling much effect. They both turned to launch a Flamethrower towards Fia as she surprised them once more by hurtling forward and crashing into James.

The Luxray let out a snarl as he felt the heat strike him, he turned around and gripped Fia by the hair, growling and shoving her face-first into the ground.

Richard took advantage of this moment of distraction. His eyes flared and he took a wide stance, and a deep breath, before shoving both his palms forward. Flames enveloped his body and launched out with intense force. An unbelievable amount of fire struck James and he was sent hurtling across the room and slammed into the wall above the entrance, and fell to the ground.

Richard began panting, obviously the attack wore him out at least temporarily, as he knelt by Fia, checking to see if she was alright.

And then the Pyroar moved, ramming into him and slamming him into the wall once more, then one Headbutted Richard fiercely.

James chuckled as he picked himself off the ground, reaching into a small sac and pulling out a couple Sitrus Berries. He chewed on them before standing up fully and making his way forward, shoving the Mightyena forward to surround Richard and Fia while he stayed back. "I knew a blowhard like you couldn't resist to use that move so soon. This is why you will die here, and I will take your place."

"Tell me, does it fill you with pleasure, pounding on a sick man that had just fought his way through the Mightyena horde? Or resorting to stabbing a warrior behind his back when the battle started?"

Jabari's eyes narrowed. Was the man daft? "There is no honor in dying a pointless death." He muttered.

"I suppose... It's good I'm not an honorable person either...,"

That brief warning made Jabari realize that something was wrong. As the rocks fell he turned, using his Thrashing to prevent the majority of the rocks to land on him, though a couple still did. However once he finished clearing the rocks, Denku had taken off.

Jabari sighed in relief. "I do not need to kill unnecessarily after all." He said. Glancing over at the battle he noticed that the Mightena had the upper hand. He could leave this field. Jabari followed Denku, though he made sure to keep out of sight. He didn't intend to chase them, no, his goal was elsewhere.

Team Showdown, Coldharbour

Isole looked between the three people of her group and sighed. "I'm surrounded by idiots." She muttered, then paused. This seemed an out of place statement, as if someone else should have said it. Isole shrugged and walked forward, in between the group, and towards the other side of Coldharbour.

The guard there waved to her and began to go on about how it was a pleasure, come back any time, but stopped short at Isole's glare.

As she passed the wall she noticed a slightly pleasant breeze which, to any non-ice type, would feel like a blistering cold. It seemed that there was a small blizzard going on. Still, she wasted enough time, Scarlet seemed sure the Froslass would be in Fryst and she didn't have any ideas of her own, so to Fryst she would go.

As he stood there, Nine's attention was soon drawn towards a large crashing sound coming from somewhere away from where he was. Looking over, the wall that surrounded the slum seemed to now have a new hole and a blue streak coming from it. His eyes, barely able to keep up with it, eventually followed the streak straight into the station itself. As the streak was revealed to be none other than Dragonite Express woman herself,  Nine whistled at the dragon's appearance, noting it to be rather spectacular and muttering, "punctual as always." As he commented about this, the girl continued to catch her breath until finally getting and asking him what he wanted from her. Pulling out the envelope he had sealed the letter in, he extended it forward towards the girl. "I want you to deliver this letter to a friend of mine. He goes by the name of Trevor and lives just outside of Trailsau in a small shack, a bit hard to miss." He paused for a bit, before seemingly egging on the simple girl saying, "think you can do it?"

"Of course I can, that's my job! I'll be there in two shakes of a Mareep Tail or my name ain't Quincy the Quick!...Gonna need that Poke now."

Reaching into his pocket, Nine pulled out and handed over the money to the Dragonite."There you are, Quincy the Quick. And be sure not to bust through too many walls on the way over. Wouldn't want my favorite mail girl to ruin that lovely face of hers."

"Oh golly gee, lovely, me? Haha, you're a silly dude. If that's all you need I'll be heading right off then."

The girl saluted to the houndoom, and after taking both money and the letter, she waved to him as she took off. Seeing the girl go off as fast as she came in, Nine still couldn't help but be impressed by her speed. With that over and done with, Nine went about snuffing out the flames in the station, about to head out when he took note of something. Seeing how Quincy had entered the scene, he figured it'd probably be at least something useful to help his new group leave if they so wanted to.

Leaving the mail station, Nine had happened back upon his group. The four of them still seemed to be in the middle of trying to figure out what their next move was going to be, and so Nine simply waved to them saying, "and I'm back. So have you guys decided what you wanted to do yet?" Looking at them all, he noticed that they all seemed to be some manner of worried or confused, making it clear to him that they were in no condition or resolve to deal with the other problems that were in this city."If you guys wanted to leave, I think a friend of mine might've just helped us open a way out of these slums."

Well, the battle certainly heated up once Whisper arrived on the scene to observe. Attacks flying every which way, and the tides of combat shifting to and fro between those beneath her. It actually occurred to her just how enjoyable it was to watch a fight, and she resolved that some time she would pick up a ticket to watch the battles in the Arena in Adarid City. However, she was given reason to frown behind that tightly wrapped scarf of hers. None of the combatants had noticed her, they were far too busy with each other, but one of the pair not participating had most certainly picked out that she was there. The old Ambipom was studying her just as she was studying the battle, and she locked eyes with him for just a moment. A simple acknowledgement from the Assassin to the Sage, before she returned to observing the fight. Even though at that moment she had little intention of joining one side or another, she had preparations to make for when she did.

While Fjanna Vaia Livrais, as she so ostentatiously introduced herself, was busy distracting the lesser combatants and the brothers were, however briefly, squaring off, Whisper pressed her blades together and once more summoned her weapon in the form that she had used to duel Entei. As the Larvesta attempted to burn those before her, she coated its edge in the black ichor that streamed from her mouth with only a moment's bidding. It stuck, and she was quite confident that it would mix with the blood of whoever she struck first. With her preparations done, she stood and looked upon the fight just as the Luxray restored his strength with a few berries. It certainly seemed that, without intervention, he would prove victorious. Perhaps she was strong enough to make a difference in that outcome, and perhaps she was only strong enough to join the winning side.

Though it seemed to be the safer option in the short term, she hesitated in joining the leader of the Coup d'etat. He was certainly the more intelligent of the brothers, but that was as much something which worked against him as for him. He could work out how to prevent the Order from ever establishing themselves in this land if he wanted, and moreover if she joined on his side he could easily spin the story such that they were responsible for the King's death. That would in turn allow him to claim the throne without appearing to be in any wrong, and the problem of expanding their power would grow rather than shrink. She was ever more suspicious of this as he had already demonstrated himself to be untrustworthy. While he was certainly the one of the pair that she and hers could respect more, as his methods were not so different from theirs, he was also one that she could not afford to trust. The current King, though, was an honorable sort. However foolish honor was to her, she could not deny that he was the more trustworthy of them. His gratitude could even be used to encourage his allowance of the Order in his lands. This, however, was no different than what things had been when she first entered. The only real difference was that she had gotten tired of hearing James spouting inane nonsense.

She raised her blade, the tip towards the rough center of the mess that the fight had become, and flames crept up over her form to coalesce about it. These were not the bright oranges and yellows that Richard and the other Pyroars were unleashing below. Instead, the flames burned a dark red and spilled soot around them as they surged. When she thrust the blade forward, the dark ring on her left hand gleaming brightly as it further empowered the attack, the flames surged forth as well and Blasted somewhere in the mix. She wasn't bothering to aim for any target in particular, this was just to give her cover to make her entrance. As the flames faded and left behind a cloud of sooty smoke, she leaped from the ledge and came down on the ground in the center of the slowly fading cloud. Even as she fell, darkness gathered about her form and she muttered a prayer.

"Lord of night, I ask your blessing upon me.

Let me slay those who stand in opposition.

In return, I offer you the souls of all those whose lives I claim."

As the last word faded on her lips, the darkness about her surged out in all directions from her. She was confident that the King and the Larvesta would not be too badly harmed by it, as she was confident that it would do a fine job of striking down the already wounded Pyroar and Mightyena who were joined in the fight. Whatever collateral damage was done to those who were loyal to the King was worth it if she was given a clearer shot on the Betrayer. The rush of darkness had blasted away the smoke that she had used to cover her entrance, and now she stood there in the office of an Assassin of the Order facing down James. She had nothing more to say at this moment, and only raised her wicked blade in preparation to strike the Luxray down when she had the chance.

"Thank Arceus you're here! I have been searching for you all day long ever since you didn't appear in our weekly tutor session.

...Are those bruises? Is there anything wrong?"

"Ah...miss Alleria, it's nice of you to come looking for me, even here. I guess...I'm sorry for leaving without telling you."

The young Swablu girl was sitting alone on the bench of the city park when Alleria managed to find her. Despite responding to her call, she didn't seem to be quite paying her mentor any attention. Bruises were quite visible on her face and arms, and her long hair was quite in a messy state, with branches and leaves stuck on it. Her clothes were somewhat tattered too, and she seemed to refuse to show Alleria her face even as she sat next to the young girl. The silence continued for a bit, but soon Alleria's curiosity decided to take over, and she decided to push the girl for the answer.

"Your mother and father are really worried. They thought you were kidnapped, and well...with you ended up looking like this, what I should tell them?

Please, tell me what happened. If you do not wish it to be something your parents be aware of, then I will promise to keep it a secret. If you have an issue, then isn't the only way to help you means telling me what your issue is? If necessary, I will even help you to craft a stor-"

"No need for that." It was uncharacteristically blunt and cold coming from the usually cheerful girl. While Alleria had been aware of something off regarding this girl, the tone was still surprising, even after what happened several months ago in the Opera House. However, before the Noctowl could start speaking again, the Swablu continued what she had in mind.

"Don't you hate it when you learn that the people who are close to you have been lying to you all these times? I hate liars.

They don't deserve to exist in this world."

"C-Celia? What-"

"Miss Alleria...you're my only friend now.

Please...i beg you, please don't leave me..."

Celia turned around to face the Noctowl, and the reason she hid her face earlier became clear. Several gashes, although they were pretty shallow on a glance, were visible on her face, and although those had dried somewhat, the rusted red of her blood was quite sickening to look at for the Noctowl. However, as to not disappoint the girl, she hid what she truly feel, and as the girl went for a hug, Alleria responded without saying much, despite she was still having a lot of questions on her mind. She noticed the blood on Celia's hands however, and it was easy for her to notice that there were something off about them. Even from a glance, Alleria could easily come to conclusion that that were not Celia's blood. Despite of this fact however, Alleria still tried her best to pet Celia to calm her down as the two share their warmth with a hug. Yet, perhaps it was just her feeling, but she had the faint sensation that for a split second, sharp edges were pressing against her back earlier as Celia hugged her.

"Hey...please don't tell my parents about this...but..."

"What is it, Celia? There is no need to worry, I will keep my lips shut about this."

"I...I have been learning my parent's dance ever since we both saw it a while ago.

It was...hard, to say the least, but I think I managed to pull it off. I was just showing it off to a few kids that aren't relevant to me anymore earlier...but I think i got a bit carried away. It was fun though.

I'm sure though, if they can speak now, they’ll praise my performance."

"If you guys wanted to leave, I think a friend of mine might've just helped us open a way out of these slums."

“How…awfully convenient.”

So that was what the cause of the crash. Alleria looked outside, and noticed on the distance, beyond the warring gangs, a hole had opened on the slum walls. She looked at Nine in a way to question him, but with the wall having been opened, she returned to the table, and returned the gold nuggets back to her pocket. The existence of the hole had relieved her of the pressure on her mind, but the group must find a way to escape still.

She looked at everyone present. Gwen was probably not going to be on board in a plan that involved violence. Fiona…she’s worried that she would get herself hurt badly if she was forced to fight, with how much of a klutz she was. Lok was definitely not someone that should be in the middle of this gang war. Nine…well, she didn’t know much about him, but Alleria was sure that he’s the strongest of them all, not counting the legendary trio that didn’t want to leave…nor help them. That was annoying.

“Think! Think! What would mother say in a time like this…?”

Oh right, smiles. She’s an entertainer, dammit! There’s really only one course of action for her to do. Even if she didn’t feel like it, she had to perform to anyone and everyone, and bring smiles upon them. If she couldn’t do that, then she might as well discard her dream to be the ultimate entertainer. Yeah, then that would be what she’d do. Her voice would open the way for everyone.

“Hey…uh…guys…

I have an idea. Nine, can you follow me so I can get some cover? The Dragonite…was it, that crashed earlier, would probably distract everyone enough, so we need to rush ahead while we still get some time.

However…since it wouldn’t last long, I can do something. Nine, if your friend is still in a position to help us, can you call them to us? But that aside, let’s go now as fast as we could…and please don’t forget to close your ears if I give you the signal.

Ok?”

She took a deep breath. Whether the group agreed or not, this was something more than that. This was a part of her dream’s fulfillment, so she would still do it either way, even if she’s alone in it. With her mind and heart ready, she rushed towards the front door, and right towards the streets. And then, she stopped and turned. Ignoring any kind of attacks that might hit her as she did it, she took another breath, and raised her voice.

“Hello everyone! This is me, Alleria Ethera, the idol of the heavens! I now implore you to cease your violence, and listen to my song!

My show has only just begun!”

And so, she started to Sing, channeling as much as her passion to the song.

“I know not if there is a reason why I am so sad at heart…”

Even if they don’t like it…even if they find her performance boring and fell asleep…it should not matter.

Though if you say you cannot hear it and pick it up,
Before me, I shall deafen you to all but the song.

This street is now her stage. Whether it’s on war and peace, whether people praise her or want to murder her, singing and performing is what the girl truly wished.

I, whose life is small, tiny, and transient,
Do this so I can be born again from this ‘cocoon.’

The songmaiden of the rivers, for now, she is “Lorelei”. A haunting legend of bygone ages, that refuses to depart.

You shall be born anew,
So long as you comprehend these ‘words.’

So, as she prayed in her song, may her voice reach the heart of everyone.

I shall make this song of delight resound!

“Curses…”

Bloodied and bruised after James’ counterattack on her, Fia struggled to wake up, but managed to retain enough of her consciousness to think and to hopefully continue fighting. Richard was nearby, and seemingly worried about her wellbeing. She simply smiled at the tired lion king to tell him that she was fine and ready to continue, but even she could not hide the worry she had regarding the state of battle. Both Fia and the king were weakened with what had already happened so far, and James had seemingly restored some of his vitality using a Sitrus Berry.

"I knew a blowhard like you couldn't resist to use that move so soon. This is why you will die here, and I will take your place."

Right, Overheat. Fia noticed the king had used it to knock over James earlier, and while it was powerful, it would’ve really weaken his future attacks with how much force he brought up using that move. However, right now James was still quite far away from the two, and he was shoving the remaining Mightyenas to surround her and the king. Fia considered using her Embryonic Flame to just end the hyenas decisively, but with the traitor still up and running, that would be meaningless. Perhaps, she could just use the gift the Flames of Rebirth had given her earlier.

“Mother…give me strength. Kindle my embers, and let my soul be ablaze.

Fire Dance!”

Shawls made of flames surrounded her as she started to dance, and as she was consumed in a trance-like state, she directed the fire towards the nearby Mightyena-

-and promptly crashed into the floor as a surge of dark pulse she wasn’t aware of the source ended up hitting and flinching her. It took her a bit to be able to get back on her feet, and she looked around to see a Dark-type that had joined the fray, and Fia promptly frowned. To think that one agent of the so-called Order that revered the lord of nightmares, the one organized cult no one kept on pretending as a secret, to think that someone as troublesome as the Dark-type was here was not something Fia liked as an omen. However, at least for now she noticed that the Dark-type was intent on defeating the Mightyena and Pyroars.

Fia sighed. That probably-attempted-assassin was not really trustworthy, and with how nonchalantly she attacked her along with everyone else earlier, there’s no reason to believe that she cared about the King or Fia’s wellbeing. But, that shouldn’t matter. She was technically on their side, and that was what’s important.

“I don’t know who you are, and what are your kin do here, but if we fight the same opponent, then so be it.

May the blessing of your legend be upon you, o’ dweller of darkness.”

Finishing her greeting, Fia returned her focus to her nearby enemies, and summoned the flames of her Fire Dance back on her. Making sure that the Dark-type was not firing off another Dark Pulse again, once she was sure that there wouldn't be anymore distractions she then started to strike the nearby foes as she returned to her trance-like stance of dance.

"Don't call me that! My name is Suiten, of the proud Samurott. It isn't my fault that these Ditto can't say my name right. Though... I wonder why they can't pronounce it when they can imitate voices so well."

Suiten, then. Based on Mac's reactions, this guy was apparently a big deal? Kah had never heard of him; couldn't be that important, could he? If he was, it only would make sense that his name would pass through Kah's ears at least once in the past. Once the whelps were done bickering amongst themselves, Suiten Sweeswee spoke up once again. Basically, he was a Chaser who found his way here and had been taken care of by the residents since. Speaking of whom, the Dittos present soon swarmed the group once again.

"Are you going to stay here forever and ever?"

"A-a-a-a-a-are y-y-y-y-y-you?"

"As um... Nice as that sounds, we... Can't... We have.... Lotsa chasing to do... Ya know, because we're Chasers."

"He's right," Kah added. "We've got legends to chase and fights to win. I need to get strong and pay Regirock back for making me lose a fight, and I don't even know where to find R--" Kah cut herself off there. She had no clue where to find Reshiram, the legendary dragon of truth and Kah's ultimate target as a Chaser. Finding and defeating Reshiram would surely convince it to spread the truth that dragons were superior to the other types, fit to rule undisputedly. The others gathered here wouldn't understand. Kazo might, but so far he hadn't struck Kah as somebody who really thought about it. He was too passive for that.

"Where to find restorative herbs," Kah lied, glancing away from any eyes set upon her. "If I keep ending up like I have been, I'll need them."

It had been a solemn occasion. Sam was dead, and Thundurus's rage had killed him. To Fawkes, it was one hell of a wake-up call, even if she was having trouble accepting the facts behind it all. Legendaries were not to be trifled with, and were perfectly capable of killing without even trying. Fawkes grew up in a place and style where any day could be one's last, but to this day, she'd never actually seen anyone die. A body or two in passing, but never somebody she knew. Anyone who had seen Fawkes's face during or after the funeral would be able to describe it as a static black void. The reality was that she just didn't want to let Brooke or Dora see her cry, and put up an illusion to hide it. She especially didn't Dora to see her cry.

In time, it passed, and the trio was approached by the Sylveon woman from yesterday.

"If you will accept me, I will travel with you."

What reason was there to deny her? She'd saved Fawkes's life just yesterday, and had done nothing to wrong Brooke or Dora. There was also the itching feeling in the back of her head; she'd seen this person before, and couldn't simply pass it off as deja vu. She wanted to know where she'd met this Sylveon, and the best way to do that was to have them stick around.

"Brooke, let her come with us," Fawkes urged. Her face was still a black sheet, but she was still red around the cheeks and eyes beneath the illusion, which was why she hadn't removed it yet. "She doesn't seem like a bad person, right?"

Team Sexual Tension, Pride Rock

As Denku approached Pride Rock, he would find it in the midst of an intense battle. Mightyena, Pyroar, and Luxray fought against a much smaller, but also determined, group of Pyroar and Luxray. They were losing ground but they were still fighting. The numbers were against them and it would be clear that aiding them would only delay the inevitable if nothing else is done.
If he listened he could hear the Chatot that was with the king earlier directing civilians through the tunnels to keep them from the bulk of the fighting.

Oddly the main tunnel was relatively clear of combatants, perhaps in part due to the flames that were only now dying down in them.

If Denku entered the main cavern he would find....

***

The Mighyena had seemed hesitant to approach the king despite his weakened state, and Fia's flames didn't help. They yelped as the fire licked at their skin, but thankfully for them it didn't last long as a dark pulse came across and interrupted Fia's attack. The Mightyena seemed none to harmed by the assault but they did pause to take note of the stranger who had landed among them.

They each turned to her and let out a Snarl, sending a dark wave of energy crashing into her, which would weaken any non-physical attacks that she used from here on out. That's when the flames they had stupidly ignored returned with a vengeance, burning the Dark types' flesh and causing them to howl in pain.

The Pyroar were struck in the back, while they had Richard pinned against the wall, and, as they were distracted by the attack, Richard opened his mouth and Crunched down upon one, causing them to loosen their grip, and, once they did, Richard slammed a fist into his stomach and then, as the Pyroar doubled over, brought an elbow down onto the back of his head, sending him straight down to the ground, unconscious.

The other Pyroar backed away, fear in his eyes, as he now faced the king on his own.

James, however, seemed none too worried. Seeing Whisper face him, his eyes flashed, and his face transformed into a frightening visage for a moment, and Whipser would feel herself slowing instinctively, and unnaturally.  "A member of the Order, here? Well, that IS unexpected. Impressive to slip in without my notice. But it seems you've chosen a side? Why? I can offer you so much more than him. Even if you stop me here there is an army outside this room, ready to tear any foe they see apart. Now, if you would like..."

His words were interrupted as a part of the wall to his left slid open, revealing a hidden door, and Jabari came out. "Ah, good of you to show up, you can help me clear up this mess."

However Jabari's eyes showed he had no intention of listening to the man. "James!" He thundered. "I have done my part, the king's best men are dead, and you have free reign of Pride Rock. Now give me what I want. Tell me how to find Xerneas!"

"Well, about that." James said, smiling. "I would be more than happy to give you that information, so you can do to them what you did to Volcanion, but we are in the middle of battle as you can see. So just help me finish Richard off and..."

Jabari was upon James in the next moment, grabbing him by the throat, lifting him off his feet, and slamming him into the wall. "You will tell me...Now!"

James looked past Jabari and towards the Mightyena, who seemed confused, and looked desperately at Richard and Fia. The message, as the Mightyena understood, was to continue the fight while he dealt with this.

The Mightyena ignored the king for now, instead turning back to Fia, and both moved forward quickly, seemingly strangely spurred on by their fallen comrade, and the pain running through them from her flames, to further ferocity, and went in for another pair of Crunches. Meanwhile the Pyroar lost all sense of self-preservation and launched a Flamethrower at Richard.

As she was absorbed in her trance-like flow of dance, Fia was hit by the Mightyena's snarl, which while it visibly did some number to her, she was seemingly not caring much of it, and rushed to hit them with another round of Fire Dance in hope of the Flames of Rebirth granting her request of power in this dire situation. However, soon she stopped as she realized another person had entered the tainted sacred realm. It was the Zebstrika she met earlier, however...Fia felt something off from him. He was...it was unknown how to describe it for Fia, but she felt that he had gotten ahold of some kind of power beyond what she would've expected coming from him as the Champion of the Zebstrikas.

"So...you seek one of the legends too..."

It was almost like a whisper when Fia said it. The tone, the expression, and what Fia could feel coming from Jabari's heart made her reached a certain conclusion that he was clearly not seeking the legend for a purpose that would benefit said legend. For one...he, and what she could feel from his heart, reminded Fia of herself. She wondered whether it was a good thing that for now she had chosen to abandon her original mission or not, however, what was important was that while Jabari was now handling James (with utmost ease, just to show how powerful he was), he was more untrustworthy than the Order Assassin over there. However, doing anything to him right now, especially as he was not going to harm the king so far, would be quite unwise. Fia tried to calm herself so she could assess the situation more clearly, and as she did so, she used her String to raise herself up into the ceiling again just as the Mightyena tried to bite her. With how fast she was lifted upwards, the Crunches were safely avoided.

There were four enemies left. The two Mightyenas she managed to dodge earlier, the remaining Pyroar, and James himself. Of course, this was not counting either the assassin or Jabari just yet. Even if she managed to deal with the two Mightyena, and Richard would probably be able to deal with the lone Pyroar anyway, there should be more of James' agents scattered through the rocks. She still need to regroup with Bea and Denku, with all her hopes that the two managed to avoid most of the fighting and escape unscathed. Granted...as she was talking about Bea, perhaps it would be more realistic to just hope she didn't rush to her doom this time. All of this made it clear that she needed to hold herself back from using Embryonic Flames until she was sure that it's the last bunch of oppositions.

And then, there were the two wild cards. For whatever reason, the assassin decided to oppose James, and while she did gave her a blessing earlier, she was still not going to trust her to just leave quietly once this is over. And then...Jabari. Someone that was willing to work with an individual as crooked as James and eliminate others just to have a chance to meet a Legendary that he might or might not want to murder...really were not someone that she should consider as an ally in any situations. She and Richard seemed to be quite low on his hit list, but even then...

Probably better off not thinking about him for now. His existence really just complicated matters.

Finishing her assessment of the situation and calming herself despite the pain all over her body, Fia burned down the string tying her with the ceiling, and enveloped her body with flames as she fell right on top of one of the Mightyena, and after hopefully using his body as a cushion for her landing (which still hurts), she continued to attack the other Mightyena with another round of Fire Dance.

If things went from bad to worse, if she ended up having to fight Jabari, with or without help, now would be the time for her to figure out a way that she could prepare herself while she cleaned up the goons beforehand. Setting up traps, perhaps? Or just hope her prayers got answered? Either way, she was very much aware that taking him head-on would be suicide.

"Treacherous mongrels, begone! Go die in a fire for your sins!"

Perhaps as a way to focus herself on the battle, Fia sported a grin that made her look like she was enjoying the moment as she blasted off the Mightyena before her with her flames.
