Astro Dude
I'm just pitching an idea here, please don't take this to heart: I am not a huge fan of the horror genre, so I am not a huge fan of the Castlevania franchise, however, after hearing of Konami's falling out, I have to throw this idea of mine into the ring, and I am sure there are fans who want this to happen. The name of the game is: Castlevania, Prelude to the Apocalypse The setting is 1998 in July, somewhere in New York City. The main character is Julius Belmont, who can use the Vampire Killer, along with other iconic sub-weapons and modern ones as well like guns. This is a 20th century themed game so of course we'll have modernized weapons. I'm not sure if there is a ceremony for it but since Julius is 18 he's at the age where he gets the Vampire Killer. Along the way he encounters Genya Arikado (Alucard), who tells him that the time will soon come. So throughout the game, which takes place over a year, Julius kicks all kinds of monster butt. [spoiler=Final Battle]The final battle will take place in Transylvania in July of 1999 where Julius faces off against Dracula. Ultimately not only does he beat him, he uses the power of his ancestors to finish him off once and for all, however, in the aftermath, the 19-year-old Julius wakes up in New York, develops Amnesia, still retaining his basic skills, and only remembering his name starts with J, so he calls himself that. The world is at peace for now, but in an epilogue in 2017, Soma Cruz, the protagonist of Aria of Sorrow, is born. This game is not a bad way to end the series, plus, it gives us insight on how Julius defeated Dracula. The game should be for the 3ds and still follow the Castlevania protocol of being a Metroidvania game. Julius faces off against Monsters from all parts of the world thanks to Arikado. Think of the battles in modern eras. Julius can fight a Succubus in a Brothel in Vegas, Medusa in Rome, the Mummy in Egypt, all the way to the final battle in Transylvania. Standard monsters include Zombies, Dullahans, Skeletons, Ghosts, etc. If the game were to have a voice cast, I would pick JYB to be Julius, Richard Epcar to be Dracula, and Yuri Lowenthal as Arikado. Well there you go. What do you think?
The Amazing Avian
Considering they're gonna make a bunch of Pachinko machines based off their IPs I don't think it's really gonna die.
Makο
The inevitable small silver balls of fate shall be the end of all Konami's franchises, and there's nothing we can do about it.
Astro Dude
They could make this a mobile game. And I mean come on, aside from Quarter Guy, doesn't anyone think Julius should have his own game? On that note, I shall stop before I bury myself into a deeper grave. a bad post
Medusa in... Rome?
The Amazing Avian
I doesn't even matter. Konami is pulling the plug on everything that isn't Pro Evolution Soccer. It doesn't matter that Julius never got his own game, it doesn't matter that fans want it, they're switching everything to mobile and pachinko because higher return on investment. Just Crouton
No, they should release DLC for Phantom Pain that completes chapter 2 and adds mission 51, chapter 3, and all the unused material from the trailers.
Astro Dude
Medusa in... Rome? Okay Greece, but if Konami had this idea to begin with they would not be where they are now.
The Amazing Avian
Okay Greece, but if Konami had this idea to begin with they would not be where they are now.You say that like it was a series of bad decisions that got them into a hole they can't get out of. Really, they just see more profit in a mobile game. Think of it like this:2 million dollars (lol I have no idea) with a possibly massive return but also a chance of failure and being a massive loss.A couple hundred dollars, made by a part time code monkey you barely have to pay and can make many times more than what you spent on it. It doesn't take a business degree to figure out which is more profitable and less risky.
Astro Dude
Which is why this idea should at least be a mobile game. And it should fill a plot hole in the Castlevania franchise. You can't project a story like this on a pachinko machine.
