i love how this card is becoming a debate , cant we end it at saying that its just a great new addition ?

I would love for you to demonstrate what is "playing ygo skillfully" ? want that normal monster era back do you ?

I want TeleDAD back. Ideally Goat, but that's asking for a bit much

Define "skillfully". No really, how is doing whatever you want, then setting this and other disruptive backrow to stop your opponent from playing (which is the whole reason Emptiness, Oppression and the Solemn Brigade are on the list) "skillful"?

BA being able to burn through three set Infernity barrier with no problem and proceed to win shows how awful the float de float format has gotten

Skillful is the gentle back and forth movement of advantage. No mass special summon things like Clown into Chain into another rank 4

No Pendulums. Normals become vital again. ETC

Actually, I disagree that this card is a "you can't play Yugioh" card. I'd say responding to single things your opponent does with a single card is the very definition of playing Yugioh - no other game has such a level of opponent's-turn interaction and I'm absolutely OK with that. "You can't play Yugioh" cards are things you can flip or summon or whatever that mean your opponent can't make any plays for a lengthy amount of time - specifically floodgates. I don't think this card is poorly designed or anything, it's just really really strong.

I despise the game right now. OCG has a chance of fixing things, but too many people would cry if HFD got banned for Konami to do the right thing

I want Final Countdown at 3 again over here (I'm an alt-win ****, sue me); sometimes we don't get what we want.  I disagree with you about this skill thing, but I guess I can understand your ideals.

FC takes so damn long that it should never have left three. I just summon Azathoth vs you and you lose

Same here , this card wont go below 2 , this is a high stakes bet now , be ready to leave if you are wrong , i am prepared if i am wrong.

Except no one gives a sheet if you leave, and you might as well leave, since you're wrong anyways.

This is essentially a better Solemn Warning/slightly worse Solemn Judgment that has barely any sort of LP cost at all and can stop literally just about anything that's actually important in the game nowadays. There's a reason Solemn Judgment was banned (because mass negation, SS3, and variable cost), and a reason Solemn Warning was limited (because low LP cost to basically completely ruin just about any one possible big Summoning play).

This is incorrect.

Solemn Judgment was banned because TCG wanted to be different than OCG and ban Heavy, it's a ripple effect from that, Solemn J was LIMITED for the reasons you mentioned

Warning should never have been limited, it has a sizable cost and it's limit was a poor knee jerk reaction to the WU/Rabbit format, so much of that list was a pile of sheet calls not sure why anyone bothers defending it anyway >_>

You honestly need to stop flip-flopping on your statements. Either you stand with the pro trap people like me or you go with people like Neph, playing both sides weakens your argument

Why does every thread in this section always spiral into a complete shitstorm? Jesus people you are literally just arguing A and B back and forth while completely ignoring each other's arguments on a topic that, really, doesn't mean jack sheet to anyone realistically.

Card is objectively better than warning. It single handedly slows down the format. That's not a good thing. A format should be slowed because the vast majority of options call for cautious play and careful use of resources. Slowing simply because "he had that one trap and so I couldn't execute my play so I lost" is just not fun for anyone involved. The card has far too much impact on its own for too little cost.

In a slower format I see no trouble with this at 3. But right now it's just a flying lariat to the neck of every single deck in existence right now. All it does is knock the wind suddenly out of everything that goes on, and if you're moving fast enough it may very well just kill you. In a slower format that impact isn't felt nearly as hard, but this format is anything but slow ain't it?

So stop arguing about nothing. Who cares if Goat was skilled or not; if this is going to 3 or 1; if unbanning all the Solemns is good or bad for the game? Make your own discussion topic for that. Don't make everyone else who wants to read this thread wade through the shitstorm you are brewing before actually talking about the card.

Funny. I thought you people were b****ing about how Nekroz of Trishula was too strong a few days ago? Lets ignore the fact that Konami gave us a good out to that and just b**** that it slows down the format in the "wrong" way. There is no f***ing wrong way to slow down a format. This card is quite skillful due to its interactions with Hand Traps.

Um, if you're gonna go head first into your plays with little to no fear of retribution, you deserve to get cock blocked by any number of cards (any number includes one). If you're gonna cry that your senju got negated, it was a fair trade of advantage, your one card for his. Not his problem you have literally no follow up play.

And Pot Kettle Black mate, you're criticizing us for thinking the format is healthier one way or another, but then come up with you're own ass pull definition on what is game health?

No that's fine. Completely ignore the point I was trying to make by making an argument based on a side point I mentioned. You're doing exactly what shouldn't be done: straying off topic. Male your own discussion about what's "skillful" in this game. I simply gave my own opinion of the card. I think it does too much for this format. A single card, in my opinion, shouldn't have as much power this thing has. This format is DEFINED by going pretty much all in. Sure you can play passive and "skillful," but if your opponent goes in deep, you either have to keep pace and run face first into this thing, or lose. Boy that sounds fun don't it?

I think this card, and the other solemns as well, are perfectly fine in a slower format. A format that's somewhat backrow heavy. You know, like when the game first started? When the game was all about summoning something, defending it with backrow, then tributing it to summon something better?

But that's MY OPINION. If you disagree, that's fine. I don't really care. An argument between opinions is objectively unwinnable. So stop defining the point I was trying to make and either make your own topic to discuss this or can it. It's post chains like this that gets topics locked because evilfusion just can't deal with the pointless crap that comes out of it, and I don't blame him. I'm just trying to end it. So please just let it die.
