Astro Dude
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/saberridergame/saber-rider-and-the-star-sheriffs-the-video-game Pointless but interesting fact about me, I am actually 30 years old, meaning I might as well be the oldest member here on YCM, meaning I have seen it all in the 30 years of my life: The rise of many new stars, the fall of Konami, shows many of you are too young to remember, and by that, I mean their original showings like when Voltron looked like the first Gundam series, TMNT from the 1980's the very first Power Rangers series, I even had a crush on Judy Jetson when I was 5 or 6 but moved on a year after that. Point? Well, one of the shows I watched in later years was one that escaped my radar as a kid. A show called Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs. A long forgotten anime series made by the same guys who made the original Voltron. And not once did it have a video game based on this series... until now. That's right, Kickstarter is actually making a game based on Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs. The game is a nostalgic throwback to fans of the series. It may seem old with 16-bit graphics, but hey, this is a run n' gun. 4 Playable characters to choose from: Saber (of course), Fireball, April ad Colt and if that was not enough, you know how most franchises reunite casts of characters from video games for anime, the cast from the show reunite for this game. Talk about going the extra mile. Music as well. Anyway, this game needs support. Hopefully they can reach their goal of $75k by next week. People, please, if you want a Contra-like game, this is the way to go. Please, it's at over $51k, show this some love. Thank you for your time. mitchermitcher
thread title reminded me of ontopic: seems like a random thing to try and bring over at this time of the decade but oh wellmeaning I might as well be the oldest member here on YCMi genuinely doubt that there arent people older than 30 here, js
Astro Dude
Well the game is reminiscent to those of past SNES games like Contra III, plus I liked the series. Even marathoned it. The game should be available sometime next year. Hopefully it will live up to the hype.
