biffen
How do you gentlemen come up with good card names? Excluding archetype names (Like Lightsworn).
Yui
I usually base the name off a combination of the image and effect used. Two examples of mine include when I made a fairy-type tuner with a baton, hat, band uniform, so on, and wound up giving it the name Conductor Angel, or when I made a dragon synchro whose effects both revolved around the use of field spells and named it Earthbinder Dragon in the end. For how important it is, the name of a card can honestly be the last thing you decide on.

Flash Flyer - Sakura
In my case, depends on the appearance and what its intended effect is to be. For Archetypal stuff (barring the name), depends on the theme of it.Though, in the case of Written Cards, the appearance isn't counted because lack of image. Sometimes I get creative and name them in other languages (namely Asiatic ones), though those tend to be a minor pain (due to limitations with card font + certain accented characters). But like Yui mentioned, you can think about the card's name later on and work on the design. Or you can do the inverse; get a name and work downwards.Either way works, but don't strain yourself thinking about an appropriate name off the bat.
