Member Group Raffle

Not even us YCMers lack life enough to spend the time it takes to get that 40,000 point permanent member group change.

 

So why don't we have a raffle for it? One lucky bastard gets his own permanent member group for as long as he'd like.

I suppose we can offer a permanent member group to whoever gets all of the monsters in the Halloween event next month.

Although, some of the staff do give out perma groups as prizes for stuff in the sections.

 

For CC, all you need to do is win the monthly tournament three times, and you get the group for life.

That's how Gadjiltron got his (along with associated prize money).

Though, I suppose we can do a raffle/lottery of sorts.

However, it will likely be every 3 months or something.

If the perceived cost of getting the member group through an event is less than the cost if buying it outright, then it should provide a motivating factor. All this depends on what a person perceives the cost to be. Also, bad sarcasm is bad.

Really now? Looked like sarcasm to me, and I suck at detecting it. Anyway, it's basic economics here it seems. I have some ideas to incorporate this already, though a raffle should be a good start.

Well first I'd like to point out that apparently the idea is people would work together to get the points needed. Obviously one person isn't gonna have enough easily.

Anywho yeah this could be kinda interesting. But should it be just a simple raffle that's over and done with or should we make an event out of it?

We have had people donate to each other, so they have the points needed to make certain groups permanent.

(Just be glad it isn't 80K like originally planned, especially after the Easter event thing with massive point prizes)

 

I'll have to bring it up with the other mods to see what they'd like to do with this.

Probably will go for a simple raffle at this point.

That said, I'd support this idea.  I only got to 40,000 through massive amounts of mooching (thnx again Raeg; you da real mvp), and I recall doing the math that - assuming you don't enter contests or such - even an absurdly active member would have quite a wait ahead of them to hit 40,000 points on their own.  The criteria for entry would obviously need to be worked out, but this seems like a good idea if done every three months or so as proposed by Sakura.

Depending on how things go for Halloween, winner will likely get a permanent member group of choice.

 

(A note on that, we haven't really gotten anything set up, but will likely be same thing, so not much planning, bar for a few small details)

Monster Hunter?

 

I'm going to assume it doesn't have anything to do with that monster hunter.

Monster hunter is a term used for members when they go and uncover the real identities of the monster accounts that will be around next month.

Kind of like Scooby-Doo in a way; given the monster's quirks and stuff, you try to guess who they really are + check with whoever runs the event if you're correct/not. 

 

Although, you will find out all their identities in the end when the reveal comes, anyway.

But whoever gets the most correct guesses will get the perma group.

Although, I recommend that a raffle be held alongside it, for people not so mentally inclined.
