Anyway, discuss your early opinions are going for the US candidates for nominations for running for president in 2016, just keep in mind the elections themselves aren`t ending until 2016, so things might change.

TRUMP WEST 2016

Not even joking.  I would legit vote for that team.

I can't vote in the primaries because I'm registered as an independent, but I'll give my thoughts on the candidates that matter.

Bush: NO

Clinton: NO

Sanders: A way better candidate than Clinton but he's a bit too left for my tastes and I disagree with him in a lot of areas.

Carson: As a person, I love him, but I don't know if he'd make the strongest president.

Jindal: I'm mentioning him because he's not a white guy and I respect that.

Christie: Kawaii as funk but I dunno about voting for him.

Trump: CANNOT BE STUMPED

Clinton: messed up due to the email scandal.

Trump: Once the media stops taking this sideshow seriously polls will go down.

Bush: started off decently but was eclipsed once other candidates announced they were running.

Cruz appears to be tied with Rubio, but getting involved Kim Davis thing will probably mess Cruz up.

Sanders: He might win, unlike the other candidates, he isn't preoccupied with drama, or involving himself with legal issues.

I really do hope Bernie Sanders makes it out on top of this, if only because from what I know he seems to be the only one willing to try and get through reformations that the US desperately needs and just all around just seem like a good choice for the position.

Trump on the other hand, I pray gets nowhere near the White House. The man may know how to run a buisness, but from the appearance he's been putting on so far, he reaaally doesnt know how to run a country, nor would I consider him fit to do so.

Though really, it sure just seems as a matter of "pick your poison", since given the current state of the american goverment, I dont think there's a snowballs chance in hell that Bernie would get through a whole lot of the stuff he's been promising.

And when it gets down to it, as a EU citizen, I really dont care how this ends.

As long as it doesnt snowball into another global crisis and/or war, I'm happy.

To be honest, I'm not really fond of the Republican pool, bar for Carson.

(This likely stems from a lot of things they've done lately; no offense to those of you who are Republicans).

I don't care much about Trump to be honest; he has plans for when he takes office, but he's yet to give a specific aspect of what he'll be doing.

Then again, there's also that thing about Obama being a Muslim that he failed to address/correct.

You know, from one of the audience members who is one of those "birthers" who still believes Obama is not American* and is a Muslim.

* to set the record straight, the president was born here in Hawai'i; he even gave his birth certificate at that one instance.

-------

On the Democratic side, I have doubts about Clinton given the email controversy surrounding her.

Bernie Sanders might be a good choice, but we've yet to hear more about what he wants to do for the country.

Biden hasn't declared his position, but if he does, let's see what he comes up with.

A small part of me would actually like to see Carson get elected.  He definitely won't, but I dunno man.

Unlike with Trump coming off as an jabroni + striking a few nerves with people, Carson hasn't resorted to those sorts of tactics.

Personally, I'd like a president who can work out diplomacy with other nations and the populace, without coming off as a huge jerk.

Carson appears to have that quality.

Yes, he's also a colored man like President Obama is, but race should not make a difference.

(I just hope that if he wins, we don't get another round of birthers trying to disprove that he isn't a natural born citizen).

Trump can run a business, but I doubt he'll be able to keep the US in line without striking a few nerves with Congress/Senate.

I can only imagine how he'd react with the other world leaders if elected, especially given that he made a few bad remarks about the Chinese (implicitly through that "anchor baby" issue he made). If he does get elected for whatever reason, I do not foresee him making good relationships with the other nations; heck, I feel he'd cause some of our current allies to ditch us.

I hope someone but Trump wins, however I ask that they don't screw up the United States while doing so.

----

I don't have a political preference so to speak.

I'd like to see Sanders take the reigns, mostly because I'm not hearing anything better from anyone else.

After him, it'd be nice to see Carson make it. He probably won't, but it's a fun thought.

Beyond those two, let's bring Trump in office. It'd probably be funny.

I have to say, I do respect how you like both Sanders and Carson, as they're pretty much polar opposites politically speaking.

That being said, I do totally get it, they have a bit more integrity than the rest.  And by a bit I mean a lot.

In all honesty, I know little about Carson. What I do know is that he ain't really a politician, as far as I can tell. That could bring a new, refreshing outlook to the White House.

Plus, I haven't heard anything overtly bad about him, so... why not, I guess.

He's pretty much a great person all around.  There's a very good documentary about him that I would recommend.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gifted_Hands:_The_Ben_Carson_Story

tl;dr, he was born poor, worked really hard in school, he's a neurosurgeon and the first person person to successfully separate twins conjoined at the head.

Super conservative both fiscally and socially.  Very popular with the religious right, which makes a lot more sense than them supporting some fat cat who is just pandering for votes.

Sounds like a cool guy. The super conservative bit worries me a little, but he doesn't SOUND unreasonable. I bet he's willing to negotiate.

The only thing I'm hoping for is that neither Trump or Bush win.

But really, I doubt anything will really change for the better. Hopefully, I am wrong but....

Bush probably won't make it, given his rating as of late. (As will a lot of the other small ones)

It's still early, but I don't expect him to make it onto the ticket.

Then again, we don't know if he'll be like his father/grandfather (I wasn't around during the latter's stint as president though).

As for Trump, I hope not either, given his mentality lately.

Already explained why in last post; you can read it from there.

We'll have to see how things turn out in the next 12-14 months.

By that time, will Trump lose his edge or remain near the top?

----

Then again, we haven't heard much about what other candidates will do in the Republican field.

Either that, or I didn't bother to watch the debate.

(TBH, I really don't care for the Republican field, bar for Carson. Only watching Trump because he continues to be himself)

Kasich and Bush are probably the only two Republicans who can win the general election.  Everyone else is far too fringe.

I honestly had to look up Kasich to see who he was cause I didn't recognize the name XD

I'm not sure if this is serious or not but I believe Trump is the leading candidate according to almost all the polls isn't he?

In the Republican field, yes he's still in the lead (although it has shrunk a bit lately, as Carson caught up to him).

Not sure on what the exact numbers are, but Trump's lead over Carson isn't really great.

With respect to the other players, yeah he has a sizable lead over them.

Carson is third in the CNN polls according to the BBC coverage, behind Trump (Who leads) and Carly Fiorina whomever they are.

The reason I mention the BBC coverage is because it was a piece about Carson making the comment; 'I would not advocate that we put a Muslim in charge of this nation. I would absolutely not agree with that' due to Islam not being consistent with the constitution,

Also Jeb Bush wants to put Thatcher on the $10 note, and I question why? She was a not really beloved British Prime Minister...  the man seems kinda nutty as a result of that

Just chiming in a few things that I haven't seen discussed .
