You can use whatever cards you like on Duel Portal.

If you're familiar with Dueling Network, it functions almost the same.

You'll have to upload your cards individually though.

This includes any existing cards that you might want to use as supplements.

-----------

There is a tournament pool thread, but that only applies if you want to compete in official tournaments hosted in there.

If you rather play on your own accord, then you have free reign as to whatever you want to use; whatever is in that banlist thread DOES NOT apply (and instead the default list will be used).

First of all, make sure you are NOT using Google Chrome to access Duel Portal, as Chrome has stopped supporting Silverlight which Duel Portal runs on. Firefox or Internet Explorer should do, I think.

After accessing Duel Portal, you need to make an account. Feel free to use your screen name from here if you want.

Now you are logged in on your account, you can upload cards. To upload cards, simply click the "Submit" button on the panel on the top of the Duel Portal. It should be easy enough to work out what each of the things do, but make sure that if you don't want to allow people to edit your cards or use them in their decks, don't make them public. You are still allowed to duel with non-public cards.

After uploading each of the cards, go on the Deck editor and search through your cards and double click on them to add them to your deck. you can then double click on the cards in the deck to remove them from your deck. If you want to add real cards or cards that other people made, simply change "My Cards" to "Public". If you want to add cards to the side deck, simply click on the card you want in the card-selection screen, then right click it and click "add to side". The "Share/Unshare" feature allows you to make your cards visible to others and allows them to use them in their decks, but stops them from editing them. After making your deck, simply type a name for your deck in the box next to "Save as", then click "Save as".

whew, I think I covered most of the basics on uploading cards and deck-building on Duel Portal. If you need any more help, feel free to PM me on here, or say hi on DP. (The name is Tyretian there as well).
