Would Raid Raptor - Rise Falcon having its anime effect be bad for the game?

This card can only attack Special Summoned monsters, also it can attack all Special Summoned monsters your opponent controls once each. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; this card gains ATK equal to the combined ATK of all Special Summoned monsters your opponent currently controls until the end of this turn.

I know that would make it easier to OTK,, however you'd need to pull out 3 materials with any army of powerful monsters staring you down to do it.

The tcg effect just seems underwhelming to me somehow.

It'll still make it similarly situational and underwhelming with how the usual boards look like in the current game, but it does open up more OTK potential.

The first restriction sucks, however.

All in all, it won't change its viability much aside from making it somewhat useful in niche situation instead of being outright not worth it.

I think the anime effect would be overkill, where it could get ludicrously high and deal a ton of damage, but become incredibly vulnerable in the next turn. I actually prefer the IRL effect. It's weaker, but it's not restricted to only attacking SSed monsters, and the ATK gain is permanent, which is very nice, in exchange for only gaining the ATK for 1 monster. Kind of like how Dark Rebellion's ATK gain being permanent is awesome.

3 Level 4 Winged Beasts isn't exactly hard, TC, seeing as how it's matching Archetype is esily capable of doing that, and because there is an overabundance of cards/etc that would otherwise do it for you.

While it's cool for the ability to be a potential OTK, it's mostly the fact of how it would be a pretty weird play in terms of what you would want to accomplish, since this would merely be a large beater, and not really anything outside of that. Compare This to things that would otherwise remove the targets in question, instead of making your only move being your Battle Phase.

Would be cute, though, if it was still like the anime version.

It would be much better with the anime effect I think. Currently there is really no reason to make it since Exciton can deal with huge fields better and DRXD can take down individual threats inflicting 2500 as opposed to 100, on top of Zerofyne, Castel and 101 being frequently applicable options. There is the odd occasion when it's incredible, but they're not overly frequent.

How'd I miss that?

What's Rise Falcon's real effect, for comparison?

This card can attack all Special Summoned monsters your opponent controls, once each. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 face-up Special Summoned monster your opponent controls; this card gains ATK equal to that monster's current ATK.
