Althemia
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-34192447 Well this is definitely interesting.
mitchermitcher
Fascinating stuff. At first I thought the title of the thread meant something that was still alive, that would've been a really amazing discovery.

~British Soul~
Fascinating stuff. It's always nice to learn something new about humans as a species and what new developments will arise due to this.
Resident Fascist
I was expecting some sort of racist joke involving South Africans, I'm disappointed. This is a nice find, though. I'm going to guess it's an early human ancestor, if anything.
Slinky
Not living? That's disappointing. If this is the missing link they are claiming it is though, then the theory of evolution is probably going to become an undeniable fact, even by religious people. The current timeline is still pretty crazy thin though. Humans are incredibly fragile, no way they went 1.3 million years at one point without evolving. So there should be more steps somewhere. Dad
It's another homo-link. Which is further expanding on the species and is pretty damn interesting. I'm wondering how exactly these guys would relate to Adam and Eve? And now I'm even more curious.
Andx
If this is the missing link they are claiming it is though, then the theory of evolution is probably going to become an undeniable fact, The moment a scientist claims to have undeniably proven something they're no longer doing science. Science doesn't claim to know anything with absolute certainty and openly admits that it never can know anything with absolute certainty. So no it's never going to be an undeniable fact. It's a well tested and supported theory that is going to continue being supported by new evidence, findings, and experiments. Anyway it's a cool find for sure. Interesting that it was found in a burial chamber or sorts. Not sure how close to the modern human we're talking but it's interesting to see things we'd think only we do show up in other species. Tentacruel
Although I really want to avoid that topic, no, this won't make people change their theological beliefs. Hella neat tho, as far as dead things go anyway.

(GigaDrillBreaker)
I'm pretty sure there are dozens upon dozens of missing links that have been discovered...Missing link is a hotword in the scientific community that they actively work to avoid, because, put simply, that isn't how evolution works.
