Blake
No, you ninnies. Not balance design, just coherency of design. Gawd. (Cards link to wiki) Firstly, as a ritual, I think Gravity's summonability was handled very well. It has 3 Ritual Spells that can summon it; OEA, Advanced Ritual Art, and Earth Chant. This means it has 2 spells tied to a specific card type in exchange for ease of summoning in some way(s), while Earth Chant, an easily forgotten card, serves as a general Ritual Spell for Gravity. So you can use Pendulums, Vanillas, or anything to summon it, though there's more advantage to the non-generic means, while not ruling out the possibility. Advent clearly has the most plus sides, as it was blatantly made to work in conjuncture with Gravity, but it's not the only option. Then there's the fact of being an Odd-Eyes. This makes it searchable by Joker, while both OEA and Gravity can be searched by Sky Arc. Then there's a few less obvious things, like synergy with Odd-Eyes Fusion and, especially, the Magician Pendulum Tuner. Odd-Eyes Fusion can use a Gravity in hand as fodder, and it's not like you mind your single Gravity being in the grave for your copy(ies) of Advent to revive. Better -1 fodder than Odd-Eyes, for sure. But then there's Noble. She synergizes with both OEF and OEA, as putting her from Grave to hand is worth it. She can revive off of Vortex or Gravity, itself, and she makes Meteorburst/Level 7s with any level 4, or should you have a Level 5, the insanely powerful Ignister Prominence. You basically just use this to have a convenient way to field her on demand. And let's take this a little further, namely in the name of Pure Performapal. Performapals Friendonkey and Pendulum Sorcerer further synergize with this. This means, you have a means to setup with a single -1, which isn't incredibly difficult to pull off. That's not bad for a one-sided 2800 trunade which can't be responded to... then applies a chain energy effect to the opponent alone, which means they're either dead or going to have a terrible time recovering. And your OPT Pendulum Summon mitigates it, even if you have to -2/3, by giving you a +4 summons alone. Just a really well thought-out ritual design on the whole. Maybe it's a bit too good when other cards exist... *Coughlavalvalchain*, but still.
