The Amazing Avian
This happens all the time really, some decks are just plain better. In this case, Yuya.dek happens to be really good and people who want to win big events will want to play it.
Premier Alexander Romanov
How do WE stop this? You mean, how does konami stop it?Yes, as in we the players. The OCG quit using HEROs a while back because they were dominating the meta. Why can't we all agree to just not use this deck? Premier Alexander Romanov
Because if you play competitively you want to win, therefore you play the best possible deck which happens to be this right now.But doesn't it get boring if 90% of the players use the same deck, just with minute alterations?Isn't that bad for the game? Maeriberii Haan
There's no reason for us TCG people to worry about it. Even if we get Pendulum Sorc in the Magician SD, deck will not be as potent without OCG's R4 suite (shock utopia raff chain and maybe infinity). Just Crouton
So, hipsters and casuals hate Performapals now? Which reminds me, I should try Performapals.

Also, you are confused. OCG played HERO when Rulers were just better. And to be honest, I don't want to be in a competitive environment hinging on everyone intentionally avoiding using the best deck. That would just be stupid.

The Amazing Avian
But doesn't it get boring if 90% of the players use the same deck, just with minute alterations?Isn't that bad for the game?It wins games, so there's no reason for them to care. You might think it's boring, but fun is irrelevant when the intent is to win.

Blake
Yeah, it's not gonna happen in TCG. Purepal performs better than Mage and Pals when you omit the R4 pool the OCG has. Performagician has more locking capability, with Mist Valley Apex Avian, Majespecter Unicorn, potential Majespecter engine, and general versatility. Clownblade doesn't really exist anymore, in its complete form, but Clowns still have a lot of general potential. You could still see the engine being played in places, even mixed with Pals or Magician, considering the edge Damage Juggler gives you in a few matches and the pendulum mirror. But the full shebang won't.

What's the problem?Have you read the banlist? Lavalval Chain is banned. The thing that made the engine work is gone, and Thousand Blades is usually ass without it. Minerva is the closest replacement, and this makes the deck much less consistent, which lowers power. It's not totally dead ,but it's very, very weak compared to what it once was... Well, as a tricklown/hatricker engine. It has smaller uses, though, and Flame Mascot is strong af.
Premier Alexander Romanov
I'm just worried that the game, especially online play where OCG cards can be played with a TCG banlist, will be dominated by this.I don't like running into the same decks over and over again online, and I feel like this will be even worse. Premier Alexander Romanov
So what should we do now?Just keep watching the OCG deal with how degenerate their gamestate has gotten?
(GigaDrillBreaker)
So what should we do now?Just keep watching the OCG deal with how degenerate their gamestate has gotten?Or just ignore them and focus on stuff that actually affects us, rather than go chicken little. TCG is at no risk.
