Ok, now Konami seems to be going out of their way to show how much they "care" about their fans. They took legal action and removed some fan art based on MGS V The Phantom Pain. What makes this even more outrageous is that Kojima himself actually retweeted the image to show everyone. I have a feeling Konami found out about it through the retweet and decided to take it down. This is sadly more proof that Konami is starting to reach a new low.

And just when we thought Konami already sucked after certain things regarding their design choices for Yugioh, this happens.

Yes, said person drew a picture of a copyrighted character, but the person was just showing it off because he liked the series.

If he intended to sell said image, then okay, we can see the copyright thing.

But...this is one of the many cases of a fan showing appreciation for a work. There've certainly been others who drew the same character; whether or not Konami got on their case also; we don't know.

Hell, they might as well go after deviantArt, Pixiv and whatever other number of sites with fanart of stuff from Yugioh and whatever they own, if Konami is going to be this anal about it.

That, or go after every one at Kawaii Kon or whatever anime cosplay convention people go to.

Sigh, I need a "Konami, I am done with your sheet" image.

This may also prove sufficient: tumblr_mwqyhsyQlJ1rmxciao1_400.gif

That said...wow, Konami.  You disgust me.  If anything, you should be thanking this fan for contributing a fanart to show that he likes your MGS franchise enough that they'd take the time and effort to draw something based off it.  Not saying "hey this is our copyrighted thing so if you wanted to draw fanart...tough.  We're taking it down."  I legitimately have no proper words to sufficiently describe the deep, seething hate I feel boiling for them.  They may think they're big and tough right now, but if they treat their employees and their fans the way they do, it's not outside the realm of possibility that they'll be their own undoing.  It would be wonderful.

Pulled themselves out of the...what are these people thinking with, because it clearly isn't with their brains.

Yep. They did so back in April. You know, at this point, Konami should right a book.

1001 Ways to Make the Worst Business Choices Possible.

Including, firing your best employees, treating your other employees like crap, treating your fans like crap, removing people's names from game credits, removing yourself from the stock exchange, and more!

You know, I used to think the rumours that Satoshi Sakamoto (Konami's CEO) had gone completely batshit insane were untrue, but given how his company is just digging a bigger and bigger hole for itself at this point, people might actually be right about that.

I mean really, it's almost like they're afraid to even remember they published regular games at one point in their existence. Even if the mobile games market would be more profitable for them, this is deffinetely not how you transition a company into another market, since it's a complete disgrace to the IP's you've collected, the legacy you leave behind, and is a absolute mockery to your fans/customers, the people who allowed you to stay in buisness in the first place!

Why would Konami care? People still buy their products, both card game supplies and video games. They only learnt that they literally can do anything they want, and thus, they will. The only time when they felt a bit screwed up was when Cardfight Vanguard was introduced for the Western audience, since by the time, people were actually fed up with Konami AND they actually had an alternative for playing a different, yet similar TCG.

However, now people are back to playing again their game, and their video games are also popular again (I'm pretty sure Phantom Pain will be sold well, even after their dispute, lots of cancellizations AND new about employees working under bad conditions).

So, if you want change, make a change. Boycotte Konami by NOT buying their stuff, and that's all. If more people are realizing that, the more chances they realize their faults - if not, then they just simply will go bankrupt.

This is the company Takahashi handed his card game over to.

It makes me wonder how different the game would have been if a more competent company had gotten it.

Since Yu-Gi-Oh! was originally handled by Bandai, I think Battle Spirits is the closest thing to see what would happen to the game if Bandai Yu-Gi-Oh! had became a success (at least distribution and design-wise, not gameplay-wise).
