Flame Dragon Posted October 1, 2015 Report Share Posted October 1, 2015 So, I picked up the game last week and I've been having a ton of fun making stages. Haven't uploaded them yet since I'm waiting for all the parts to see if I want to make any last minute changes but its been great. My one complaint is all the automatic stages. The get dull after a while. Also sick of people putting traps at the end of the stage. I personally put 1 Ups cause I'm a nice guy and jumping the flag is pretty neat imo. Thats more or less my problem. I think they are awesome and can be really cool to watch. But when 3/8 100 Mario Challenge stages are like that it gets dull. Although a lot of the stages their are pretty boring. Makes my wonder if I have really high standards or I'm just a bad judge. Anyway, I finished unlocking all the parts. So far not a fan of Boo, Hammer Bro, or Lakitu because if your trying to make something complex they add a ton of randomness that can just screw up the whole thing. I think my problem is that I try adding them later in the design and they need to be put in early to make sure where ever it is you put them works with them there. Really sucks for Boo though since I feel like I have to add them in Ghost Houses. Though the ring at least lets me get a fair bit of use out of them, even if its on the small side. This is honestly the perfect game for me since I love Mario games, Platformers, and creating things. One of my friends is coming over soon so he'll play test them and I'll upload the ones I like. In the mean time I just thought up the best stages idea ever. This is going to be a big one. Hopefully it will be really awesome when I finish. As said in the reveal video using them will force you to clear the stage from the check point as well as from the start. Its a minor issue, but likely what caused Nintendo to keep it out from launch. I'm not sure how I'm going to use the check points. I like the challenge of having to do a stage in one go but at the same time its annoying to do the same segments over and over. I think I'll place them in my longer levels, but out of the way so if someone wants the added challenge they won't need to actively avoid it.
