Well, to be fair I'm picking and choosing at will in mine, too.

Geargoyle Instafit

If this monster is Normal Summoned, you can Special Summon 1 Level 3 or lower "Geargoyle" monster from your Graveyard in face-up Defense Position. During the turn this monster is sent to the Graveyard as Synchro Material, and all other Synchro Materials used for that Summon are "Geargoyle" monsters, you can Normal Summon 1 "Geargoyle" monster in addition to your Normal Summon/Set (you can only use this effect of "Geargoyle Instafit" once per turn).

 

Geargoyle Gearshift

EARTH - Level 5 - Machine/Tuner/Effect - 1400/1400

You can Special Summon this monster from your hand by discarding 1 card. If this monster is used as Synchro Material, you can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower "Geargoyle" monster from your hand.

 

Geargoyle Overcrank

EARTH - Level 1 - Machine/Tuner/Effect - 1000/0

This Attack Position monster cannot be destroyed by battle. Once per turn, if you would take damage from a battle involving this monster, you can reduce that damage to 0, and Special Summon 1 Fiend-Type "Geargoyle" monster from your hand or Graveyard whose ATK is less than or equal to that reduced amount.

 

Geargoyle Producer

EARTH - Level 3 - Machine/Tuner/Effect - 800/800

If there is a face-up Synchro monster on the field, you can Special Summon this monster from your hand. If this monster is used as Synchro Material for the Summon of a "Geargoyle" Synchro monster, you can draw 1 card.

 

Geargoyle Interlock

EARTH - Level 2 - Machine/Effect - 900/200

When this monster is Normal Summoned, you can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower monster from your hand in face-up Defense Position. If this monster is used as Synchro Material, you can add 1 "Geargoyle" monster from your Deck to your hand.

 

Geargoyle Doublock

EARTH - Level 3 - Machine/Tuner/Effect - 900/1600

This monster can be treated as a non-Tuner monster for a Synchro Summon. During the turn this monster is Special Summoned, you can, immediately after this Quick Effect resolves: Synchro Summon 1 Synchro monster using "Geargoyle" monsters you control as Material.

 

Geargoyle Striker

EARTH - Level 4 - Fiend/Effect - 1500/1200

When this monster is Normal Summoned, you can Special Summon 1 "Geargoyle" Tuner monster from your Graveyard with its effects negated. When this monster is Special Summoned, if it is the only monster you control, you can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower "Geargoyle" monster from your hand or Graveyard. You can only activate each effect of "Geargoyle Striker" once per turn.

 

Geargoyle Crusher

EARTH - Level 3 - Fiend/Effect - 1200/1200

If there is a face-up "Geargoyle" Tuner monster on the field, you can Special Summon this monster from your Graveyard (you can only activate this effect of "Geargoyle Crusher" once per turn). During either player's turn, you can discard this card from your hand to target 1 "Geargoyle" Synchro monster you control: That target gains 1000 ATK and DEF, also it cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects (these effects last until the next Standby Phase).

 

Geargoyle Protector

EARTH - Level 2 - Fiend/Effect - 0/500

If this monster is used for a Synchro Summon and all other Synchro Materials are "Geargoyle" monsters, you can make this monster's Level 1 or 3. If this monster is user as Synchro Material, draw 1 card. Once while this card is in your Graveyard, you can banish 1 monster you control until the end of the turn to Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower "Geargoyle" monster from your Deck.

 

Geargoyle Destroyer

EARTH - Level 5 - Fiend/Effect - 2000/2500

If you control no monsters, except "Geargoyle" monsters, you can Special Summon this monster from your hand with its ATK and DEF halved (you can only Summon 1 "Geargoyle Destroyer" per turn this way). Once per turn, you can target 1 face-up "Geargoyle" monster you control, and increase or decrease its Level by 1. A Synchro Summon using this monster as Material cannot be negated.

 

Geargoyle Gardna

EARTH - Level 1 - Fiend/Effect - 0/2000

If your opponent's monster declares an attack, you can discard this card from your hand to activate 1 of the following effects depending on what is being attacked:

●"Geargoyle" monster: Negate that attack, and if you do, you can Special Summon 1 "Geargoyle" monster from your Graveyard in face-up Defense Position, except "Geargoyle Gardna".

●You: End the Battle Phase.

 

Geargoyle Sneak

EARTH - Level 6 - Machine/Synchro/Effect - 2200/2000

1 "Geargoyle" Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters

You can halve this monster's ATK: This monster can attack your opponent directly. During either player's turn, you can banish this card from your side of the field, until the End Phase. When this monster returns to the field, you can add 1 "Geargoyle" card from your Graveyard to your hand.

 

Geargoyle Edgewing

EARTH - Level 5 - Fiend/Synchro/Effect - 2300/1700

1 "Geargoyle" Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters

If this monster attacks, increase its ATK by the ATK of all "Geargoyle" Tuner monsters you control until the end of the Damage Step. If this monster destroys your opponent's monster by battle, inflict 200 damage to your opponent for each card in their hand.

 

Geargoyle Grinder

EARTH - Level 7 - Fiend/Synchro/Effect - 2400/2200

1 "Geargoyle" Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters

You can target 1 face-up Special Summoned monster your opponent controls: Destroy that target, and if you do, inflict damage to your opponent equal to half the destroyed monster's ATK on the field (you can only activate this effect of "Geargoyle Grinder" once while this monster is face-up on the field).

 

Geargoyle Dragon

EARTH - Level 8 - Dragon/Synchro/Effect - 2800/2000

1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters

Once per turn, you can target 1 face-up card on the field: That target cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects until your next Standby Phase. During your opponent's End Phase, activate 1 of the following effects depending on this monster's Battle Position:

●Attack Position: Destroy all Defense Position monsters on the field.

●Defense Position: Destroy all Attack Position monsters on the field.

 

Alternative Geargoyle Dragon

EARTH - Level 8 - Dragon/Synchro/Effect - 2800/2000

This monster can be treated as "Geargoyle Dragon" for a Synchro Summon. If a card or effect would destroy a card(s) on the field, you can Tribute this monster: Negate that effect, and if you do, you can add 1 other "Geargoyle" card from your Graveyard to your hand. If this effect activated this turn and was not negated, you can Special Summon this monster from your Graveyard during the End Phase, and when you do, inflict 500 damage to your opponent.

 

Geargoyle Accel Dragon

EARTH - Level 10 - Dragon/Synchro/Effect - 3300/2500

1 Synchro Tuner + 1 non-Tuner "Geargoyle" Synchro monster

Once per turn, you can destroy all other cards on the field: During the turn you activate this effect, you cannot declare an attack, except with this monster. If your opponent would Special Summon a monster(s), you can Tribute this monster: Negate the Summon. If this effect activated this turn and was not negated, you can Special Summon this monster from your Graveyard during the End Phase. So, can I get some feedback on what I've done for the Assault Knight archetype so far?

Whoa whoa whoa, Level 8 FIRE Gemini Tuner? That's really cool, especially given that Golden Phoenix Dragon (basically Gemini Dr. Red) is a thing in the AGM.

 

That said, the archetype has a same-y, Satellarknight feel to it, but that's not exactly a bad thing. That's actually really unusual for something you'd think was super gimmicky like Gemini spam, so seeing them made practical is cool.

 

What about the Geargoyle preview above? Can I get a look at that?

Honestly, the only one I have any issue with is the Fusion. Epsilon is a poor option compared to other Gemini Fusions, compared to Raptinus (which only requires 2 Gemini monsters, and can use mats in your hand, for a 2400 body with Epsilon's second effect) and Fighterman (again, a 2-mat without the effect restriction, which calls attention to itself by becoming a big beater that mimics the effects of other Gemini monsters when they gain their effects). I'd suggest either loosening up the Material requirements or buffing its effects.

One thing I didn't do for this recent project is give them a way to make their effects more live (at least forcing the opponent to be FIRE monsters to make them hurt more). Yeah, some member didn't understand the concept but that's the whole prompt in a nutshell. 

 

Maybe a few more cards and it'll be done.

The main deck monsters looks good. You've followed the prompt pretty well from where I am. The Extra Deck monsters all look good too. I think you did great overall. But someone else probably sees a problem that I don't, which is fair.

Sorry to Double post, but I'm now going to work on X-Gate, partially because I have a character I want to be able to use them.

 

X-Gate is a Pendulum archetype that consists mostly of Level 4, scale 4 monsters. Their monsters meant for battle are several monsters called "X-Gate Guardians" and they have two abilities: Destroying themselves when your Pendulum Scale isn't 4 on both sides for draw power, removal, or Special Summoning, and whatever battle effects they need. Now, if all of them are Scale 4, how do they unbalance their Pendulum scale? Well, they have two members for just that, members that you'll want to run at 3 each for efficiency purposes. X-Gate Red allows you to lower the scale of the monster in the Blue Zone by 1, and X-Gate Blue does just the opposite. Of course, they don't specify Blue or Red, so you can have them in reverse order, even if it's wrong. Red and Blue can also form a battle lock kind of like Performapal Thunderrhino or Morphtronic Magnen, but only protects within the Archetype. Finally, they have a Level 7 Effect Monster who would probably make for a decent protagonist Ace: X-Gate Quantum, the brilliant young mind who invented the machine and bends its power to his will (dude kinda looks like Rick Sanchez). As long as you've got your scale locked at 4, he can un-summon one of your opponent's monsters, sending them back to the hand once during either player's turn.

Offhand . . . Fusion is underrepresented in the AGM, compared to Xyz, and especially Synchro. Pendulum is its own beast (and if there were more IRL Pendulum archetypes that weren't ridiculous one way or the other, I'd be vouching for them), but . . . any Fusion archetypes you guys want to recommend? I was thinking Predaplants, maybe Gladiator Beasts (while I like Frightfur, they're a little nuts, and HERO are absurd regardless of branch), but I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts.

That's . . . actually pretty unexpected. EARTH mill extravaganza, using the Barrk Tuners as a burn engine and to make Barrk Pile live, pumping up a few T-Rocks to absurd levels of ATK, and using Landmasters as an engine? And, of course, Dova's Successor form for style points.

My next project is Hell Stinger, and I think that the only two Main Deck members without the base gimmick will be archetypal clones of Armageddon Knight and CB Sapphire Pegasus.

 

Hell Stinger

 

Immortal swarms of Insects would truly be hell.

 

This is a FIRE Insect-Type archetype of huge wasps, scorpions, literal fire ants, etc. Their "poison", as it were, is focused around killing the opponent's resources, similarly to how the Monarchs worked- killing the opponent's hand, field presence, and even doing some burn and Grave banishing. Notably, though, the way they do it is . . . more uncomfortable.

 

Like the abominable combination of BA and manga Vision HERO, their effects trigger when sent to the Graveyard, and if you get hurt they jump from the Graveyard into your backrow. Then, they jump back into the frontrow by killing existing frontrow members . . . giving the vast majority of members exactly three effects. One in the Graveyard, the "jump to the backrow" clause, and the "pop a frontrow member to come to the front" clause.

 

And the best part? They're a Fusion archetype, meaning that using Poly makes them plus. Their Fusions aren't slouches, either, and they provide the big stats so you don't just . . . die.

 

However, because their trigger to get going is taking damage, most of their support is literally self-damaging just to get the Deck to function, so they don't have much of a way to fight OTKs. They function best in the grind game, which they're pretty good at forcing if you get a good Foolish or Dante set up on the first turn, but if you brick first turn you might as well scoop.

In terms of Fusion decks, we can let Gladiator Beasts in. Even with the new support from DP18, they're not going to do too much; least in our meta. Will need to think of other Fusion decks that are worth mentioning (GX 'roids are powercrept to hell; letting 'roids in general also brings in Speedroids for Synchro stuff, Predaplants technically have their foot in here already in terms of Chimera [remember that generic I made?], Cyber Dragons are iffy [unless we exclude the Xyz specifically]).

 

Also Draco, you may want to keep the monthly challenges in the opening posts since some users do have signatures disabled and won't read your stuff. (Or profile; you choose what's best)

I think for my next project, it'll be this one:

 

Exvice is a group of DARK Fiend-Type monsters that specialize in rapid Fusion Summons, surpassing Fusion happy Decks like Fluffals, Eidolons and the like. Or really, consider these as the love child of Fluffals in terms of Main Deck and Eidolons in the form of support cards and the multi-Attribute Fusion bosses. None of the bosses are summonable by Instant Fusion though (so no Caligula/Raideen; uh, do Eidolons even run Instant Fusion for this outside Elysion?), but you don't need it to ladder. Just enjoy milling yourself though, because a lot of their combos go off in the Graveyard (and they have a Future Fusion clone).

 

Should be an interesting change, given my lack of Fusions.

Alright, so that makes for two votes each on Shaddolls, GBs, and Predaplants . . . as well as 1 for Shiranui and Cyber Dragons (bar Nova and Infinity).

 

The one reason I worry about CyDra isn't the Xyz (we can bar Infinity and Nova easy), but Core. CyDra Core is their only S/T searcher, so it's all but necessary, but given the existence of "lol have a Level 2" in the AGM, I've been wary of making any especially good Level/Rank 2 monsters. It's a huge catch-22.

 

Also, I'd have to be reminded of changing the OP every month, but sure, why not
