Prize Cards. Discuss.

I agree with evilfusion and British; these two are good examples of prize cards (collector value / Match Winners that can't do anything much nowadays) and not like the stuff YCS decides to do [turn good promo cards in Japan into hard as hell cards to get in English w/out shelling out tons of bucks or winning tournaments].

Both of them have cool artwork, that much is certain.

Too bad they belong on cards that can never be used realistically and are essentially there to be trophies.

Although we got Legendary Dark Magician + Blue-Eyes in Superstars, so suppose the others will also come out eventually.

Nice artwork.

Just wondering, if they are for the World Championship, why are they in English?

If memory serves me properly, all of them were made in English from the beginning.

Probably because they don't want to make separate language reprints for all countries who participate in these, however I may be wrong about it.

@lightdiversion: We'll probably get generic scale 10s eventually, but when that'll happen is another story.

Don't think Konami will ever print the Pendulum Statues though; those are as close as we're getting to generic Scale 9+ Pendulums right now.

We eventually got an 8 in Dragonpit, so...

and i thought we'll finally get generic scale 10 pendulum.....

why cant they change the rules so that player that surrender in a match duel loses an entire match so the match winners can be usable

What does that have to do with the legality of match winners? They are illegal because they are terrible design.

Also, such a ruling change would honestly be really stupid. There is nothing wrong with giving up a game you know you are going to lose so as to move on the the next.

See? Good prize cards. Cards that are completely useless in the competitive game, and only available via prize.

no bad prize cards, no competative player will get motovated to win this trash,

so after beating over 1000 people in ygoh you wanna receive something that you cant use and all you can do is sell?

the best prize cards should be rarity bumps of specific cards such as Ulimate Rare/Secret Rare or even Ghost Rarw of good usable cards which dont exist in those raritys

another option is to get exlusives card art of good stuff which you can use in duels,

Another good example imo was Dark End Dragon, it wasnt overpowered but it wasnt bad either, cards like CCV were just stupid and the Darksouls were trash

This is probably the best idea.

It isn't too far fetched either! The OCG used to do this back in the day. Before it was a thing in the TCG, tournament prizes were alternate arts. Stuff like Kuriboh, Red Eyes, Summoned Skull, and Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon all got really well done alternate arts that were given as prizes! I could see them doing that again for sure
