Must be Special Summoned with "The Claw of Hermos", using a Dragon-Type monster, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. If this card is Special Summoned: Target 1 other face-up monster on the field; equip this card to it. It gains 1000 ATK, and 500 ATK and DEF for each Dragon-Type monster on the field and in the Graveyards.

 

So I've never been a big fan of the card, but recently someone suggested playing a single Hermos in Red-Eyes.  Just because, I tried it out, and I'm surprised at how well this card actually boosts the Deck.  It has so many uses, including generally offering a 3-4k boost if you get it off later in the game, and at least 1500 at the start.  But it's also a Level 7 which means you can use Hermos to set-up plays by getting a bigger monster in the Graveyard, too.  I know it's not the best card, but I'm pleasantly surprised by the results I've gotten using it so far.

I guess if you were pro enough you would play it on an empty field to give you a Level 7 to do stuff with, as a head start for Flare/etc plays.

Most of the time I drew it, I used it to get a Red-Eyes B. Dragon in Graveyard to set up plays, but there's also some scenarios where I can use it with Black Stone of Legend as well, and with Black Stone's effect, I can add it back to my hand, so I'm basically getting this out for a +0.  It's realistically not that bad of a 1-of.
