PROLOGUE

In the beginning, there were 6 dragons. These dragons helped to shaped the world.

Terros, the dragon of earth, helped to create the planet that we live on. Terros peeled away its scales and these became the mountains and valleys. Aqueos, the dragon of the water, filled the valleys Terros created with its blood, which became the ocean and rivers. Falzata, the dragon of fire, forged volcanoes and created fire. These volcanoes were made of faulty mountains that Terros created. Ventios, the dragon of wind, made the atmosphere and forged the skies. Its winds made storms and his fire helped make air. Daraia, the dragon of darkness, wanted everyone to live in fear. He shrouded the world in eternal darkness until the arrival of Shinara, the dragon of light. Shinara battled with Daraia and equaled out Daraia's power, balancing the world in darkness and light. These 6 dragons created the world and all was well..........or so we thought.

As the world grew older, the dragons reigned over their respective territories. Aqueos ruled the seas, Falzata ruled the fire and lived in the Great Volcano of the North, Terros lived underground, Ventio flew endlessly in the skies, Shinara lived high above the clouds with Daraia. The two were still a battle as old as the world itself. Soon, life forms began to appear. Because the mystical powers of the dragons were still around, these animals changed form and gained powers similar to the dragons. The 6 dragons called these creatures Pokemon. These Pokemon roamed the world and still do to this day.

When mankind first sprouted, no one had the intelligence to challenge the dragon's power. As the millenia rolled by, humans became more intelligent. In the year 1152, a young boy named Kilaharo was born. Kilaharo was not like the other boys in his tribe; he showed a great likeliness towards the dragons and their powers. He studied them tremendously and grew up on it. When Kilaharo was 17, he ran away from home to meet the 6 Great Dragons, as the tribe had called them.

Kilaharo quested for 60 years looking for the elusive dragons. He begged the gods to have them come before him, but nothing happened. He became enraged that he wated so many years of his life looking for a myth. Because of this, evil and hatred began to grow within him. The evil took him over and made him study Dark Magic. He learned this cursed art and gained immortality. He also fell upon a curse that called forth the 6 Great Dragons. Kilaharo quickly conjured this magic and brought forth the dragons. Enraged at this action, the dragons began to attack Kilaharo. With his great magical skills, he countered the attacks and sent the dragons falling. With great skill, Kilaharo then cast a binding spell, sealing the dragons into small cards and casting the cards all around the world. But before it was sealed, Shinara cast its own binding spell and bound Kilaharo to a temple in the heart of what is now Africa. The cards, with the power of the 6 Great Dragons, have never been found........until today...

DUEL! I mean BATTLE! I mean...ahh whatever...

"Gengar! Shadow Ball!" a trainer on the television yelled. Tyler Willow, a young trainer of 16, was watching the World Pokemon Finals on television. The trainer with the Gengar had won after the Shadow Ball connected. Tyler switched off the television and laid down on his bed, staring at the white ceiling.

"Man...I wish I had a Pokemon. I only want one though. A Pokemon that will stick with me until the very end," Tyler said to himself as he imagined himself at the World Pokemon Finals. This fantasy was abruptly interrupted when his father walked into his room. Tyler's father was the local Pokemon professor, Professor Vincent Willow.

"Hey son! I have some news for you. I overheard you talking about how you wanted your very own Pokemon and, well, a new shipment of Pokemon from Hoenn, Johto, Kanto, and even Sinnoh have just arrived! You can come downstairs to the lab to pick a Pokemon if you wish," Vincent explained.

"Really? Yes! I'll be down in a bit!" Tyler exclaimed as he looked outside his window smiling. Tyler was about to begin his own Pokemon adventure.

When Tyler walked downstairs, he saw a large computer on one side of the lab, a very intricately designed and computerized place that had many Pokemon being cared by many people. The Willow Pokemon Research Laboratory was the largest Pokemon lab in all of Ghinko and the world. In one of the chambers was a lab technician teaching an Absol how to use Perish Song. He was failing miserably. Tyler continued walking over until he came to his father's desk where there was a laptop compuer on his deck. On the screen were pictures of all known Pokemon in the world.

"Pick a Pokemon. That will be your partner," Vincent said.

"You mean it?" Tyler exclaimed with glee.

"Sure. I want you to do your best. Go out there and do something amazing instead of sitting in the house all day." Vincent stepped aside and watched as Tyler's eyes litup as he saw all the Pokemon. After hours of research and measuring pros and cons, Tyler made a decision. He picked up the laptop and walked over to his dad, who was sitting on the couch looking at the newspaper.

"I want this one," Tyler said as he pointed to a picture.

"This one? Are you sure?" Vincent asked. "Once you pick, it can't be undone. This Pokemon will be yours."

"I'm sure. This is the one I want."

"Okay...Smith! Bring in PK-CF-J:246," Vincent ordered. A wraggly and limp researcher got up from his chair and walked over to the computer and typed in some numbers. Soon after, he walked back into a dark room and began shuffling around, as if looking for something. He stopped, then walked back out with a box containing a brown and golden-brown PokeBall.

"What is this?" Tyler asked as he examined the PokeBall.

"This is the Pokemon you asked for. PK-CM-J:246. Or as you trainers call it...Larvitar," Vincent explained.

"What is with all of the numbers and letters?" Tyler asked looking at the PokeBall.

"Well, PK stands for 'Pokemon'. 'CM' stands for 'Common Mountain'. 'Common' is the state of how many of these Pokemon are in their habitat. Larvitar live in the mountain, which the 'M' stands for. 'J' stands for 'Johto', where Larvitar was first discovered. '246' stands for the number in which it corresponds in Professor Oak's National PokeDex. And that's how we get the code PK-CM-J:246 for Larvitar," Vincent explained.

"Whoa. Can I send him out?" Tyler asked jumping up and down.

"Sure. Just be sure to put him back in before you leave here," Vincent warned.

"Okay. Come on out! Larvitar!" Tyler called out. He threw the PokeBall into the air, then it opened with a bright flash of light and returned to his hand. Replacing the light was a Pokemon that was light-green in color with a red belly. It had a single horn that rose into the air and dark bands under its eyes. It also had a frilled tail and holes in its body.

"There you go," Vincenet said as he returned to his newspaper.

"Thanks Dad!" Tyler said. He called back Larvitar and ran back upstairs to his room. He laid down on his bed next to the PokeBall. Tyler finally had his very own Pokemon.

Job Change

^\^\^\^\^/^/^/^/^

In the beginning, the earth fought with the sky; water dueled with fire; darkness traded blows with light.

^/^/^/^/^\^\^\^\^

??? (A female Duelist): I send Arcana Force VI - The Lovers to the Graveyard along with Arcana Force 0 - The Fool to Special Summon Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler from my hand. I now flip a coin to determine its effect.

??? (A male Duelist): You're not going to get the right effect. You are going to lose this Duel.

???: That's where you're wrong. I just got Heads. That means my Dark Ruler can attack twice in the same Battle Phase. I also now activate Arcanatic Doomscythe and send 1 Arcana Force monster from my Deck to the Graveyard. Now! Whenever my Dark Ruler destroys one of your monsters, you take damage equal to their Attack. Since you only have one face-down monster, you probably won't take a lot of damage. Now! I attack your face-down monster!

{{Face-down monster is revealed to be Rainbow Dark Dragon. The face-down card is sent to the Graveyard and inflicts 4000 points of damage.}}

???=6000 LP

???=5000 LP---->1000 LP

???: NO!!!

???: Oh yes. Dark Ruler! Finish him off! Arcane Attack X - Black Shadow!

{{The Dark Ruler fires two beams of darkness from its two heads. These beams swirl together, then charge at the opponent, piercing through him, ending the Duel.}}

???=6000 LP

???=1000 LP---->0 LP

END DUEL

"It's finished! Maya Hitsugaya has won the World Dueling Championship!" an announcer cried. The crowd went wild in the stadium as confetti fell from the ceiling and ribbons flew through the air. Maya stepped down from the Dueling Platform and was handed a large golden trophy with a miniature statue of Yugi Muto, Seto Kaiba, Joey Wheeler, Tristan Taylor, and Téa Gardner in a group. These five Duelists have become legendary in their own way.

Tristan and Joey took over the World Dueling Championships, which was formerly organized by Seto Kaiba. Kaiba went on to establish a Dueling Academy. Téa married Yugi and the two moved to America so Téa could pursue a career in dance. Yugi mentors his son in Dueling. Yugi gave him his Deck, complete with the Egyptian God Cards.

As Maya was handed her trophy the announcer asked, "What do you plan on doing now?"

"I wanna go somewhere different. I've been Dueling for 11 years now. Ever since I was 5. I wanna take a different path. I want to do something that requires me to travel every single day. I want to become...a Pokemon trainer!" Maya exclaimed. The crowd went even wilder with excitement.

"Well, that's a large jump. Do you think you can handle it?" the announcer asked.

"I can handle it. Just look out for me becoming the next Ghinko, then the WORLD, champion," Maya bragged. She took her trophy and held it high into the air as the crowd grew loud once again.

====================

When Maya exited the stadium, she went towards the dock and boarded a boat.

"Where is this boat going, sir?" Maya asked.

"The Ghinko Region, 'lil lady," the captain of the ship said as he put on a hat. Maya walked on the ship and sat down. She was headed towards the Ghinko Region.

====================

"Larvitar! Screech! Then Dark Pulse!" Tyler commanded. Larvitar had a blank stare on his face.

"Lar?" he cried questioningly.

"Oh my gosh! I can't believe this is happening! How am I supposed to become a good trainer if my Larvitar can't do Dark Pulse?!?" Tyler exclaimed. He fell into the soft grass and looked into the setting sun. Larvitar walked over to Tyler, sat down in his lap and fell asleep.

"Lar-lar-vitar," he snored.

"It's okay, buddy. We'll get it next time," Tyler said as he kept looking at the blood orange sun. Tyler quickly turned around and saw his father walking up to him.

"So how are you and Larvitar doing?" he asked.

"Badly. I can't teach him Dark Pulse...," Tyler complained.

"You're teaching him powerful moves too early. Your Larvitar is still a baby. You need to train him some more. Come with me to the dock so we can meet some new trainers coming in," Vincent said. He helped Tyler up and Tyler held Larvitar in his arms. The two walked down to the dock, waiting for the ship to come in.

"How long is this going to take?" Tyler complained as the moon shone on the ocean surface. The next thing you know, a horn was heard and ship appeared.

"Not long," Vincent laughed. He walked further down the dock just as the ship was coming in. "Welcome to the Ghinko Region! I am Professor Willow and I am here to greet you new and coming Pokemon trainers! If you wish to go on a Pokemon journey, please follow me and my son to our lab." Vincent ushered the the passengers that followed while Tyler sat on a pole. A teenage girl walked up to him and started talking to him.

"Is this the Ghinko Region?" she asked.

"Yea. What's with the trophy?" Tyler asked as he looked at it sticking out of the girl's backpack.

"I won it in a Dueling Championship. The name is Maya. Maya Hitsugaya," she introduced. Tyler started walking and talking with Maya and before you know it, they were at the Willow Pokemon Research Laboratory.

"So you won the World Dueling Championships?" Tyler asked astonished.

"Yea. The guy sucked and I won easily," Maya bragged.

"Cool. I want to Duel one day," Tyler said. "Well, we're here. I can help you get a Pokemon. Go to that computer over there and scroll through the ones we have, but hurry as most get taken very quickly when the ships come in." Tyler pointed to the same computer he looked through. Maya walked over and looked through the computer for about 20 minutes. She then walked back over and showed Tyler the Pokemon she wanted.

"This one?" Tyler asked, sounding just like his father.

"Yea. Seems okay," Maya said.

"Okay. Hey Smith! Go and get PK-RM-H:374, please," Tyler ordered. Smith walked into the same room in which he retrieved Larvitar and brought back a grey and pink PokeBall. "This is your Pokemon: PK-RM-H:374, or Beldum."

"Thanks. Do you think I could crash here?" Maya asked.

"Sure. I have space upstairs in my room. You can stay there for tonight," Tyler offered.

"Thanks," Maya said. She grabbed her bag off of the floor and walked upstairs. Tyler followed her upstairs, but found her face-down on his bed, asleep.

"Get some rest. If you want to make it out here, you're going to need a lot of training," Tyler said. He laid down on his sofa, with Larvitar still asleep in his arms, and fell asleep.

Ready! Set! GO!

^\^\^\^\^/^/^/^/^

A dark magic lies in solitude, waiting for the six keys to be reawakened.

^/^/^/^/^\^\^\^\^

"Hey Maya! I have a challenge for you!" Tyler exclaimed as he caught up to Maya, who was training her newly acquired Beldum.

"Sure. Show me what you got!" Maya responded, calling over Beldum.

"How about our Pokemon have a race; your Beldum against my Larvitar. Our Pokemon will go down to the dock and back. But here's a twist: we're racing too. I want to see which team is faster," Tyler explained as he released Larvitar.

"Sure. Just to let you know, my Beldum learned a new technique. It'll show it to you when we win," Maya said arrogantly.

"Alright. Our Pokemon will race down to the dock and back. When the Pokemon come back, we race back down to the dock with them. First team there wins," Tyler explained again.

"Sure. Ready?" Maya said, placing her feet.

"Sure!" Tyler exclaimed, getting ready.

"GO!" the two said at the same time. Larvitar was off quickly, but Beldum quickly caught up. As Larvitar looked off to the side, it could see that Beldum was quickly moving from side to side.

"What is it doing?" Tyler asked.

"It's a technique. I call it pendulum energy. By quickly moving from side to side, Beldum gains immense potential energy. Then, by stopping suddenly, all this energy is released and shoots Beldum forward," Maya explained.

"That's a nice technique, but Larvitar has another one. Larvitar! Focus Energy! Then Dark Pulse!" Tyler called out. Far ahead, Beldum had already shot forward using its new technique. The racing Pokemon then reached the dock, but Larvitar stopped as Beldum turned around and went back.

"Bel-beldum!" it cried as it raced on.

"Lar-vit-TAR!" he cried. Suddenly, Larvitar began to glow orange, then a beam of darkness was shot from behind Larvitar and thrust him forward at immense speed. Larvitar passed Beldum and reached Tyler. Tyler grabbed Larvitar's horn as it turned around, swinging Tyler forward. Tyler began running, and before you know it, Tyler and Larvitar had won. When Beldum and Maya had arived, Maya was enraged.

"How did you do that?" Maya asked, petting Beldum.

"I learned it on accident. I was training Larvitar before you arrived and I made him use Focus Energy so he could use Dark Pulse. When e used Dark Pulse, he shot forward very quickly. I couldn't catch him!" Tyler laughed with Larvitar.

"Okay. We should be heading back," Maya said as she returned Beldum.

"Yea. My dad cooked dinner for us," Tyer responded, calling back Larvitar.

As Tyler and Maya were walking through the forest back to the lab, Tyler heard something rustle in front of them.

"Did you hear that?" Maya asked.

"Yea. Let's go check it out," Tyler said. As the two neared the noise, Tyler fell into a large crater in the ground.

"What is this?" Maya asked. "Oh! Are you okay?" she then asked Tyler.

"Yea. I'm alright. How come I didn't notice this yesterday when I walked through here?" Tyler asked. As he slid further into the crater, he could see two items sticking into the ground.

"Hey! Wait up!" Maya exclaimed. She slid into the crater and bumped into Tyler knocking the two towards the items. When Maya saw them, her eyes lit up with excitement.

"What are you so happy about?" Tyler asked over his shoulder to Maya, who was on top of his back.

"These are Duel Monsters cards!" Maya exclaimed. She reached down to grab one, but it shocked her.

"Let me get that for you," Tyler said. He reached down and grabbed the same card Maya attempted to grab, but did not get shocked. When Tyler picked it up, he heard a loud roar come from within the card. He looked at it; on the front was a picture of a large brown dragon.

"Let me see that!" Maya said. As she reached for it, she was shocked again.

"Try the other one," Tyler said. Maya reached for it and was not shocked. When she picked it up, she too heard a roar. On the front was a picture of a large white dragon.

"What do you think these are?" Tyler asked.

"They're not Duel Monsters cards. They don't have the serial number on them. My card is called 'Shinara, the Embodiment of Light'. What's your's called?" Maya said as she looked at her card.

"'Terros, the Embodiment of Earth'. Who would leave these here?" Tyler asked, looking at his card.

"I don't know. We should show your dad."

"Yea. Get off of me so I can get up." Tyler got up and climbed out of the crater, then helped Maya out. The two raced towards the Pokemon lab, with cards in hand, and a roar burned into their minds.

~~~MEANWHILE...~~~
"Sire! Two of the keys were found!" a gravely voice said in the darkness. Rustling could be heard. When the rustling stopped, a person appeared out of the shadows; he began to speak.
"Good, good. Just four more keys until my revival is done. I, The Great Demon King, Kilaharo, will reign once again!" he shouted. He left the dark room for another. The fire on the torch flickered, then dimmed as he passed it on his way out.
He reached another room with a large cage. A low roar could be heard within. "Are you ready, boy?" Kilaharo asked into the cage.
"Yes, master," a low voice grumbled. A dragon walked into the light and approached Kilaharo.
"Good. Daraia, you and I will soon rule the world!" Kilaharo exclaimed. He petted the large black dragon and held up a card. The dragon soon disappeared and a picture of it soon reappeared on the card. It was formerly blank, but now read 'Daraia, the Embodiment of Darkness.'
Secrets Unveiled Pt. I
^\^\^\^\^/^/^/^/^
Now that six have become four, two must become one.
^/^/^/^/^\^\^\^\^
"Dad!" Tyler called out as he rushed into the silent lab. Maya rushed in behind him.
"Your dad isn't here! Maybe he's upstairs!" Maya exclaimed. Tyler ran upstairs. Five minutes later, he came back downstairs with a blank look on his face.
"He's not up there," Tyler said. He sat down on the soft sloth couch that was in a corner of the lab. Then, suddenly, Tyler became very attentive as he heard a soft rustling in the closet. He rushed over to the other side of the lab and opened the closet, only to find his father bound and gagged in the closet.
"So that's where he was!" Maya exclaimd as she helped Tyler untie his father.
"Dad! Are you okay?" Tyler asked, looking at his father's face, very worried.
"Yea. I'm okay. I don't remember much, though," he said.
"What happened, Prof?" Maya asked.
"Well...all I remember is that these two people walked in. One of them was a very heavily built man. The other was someone dressed in white. He had white hair as well. The heavier one tackled me to the ground while the one in white searched around the lab. He then walked over to me and...I woke up here," Vince explained.
"Whoa. We need to call the police," Tyler said.
"I don't think the police can help us in this situation. We have something greater than that," Vince said.
"What are you talking about?" Maya asked.
"The man in white...he uttered some words before I was knocked out. He uttered...a lost language. You see, I studied lost languages when I was in college over 20 years ago. We had a whole semester studying this language known as Klihy-Rho Faer. I am fluent in it. I speak it around here sometimes, Tyler. He uttered the words 'Oi baeut wic kios oi kei tu myi rieng. It means 'The beast which keeps the key to my reign.' He was talking about a Pokemon. We need to head upstairs, right now," Vince explained.
"Okay. Maya! Let's go," Tyler commanded. Maya got up from her seated position and followed Tyler upstairs with his dad. When the three got upstairs, Tyler's father pulled out a book from under his bed. On the front was a picture of six circles, each a different color.
"This is what we need," Vince said.
"What is it?" Maya asked with a dumbfounded look on her face.
"It's an old family heirloom of ours. Passed down through the generations," Tyler explained. "I don't know how it will help us."
"This isn't just an heirloom, Tyler. Believe it or not, your forefathers were believed to be great beings that revealed themselves to be dragons. From a long family legend, all sons born in our family, supposedly, have mystical powers," Vince said. He flipped open the book and read a passage from it. "Here is a passage from the book. It explains the family legacy:
^\^\^\^\^/^/^/^/^
The power, sealed behind six hidden doors, have been passed down in the family Wiliow. This power has been entrusted in the hands of Sir Fredreich van Wiliow. As the power was passed down, a curse was set upon it. All sons, from this point on, are to have the responsibility of protecting this power until their death. If this power falls into the wrong hands, chaos will befall the world.
^/^/^/^/^\^\^\^\^
"What is all of this supposed to mean?" Maya asked. "Suddenly, we are learning Tyler supposedly has mystical powers and that these cards are the keys to a legendary power that is supposed to stop some great evil? This is a little too much for me," Maya sighed.
"I wasn't done," Vince said. He continued reading the passage:
^\^\^\^\^/^/^/^/^
If in the event that the doors are in separated hands, the power will split. He or she that finds a door, and the doors deems the opener worthy, he or she will be granted the same powers as the family Wiliow.
^/^/^/^/^\^\^\^\^
"So...," Maya said.
"The card you have, Shinara, is one of the six doors. Since you could not touch Terros, Shinara must have deemed you worthy. Terros must have chosen me because of my last name," Tyler said.
"But your last name is W-I-L-L-O-W, not W-I-L-I-O-W. Your last name only has one 'I'," Maya said.
"Well, actually, his great grandfather's last name was Wiliow. I remember him telling me that the spelling was always confusing and that he changed the second 'I' to an 'L', changing the name from Wiliow to Willow," Vince explained.
"So all of this madness about mystical doors and powers...is true?" Maya asked. She sat down on Vince's bed, her head in her hands. The wind howled outside. The lights, shining brightly in the room, flickered once as the wind picked up.
"I suppose so. We need to find those other doors," Tyler said. "Come on, Maya."
"Where do you think you are going?" Vince asked.
"I'm going to fulfill a family legacy centuries old. I'm going to find those doors," Tyler said. He ran downstairs on his own, Maya still in shock at the news. There was silence for a while, but then, Tyler screamed downstairs. Vince and Maya quickly rushed downstairs, only to find Tyler on the floor, holding his stomach. In the doorway were two people: one in white and a heavily built guy.
"Those are the two!" Vince exclaimed.
"You!" the man in white shouted. He pointed a long finger at Vince. "Hand over the red key!"
"Never! You didn't get it last time, you are NOT getting it now!" Vince exclaimed.
"Hand it OVER!!!" the man in white exclaimed again.
"Dad? What is he talking about? 'The red key?'" Tyler asked.
"Falzata! Hand it over!" the man in white exclaimed.
"NO!" Vince exclaimed.
"Fine! You leave me no choice! I, Kilaharo, will kill you!" the man in white exclaimed. He reached down into the pocket of his large white pants and pulled out a card. On the front of it was a picture of a black dragon. The card read 'Daraia, the Embodiment of Darkness'. The card began to glow and soon, there was a large black dragon standing in the lab. It let out a loud roar that shook the whole building.
"Dad! Let me handle this!" Tyler exclaimed.
"No," Vince said as he pushed Tyler back. "I got this." Vince pulled out a card with a picture of a red dragon on it. The card read 'Falzata, the Embodiment of Fire'. The card glowed as well and, just like Daraia, there was a large dragon in the lab. This time, the dragon was red. Daraia was muscular; Falzata was slender. Falzata let out a roar that heated the whole room.
"Ahh! Falzata, the dragon of fire," Kilaharo said. "Niv! Handle the kids," he ordered to the heavily built man.
"Yessir!" he said in a deep voice. He began to charge at Tyler and Maya, who ran outside into the wind and rain.
"Now it is just us two," Vince said.
"Yes. Let us see who will prevail," Kilaharo said.
"Trust me: you are not going to leave this lab unscathed," Vince said.
